The next day, he got up early to make some fudge for the barbeque. It was easiest to make and he didn't want to do too much. Maybe he was just lazy, but he felt very tired. Maybe he should take a short nap. He was putting the fudge in the freezer when his vision blurred, and he fell, landing on the carpet, thankfully, passed out.

He slept three hours, his phone ringing constantly, but he couldn't wake up. When he did, it was long passed Marco's barbeque. He flew out and banged on his door. He opened it and looked angry, but then he saw Ace's freaked out face. "What's wrong?"

"I fell asleep."

"Wow."

"I… I was in the kitchen and I was making fudge, and I had just opened the fridge to put the chocolate in, and then I just fell. And passed out. My phone was right next to me, too, and I had seven missed calls. I'm really, really sorry. I don't know what happened. What if I'd hit my head?"

"Whoa, I'm not mad if that's what happened!" Ace was ashamed, too. He had wanted to go to the barbeque. He said he felt really guilty. "It's not like you slept in or anything. Maybe you should go to the doctor about it," Marco suggested. The dreaded words. The doctor.

Ace hadn't gone to the doctor in who knows how long. He managed to get over the counter medicine all the time, preferring to just treat himself instead of the mental nightmare that would be figuring out how to lie somehow so he didn't need to give insurance or anything. He had no medical insurance because he was afraid he'd get caught if he tried.

He also took impeccable care of his teeth every day so he didn't need to go to the dentist. He frowned deeply, and Marco saw that. "I think I'll just ask Recovery Girl about it on Monday. Maybe I just didn't get enough sleep, or am stressed about the sports festival. I'll be fine," he said, summoning his lying ability. "I was looking forward to the food and meeting your family, too. Cause you talk about them so much."

Marco looked at him in sympathy. "We can always have another one some other time." Ace still felt bad. He nodded, and said he was going to call Sabo. Maybe he could stay over and monitor Ace if he passes out again. "Take care of yourself. And go to the doctor if you have to."

"I'm really sorry."

"I forgive you, seriously. Don't worry so much. I'm not mad, promise," Marco said, face and voice sincere. Ace swallowed and nodded. But he was scared. He had a bad feeling. He couldn't go to the doctor, and if he was sick and needed meds, he had no idea what to do. He'd need a prescription. And he couldn't go in as an adult because then the diagnosis wouldn't be accurate.

Marco obviously saw the deep fear and worry on his face, and hugged him. "It'll be okay," he said, patting his back. Ace nodded, and flew home, to next door. The moment he got on the couch, he called Sabo.

"How'd the barbeque go?" he asked brightly.

"I missed it. Can I come over for the night? There's something that happened and I have a bad feeling about it," Ace said. Sabo was worried instantly, and said of course he could go over. Ace got his things for the night in a backpack and flew to Sabo's house, scared he'd pass out and fall to his death, but he felt fine and landed safely.

His best friend was waiting outside, and hurried forward to see if he was okay. Ace hugged him, and they went inside. They headed up the stairs and to Sabo's big room. Ace sat on his bed and explained what had happened. Sabo's brows furrowed in concern. "I never thought about you and insurance. I'm sure you'd get in a lot of trouble with insurance fraud."

"I've faked everything. I just don't want the questions about not having a parent with me. Y'know, 'are his parents taking care of him', 'are they not getting him medical care', 'are they not going to buy him his needed medications'?" he explained. Sabo frowned and sat next to him. "Maybe I can go to the doctor under Hack, and he could buy me the pills. But that might put him at risk, too… I'll just have to wait for Recovery Girl on Monday."

Luckily, the sports festival was on a Friday. He had five days to figure it out. He wasn't stupid and would convince himself that was enough time, if something was actually wrong. He started to grow tired, and fell backwards on the bed and to sleep, even as he fought it. When he woke up, he was tucked in, with Sabo next to him on his phone.

"Sorry," Ace said, showing him he was awake. He started to cry in worry that everything was going to come crumbling down. He worried more over his fake life than his future as a hero. He really wanted to be a hero, but he also had built up this comfortable enough life on his own, and he was so scared it would unravel in the face of whatever was wrong.

