Chapter 7: Spreading Wings
It was now nightfall, as the lamppost started to lit at the streets of Vale. At the entrance to the Airship staion is where Cinnabar Caliburn, Jaune Arc, and Lie Ren stepped outside taking in the sight of the city of Vale for the very first time.
Jaune: Alright Team ARC! Welcome to Vale!
Cinnabar and Lie looked at each other, both unamused by Janue's team name.
Cin & Lie: Team ARC? (in unison)
Jaune: Well yeah, you know, A for my last name, R for Ren, and C for Caliburn... (Jaune holds out his hand and the letters ARC pop into existence.) Team ARC! Plus when I'am I ever gonna get a team named after my name?
Cin: (Nodding in agreement with Ren) Fair enough.
Ren: I'm quite surprised you asked for just Jaune and me to accompany you to Vale.
Jaune: Yeah, what made you finally decide to have a boy's night out, Cin?
Cin: Well... (thinking back to some "embarrassing" moments)
William Tell Overture: Call to the Cows is playing in Cinnabar's head, as the morning sunlight was shinning on Cin's face. Only to quickly realize that Cin finds himself hanging from his sleeping bag, from the ceiling like a punching bag. The music was also record scratched to a comedic montage music.
Cin: (Shocked) What the?
Cin tries to struggling out of his sleeping, Yang comes out of the restroom in her pajamas.
Yang: Great morning, Cin! You don't mind being my new punching bag, after I wrecked my last one, do you?
Cin: Well actually-
Yang: Great! (Ignoring Cin, placing a target on the sleeping bag) Now hold still while Ruby takes some practice shoots on you with paintballs, got a shoot yet, Ruby?
Ruby Rose is than seen taking part of this prank.
Ruby: Almost!... (taking aims Crescent Rose in sniper form on her bed)
Cin: (Shouting "No!" repeating and still struggling)
Cutting to Black to another scene, as Cin was still sleeping, he started hearing light snickering from the girls. Cin woke up later only to see the girls still asleep in their beds. Cin than went to the restroom, in a brand new luxury silk sleepwear to freshen up himself for the morning. As he was about to brush his teeth, the first look in the mirror has Cin seeing him plastered in all sorts of women make-up, with lipstick, Blush, Highlighter, and Powder.
Cin: What the?! (With a shocked expression)
Cin could hear the girl's laughter from the other room. Cin than started washing his face off clean from the make-up in the sink.
The last scene of Cin's memories, shows Yang seeing Cinnabar's labeled laundry basket filled with clothes due for washing, she makes a wicked grin for a idea of another prank.
The scene than cut to Cin half-asleep preparing to put his clothes in a washer in the laundry as usual... only to than realized that the first layer of clothes of the laundry was really Ruby's red cape, covering up Cresent Rose, Myrtenaster, Gambol Shroud, and Yang's own Ember Celica to cover her tracks.
Cin: (Confused) What the?
Cin suddenly heard familiar-yet-furious voices in the distance, each voice made Cin's face more and more frightened.
Ruby: Hey! Who took Crescent Rose & my cape!
Yang: I know someone didn't touch my gauntlets!
Wiess: Where... Is... My... Rapier!
Blake: Cinnabar! Where are you?!
Cin started panicking as he started to hear footsteps approaching. Unsure how to get himself out of this predicament, until he noticed that the washer or dryer could be big enough to fit inside and jumped into the washer and shut the lid. Cin stayed quiet, hoping the girls will just see their weapons and just take them away, leaving him be as things were suddenly quiet.
Yang: (Open the washer lid, with a surprised look) There you are, Cin!
Cin: (Screaming in a high pitch like a girl) AAAAAHHHH!
Cutting back to Cin walking with Jaune and Ren, who both we're flabbergasted on how savage girls can be at times, mostly Yang after hearing this.
Cin: I guess... I just really needed to take a break from Team RWBY off a while.
Jaune: Not that easy sharing the same room with four girls, huh?
