Simone to Jack

"You and Nikki – have you ever-?"

"What – no! She's with Matt. Has been for ages. They're happy."

"Are you sure about that Jack?" Simone commented " Why doesn't she have a picture of him on her phone screen then?"

"She does."

Simone chuckled "Not anymore. It's a slightly blurry close up but I'm pretty sure its you – your eye to be exact."

Jack sputtered on his tea.

She sniggered, ignoring the real reason he'd almost choked on the hot liquid. "That bad, huh? I told you that you can't make a decent cup of tea."

"Whoa, wait. Back up – she has a picture of me on her phone screen?!"

"Your eye." Simone repeated, taking great delight in Jack missing his mouth altogether this time.

He jumped to his feet as the now luke warm tea landed in his lap.

"Anyway" Simone continued, ignoring Jack's frantic attempts to dry the split drink off his trousers. "Karaoke. She was clearly directing the words at you, not Matt – any you couldn't take your eyes off her."

They heard the door and Jack looked totally dismayed, knowing who was coming in, about to see him in the state he was in.

"Jack!" Nikki exclaimed in shock, unable to keep her eyes from travelling to the one place he wish they wouldn't "You-?"

"No no no, Nikki." He stammered in embarrassment "Simone made me spill my tea."

She shook her head at the other woman in exasperation. "Honestly Simone!"

"Can I see your phone please, Nikki?" Jack inquired hopefully.

She turned back to him and seemed to hestate in answering his strange request "Not right now – I'll show you it later. You better go and get changed, Jack. You won't be comfortable like that." She put her coat over her desk chair and went into Thomas' old office to prepare it for their meeting that morning.

"Interesting that she won't show you it until she's had time to change the picture" Simone remarked "Also note how she didn't even ask why you wanted to see it, Jack." She added pointedly.

"Simone, you've got to stop this." Jack muttered

"Fine" She retorted "How about a blind date then?"

"I don't do blind dates." Jack exclaimed "and besides – you barely know me."

"So lets ask someone who does then." She suggested nodding in the direction Nikki had gone in. Simone made to walk off, stopping just next to him with her parting shot before she left. "if you want my opinion – I've never seen two people look at each other the way you and Nikki do."
