As a fair warning ahead of time, I haven't bothered reading the 100 year quest arc. As far as I am concerned Fairy Tail ended after Zeref and Acnologia were defeated. There wasn't really a point to continuing the story, at least from my perspective. But as this is fanfiction, and technically an AU, I can twist things around to use characters from the arc now. Which I what I've done as you will see later on (side note: I at least looked the characters up to make sure I portrayed them properly, though I will be changing one characters design as I don't like it).

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Fairy Tail. I do not own these characters. I do not own the story idea, at least not entirely. Then again, someone else may have had the same ideas I did. Eh, how about I don't own anything in this story. Is that a good enough disclaimer?

Chapter 5.

The Guild and The Slayers Mission

Natsu and Cana stood in front of the guild hall. Happy was floating along beside the pink haired man while Cana held the carrier that Koharu was in. Not surprisingly the little girl was squirming around unhappily at being kept in the carrier.

Neither of the two mages felt ready to just walk in like they had originally planed to.

"All of a sudden this seems so much harder."

Cana said, causing Natsu to nod in agreement. After another couple minutes of just standing there, Natsu sighed.

"We can't just stand here all day."

Mind made up he took a step towards the door causing Cana to follow him. Of course just to be safe, Natsu only cracked it open to peak in. The guild didn't seem to be as rowdy as normal considering the brawl in the center of the room was only five people instead of the usual eight or nine. Luckily he spotted the guild master sitting at the bar.

"Well should things spiral out of control at least gramps will be able to reign everyone in."

He muttered before turning to Cana. She swallowed slowly before nodding to him. Taking it as an agreement, he threw open the doors. It wasn't as wildly as he normally would, but it did catch the attention of most of the people in the room.

Determined not to let their nerves stop them Natsu and Cana strolled into the hall as if it were normal for them to be together. It was Erza that noticed the baby carrier first. Using her magic to pull a sword out of her dimensional storage, she pointed it dead at Natsu.

"What the heck did the two of you do?"

There was just a bit of heat to her voice, causing most of the people in the room to flinch and think that Natsu was in for a beating. It wasn't until they had looked over Cana twice that everyone else noticed the baby.

"Put the sword away Erza."

Cana's voice cut through the air with surprising force. Natsu was the only one that didn't look stunned that Cana had stood up to Erza. But the redheaded knight ignored her, instead moving closer. Instinctively Natsu shifted his body to block the Re-equip mages sight of Cana and Koharu before a low growl tore through his throat.

"Either put the sword away or point it somewhere else before you piss me off Erza."

His voice sounded positively feral as he spoke, causing everyone in the room to back away as they suddenly felt wary.

"Answer my question Natsu."

Erza shot back after a moment.

"The answer should have been obvious. Cana and I adopted a baby together. Now put the sword away before I break every bone in both of your arms."

Rather than react to his threat, Erza just stood there.

"That wasn't anywhere near enough details to satisfy my question."

As the redhead responded she lower the sword slightly, but it was still pointed at Natsu, as if demanding that he answer her properly.

"Do you really think so little of us Erza? Of course we plan to explain why we adopted Koharu. Now put the damn sword away already!"

Cana almost shouted as she sat down at the closest table and lifted the slightly distressed child out of the carrier. The entire time she was moving, Natsu moved with her, keeping himself between them and Erza.

Slightly upset with herself for jumping to conclusions Erza put the sword away, but she still glared at Natsu. No matter what the reasons may be, she was a bit disappointed that Natsu and Cana had gone through with adopting a child without getting advice or help from the rest of the guild first.

"I had wanted to take a job, but Gajeel had warned me to either not take it, or not to go alone. Wanting to get another opinion on it I asked Natsu about the job. He said the same thing. But I wanted the reward so I took the job anyway and he decided to accompany me."

Cana started to tell the story.

"We weren't quite fast enough however. A couple of wyverns had moved into the area and were claiming it as their territory. I sent Cana and Happy ahead to evacuate people while I dealt with the first one we came across. But then I had to rescue her from the second one."

Natsu commented, still standing protectively between Erza and Koharu.

"We decided to check in with the people who Happy had gotten to the nearby hospital. I ended up having to stay overnight because of how roughed up I had gotten."

Cana picked back up before sighing.

"While we were there, we learned that there was a little girl that had been orphaned by the attack. They wyvern being nearby had cause her magic to start awakening, but Happy got her to safety before it fully woke up."