Cin: Tell me about it, at least Yang took full responsibility of her pranks and agreed to do all of our laundry duty for the whole semester, she even admitted that her last prank was going a bit too far and was sorry about it.
Ren: That's all well and good, but why do you want us to leave Beacon and come here to Vale? (looking curious)
Cin: Well... (looking bashful) the truth is guys, this the second to last I'll be staying with Team RWBY, and I really wanna buy them all something for taking me in their home for these few weeks. They've been really nice to me, Wiess got me some new pajamas... after she tossed my old set for being too grey and plain, Blake let me keep one of her books to read called Slave to the Sword, Ruby helped me in Professor Mulberry's class customizing and upgrading Caledfwlch & Pridwen, and she and Yang tossed Team CRDL in a dumpster for me, after they called "too soft" for staying with Team RWBY, and treated me with some donuts. I just like to give them something to remember me by whenever I'm with Team CBRT.
Jaune: (Jaune "aww", touched by Cin's speech) That's so sweet of you, Cin, reminds me of when I was buying gifts for my seven sisters when I was younger.
This surprised both Cin and Ren.
Ren: You have seven sisters, Jaune?
Cin: Wow, and I thought four was hard enough.
Jaune: Yeah... (feeling bashfully again) It was pretty hard handling with them, but I do still miss them all.
Ren: (smiling to be with such good-hearted men) It's very decent what you're doing for Team RWBY, Cin, so do already something in mind on what to buy for them?
Cin: I think I do, but since Jaune is our (air quoting) leader of this group, why don't you take a look at where we need to go? (wanting to test Jaune's skills.)
Jaune: Uh... (starting to feel a bit nervous) ...Sure of course (pulling out his tablet scroll)
Cin: Think of this as a mission of transporting precious cargo.
Jaune: (brightening up, Jaune's spirit) Oh! Yeah, I like that idea, Cin, this will be perfect training for that.
Ren: So then what our objectives (accepting this "mission")
Cin: Okay all we have to do is just make two stops, The Plush Zone and Sweet&Sour Bakery, than after that we can just follow the route on map backwards to the airship station, and be back home to Beacon with more than enough time for me to surprise the girls.
Ren: Sounds good to me
Jaune: (Setting the map to pinpoint the locations) Got it, Let's go Team ARC!
Ren: (little annoyed) Just because we agreed on the name, doesn't mean I still have to like it. (Following Jaune and Cin)
The boys head off on Cinnabar's special mission, while having time for sight seeing city streets of Vales. Thanks to the Scroll, Team ARC easily found The Plush Zone. Cin was able to buy everything he was searching for, Jaune and Ren even bought a few things for Pyrrha and Nora too. At the The Plush Zone, Jaune found a teddy bear in gladiator armor for Pyrrha, Ren noticed a Grimm-themed puppy plush. Widening his eyes as he warily looks around before picking it up for Nora. After The Plush Zone, with Cin and Ren now holding paper bags, they quickly found the Sweet&Sour Bakery, they we're immediately in and out of the bakery doors.
Cin: Alright Team ARC, our mission is half complete now. (excited with achievement) Alright Jaune, lets head back to station.
Jaune: Right let's go. (Looking back at his scroll)
As the boys we're walking back to a park of the city, they've suddenly heard the musical sounds of rock and roll from the distance in the park.
Ren: (Catching the music first) You hear that?
Jaune: Sound like a band is preforming somewhere (looking into the park curiously, like the other boys are) Think we time to check and see who's preforming? (Looking at Cin)
Cin: Well... uh... (feeling unsure and easy)
Ren: I think it'll okay to make a small detour Cin. (trying to comfort him) we've made pretty good progress and have more than enough to caught the airship.
Cin: (Took a deep breath) Okay. (they start walking down to the park)
The park was pretty dark at night despite the bright lamppost brightening the paths. The park has pretty tall trees, with wide open trails for people walk around and several statures of Huntsmen and Huntresses posing heroically. Team ARC soon noticed a huge public stage near the heart of the park, where the mysterious band of three is preforming Tenacious D - To Be The Best to a very few number of people.
