![]() Author has written 16 stories for Doom, Diablo, Quake, and Warcraft. Greetings! I am an oldschool gamer/nerd from Bulgaria, a country in the southeastern corner of Europe. I have always had a very vivid imagination and constantly made up various stories on all kinds of topics. Sometimes I build entire imaginary worlds of my own - e.g. an alternate reality version of my home town. I think I might turn this into a novel some day, which would be my first independent work. I am currently working as a translator and a database administrator. I also have a penchant for rhetoric and persuasive speaking, as well as acting. My greatest ambition is to become a writer and I hope that some day I will be able to publish a book... preferably a sci-fi horror novel. The author I admire the most is Isaac Asimov - his books have given me much food for thought and inspiration. Besides, I believe many of the things he wrote about will come true - in full or partially (like the society described in The Caves of Steel). My gaming hobby is one of those little things that add color to an otherwise bleak world, and I believe games undoubtedly are a form of art (considering that they combine visual design, animation, modelling, architecture, acting and music into one). I consider the 1990's to be the Golden Age of gaming, and most games in my collection are from that period (many of them need DOS Box). Old classics running at the shocking resolution of 320x200! Apogee and id Software games are my speciality :) I love classic shooters and Doom is my all-time favorite, as I grew up with it. It has inspired me greatly, so it was no surprise that my first attempts at fan fiction were based on it. Most of it is various short stories and fragments, but there are several larger works as well (like the Gatekeeper's Chronicles, which was my first real large-scale project, and later the Encyclopedia Daemonica, which was the project in which I invested the most time). I also have the honor of being one of the admins at the Quake Wiki - if you happen to like the series, drop by and say hello to Vorknkx. The Guide to id Software Game Characters - another project of mine, though I haven't uploaded it here because it relies heavily upon images. It's an explorative study of various fictional characters from id Software's game worlds. And if you're Bulgarian - добре дошъл и приятно четене :) |
