A/N: Hello, welcome to my second story. Why Persona 5 and Rosario + Vampire, better question is why not. Also I know Joker's canon name is Ren Amamya. But I like Akira Kurusu more. So I'm gonna go with that. Now I just hope I do a good job of capturing the character's personalities. This is my second story and first one with a focus on an established character. So hopefully OOCness is at a minimum. In regards to Canon, for Rosario + Vampire It's gonna mostly be the manga with some anime sprinkled in whenever I feel like… but still like 95% manga. And I'll draw elements from all over Persona 5's manga, anime and games. And to prevent ANY suggestions of the like as I tend to see them on other Persona story's. No this will not crossover with Persona 3 or 4 (there may be minor references but no more). As I just wanna focus on 5.

Chapter 1: a fool and a vampire.

Yaldabaoth watched on as the phantom thieves seemed to vanish from his world. But despite how easy he had pushed away their attack as the desire of the masses made it impossible for them to do any lasting damage. He couldn't help but feel something off about that damn trickster. Something that sent a shiver through his being.

He decided to just erase them permanently… but for some reason he couldn't. It seems as though there were those not under his spell aside from the phantom thieves. People with cognitions he couldn't erase Akira from. But an idea occurred to him. There was a well kept secret hidden from humans but as he was connected to the collective unconscious he could sense far more than just humans. A secret world full of danger and monsters… with a certain school the trickster could "fit in". If he can't erase the trickster… then why not put the Trickster in a place to Pacify him while Yaldaboths influence grows. A place far away from those who fan the flames of his inner Rebellion. Though the place he had in mind was dangerous enough it may very well handle the Trickster without any influence. But first he had some things to change.

Third person P.O.V.

A tall male student with glasses, black unkempt wavy hair, and gray eyes. A thin but clearly flexible frame wearing a green uniform of the school he was now attending. rode on an unsuspecting school bus. In his hands a letter his parents gave him. And beside him were the bags he needed.

Akira (third person) P.O.V

The letter was a simple one explaining how his parents' plans to send him to Shujin fell through, the school board deciding at the last minute he was too much trouble. And now they were sending him to a private school. Though how it was delivered didn't sit right with Akira.

'Couldn't even tell me to my face.' Akira thought, sighing looking out the window as they drove into a tunnel. Ever since he was falsely charged with assault his parents have been spending most of their time avoiding him. their faces when he first saw them after being arrested burned into his mind. Disappointment, horror, anger, and disgust. But no matter how much he tried to explain what really happened they refused to hear him out. His "friends" weren't much better. All of them abandoned him, calling him a criminal, spreading rumors like wildfire. He clenched his fist, feelings of anger and sadness bubbling inside him.

And now he was being sent to the middle of nowhere and this school only accepted him on the condition he be made a first year again, and in return they would keep their eyes on him to make sure he didn't violate his probation. 'The only silver lining is it's somewhat a new start. From a perspective.' Akira tried to be positive which was admittedly hard to do. For some reason though he felt as if he lost something more than his previous life with his parents but couldn't recall what.

The previously quiet bus driver suddenly spoke his voice raspy and deep. "So you're the unfortunate delinquent who enrolled in Yokai academy?" Akira was a little unnerved by the driver but ultimately maintained his cool. "Yeah." He'd been called a delinquent so much it barely even fazed him any more. No one would believe him if he said he wasn't one either.

"Hehehe in that case you better prepare yourself. When we exit this very long tunnel we'll be at the school. And youkai academy is a very terrifying school." The bus driver exclaimed. But despite this Akira wasn't even unsettled. For some reason he felt no matter what he had seen more terrifying things.

The bus driver smiled at this "nerves of steel huh? I respect it but well we'll see how long those last." The driver softly chuckled.