A Bear Faunus was wearing dark-blue gloves, black, zipper-lined shoes, a silver necklace, and a black undershirt with light blue designs of a bear, and his short, dark-blue fake leather vest and bears his emblem on the back. He also wears Dark-blue pants and two terry cloth wristbands with spikes on his left one. He was singing the Vocals of the song while playing a electric guitar.
A young tanned woman was wearing a skintight black bodysuit (through which the imprint of her navel and abs can be seen) gray diamond-shaped chest plate cut off above her lower abdomen, and placed over her shoulders are a pair of gray spaulders with rerebraces set under them. She also wears a pair of gray shorts with orange and black details, grey shin guards and sports shoes. She also seem to wear a gray fur belt above her shorts along with a black and orange glove on her left hand. She was beating the drums quite well.
Finally playing a bass guitar next to the lead singer, was a dark skinned woman, wearing a black-brown tank top and white shorts, with a red and white vest with flared red, black, and white sleeves, and wears netted socks with heavy duty sandals.
As the team took a liking to their music, they've noticed that some of the crowds wasn't too interested in their performance as they were.
Jaune: Dude! (enjoying the sounds of rock and roll) They're really good!
Cin: (looking around, seeing an unamused crowd) You think there would be more of a crowd, is it just that late to preform?
Ren: Maybe. (looking at the bear Faunus) but I think it's mostly because their singer is a Faunus, unfortunately, there's not alot of humans are too keen on the Faunus.
Cin: Right, right. (Watching the band preforming with such enthusiasm) At least they're having a good time. (taking a closer look at them.)
Jaune: (pulling out his scroll, and starting looking at the beacon profiles) Is it me or they seem familiar. (The band member's profiles appeared on the screen)
Cin: That's... (finally recognizing them) ...That's my Team! and they're a Band?!
After Bloo Grijalee, Ricochet Tiri, Tenné Khaki finally finished the performance, they we're given only a few numbers of claps of applause, mostly from Team ARC, as they we're now the only people still present by the stage.
Bloo: Alright! (saying farewell to the unamused bystanders leaving) Thanks for coming by!
Rico: Well at least some guys appreciate our song. (Addressing to Team ARC)
As soon Tenné looked at Team ARC, she immediately noticed Cinnabar with Jaune and Ren. She let Bloo hold on to her bass guitar and jumped off the stage, leaving Bloo and Rico confused. The boys noticed Tenné's quick approach towards them, making the boys feel a bit uneasy. Tenné, was focused on Cin, not noticing Jaune and Ren. She leans in to look at his face, making Cin's cheeks blush red.
Tenné: Are you... Cinnabar Caliburn?
Cin: Uh... (smiling sheepishly, answering her question with a: ) ...Hello.
Tenné: (she "gasp" and smile with excitement and twinkles in her eyes) It's you! It's really you! (She grabs Cin's arm) Come on! They're not gonna believe that you're here!
Cin: (Blushing red) Um... (saying timidly: ) ...Okay.
Jaune and Ren we're flabbergasted that Cin was almost being dragged away by Tenné, who wanted to introduce him to her best friends.
Jaune: (Confused, he turn to Ren) Um, Ren... what just happened?
Ren: I'm... (Confused as well, turning back to Jaune) ...Just as confused as you are, Jaune.
Jaune and Ren follow suit to still keep watch on Cin.
Tenné: Bloo! Rico! do you know who this is?! (showing off a shy Cin)
Bloo was unsure, only replying with a simple "Uh..." While Rico was scanning Cin with her eyes, almost recognizing him.
Tenné: This is Cinnabar Caliburn! The student that helped us get to stay in Beacon.
Bloo: Seriously?!
Rico: It Is him! (running to greet Cin, with Bloo following close by) How did he know we we're here, could it be his semblance?
Bloo: (talking to Rico) Maybe it a greater force telling him we would be here.
