AN: Gotta say, I loved how almost every review could be summed up with 'Emerald is dead…very, very dead'. Still though, just killing her? That would be…too easy. I intend for Percy to go Grecian on this shit.

AN2: To the people talking about personality flip I don't really see how it is. This Percy has already shown that he takes his work seriously but also has had moments where he's relaxed and joking, primarily when he's not working or in a fight. And to be fair Emerald already had access to most of the school thanks to her status as a visiting student, so she just had to pick a single lock.

A New god of Remnant

Chapter 15

-Salem-

Reclining in her throne, Salem observed the gathering of her four fully mortal disciples, having received a message from Hazel that there had been a development that required her attention. Judging by the looks he and Watts were giving Cinder the girl was likely going to get blamed for something. "You called this meeting Hazel, speak." Salem gestured as Cinder snapped a furious look towards Hazel at that statement.

"Cinder has endangered the entire operation." Hazel wasted no time "You warned us to be cautious around Jackson after his fight against the Grimm you sent. She has quite possibly brought his wrath upon us directly."

"You lying-" Cinder began before Salem cut her off.

"Explain, Hazel." Salem's tone was hard, wanting answers and wanting them now "Cinder decided to tell her pawns that she was the one in charge, lying about the presence of myself, Watts, and Tyrian while also hiding your own existence. She failed to even give orders to not antagonize Jackson. So, her pawn Emerald went and stole something that Jackson kept in a place of honor in his office, and then had the stupidity to bring it back here."

"Is it still there?" Salem demanded, not wanting to gain the attention of the other forming god just yet, not until she was sure of his full power or how to earn his loyalty away from Ozpin.

"I slipped it back into the stupid girl's bag." Watts assured her, "She should have it at the school now. We also told Cinder that you'd ordered this meeting to ensure she showed up and wouldn't make things worse should Jackson catch Emerald." Explained the dark looks Hazel was being given "The biggest issue I see currently is how to keep Cinder from ruining things further given that this will draw attention to her team."

"You made the correct choice then Hazel." Salem suppressed her smirk at seeing the wind getting torn out from under Cinder's sails before the volatile girl could explode at her 'teammates' "Are you aware if-" she heard a weak, but admittedly there, earthquake through the connection.

"What on Remnant?!" Watts flailed "Vale isn't on a Fault line! None of the Kingdoms are!"

"I would guess that Jackson learned of the theft." Salem's words had the four pale at the implications.

-Jaune-

"So, you're thinking Gravity Dust in the shield?" Jaune looked over the various sketches with Ruby as the two ate lunch, his fellow team leader helping him work on ideas to improve his weapons.

"Yeah!" Ruby was bouncing up and down eagerly "You really seem to like the old school Knight theme so Dust infusions to what you have would work best, 'spells' for the Knight ya know?"

"But what about my sword then? Fire?" Jaune chuckled and gave a cheeky grin "If I went Lightning Nora would probably keep stealing it."

"Yeah, that sounds like her." Ruby giggled in turn at the thought of their energetic friend "But Fire sounds good. Maybe a crossbow for range?"

"I am kind of…limited on that front right now." Jaune admitted with a wince as he and Ruby kept making more sketches. Before he could say anything else, an earthquake shook the campus, plates and cups rattling off the tables as everyone worked to find their balance from the tremors that, while not destroying the walls, were still enough to startle and scare. It ended after a few moments but the air itself still felt unusually charged and tense, like a hurricane would burst forth at any moment.

"The fucking hell was that?!" Yang shouted from where she and Blake were having their lunch in a different part of the cafeteria.

"Miss Xiao-Long!" Professor Goodwitch, who was observing things in the cafeteria, was less than amused at Yang's choice of language, Professors Port and Oobleck snickering behind the stern disciplinarian at Yang's paling face.

"What do you think-" Jaune began to ask what caused it, given the lack of fault lines in the area, when the massive doors to the dining hall slammed open, cracking the stone on either side as Professor Jackson stood in the opening, face a mask of blood chilling rage, his eyes locked on a green haired student from Haven. With a snarl, Percy lunged at the girl who leapt away wide eyed along with her gray-haired teammate.

"Get away from her!" Yang was now charging the professor along with Blake, both jumping at the excuse to attack the professor who they seemingly had a massive animosity for.

"Out of my way." Professor Jackson caught Yang's thrown punch, throwing her into Blake as he continued stalking towards the Haven student who was finding her exits blocked by ominous undulating walls of water.

"Percy, what the devil has gotten into you!" Professor Port shouted, trying to restrain Professor Jackson along with Doctor Oobleck to little success.

"That thief will pay!" Professor Jackson snarled, eyes blazing with rage as he lashed out, a whip of water shredding the green haired girl's bag as a distinct bronze dagger fell out. A dagger that every student of Beacon had seen in Professor Jackson's quarters in a place of distinct honor.