'This guy gives me an off vibe.' Akira thought pushing up his glasses he was glad that if there was one thing he'd gotten good at it was keeping a neutral expression to hide his thoughts. It felt almost like he was hiding behind a mask. That idea has constantly stuck with him as of late and he wasn't sure why.

As they exited the tunnel and stopped the bus driver opened the door. "We have arrived, sonny boy. Be careful." The driver warned as Akira exited the bus.

Akira looked around. The Academy looked like it was pulled right out of a Halloween themed movie. Looking more like a haunted house attraction than a school. A pumpkin headed scarecrow even held a sign reading 'Youkai private academy.'

"This place really is weird, it looks almost like a…" Akira wanted to say something. A word he was drawing a blank on. Like it was erased from his thoughts. 'What's going on?' This wasn't the first time he felt like something was missing from his mind. He vaguely remembered voices, activities, and locations but couldn't put them to anybody he knew or any location he'd been to. One of the strongest recollections, if you could call it that, was a well dressed demon that gave off the impression of a thief with black wings and a haunting laugh… yet the image that would terrify others made Akira feel at peace. Like it was something he could trust.

Akira was so lost in thought he didn't notice the sound of a bicycle nor the feminine voice shouting a warning. He suddenly got the air knocked out of him as something slammed into his back. He fell to the ground only letting out a groan.

As he pulled himself back up he put his hand on something soft, electing a soft noise from the bike owner. Noticing it was a thigh he put his hand on. He quickly moved his hand back "Sorry." He said quickly and clearly before looking at who crashed into him. It was a rather attractive girl with long pink hair and green eyes.

'She's rather cute.' Akira thought while getting up and offering his hand to her. "Need help?" Yet as he said that, something felt… off like there was more to this girl then met the eye. A sixth sense in Akira's mind could tell this girl was not human and much stronger than she seemed.

"Oh you're hurt." The girl said pointing to a small cut on his cheek, pulling out a handkerchief before hesitating, seeming out of it.

'Is she… sniffing me?' Akira was very confused at the girl in front of him.

"I-I'm sorry I can't help myself!" The girl yelled and bit Akira's throat faster than he could react. He let out a pained noise as he felt himself being drained.

When the girl pulled away Akira's hand quickly felt the place she bit… feeling a little blood coming out and yet oddly enough the wound was quickly healing.

"I'm sorry I'm Moka Akashiya, I can't help it because although I look like this I'm a vampire." The girl now named Moka quickly confessed. Akira felt like anyone else would be scared or skeptical… but he could tell the girl clearly meant no harm and it would explain the feeling he got. And the idea of believing she was dangerous solely because she was a vampire didn't sit right with him.

"I see well it's nice to meet you. My name is Akira Kurusu." Akira calmly said with a smile on his face.

Moka seemed shocked at the kindness. "Um, do you not dislike vampires?"

"Well I believe people should be judged based on who they are rather than what they are labeled as." Akira didn't have time to brace himself before the girl happily hugged him.

"Oh and thank you for the blood, it was amazing." Moka said, smiling happily as she got her bike ip and they started walking to school.

"And if you truly don't mind me being a vampire… Could you please be my friend?" Moka looked at Akira.

"Of course I'll be your friend." Akira said with no hesitation.

"I'm pleased to hear that, let's talk more when the entrance ceremony is over ok."