Cin: (A thought just came to his mind) Wait, wait, hold on for a moment please (trying to get their attention) how do you know guys know me already, did Ozpin tell you?
Tenné: Actually he did, he told us what you had to go through in the Emerald Forest all on your own... (finally noticing Jaune and Ren) ...almost on your own. (She walks over to them) Did I ignore you guys, (She started blushing, bashfully rubbing her arm embarrassed) I'm so sorry if I did, I just got too excited see Cin here of all places.
Jaune: No, no, it's fine, we're just as surprised to see you all here as you guys are (extending his hand for a handshake) I'm Jaune Arc.
Ren: Lie Ren. (extending his hand, as well)
Tenné: Tenné Khaki... (accepting the handshakes) And these two are my best friends in the whole world. (making Bloo and Rico, blushing red) Bloo Grijalee...
Bloo: S'up (offering both Jaune and Ren, unintentionally hard fist bumps)
Tenné: ...and Ricochet Tiri.
Rico: Call me Rico for short.
Cin: (He added with a smile) Call me Cin for short. (Happy to see himself getting along with his new teammates) So did you guys just came to Vale today?
Bloo: You got it! We we're actually planning to surprise you tomorrow in Beacon.
The second mention of Beacon, suddenly made Team ARC remember that they would have to be at the Airship station soon, or they'll miss their ride back home.
Janue: Ah man! We're suppose to be at the Airship station by now!
Rico: (scoff) No sweat, Jaune (she pulls out her scroll) I've made the perfect route for the three of us to get to the station in time, now it'll be good for six of us.
Tenné: Just let us get a few things and we'll go to the station.
Cin: Okay, sure.
Team ARC's new friends quickly went back to the stage to pick up their bags.
Ren: They seemed... nice enough
Jaune: Think you'll okay being them for the rest of the years in Beacon, Cin?
Cin: I... (feeling a little nervous) I really hope so, I think I'll be okay, I just hope Team RWBY will be okay. (Remembering he'll have to leave Team RWBY's Dorm room.)
Some time later, Cin, Jaune, Ren, Tenné, Bloo, and Rico we're now aboard the large Vale Airship to Beacon. Cin was showing Bloo and Tenné the friends he'd made on his scroll.
Bloo: Okay, Okay, so let get this straight, you've been staying for two weeks with them?! (pointing at the profiles of Team RWBY, in disbelief Cin was living with four attractive young ladies)
Cin: Well... Yeah, I have. (showing his three new friends that gift bags) The reason why me and others went to Vale was because I wanted to give each a gift for letting me stay with them and watching me.
The two girls "aww" hearing how sweet Cin was to do such a thing.
Rico: you should take lessons from him Bloo, he know how treat ladies more properly. (slightly scolding at him)
Cin: I just hope they'll like them
Tenné: I'm sure they'll love it Cin, you really want to repay them, they'll be very happy they took in someone as decent of you (giving Cin a confident smile)
Cin: (smiling back at her)
Jaune: So Tenné... (curious about something else) What happened when you guys first tried to arrive to Beacon, what of Grimm attacked you guys, if that's okay to ask that is?
Before Tenné could answer Jaune's question, Bloo started shredding his electric guitar, catching everyone else's attention.
Bloo: What indeed, young man (trying to be poetic) for it is a tale of epic proportion; as we've-
Rico: Bloo! (interrupting the Bloo's monologue, Pressuring Points on her head for Headaches from the sudden guitar solo) It's getting super late, and I'am tired! I'm sorry, but we have save that story for later, okay? (the late hours of traveling and preforming finally take it's toll)
Bloo: (huffing like a spoiled child) fine... Whatever
Tenné: We'll have tell you later, Jaune. (she started to yawn, covering her mouth while stretching) it is pretty late.
Jaune: Oh sure, no problem. (Jaune started to catch the yawn bug too)
The ship were soon about to dock toward the entrance of the school, docking at the entrance of the school. As soon as one lands, walk out of the ship and head down the paved path to the front of the school, where the boys we're suddenly surprised to see Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch was also waiting for the arriving party to come back from Vale.