Several of the older wizards in the room flinched at that. Partially active magic was dangerous. The person in question would have no control over their magic, nor could they practice and learn to control it.

"Her magic was reacting to her emotions and she had thrown up a wall of heat that made it impossible for anyone to get to her. Except Natsu. He managed to calm her down and after talking with the doctor, he realized what had happened."

"Because her magic was forcefully activated by a fire wyvern, to finish the job and fully activate it, she would need to spend a lot of time around a natural Fire mage that was just as powerful as the wyvern."

Natsu told the guild, getting a few nods of understanding. This time rather than Erza speaking up it was Lucy.

"So you need to spend time with her. Why not take her to a nearby orphanage and visit as often as you can?"

Natsu, and several others shot her a dirty look. But it was Mira that answered the blonde.

"Because there is no magical orphanage. Without a mage nearby to help contain the magic outbursts, she is too much of a danger to non mages."

"Why didn't you contact us and ask for advice?"

Erza questioned.

"What would be the point? There were two options in front of us. Ignore the situation, or do what we could. As a Fairy Tail wizard you know that there was no way we'd ignore what was in front of us."

Cana answered as Koharu began to relax in her arms.

"You know, she's got a point Erza. Besides Fairy Tail always helps each other. I know you're probably worried that neither one of them are mature enough to be parents, but they won't be doing this alone."

Mira said after a moment of silence. It was clear to them all that Natsu and Cana would raise the baby with or without Fairy Tails help. But it was also obvious they would prefer to have the help of their friends and family.

"Mira's right. For what it's worth Natsu and Cana have my full support."

Makarov commented, pleased to see that the new parents had managed to avoid a confrontation with the others. Of course he knew that there were a few that still didn't think it was a good idea, but they wouldn't say anything now that he'd given his say on the matter.

"Thanks gramps."

Natsu commented as he and Erza both let go of all the tension they'd had in their bodies, with the redhead sending her sword back to her dimensional storage. Once they realized that things had calmed down again, most of the girls in the guild swarmed around Cana wanting to see the baby. Strangely Lucy wasn't one of the group that crowded around Koharu, instead she just stood there staring in shock.

"She's so cute!"

Mira practically squealed as she took a seat beside Cana. The sound caused Koharu to turn towards the white haired woman and babble back.

"Ha-ga dabu?"

Cana who had one eye on Koharu and the other on the rest of the ladies, just barely refrained from laughing. If it weren't for the fact she was already holding her daughter, she was certain a few of them would be trying to hold her as they all loved cute things.

Natsu didn't join the huddle of girls, but he did stick fairly close. Makarov and some of the older guys smirked when they saw how attentive he was being. 'Given how he interacts with Romeo, it should have been obvious that he had strong parental instincts' The guild master thought to himself as he finished off his drink. Leaning over the counter he refilled his mug, and then made a second one, with a non-alcoholic drink, and walked over to the Fire Dragon Slayer.

"How are you handling the changes Natsu my boy?"

He inquired after joining Natsu on the bench the pink haired man had sat on.

"Honestly? I think this will be a good experience for me."

Natsu replied as he took the drink that he was offered.

"It may well be, but that doesn't mean it'll be easy."

"The best things in life never are."

Had anyone else been listening in they might have been shocked by the profound statement Natsu had made. But Makarov, knowing that Natsu was far, far more than everyone thought he was just smiled.

"For some reason that reminds me. Are you able to tell me about why you went back to the home you had with Igneel?"

"He had placed a seal that I wasn't strong enough to break. But because of how Dragon Slayer magic works, after I put down those wyverns I was strong enough. Really without talking to the scrap heap and Wendy first I don't think I can tell you anything else."

Makarov just shrugged, knowing it wasn't because of a trust issue.

"Fair enough. Now, since I have to edit the records, what is your new address? I forgot to ask Happy yesterday."

Because of how nonchalantly Natsu and Cana were acting about the situation, the guild slowly returned to normal. When Koharu started to yawn in her arms Cana figured it was time to move. They ended up staying at the guild for about an hour, but it was getting close to nap time for the baby, and they wanted her to get used to the crib. Natsu had also heard her yawn thanks to his acute sense of hearing.

"Well we've got to get the little one home for her nap. We'll see you guys later."

Natsu commented as he grabbed the diaper bag that Cana had set on the floor next to her, as the brunette put Koharu in her carrier. Just as they began making their way towards the exit, the doors swung open and revealed Gajeel.

"Oh, good timing metal-freak. I've got something I need your opinion on. Come find me after you've reported in about your job."