"Yeah I'd like that." Akira smiled 'I can't shake the suspicion that things are gonna get dangerous.'

~~~~Take your time~~~~
"Hello class I'm Miss Nekonome, your homeroom teacher this year." The blonde teacher greeted the class cheerfully. Akira sat there quietly. something felt off about this whole school. He had a hunch but had no way to confirm it.
"I'd like to welcome all of you to the Yokai academy, a school that I'm sure you all know is built for monsters!" And there it was. Akira's shock was minor as he was already suspecting something like that. He felt something different from everyone in class. Much like Moka, all of them didn't feel strictly human.
"With the human population far exceeding that of monsters. This school is dedicated to teaching you how to blend in and co-exist peacefully with humans. So for that reason School rules dictate you must stay in human form at all times, and you must never tell others your true form. As practice for life outside the school." Miss Nekonome continued. Akira couldn't help but feel a bit of sympathy needing to hide who they are to keep the peace.
"But teacher, why can't we just eat the humans? Though I'm sure we can think of some fun alternatives for the girls." One of the larger students said with a monsterous grin. Akira could immediately tell he was a monster in a different sense
"Don't be silly, all teacher's here are also monsters, there are no genuine humans here. This school is one of the world's best kept secrets. And if any humans found out about it they'd have to be put to death." Ms Nekonome said likely misunderstanding the full implications… or intentionally avoiding them.
That new bit of info gave Akira a shock and for the first time a hint of fear welled up in him. But he soon calmed himself down, all he would need to do is keep his head down and his mask up.
However his mind was taken off of that thought when the door opened revealing the familiar face of Moka. "Excuse me! Sorry I'm late! After the entrance ceremony I got completely lost!"
Ms Nekonome just smiled in an understanding way. "Oh that's fine. Just take a seat." She said pointing to an empty seat.
Akira smiled at the new revelation. It'd be nice to share a class with someone he could trust. Though he heard quite a few people oogle
her as she walked towards her seat. And as Moka walked by and noticed him, he yet again felt himself at the end of yet another hug. "AKIRA KUN YOU'RE HERE TOO!" Moka cheerfully yelled.
Akira felt a death glare collectively from the male's and some of the females of the class. '… So much for keeping my head down.' Akira almost chuckled at the Irony that his one friend was also bringing attention to him. He scratched the back of his head. As he heard people wondering who he was, and why Moka was so friendly with him.
~~~~Take your time~~~~

After class introductions ended, Moka dragged Akira around the school. 'I guess this isn't too bad.' Akira thought even as he got more jealous glances. Moka was both admiring the architecture of the school and learning her way around it. Until she stopped as a student stood in their way.

Akira was on guard, noticing it was the same student from earlier who made comments about eating humans. "Your Moka Akashiya right? I'm Saizou Komiya. Greetings." The large student said with a wink.

Moka seemed also unsure about this guy. But didn't have any time before Saizou tried reaching out and grabbing Akira who quickly stepped back avoiding the grab. Looking irritated he nonetheless continued "by the way what's a beautiful lady like you associating with a shady punk like this?" Saizou said.

Akira heard his fellow classmates murmuring "isn't that Saizou, isn't he said to be a rogue monster."

"Yeah I heard he was forced here due to how much trouble he caused."

Saizou chuckled, moving closer to moka "wouldn't someone like me be better than someone so shrimpy."

Moka stepped back a bit obviously more nervous about Saizou when Akira quickly moved in between them with a defiant gaze. "Back off." There was an underlying threatening tone that unconsciously slipped in. Akira could tell in raw strength he couldn't compare to Saizou. But he wasn't gonna let someone push around his friends.

Saziou glared at Akira. "that look pisses me off." That was all Saizou could get out before Moka grabbed Akira and dragged him away.

"I'm sorry I'm having fun with Akira-Kun now. Bye!" Moka said quickly as they darted away. Eventually coming to a stairwell where Moka pulled Akira into hiding the two.

Letting out a sigh of relief. "That was surprising and a bit scary but you were so calm and collected. How did you manage that?" Moka asked.

Akira didn't know how. When he saw Moka scared, all fear and hesitation vanished. "It was just natural. I refuse to let my friends be bullied or uncomfortable."

"Wow, a selfless friend and your blood tastes so delicious!" Moka smiles though Akira couldn't help but feel like he was being looked at as food at the moment.

"So shall we continue exploring the school?" Admittedly Akira was changing the subject because while he wouldn't say no if asked… he admittedly didn't feel like having his blood drained again at the moment.