"Ace, have you been feeling sleepier lately in general?" Ace nodded. He took naps. "Have you been having bad dreams?" He shook his head. "Trouble sleeping?"

"A little bit, but nothing truly abnormal. Why? Did you find something?" he asked insistently. Sabo pressed a button on his phone and shook his head. Ace snatched his phone, but saw he deleted the history. "The hell?" he demanded.

Sabo said he didn't want Ace to read about what was wrong. What could be wrong. "It could be unnecessary stress. You could just be exhausted, or maybe there was gas in the air that made you woozy and you passed out." He was grasping at straws, but then saw the hurt look on Ace's face.

The blonde sighed and rested his head on Ace's shoulder. "I really think we shouldn't jump to conclusions about this. Stay with me this weekend, and I'll make sure you're okay. We won't tell Midoriya yet. You know he'll worry like mad and start being overbearing." Ace nodded. "We'll just see how things go this weekend. You could have had low blood sugar."

Ace nodded. "There are many things that could attribute to fainting. Some are concerning, but I understand why you don't want to go to a doctor. I know there are big complications with going to the doctor for most people, but you have to have insurance and all. Have you ever thought about like, getting adopted? Or going to a foster home?" Ace scowled, but not at Sabo.

"Nobody would want me anyways. How I live now is my normal. I don't know anything else. I've never had family. It's too late now, anyways," Ace said quickly.

Sabo didn't push, which Ace was thankful for. They hung out in his room all day, and Ace didn't have another fainting spell. It was a relief, but he still had that bad feeling in his gut. While they were watching TV, Ace got a text from Marco. How are you?

I passed out again. But only once and I was somewhere safe.

Phew, that's good.

Yeah.

Thatch and dad say they're fine with getting together again, and aren't offended by you not being able to come. Of course the planning will be different next time, more fluid ;)

Thanks.

No worries.

Ace smiled, and Sabo saw this. "I'm glad you found a good friend in Marco. A different friend than me, you just goof off with him." Ace nodded. He was glad they all made friends. "I think that Midoriya has a total crush on Uraraka." The freckled teen nodded in agreement. He blushed a lot with her. "Though he might just only prefer her because she was the first girl to really talk with him."

"Poor guy. But you get along with Koala really well, don't you? Whenever I'm not around, you go to her, and you sit next to her in class and smile a lot," Ace said with a suggestive smile. Sabo blushed. "Oh?"

"Well, maybe some day I might have a crush on her. She's really smart and confident and strong. But it's not like that now," he said honestly. Sabo never lied, unlike Ace. Though he didn't lie to him anymore. "Don't tell anybody." Ace promised that he wouldn't. But he was happy for Sabo. And Midoriya as well. "What do you mean?"

Ace looked to the side and said, "I just didn't feel like I'd ever be enough, so it's nice to have others to fill the gaps of where I can't." Sabo frowned and put his arm around Ace's shoulder. "I didn't mean to get all insecure. I just meant I'm happy you don't feel like I'm your only out."

"You're not like my best friend, Ace. Midoriya is like my best friend, you're my brother. Okay? Nobody will ever replace you. Even if we aren't friends some day in the future, you'll always be the outsider I call family." Ace grinned and nodded, returning the sentiment sincerely.

They texted Midoriya about coming the next day for watching the sports festival. Though Ace wondered if that was a good idea anymore. What if he couldn't take part? Well, that was thinking ahead too far. He didn't even want to think about that. He knew it would be so fun! He wanted to be the winner, in whatever happened there, he wanted to be the winner for sure!

When they were going to bed, Ace slept on the air mattress that was always shoved under Sabo's bed for him to sleep on when he was over. He couldn't sleep that night for a couple hours, but eventually did so. He slept soundly for most of the night until the sun shone through the curtains and onto his face.