Natsu told his fellow Dragon Slayer. A lot of the guild was shocked by the fact that Natsu admitted to needing Gajeel's opinion.

"Natsu why didn't you ask us?"

Lucy wondered gesturing to herself and Erza. She would have included Gray in the gesture but he was out on a solo job.

"Because it has absolutely nothing to do with you. Das ist schließlich Drachentöter-Geschäft."

Natsu answered her without even looking away from Gajeel. Even if Natsu hadn't spoken in Dracolith, The Iron Dragon Slayer would have seen the importance of the matter in Natsu's eyes. So he bit back his retort, which would have brushed the matter off as not worth his time.

"Alright fine, I'll check in with you later on Salamander."

Natsu just nodded his head before walking out the door with Cana at his side.

"What the hell was that?"

Lucy screeched after she recovered from flinching at whatever it was that Natsu had said at the end. Gajeel just glared at her, finding the sound quite annoying.

"That was the language of the dragons. Or are you talking about how Salamander brushed you off. If so then my answer is the same as his. Clearly whatever he wants to talk about is something for Dragon Slayers only."

- XXxxXxXxxXX-

It wasn't until after Natsu and Cana had put Koharu to bed for the night, that Gajeel came to see him like he'd said he would. Given the fact that Natsu had warned him it was Dragon Slayer buisness, the Iron Dragon Slayer caught Wendy's attention when she returned to the guild and told her about it as well.

They were walking up the pathway towards Natsu and Cana's home when Wendy spoke up.

"Do you know what Natsu want's to talk about?"

"No clue. But it's going to be serious considering he told me it was dragon slayer buisness in Dracolith."

Despite not having been around the guild as long as Natsu or Gajeel, Wendy knew that they didn't speak the dragon tongue unless it was important.

Of course given the fact they could smell Natsu, neither one of them were surprised to see him standing on the porch waiting for them when they finally entered the clearing that the house was in.

"What's up Salamander?"

Gajeel asked. Instead of speaking Natsu just reached into his pocket and pulled out a letter. Without a word he handed it over to the Iron Dragon Slayer, knowing that Wendy would read it when he was done. He was proven right when Wendy caught the letter after the dark haired man let go of it in shock.

Wendy read through the letter with Carla reading it over her shoulder, and both of them had gone pale.

"I don't believe it."

The white cat muttered. She was just as stunned as Wendy, though a small part of her thought that Natsu was pulling a prank on them.

"I'd hand you the books that Igneel mentioned that Grandeeney had lent him, but I haven't had the time to look through everything yet. I promise I'll get them to you as soon as I can Wendy."

Natsu said as he recalled the line about giving them to Grandeeney's slayer child.

"It… It's fine Natsu."

the blue haired girl responded shyly.

"What are you going to do Salamander?"

Gajeel jumped in having recovered for himself.

"I'm going to do like Igneel suggested and then take the Trial of Dragons. As far as I know it's the best way to get some answers about all this."

"Alright. But you sure as hell ain't doing it alone."

"Of course not. You might not want to admit it out loud, but you know as well as I do that you, Wendy, and I have formed a den."

"Aren't you leaving someone out Natsu?"

Wendy commented, knowing she was right since she could smell Cana on him so strongly that she had a feeling they were mates.

"Until I've talked with her a bit more about what it means to be my mate I won't count Cana as part of our den. But even then, it would be five of us now since Cana and I adopted little Koharu."

Carla spluttered at that, instantly finding the idea absurd. But when Wendy smiled towards the pink haired man she didn't say anything.

"Does that mean you're going to stop pretending to be stupid and carefree?"

"Slowly of course. I wouldn't want people to think I'm pranking them. Especially since I've pretended to be that way for so long that everyone believes it."

"Good. I didn't like the fact that I could hear everyone at the guild calling you idiotic, childish, and immature all the time. It was upsetting to hear them say that about someone I look up to."

Natsu just chuckled in response and reached out to ruffle her hair.

"Let people talk. It doesn't hurt anything."

"How long do you think it'll take you to prepare for the Trial of Dragons?"

Wendy asked after a moment, steering them back onto the more important topic.

"I don't know. Honestly I haven't decided what to do about the lacrima either."

"I'd suggest using it. Not only will it increase the size of your magic container, but you'll gain the ability to use magic in situations where you can't use fire."

Gajeel suggested.