Ozpin: Well this is definitely such a surprising turn of events, It seem you've already met your Team, Cinnabar, Welcome Team CBRT, to Beacon academy.
Tenné, Bloo, & Rico: (as they take in the entirety of Beacon Academy) "Wow..." (Cin smiled seeing his team was in awed of Beacon)
Glynda: Not only that, your new dorm room has been finished early for reestablishment, so Team CBRT can start making their way into their new room.
Ozpin: Do you wish to start moving into your room now, Mr. Caliburn?
Cin: Now? (nervously shocked, and started to mumble) I actually was uh-
Tenné: (seeing Cin not ready to leave his other friends yet, she steps in for him) -Actually, Professor Ozpin, sir, we'd be just fine if Cin could at least stay Team RWBY for the last remaining two nights he was supposed to, besides he planned a surprise for them, for letting him stay with them.
Ozpin soon noticed the bags of gifts he's carrying from Vale.
Ozpin: Understandable, you can stay for the last two nights, while getting accustom to your new team, Glynda can show you three to your new dorm room.
Cin: Thank you for that, Tenné, I just wasn't ready to say leave to Ruby, Yang, Blake, and Weiss... not just yet anyway.
Tenné: Of course Cin, you're too attached to them, but they'll be proud to know when you are ready to be with us, besides, I'm pretty sure they won't want to let you go that easily.
Bloo: We'll be sure to check up on you and hope you introduce us to your lady friends later tomorrow.
Rico: Yeah, It'll be awesome to see the rest of your friends later, Cin
Tenné: But for now, we should be going now, but we'll see tomorrow, right?
Cin: Right, goodnight guys
Tenné, Bloo, & Rico: Night! (in unison)
Glynda: Alright, If you please? (Starts walking her way back to the academy, insisting Tenné, Bloo, and Rico to follow her, which they do)
Tenné turned to gave Cin a cute playful wink before following Glynda, making him blush, it was soon back to just Team ARC again.
Jaune: Well, we better head back to home, Ren, we'll see you later Cin, thanks for letting us come along with you.
Ren: It was quite the evening, Cin, you better get hurry back home too if you wish to get ready surprised the girls, & till next time. (Jaune and Ren started headed back to their room carrying gifts for their teammates as well, waving bye to Cin, who waves back)
Cin: Bye guys, thanks for everything! (He than started running back to his room too, excited to get things set up.)
Team RWBY was heading back home to their room, calling it a night for them.
Ruby: I wonder how the guys are doing on their first night out?
Weiss: Who knows, It's hard to tell what those boys are up to.
Blake: You think they're back from Vale by now?
Yang: Don't worry, Blake if they we're in real trouble, Cin would have call for us immediately.
Blake: I guess that's true. (Still feeling a bit concerned for him and the other.)
As Team RWBY stepped into the room, they've suddenly noticed a gift box on top of each of the girl's bed.
Ruby: Oh! (rushing to her bed and shaking her gift box insanely happy) What's in it?! What's in it?! What's in it?!
Weiss: Ruby don't touch it, you don't where it's been
Ruby: But the tag says it from Cin.
Weiss: (looked at the tag on her present) Well.. okay than.
Blake: I wonder what's the occasion for this?
Yang: Well, only one way to find out! (believing it might be a comeback prank)
Team RWBY we're flabbergasted as they've finally got to see what Cin bought for them.
For Yang, she got two plush bee gloves with a tag with the word "Stingers" written on it.
Yang: You two will be perfect for pillow fights! (swinging her punches with her new bumble gauntlets)
For Blake, she has a black plush cat with reading glasses and reading a small book with the tag saying "Sir Readingtom"
Blake: Aren't you a new adorable reading buddy.
For Ruby she pulls out a giant plush lumberjack axe, with the tag "Chomper" with great joy.
Ruby: (gasp) I love it!.
For Wiess, her heart melts to see a lovely plush white fox with blue collar and the tag saying "Madame Diamond Dust".