When he woke, he found he couldn't move, and that there was some sort of… monster next to his bed. He couldn't move, couldn't scream. He just whimpered. Sabo was in the bathroom brushing his teeth and saw the state of Ace, frozen in fear and looking at something. "Ace? You okay?" Ace "mm-mm"ed, and Sabo hurried over to him.

He walked right through the monster. Was it not there? Was it real? It wasn't solid. But he could move, and jerked upright. He was sweating profusely and panting. "What happened?" Ace was shaking violently.

It wouldn't be right to leave Sabo in the dark after he saw it. He would be scared and nervous and worried. So Ace told him. He couldn't move his body at all, and saw a monster beside the bed. Sabo's brows furrowed deeply, and he bit his bottom lip. He stood up and got his phone immediately and googled the symptoms.

Ace waited on the bed, thinking of the monster. It hadn't been real, thank god. Was it a hallucination? And why couldn't he move?! What was wrong with him?! Sabo sighed and walked over, sitting on the air mattress beside him. "Well?" Ace asked quietly.

"The symptoms all point to one thing. Narcolepsy. It's a sleep disorder," Sabo explained. "It brings sleepiness throughout the day, sometimes sleep paralysis, and hallucinations. Medication and a sleep schedule with naps during the day will help treat it." Ace asked if anything very bad would happen to him. "Just sleep problems. It'll be difficult to treat in the beginning… living on your own will be hard," he said quietly.

Ace hunched over and put his head in his hands. "Until you're treated, you can stay here. Hack won't care," Sabo offered. Ace was thankful, and nodded. "I also don't think you should fly us to school anymore." Ace was relieved he was the one to say it first, because Ace agreed. He didn't want to endanger somebody else with this. Or even just risk it.

They decided to have Midoriya come over as planned. Hopefully some source of normalcy would work. They just couldn't mention it. He would wonder why Ace hadn't been taken to the doctor by his family. Any person would assume that, as it was normal for parents to take their kids to the doctors when necessary.

"Midoriya? Can your mom drive you here? I'm not confident to fly you safely here today," Ace said, the call on speakerphone, resting on the bed next to Sabo. The other teen was confused, and asked if everything was okay. "I'm just super tired and I don't want to risk anything." I'm sorry.

"Oh, okay. I don't think my mom will have a problem. If she does, I can always come over transit." Ace thanked him for his flexibility. "Sure. I'll be there soon." The call was over, and Ace laid on his back, looking up at the glow sticker covered ceiling above Sabo's bed. He was sad if he wasn't safe to fly his friends to school anymore. He enjoyed the flights, and it was a time and money saver for all three.

Ace refused to not use his quirk. He had an idea. He assumed that he'd have another sleep attack, because that's what they felt like, and wanted to know if it happened when he was in another form. He changed into the form of a dog.

"What are you doing?" Sabo wondered.

"Seeing if I can have sleep attacks while using my quirk." If he didn't, then that would make things easier. A lot easier. Sabo nodded. They both went to the kitchen for breakfast while they waited for their other friend to get there. He got a text from Marco, asking how he was. Ace hated lying, but he also didn't want to worry him. And Midoriya would be hurt if Ace told somebody before him like that.

He replied that there were some new problems, but he was working on it. Marco was unsatisfied given the three periods after the "okay", but didn't press. Ace was glad he wasn't a nosy or persistent person in personal matters. Ace still felt bad for unintentionally standing him up, but was so happy he didn't hold a grudge over it.

When Midoriya came, they immediately went into the living room and turned on the smart TV, bringing up the past couple years of the UA sports festivals. It looked so fun and exciting, Ace and Sabo couldn't wait. If Ace didn't have sleep attacks in this form, then maybe he could participate and just keep himself transformed in some way. Even if it wasn't easy to notice. Maybe making it so one part of his body was slightly different.

But he grew very sleepy around mid day. He wasn't going to push it. He laid his head down, and started to sleep. Midoriya asked if he was okay. Sabo said he was very tired, and might be sick. They didn't know yet. "Oh…"

"Don't ask him about it, though, okay?" Sabo asked. They were keeping their voices quiet. Midoriya asked Sabo if he knew more about it. "Yeah. He came here once he started to notice the symptoms and spent the night. He missed Marco's barbeque, which upset him since he was looking forward to it."