"…Just don't kill her." Port instantly let go of the enraged professor upon seeing the dagger, the faculty apparently knowing the significance of the blade.

"Peter!" Professor Goodwitch was less than agreeable to letting the furious professor beat the thief into a puddle of paste "Come Percy." The girl was suddenly floating in a firm telekinetic grip "Let's take her to Ozpin and get this settled without risking you going to prison, no?"

"Very well." Professor Jackson's breaths were harsh and ragged, but he seemed to be getting more control of himself as he tenderly collected the stolen dagger, eyes full of pain.

Nodding, Professor Goodwitch turned towards Yang and Blake who were still picking themselves off the floor after being thrown "And we will be having words later you two." The Professor stated, her tone broking no argument as she, Professor Jackson, and the apparent thief went to go find Ozpin.

"…I think I just peed myself." A shaken Sky Lark whimpered as soon as the door slammed close.

-Ozpin-

"WHAT?!" Percy snarled, part of the desk splintering under his grip as the young professor shot to his feet, the green haired thief, Emerald, looking partly smug, partly relieved at the news that Ozpin had just been forced to deliver.

"I'm not pleased about it either." Ozpin scowled, "But as Beacon Academy is not an autonomous government, we cannot pass trial ourselves. And since she is technically a citizen of Mistral the council states that they aren't going to bother with the matter as who she robbed wasn't even a Valean citizen."

"The council trying to get Professor Jackson under their authority." Glynda summed up easily, Percy's countenance darkening at that bit of news, Ozpin and James having already shared their concerns of the council trying to do such.

"It doesn't help that Leonardo sent over documents stating she was a registered Kleptomaniac." Ozpin glanced at the files, something about them feeling off "That it's 'beyond her control."

"So, you have to let me go?" Emerald spoke up, her smug confidence growing.

"Now when did I say that?" Ozpin let a bit of his own pent up frustration bleed into the dark smile he gave the girl who sent off all sorts of warning bells to him "The law states we cannot arrest you or deal any sort of punishment that would cause physical harm. That doesn't mean you're getting away Scott free."

"W-what?" Emerald's eyes widened "But Headmaster Lionheart-"

"Is your headmaster while at Haven." Ozpin stood, staring down at the girl "But you are currently at Beacon where he has no such authority. I shall leave your punishment to Professor Jackson."

"And I think I have just the thing." Percy's scowl was dark as he grabbed Emerald's head, his expression making Ozpin remember a story Percy had once shared about when a goddess of poison and misery had tried to have him and 'Annabeth' killed, tried to betray him, and he made her suffer for it. The strongest loyalty brings out the most ruthless vengeance when those one is loyal to are harmed or threatened.

"What are you doing?!" Emerald strained against Percy's much more powerful grip as the young professor's hand glowed with sea green light.

"I'm an educator am I not?" Percy's glow as growing brighter "I'm…providing an educational tool for you." Some strange symbols Ozpin didn't recognize appeared on the back of Percy's hand before the light faded and Emerald dropped to the floor "There, my punishment is in place. If you ever steal again, if you ever deceive to harm, or break the law again you'll find out just what it does."

The girl took that as a dismissal and bolted, the elevator shutting behind her shaken face "What did you do?" Glynda looked at Percy confused.

"I put a curse upon her." Percy glared at the door she'd left through as Ozpin felt chills at the term. "Should she ever steal, should she ever lie or deceive, should she ever commit any evil, treacherous, or dishonest act. Any form of trickery that wasn't for something like a spar or to protect an innocent, then my curse shall trigger. She will be forced to see visions of her greatest fears, her worst nightmares. She will feel every moment of those terrors but, as the council stated, she won't have a mark on her."

-Cinder-

"You idiot!" Cinder snarled, backhanding Emerald as the shaken girl stopped her thrashing, all of them back in the penthouse to get the report of what happened and test Jackson's curse. Sending Emerald to try and steal from Roman's cigar box that was kept around for when the thief came by to report sent the girl shaking and screaming in terror on the ground, thrashing and crying out until whatever had been done subsided.

"B-but Cinder!" Emerald stared at her with wide pleading eyes "I was just-"

"But nothing!" Cinder snarled, pacing back and forth through the room to try and think of how to salvage this, especially now that she'd been forced to tell Emerald and Mercury of Salem's existence and the real position the others held in the power structure. It was only made worse by the fact that Salem stated that the curse would be difficult for anyone with magic to remove, let along someone with Cinder's 'limited control' and even if she did succeed in removing it then Jackson would sense it being gone which would only draw more attention. "Damn you, Emerald." Cinder glared disdainfully at the trembling girl "You're useless to me now!"