"True. But you saw what Igneel said. I'd have better control if I learned the magic first and then used the lacrima. If I were to do it, that's the way I'd go. The problem is I'm not sure who I can ask."

"I'm sure you could find someone that can help."

Wendy commented before yawning. Considering it was getting late Natsu just smiled softly.

"Fair point. Anyway, I just wanted to share Igneel's letter with you two and see what you thought of it."

"I'm all for believing your pops on this. At least until we can find some way to confirm it for ourselves."

"Right. It'd be nice to get some proof, but I don't think Igneel would lie to you about something like this."

The Iron and Sky Dragon Slayers commented.

"Of course. Now I don't have anything else I wanted to talk about and it's rather late, so I'm going back inside and heading to bed. Night you guys."

Natsu told them after yawning.

"Night Natsu."

"Good night."

"Night."

Came the responses from Wendy, Carla, and Gajeel and in that order.

- XXxxXxXxxXX-

The next day after going about their morning routine, Natsu started to organize the stuff from Igneel's hoard. Since a lot of it was really rare and old, he used magic to hide part of the basement so it could be used to store the stuff that he couldn't let anyone find out about. Because he was a slow reader he just grabbed one book from Igneel's collection for him to start reading. Of course the four book set that he promised to give to Wendy were also pulled out and set to the side for him to take to the guild.

Despite the fact it was information that really shouldn't be shared with non Dragon Slayers, Natsu decided to have Makarov read Igneel's letter as well. Though he doubted it, Natsu thought it wouldn't hurt to see if the guild master might know someone that could help him find out how much time he had before Igneel's prediction of him becoming a dragon came to pass.

So when he finished with putting everything where he wanted it, the stack of books he'd set aside were tossed into his bag and he joined Cana and Koharu in the living room.

"Read to head out?"

"Yeah."

With that they returned to the guild. Makarov was busy in his office with paperwork, so Natsu decided to wait before seeing what the old man thought about Igneel's letter. Instead he handed off the books to Wendy and started reading the one he had grabbed for him.

Cana and Koharu were right next to him as he read. Once more the Cards mage found herself surrounded by the other women of the guild, and even a few of the guys who wanted to get a better look at the little one.

It wasn't until Gray entered the guild and made a beeline for Natsu that anything interesting happened. Rather than responding himself, Natsu ducked so Cana could extend her arm towards Gray, tossing a card at him with a huff.

"Cards Dimension"

With a flash of light Gray was trapped in the card.

"What the hell?!"

Everyone heard his voice, distorted thought it was.

Natsu gently took Koharu into his lap as Cana stood to move over towards the card on the floor.

Flipping it over she looked down at Gray with a frown.

"Shut up Gray."

The edge to her voice caused him to look up in confusion.

"Had you actually hit Natsu you would have hurt Koharu."

She growled, not knowing that Gray wasn't present the previous day and had no idea what she was talking about.

"Who the fuck is Koharu?"

Gray shot back. The few guild members in the room that were parents shook their heads. Even if they didn't watch their language as a child grew up, most adults at least attempted to curb their language in front of babies.

"Natsu, you've got Koharu for a bit. I'm going to take Gray here and teach hims some manners."

The brunette called over her shoulder before leaving the guild with the trapped Gray. Natsu just shook his head and laughed.

"Your uncle Gray is about to be in big trouble."

He told Koharu who was sitting in his lap and staring towards the door. The sound of his voice drew her attention to his face. She giggled as she poked at his nose causing him to laugh.

"That tickles!"

With one hand he folded down the corner of the page he was reading and closed his book before giving his full attention to Koharu. As they played a few of the guild members that were still on the fence about him and Cana adopting and raising a child were swayed towards supporting them. It was a very cute scene, capable of melting even the coldest of hearts.

When Cana and Gray entered the guild hall again the Ice-make mage was rather pale. Slowly he walked up to Natsu.

"Sorry I almost knocked you into Koharu and hurt her flame-brain."

Cana felt her eyes narrow at the insult, but she didn't say anything. After all she was certain there wasn't anyone in Magnolia that didn't know about their rivalry.

"It's fine stripper. Just be more attentive from now on. Speaking of attentive, it's almost lunch time and Koharu needs her nap afterwords so I think we'll leave for the day."

The pink haired man commented as he slide over on the bench to place Koharu in her carrier. Before he could get too far however the voice of the guild master called out.

"Cana can handle that Natsu. I've got a job for you specifically."

He sounded rather tired, but Natsu was also able to pick up on the hesitance in the guild masters voice.