Midoriya frowned in sympathy at the dog Ace. He woke up half an hour later and stretched. He felt better, more rested. At least there was no hallucination or sleep paralysis. "Sorry, I fell asleep," Ace said with a sigh. Sabo said it was fine. It wasn't wrong to nap when you were able to. "Yeah. I take naps at home all the time. It shouldn't be that bad…" he said the last part uncertainly.

They began the videos again, and Ace didn't fall asleep. He didn't have a sleep attack in this form. Willingly resting his head down and accepting the sleep was very different than when he suddenly fell asleep the day before. He changed back in human form, and passed out a few hours later.

Sabo and Midoriya both frowned in worry. It only lasted three minutes this time. He woke up, startled about how long he'd been out. It didn't look like any time passed at all. "Three minutes," Sabo said in surprise. He put his hand to his chin. "You said the first time lasted three hours. It seems the sleep attacks range in length extremely wide. Unpredictable maybe."

Ace sat up, and hoped they would all last short like that. "Maye I can manage it on my own," he said hopefully. Though he faltered when he thought of the hallucination. That had been horrible. And scary. He would have screamed if he wasn't parylized. He hoped it never happened again, but he wasn't optimistic enough to think that would be the case.

They watched more of the sports festival, and Ace had one more attack that day that lasted forty seconds. The shorter ones were more jarring. Sabo and Midoriya didn't even notice he'd passed out until he said something about it. That night, Midoriya ended up staying the night. They would all ride the transit the next day. Ace flew to his house to get his things for the night and next morning, confident he wouldn't pass out while using his quirk. He didn't know why he knew this, but he was sure. Nothing happened, and he made it there and back just fine. Ace slept on Sabo's big bed, with Midoriya on the air mattress.

All three of them had trouble sleeping about worrying over Ace's new problem. Ace was up until 2:00 before he finally fell asleep. Why couldn't he sleep when he was so tired? It felt painfully early when he woke at 6:45 to shower in Sabo's bathroom and get ready for school. They walked to the transit center, which was luckily not too far.

It was so much faster to just fly there, but his friends didn't want to risk it. Ace was exhausted, and his two friends watched over him as he slept on the train. When they to the city with UA, they woke him up, and they headed to class. He'd see Recovery Girl after school. When they got into class, Ace was already feeling tired. And so happy the sports festival wasn't that day or he'd do terrible.

They were all excited for the event coming up. Katakuri walked in and got to talking immediately. "Well, I hope you're all ready for an intense week in hero studies. More training and practice events like those having been done in previous years to get to know what sort of things might come up. Even I don't know, so don't ask. Yes, Luffy, there will be food at the sports festival. You'll have to pay for it." Luffy beamed and lowered his hand.

Ace was feeling sleepy, and couldn't help but lay his head down, it feeling heavy. Marco looked at him and shook his arm, trying to wake him before the teacher noticed. Ace didn't notice, and fell asleep.

Marco shook him harder, but he stayed asleep, deeply asleep. Katakuri noticed quickly, and frowned. "Ace, wake up. You can sleep at break," he said shortly. Ace didn't wake up, and the class was watching him, all looking a bit confused. Ace had never fallen asleep in class, and always seemed well rested.

Sabo and Midoriya looked uncomfortable. "Can somebody take him to the nurses?" Iida offered, being taller than Ace and more fit before Ace's head snapped up, the sleep attack over. He ran his hands over his face. Ace apologized for falling asleep, face red in humiliation. Katakrui looked at him curiously, as if noticing something was wrong, before he moved on. Ace was glad he didn't focus on it much. Ace was so embarrassed, and wasn't surprised at lunch time when Tsu asked if he was okay. It had never happened before. "I just didn't get a lot of sleep last night," he lied.

