The following day, she seemed nervous around him and he noticed in class that she switched to a Cinnamon scented shampoo when the breeze from the open window shifted her hair. He couldn't help cursing the window, and the wind, for giving him that wonderful scent. He couldn't help thinking about kissing her cheek and how he wanted to kiss more of her.
They both acted like nothing had happened but she wouldn't look him in the eye, all morning long. He decided to ditch the rest of the school day and head home, he was struggling with his dumb impluses. He wasn't expecting her to knock on his door later that day.
"Haru?"
"Are you sick? I have your homework, I wasn't sure if we were still doing a lesson today or not. If you are sick have you taken the right medicine? Do you have a fever?" Haru had started rambling, and there were very few ways to get her to stop, so he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the apartment.
"Haru, I just ditched. I was bored, that's all." He said knowing she would react, and switch from concern and worry to a lecture.
"Hayato, you shouldn't just skip school because you're bored. You have no way of knowing what is gonna be taught later nor if it would interest you." Her voice was ever so slightly increasing as her anger started to seep through. Hayato couldn't help rolling his eyes then took her hand tried guiding to the couch, his mind went other places but he was determined not to succumbed. She was Haru the stupid woman, the loud stupud woman who wanted to marry Judaime; the loud stupid woman who was smart, had soft skin, could be funny, cute, determined, kind, caring, stubborn.
He froze as he realized his thought pattern, it was the same one he would hear Judaime talk about Kyoko sometimes, or Turf-top about Hana. He couldn't believe it, his impluses, her being a distraction, could it be.
"Hayato are you alright?" She asked.
He needed to analyze the situation, he started to pace, forgetting he was currently taking her with him.
"Hayato?" He froze again as her sweet melodious voice rang through his ears, said ears started to burn. Did she just call him by his first name?