"Alright, I'll be up to your office to talk in a minute."

"Bring Carla, Gajeel, Happy, and Wendy up with you."

Makarov commented before turning away and walking back to his office from the railing on the second floor.

Natsu sighed as he handed both the baby carrier and the diaper bag over to Cana, asking her to take his book he'd been reading and put it on the shelf in their room back at the house.

"Alright. You be careful with whatever it is the master wants you to do."

The Cards mage commented as she hiked the diaper bag onto her shoulder so she could sling her arm around him in a hug. Natsu returned the gesture, leaning in and giving her a peck on the cheek as he did.

"We'll be fine."

The he squatted down a bit so he was eye level with Koharu in her carrier.

"You be good for mommy alright?"

The little girl frowned even as she reached out for him crying out "Daaaa!"

Somehow she was able to sense that he was leaving, and wouldn't be nearby. It was only in that moment that the guild realized just how used to having him nearby she really was. But they were stunned when he unwrapped his scarf from around his neck and tucked it into the carrier around the baby.

"You keep that safe for me."

He said softly before leaning in and kissing Koharu's forehead. She squirmed a bit, unhappy that he wasn't holding her, going so far as to pout when he walked away. But Cana was quick to distract her.

"Alright sunshine, let's go home."

She commented purposely adding a lilt to her voice as she began to sing a nursery rhyme that they had discovered the little one absolutely adored.

While Cana did that, Natsu motioned for his fellow dragon slayers and the two cats to follow him up to the masters office. As they entered Makarov motioned for the door to be shut behind them, before waving a hand and sealing the room so that no one outside could listen in.

"This is a request directly from the Magic Council."

He prefaced his the talk, knowing that it would make Natsu pay more attention. Even Gajeel leaned in at the words.

"Due to the rising of dark guilds the world over, the magic council has called for a meeting between the guild masters of some of the most famous guilds in the world. You were specifically asked to be the escorts for one guild master in particular."

"They want us escorting you to the meeting?"

Natsu commented, feeling a bit disappointed.

"No. My escort for the meeting will be Gildarts when he returns, and Erza. Apparently it's become well known even outside of Ishgar that you three are Dragon Slayers, and one of the guild masters from the northern continent specifically asked if you would be tasked with escorting him from his ship in Hargeon to the meeting in Era."

"From Guiltina? Really?"

The idea of been known outside of Fiore was a bit strange, but to hear that that were known that far away was shocking.

"Yes. But the person that requested you as his escort isn't just anyone. No, you were requested by Elefseria, the guild master of the oldest guild in existence, Magia Dragon."

Of course he knew there attention would be drawn in when they heard the guild name. But Makarov was a bit stunned to see the three slayers share a look before nodding.

"We'll take the job. When do we leave?"

Natsu commented being the spokesman for the group.

"You'll need to be in Hargeon by noon tomorrow as that is when his ship is supposed to arrive."

Part of Natsu wanted to say they would just get up early and catch a train over to Hargeon, but he didn't. As nice as it would be to go home and spend some time with Cana and Koharu before leaving for this escort mission, he didn't think he'd make it in time. Not to mention the fact that the train ride was going to be hell. Instead he just closed his eyes and sighed.

"Let's take two hours to make sure we've got everything we need and then meet up at the train station then."

Even as he spoke Natsu was turning green at the thought of transportation. Gajeel paled a bit as well, but he nodded. Though he wanted to argue against the idea, he understood the importance of being on time (or early in this case).

"Alright. Come on Carla."

Wendy commented as she sprang up from her seat, eager to prepare. Natsu and Gajeel both stood far slower. They made brief eye contact and smiled ruefully at their shared misery over the upcoming train ride.

It wasn't until Natsu and Happy were almost back to his house to grab his travel bag that he realized he'd forgotten to have the master read Igneel's letter.

"Oh well. I can always have him read it later."

He shrugged to himself.

After a quick explanation to Cana, who frowned at the fact he had to go, Natsu made sure his bag was packed with everything he would need before meeting his girlfriend slash mate at the door.

"I don't know how long this will take, but I'll be back as soon as I can."

"I know you will. I just don't like the fact I can't go with you."

Cana said as they wrapped their arms around each other. Her face was buried in his chest, but he still understood her clearly enough.

"I don't like it either. I really wanted to take the time to make sure Koharu settled in well not just with us, but with the guild as well."

"Make sure you do your job and come back to us then."