"Well, it's lucky you woke up quickly," Yaoyorozu said. Ace nodded. He hoped it didn't happen again. He ate slowly, not wanting to go too fast. When they looked deeper into narcolepsy and what triggered sleep attacks, eating quickly and strong emotions triggered it. With the symptoms he had, he was positive it was narcolepsy. Which sucked. It was lifelong and would interfere with so much.

He was doing his best not to think about what would happen so soon. What might happen. Hero training had Ace busy, with him running laps, sprinting as hard as he could. He didn't fall asleep, thankfully.

After class, Sabo and Midoriya waited outside the nurse's office apprehensively as he went to Recovery Girl. He knew she couldn't heal him of this. She healed wounds, superficial ones, not something like a complex disorder.

"Can I help you? Are you injured from training?" the old woman asked. Ace shook his head. It wasn't from training.

"I wanted to get a check up. I think I have a new disorder." She looked surprised and then concerned, sitting on the chair across from the bed he was sitting on. She asked for details. "I think I have narcolepsy. I keep falling asleep all of the sudden. It happened in class, and then when I was in hero training, but that one only lasted a few seconds.

"I also woke up paralyzed and t-to a hallucination." He looked at his hands. "I wanted a diagnosis, and so I came to you," he finished nervously. She was writing down on a clipboard.

She said, "Based on your symptoms, it indeed does match narcolepsy. Do you know how many sleep attacks you've had in one day?"

"Two or three. So far. It only started on Saturday morning," Ace replied. "If I take a bunch of naps, I read that was supposed to help. But also meds. And I don't know how to fit in a nap during the school day…" he said, sounding ashamed. She smiled at him and said he shouldn't be ashamed. It was something out of his control, nothing he did caused it.

"A nap schedule is indeed very important, but so is medication. I can't diagnose professionally as a nurse practitioner. You'll need to go to a physician." Ace's face crumpled. What would he do now? "Is there something wrong with that?" she asked, though not in a negative voice. Ace nodded. He truthfully said he had no medical insurance or money to go to the doctor. "There are health insurances for unemployed people, too."

Ace swallowed. This was a big deal. "What would happen if I didn't use medication? And I just took naps?"

"It would be very unhelpful to not have medication to help you with all of the symptoms. Medication helps with excessive daytime sleepiness and the hallucinations. It will also reduce your amount of sleep attacks, most likely. It is necessary for treatment," she insisted. But she looked concerned now.

Ace asked, "Do you know any good doctors? Who don't ask a lot of questions?" She said all doctors needed to know of their patient's medical history and ask many questions. She asked once again if there was another problem. "I… is this conversation confidential?" Recovery Girl nodded. "I live alone, and I don't have any insurance." She raised her brows at this, looking surprised.

"So if you go to the doctor, then you worry you'll be found out?" She caught on very quickly. He nodded. "And you have no family? At all? Having somebody to live with you while getting used to this disorder is important." Ace sighed, and said he had no family. He'd never had any family. "How do you sustain yourself?" she asked.

"I draw to make money and pay for my rent and all the expenses." She asked how a child paid rent. "I use my quirk to help me with that." Cleary, what people knew of his quirk, it wouldn't make sense why it would help him pay rent at all, have his own apartment. She wasn't writing any of this down, which made him feel better. Was this the right thing to do? To tell somebody? He wasn't very close to the nurse anyways.

"I see. Well, I'm sorry to say I still can't diagnose you. But I can help you get seen for free. However, I suggest you find a roommate to help you with this. Maybe an older friend or somebody," she said emphatically. "I don't like that you live by yourself, but this conversation was confidential. I can get you seen today, right now if we leave. It's important to get on top of it quickly."

Ace smiled and thanked her, full of relief. "You will still have trouble getting medication, though. I might be able to help you, but you should tell the doctor that you live alone. He may change treatment due to that fact." Ace nodded. They left the room, her getting a purse. Sabo asked what happened, and Ace said Recovery Girl was taking him to a doctor.