Weiss: Oh Cin, she's lovely. (spoke under breath & deeply touched)
As the team turned their heads to Cin walking back into the room from the hallway (Taking a deep breath to control his emotions before walking in), only for the girls to soon see him, holding a small plate with five cupcakes, spelling out "RWBYC" in colorful icing, in the colors reflecting the girl's colors.
Cin: I... Um... (Placed the tray on top of the bookcase) ...Thought I could give you guys a little something to remember me by whenever I have to be in my new room, and be a part of Team CBRT, and...Soon Team RWBYC will be Team RWBY.
The girls we're on the verge of tears for Cinnabar's gifts and acts of kindness towards them. Yang and Weiss was the first ones to hug Cin tightly, both heavily touched.
Yang: I'm sorry for all those pranks I've puled from before, I only did cause I knew I'd never get the chance to do these thing I'd love to do... (tears starts dripping) ...To a little brother.
Weiss: Cin, your gift to me means so much more than anything, I've ever gotten back to home, thank you so much, Cin.
Ruby: (took Cin by the wrist) Cin, we have something for you too. (Placed him on Blake's bed for him sit down on)
Weiss pulls out a box from under her pillow and gives it to a surprised Cin. He opened it to soon see it was a album. Cin opened to see while a few but meaningful pictures of the times he'd with Team RWBY and with Team JNPR. The girls had never a young man so overcome with emotions, as Cin was now the verge of tears too.
Blake: (Put's her hand on his shoulder, she wipes away a tear away from her face) Don't think that these are the only pictures, we're ever gonna take, Cin, we'll be making many more memories like theses in the future.
Weiss: Cin, you can always come back here, anytime you need to see any of us.
Yang: Because, no matter where you go, Cin, you'll always be a part of our team.
Ruby: Yang's right, Cin, No matter what, you'll always be Team RWBYC to us.
They've embraced Cin, and hugged him tightly, as they we're all so very thankful that a kind & humble soul like Cin's had came into their lives.
Cin: (crying) I love you all, so much.
Blake & Weiss: (started crying as well) Oh Cin!
Ruby & Yang: (bawling) We love you too!
Those last words finally broke the girls down as they all started crying tears of great joy and love.
The final scene cuts to the moon shines over the green lights of Beacon, as Team RWBYC cries of joy and love can be heard in the echoes.

This is my first attempt of a original chapter, and I really you guys can like a appreciate it the hard work thinking it all down. I'm sorry if there wasn't any action scenes going on in this chapter, it would just be too much to think of and handle on my own, and took a bit thinking of it all out and typing it, and Please don't be harsh at it. This story would be having it set before the real episode 7: Jaunedice.
I really hoped this is at least a pretty good introduction for my OC team, and might take a little break until the working on the next chapter, and I can understand if this does seem a little rushed, but hope you find the ending very touching and sweet as I try to make it to be.
I'll see about adding more action scenes in upcoming Chapter 8: Forever Fall; basically a mix of episode 7: Jaunedice and episode 8: The Forever Fall

Here a question for the reviews: While I'm still (Yet could use some help) working on a Weapon for Bloo, Here's a question for the future volumes, Do you think Cin could be adopted by Yang and Ruby's Family, the Belladonnas, or maybe have a long-lost older sister arriving for Cinnabar later (After Cin would be adopted)? It's something I've been thinking about for a while now.
I also originally planed for Cinnabar and Ruby Rose to later have a romantic relationship, but I would later start seeing that Cin would later see Ruby more of a respected leader and possible sister figure instead, mostly due to the fact that while I was thinking of ideas for Tenné in future events, I'd realized she could be perfect to possible be Cin's future soulmate But with that being said.
I do also see romantic potential with Weiss Schnee, due to their interests and connections with Dusts and basically make it a Veronica/Betty situation. Cin is growing up so it pretty hard to say who Cin will ultimately choose to be with, and I know it's early but I was curious on what you guys would think who Cin could fall smitten for, before I set anything in stone.