Pulling back so he could tilt her chin up so they were face to face Natsu softly kissed her lips.

"I'll always come back to you."

Not really satisfied with the light kiss Cana threw her arms around his neck and kissed him with far more passion.

When they pulled apart she couldn't help but smirk at the breathless look on Natsu's face.

"That's how you kiss" she teased.

Shaking his head Natsu pulled himself back together.

"I'd give you another kiss but I've really got to go. You and Koharu stay safe."

- XXxxXxXxxXX-

The port in Hargeon was a rather boring place for the dragon slayers. But they knew it was best to be early just in case the ship had arrived earlier than scheduled. Aside from visiting the different fish mongers they really didn't have anything to do. So when they felt the absolutely enormous magical presence heading their way from the sea, all three of them perked up.

"It that's the ship then he's right on time."

Wendy commented as she checked the time. Natsu squinted and was just able to see the ship and make out the name 'S.S. Liberia.'

"That's the ship we're waiting for."

As they moved towards the docks Gajeel was rolling his neck.

"If this guy is that strong then we might have to do a thing for this job. His magical presence alone will probably scare everyone away."

Not quite walking out onto the docks to avoid being in the way, the three slayers got close enough to see everyone that walked off the ship after it was tied to the docks. The last person to walk off the ship looked around.

As they did the three slayers saw that it was a rather old looking man. He didn't have as many wrinkles as some of the oldest people they'd met, but he still seemed rather old. He wore a black magicians outfit with a crooked belt, leather arm guards, and iron shoulder pads. In his right hand was a golden staff that was smooth until the top third where it was patterned to look like a coiling dragon with a clear crystal orb resting just below the head of the dragon.

The moment he laid eyes on him, Natsu knew that the man was the person they were to escort. Of course he spotted them almost as quickly.

"You must be the three dragon slayers I requested as my escort. I'm Elefseria."

He introduced himself calmly as he walked up to them.

"Natsu Dragneel. Nice to meet you."

"Gajeel Redfox."

"I'm Wendy Marvell."

The three responded in kind. Happy and Carla were largely ignored, but given the way the four wizards were acting they were okay with not being the center of attention.

When he shook their hands, Elefseria saved Natsu for last, though he paused and grinned when their hands connected.

"I can sense that you're close to breaking through and becoming a 'True' Dragon Slayer."

All three of the Fairy Tail wizards were caught off guard by his words. Taking their silence for confusion Elefseria sighed before he started to explain.

"Dragon Slayer magic alters the body. With enough time, or if you reach a certain level of strength very quickly, it forces your body to reconstruct itself, making you into a dragon. Of course because your natural form is that of a human your magic will allow you to shape-shift between the appearances as you wish. It's actually a rather handy ability when it comes to traveling large distances."

Natsu felt his eyes narrow at the last thing that the man had said but he focused on what was important.

"We knew that. My father Igneel left me a letter explaining how the dragons sealed themselves inside of us to prevent us from becoming dragons. Though he did mention that if we became strong enough before they were done immunizing our bodies it would happen regardless. We were just caught off guard that you knew about it."

"Ah. I see. As for knowing about it, well of course I would. I'm a dragon slayer turned dragon. How else do you think I could found Magia Dragon and still be alive over a hundred and fifty years later."

Elefseria offered in an attempt to calm the Fire Dragon Slayer down. Knowing they needed to get moving, and realizing he didn't want to cause a scene Natsu let out a sigh as he gestured for them to start walking.

"I hope you don't mind if we avoid using trains to travel. Motion sickness hits the two of us pretty harshly."

He commented, pointing at himself and Gajeel.

"I've never really been a fan of trains myself, so that's fine with me. Now, I can tell you are trying not to cause a scene. How about this. We go about the day as if there is nothing going on, and tonight when we stop to rest I will answer whatever questions you have. Though I'll tell you right now I'm actively suppressing my draconic magic so as to avoid drawing unwanted attention."

Gajeel and Wendy both looked to Natsu at the offer. He was their alpha, and of the three of them, he was the one that needed answers the most. As they walked Natsu closed his eyes in thought. It really would be nice if this guy could help, but he wasn't sure. The process of becoming a dragon could differ between slayers. Eventually he made up his mind.

When he opened his eyes there was a fire burning inside them.

"I'd say that sounds like a plan to me."

As I said before, any time I use German as the stand in for the dragon language I will put the translation down here.

German: Das ist schließlich Drachentöter-Geschäft.

English: This is Dragon Slayer business, after all.