"I'll tell you about it when I'm out, okay?" Ace said. He was nervous, but was glad he had an ally right now. He felt she wouldn't report him to the school or authorities. She didn't even ask why he used his quirk or how he used it to live on his own. It was weird being anywhere outside of school with a teacher. Especially someone he rarely saw at all.

They went to a clinic, not a hospital. It was small, and he was glad of that. He fumbled with his backpack and uniform, nervous. She lead him inside, the staff recognizing her. "I worked here when I was younger," she said simply. "I trust these people to help you," she added sincerely. Ace nodded.

He was taken back immediately. She came with him, which was a relief. He'd never been to the doctors before. It was nerve wracking. He didn't recognize anything there. "Chiyo, what a surprise. Who is this?"

"A student, Ace. I wanted you to help him out, as he has nobody to help him." She got right to the point. The man frowned sadly, and asked if he was homeless. "No, he's just not taken care of by anybody, and so he's nervous about being seen." She was being bluntly honest, and Ace wasn't sure he liked it. He understood why, but still.

"I see. Well, I'll do what I can to help. Now, what are you here for?" Ace explained everything he had to Recovery Girl. She just sat in the chair, very small with her feet not touching the floor. Ace was also given a physical exam since he hadn't ever gotten one. The doctor strongly disapproved of him avoiding the going to the doctors.

He said, "I want you to come for any injury or sickness you may feel. With your circumstances, I'm sure we can work something out. But you're a child, and parents or no parents, you need to take care of your health. Understand?" Ace was red in the face, looking down and nodding. "Based on everything, you do indeed have narcolepsy. Considering the symptoms you have, your case seems moderate. You may experience cataplexy eventually, and if that happens, I want you to return here.

"I have medication I think will be good treatment, but it will be hit or miss, and very lucky if your first prescription and dosage are perfect the first time. Check in with Recovery Girl and she'll tell you when it would be prudent for you to return here. I can see it's very stressful, and I'd like to avoid that," he said kindly.

"I will pay for the prescriptions," Recovery Girl said. "Ace has his own money to pay for his lifestyle, and I'd like to not disrupt that." Ace smiled shyly. "What can he do about exertion? Is there any sort of limit?"

"Until the medication kicks in and starts helping, I don't want you to go anywhere alone. What is your quirk?" Ace said it was transformation into any form. He asked for Recovery Girl to leave for just a second. She nodded, and went outside.

"I use my quirk at school, and when I go out. To keep myself able to live on my own, I pretend to be an adult, so I use my quirk daily. When I was using it yesterday, nothing happened. Um… I go to UA, and the sports festival is coming up. It's really important!" he said firmly. He couldn't miss it! Recovery Girl came back in.

The man said, "I understand that it's very important. I see it every year. I know every year there are finalists that battle one another. I have good news, though. You'd think exercising would be dangerous, as if you will pass out during it and hurt yourself." Ace nodded, feeling that fear. "Exercise is very beneficial to narcolepsy symptoms. You are not likely to have a sleep attack while exercising. The sports festival should be fine. I recommend you keep moving between activities. Maybe walk around the stadium while waiting between events." Ace let out a deep breath, putting his face in his hands. "You can participate. But you may be sleepier afterwards, which can help with falling asleep at night. The medication I am prescribing does not cause any fatigue or sleepiness during the day, as it worked to counteract it."

He put his hand on his shoulder. "Life will be more difficult now, and you will need to accommodate your new disorder, but it does not mean your life can't still be full of energy and happiness. And hero work for you would be best with being active. Get a hero job that keeps you on your toes. Working behind a desk would be the most detrimental."

Ace had tears in his eyes. "I was so scared everything was going to be ruined for me…"

The doctor, Crocus, an older man, said, "Many, many heroes have health issues that can affect work, which is why they choose the best type of work for their mental or physical health." Ace nodded. "I do think you should live with somebody until the medications are right for you. Maybe a friend?"

The teen nodded. The old nurse was smiling. "I have a friend who can let me stay with him." The doctor then sat in his chair, and they worked on a sleep schedule for school. They planned it to be directly before the most strenuous class. It would cut into art history, but a twenty minute nap was necessary and the school would accommodate that.