"Oh of course." With that Moka again started dragging Akira around until they saw a vending machine. Stopping for a bit, Moka purchased tomato juice while Akira was looking for something else.

"Man no coffee." Akira said he had developed quite the taste for the stuff as of late. Moka chuckled at this.

"Why would you expect coffee from

Juice machine?" She said while continuing to walk, admiring a nearby gargoyle statue as she did.

"A man can dream." Was all Akira could say before something dawned on Moka.

"Oh what, monster are you?" Moka asked Akira rather bluntly before realizing her Faux pas. "Oh sorry we aren't allowed to reveal that are we?" Moka said, covering her mouth.

Akira smiled "it's fine, it was a simple slip is all."

'I want to tell her, and I feel like I can trust her… but there's the possibility of prying ears.' remembering the school, said they'd keep an eye on him. He decided he couldn't risk informing her just yet.

"However I do hope I can tell you one day." Akira finished. Stretching while they walked.

Moka nodded while smiling. "Can I ask where you grew up then?" Akira nodded.

"I grew up in a small town near Kyoto." Akira said, playing with his hair a bit.

Moka patted his back gently unexpectedly. "That must have been horrible. Growing up around humans." Akira looked at her a bit surprised.

"I went to human schools growing up. They all made fun of me and bullied me for saying I was a vampire. I hate humans." Moka said bluntly.

"It wasn't… that bad. Not all humans are cruel." Akira said defensively. He couldn't defend any of the people who abandoned him… but he just knew there were people who are kind and caring.

"You say that but I've never met one that was good. They all push away what they don't understand." Moka said as they arrived at the dorms.

Akira tried looking around, while he wanted to keep this secret he just couldn't. not now. When he was sure it was clear. "What about me, I didn't push you away and I'm human."