So, around 1:40 to 2:00, he's take a ten to twenty minute nap. "You may still have sleep attacks, and if you feel them coming, surrender to them and try to get someplace safe for you to sleep. Try to avoid falling as best as you can." He gave one last smile and put his hand on Ace's shoulder. "Call if there are any problems, and check in with Chiyo often. I'm sure she'll have no problem."

Ace sniffled and nodded with a smile. He asked if flying was safe. He flew places to get around, not having a bike or car. "That is exercise in its own, so it should be safe." Ace thanked him, and he was given the sleep plan and suggestions that Crocus was giving him. A detailed report. When they left, they went to the pharmacy, where meds were already stocked. They got them just then, luckily.

He felt so overjoyed. He knew life would be harder, and annoying sometimes. He knew he'd be embarrassed for needing naps throughout the day, and at school, but he could still be a hero! He could still use his quirk! He was so, so happy.

"Going to the doctor wasn't so bad now, was it?" Recovery Girl asked with a smile. Ace nodded and thanked her profusely. "We'll go back to the school and speak with your teachers. They should be there still. I am glad you'll have somebody to live with for now." Ace agreed. They drove back to the school, which wasn't too far.

When they got there, the two gathered the teachers. They were surprised to see Ace with the nurse asking for a meeting, and looked slightly worried. Everyone was there, including All Might, which was slightly surprising. He seemed like he'd be a very busy guy after school was out. Well, he was also a teacher.

They were in the staff meeting room as Ace explained his new condition. "I'm sorry if it will cause problems-"

"This is not something you need to apologize about, Ace. You can't help it, and it's our job as teachers to accommodate our students for anything." Midnight nodded, saying she was fine with him needing a nap. All Might said, if necessary, he could come to class a few minutes late. The first ten minutes is usually an explanation or review of the day before. Ace felt so uplifted to hear people were on his side about this. He didn't need to be ashamed.

Well, he was still embarrassed, but hearing he could still live happily lifted his spirits. He was going to do his best to not be a burden. He was to take one pill in the morning and one at dinner time. Katakuri smiled for once, and said, "I'm very relieved you can still participate in the sports festival. I know you've been working hard in training for it." Ace nodded.

Once everything was in place, and the teachers all knew how to handle it if he fell asleep in class, not thinking he was just bored or something, he left. He called Sabo, and asked him if he could come over, stay with him at his house for now. Of course he was welcome. The friend was so relieved to hear Ace had a smile in his voice and not tears.

He had a new respect for the nurse, thankful she helped his best friend. "I'll make sure to remind you to take your meds. And go to bed early, no staying up until 3:00 in the morning anymore." Ace was bummed about that. His new bed time was 10:00. Too early, but he'd manage because he must.

Ace flew home and packed clothes for the rest of the week, and brought his laptop. He had drawn that month's art to post, with a voice over tutorial for a drawing that wasn't NSFW. It was a drawing of All Might, a full tutorial also accompanied by a speedpaint. He was excited to post it, wondering if people would like it because of how the public adored the number one hero.

When he was at Sabo's house, they called Midoriya and gave him all the information. He smiled in relief, hearing Ace could still be a hero and do school work. "I'll be ready to help you if you start to fall asleep as best as I can," he promised. Ace thanked him. "If you still don't want to take us for now, I can take the train to school."

Ace nodded, and neither of his friends were upset that they wouldn't be riding a dragon for now to school. When they hung up with the phone call, Ace laid back on Sabo's bed. "I have the best friends ever." Sabo grinned, and agreed. He told Ace he should tell Marco. He had to be worried, too. And the whole class would find out regardless. An explanation for his nap or sleep attacks if they came at school.

I had a feeling it was narcolepsy. I did a bunch of research. But I'm so happy you can still do normal stuff! If you ever fall when flying, you can bet your ass I'll catch you. Promise. Ace thanked him, appreciating the offer. And if anyone teases you, I'll beat their asses.