Moka looked at Akira with shock, a little disgust and horror. Akira felt a pain in his chest. Her look reminded him of his parents'. But he swallowed that pain. "I'll give you some time and space to think." Was all he said walking off. It was a risk for all he knew she could turn around and sell him out, but he felt like he could trust her. He just hoped he was right. As Moka stood there, still shocked.

~~~~Take your time~~~~
Akira walked to school alone the next day. He hadn't seen Moka when leaving but hopefully he'd see her at school. But he did see Saizou.
"It seemed like you had a lot of fun with Moka yesterday, you piece of shit." Saizou said, trying to make another grab for Akira who avoided it and right into a wall. Saizou smirked
'Did he plan that.' Akira was somewhat surprised at Saizou's apparent plan. The bully's large body makes getting around him and out of the situation harder.
"Now you're gonna pay. Tell me your true form." Saizou growled. His plan was apparent to Akira, get Akira to say his true form then get in trouble for breaking a School rule.
"Sorry, no can do, School rules." Akira shot back, with Saizou angrily punching at Akira. Akira ducked and rolled behind Saizou as the wall behind him shattered to pieces. 'how strong is this guy?' Was all Akira could think before Saizou struck at him again, his hand changing form to a bigger armored form.
"SCREW THE DAMN RULES, TELL ME!" Saizou yelled as he barely missed Akira yet again even with his enlarged hand. Saizou soon caught himself. Breathing heavily seemingly to calm himself down. "Either way talk to Moka again and you're dead." His hand turned to normal as he walked away he grumbled about being too close to school to risk violations.
Akira leaned against a nearby tree trying to collect himself when he heard a familiar voice. "Akira-Kun." He looked over to see Moka with a conflicted look on her face.
"If we don't hurry we'll be tardy." Akira said teasingly, motioning for Moka to walk with him.
"Um… actually I think we should talk… in private." Moka said with a serious tone. It was easy to guess what about.
"Of course. Lead the way." Akira said and Moka led him into the forest away from school. 'Almost getting some serious horror movie vibes.'
When they were a safe enough distance from school that it was likely no one would hear them Moka spoke. "Akira-kun I don't care if you-" only for a loud snap to interrupt her.
"Really a heart to heart in the middle of the woods. What did I just say you defiant piece of shit." The voice of Saizou rang out as he appared from behind a tree.
'Damn it he must have hung back and followed us.' Akira admonished himself for not paying attention.
(Moka P.O.V)
Moka wanted to tell Akira she didn't care if he was human. He had been nothing but kind to her and even stood up to Saizou. Even if he was human she wanted to be his friend… she wanted a friend in general. But that was interrupted.
"I'll enjoy this, I get to break the rules, Kill you and have some fun with Moka all at once." Saizou grew larger as he turned into his true form. An Ogre, a massive monster made of muscle with an elongated tongue.
'This is bad, Ogres are known for their strength… I can't fight him as I am now and neither can Akira.' Moka thought before a massive fist came flying at them both. Akira pushed Moka out of the way before deftly dodging the punch himself.
"Moka run." A determined expression appeared on Akira's face. Pulling Saizou's attention away from Moka.
"B-but." Moka wanted to argue as Akira continued avoiding punches.
"No time to argue, just run!" Akira said clearly intending on distracting Saizou just to let her escape. He couldn't dodge forever and nothing guaranteed a teacher could make it to him on time even if she told one.
Moka clenched her fist. 'Am I really about to lose my first friend?' The more she thought about it the more she was determined not to. She quickly rushed at Saizou and tried pushing him with what superhuman strength she could muster.
Saizou was unaffected. "aw how cute but if you really wanted to help him why not turn into your true form then we could have some real fun." Saizou wrapped his long tongue around her leg and whipped her around, launching her right at Akira.
(Akira P.O.V.)
Akira didn't hesitate in catching her. One arm wrapped around her and the other caught on something, and heard barely noticeable noise before slamming into a tree.
"Ngh are you ok moka?" Akira asked, his voice strained. He knew he has been in worst pain but he sure can't remember when.
"Y-yeah." Moka said when Akira noticed something in his other hand. He looked at what was in it and saw it was Moka's Rosary that she had wore around her neck.
"What? The rosary came off?" Moka said confused sounding before a well of power seemingly exploded from her, her hair turning silver, her eyes turning red, and her body maturing slightly. And in Akira's arm was a completely different looking person.
Akira was confused and shocked. It wasn't as drastic of a physical change as Saizuo… but he could tell just from the body language this Moka was a different person.
She quickly got up, barely looking at Akira instead focused on Saizuo. "So this trash wants to have fun with me? Well then just try and do so by force" Moka said walking forward with an intense glare.
Akira could tell that Moka was much more powerful than Saizou. And just stared at what was going on in aw.
Saizou meanwhile was paralyzed with fear. Before finally forcing himself to move and struck at Moka only to be stopped by her, easily reaching her hand out. "Is this really all you have?" Moka said with a bored expression. "If so then you should KNOW YOUR PLACE." Moka said before delivering a powerful kick to Saizou's gut. The monster heaving before being sent flying.
"A low class monster through and through. Not even a decent warm up." Moka said while yawning. Then Moka looked at Akira who was relatively unphased and more impressed than anything. Moka muttered something to herself Akira couldn't make out.
"What happened?" Akira who finally got over his aw to ask.
"When my other side's Rosary is removed I come out. That's the simple version. Now give me it, I haven't been out in a long time and I'm tired." Moka demanded. Akira compiled without hesitation
As she put the rosary on she reverted to her normal form and passed out against Akira. Sighing in relief, Akira was glad Moka was safe.
'Well this is gonna be a very interesting year.'
"My dear trickster, though the game is now more rigged against you than ever before and your opponent is so close to victory. I still believe if you put your faith into the bonds you make you will win."
A/N: Welp there was the first chapter. What did you think did you like it? Did you hate it? Either way by all means tell me how I can improve if you wish. If not well thanks for giving this a chance.
