"Cass you promised we'd spend time together, it's been forever" cries Cat
"you did promise Cass" says Jade
"trust me if I was allowed vacation time I'd spend as much time with Cat as I could, I'm lucky I was allowed any time off during December, my contract is pending renewal so until they come up with an offer I'm supposed to be doing shoots, my dream was to be a self owned model that does her own shoots but I tried that and it flopped badly, nobody wants to run the camera for me, the best part is I get paid double while the contract is being made, luckily this next shoot is only a few hours and is hyper local so I will be back I promise" says Cassandra
2.5 hours later as Cassandra returns
"ok Cat I'm free to spend as much time with you as you want now for today" says Cassandra
"she would like to cuddle" says Jade
"why didn't she say that" asks Cassandra
"the cancer treatment changed some aspects of her brain, one she can't regulate her temperature, another issue is mutism, which is what's happening right now" says Tori
"what happens when she goes mute" asks Cassandra hugging Cat
"it's not known what happens because she won't talk about it later, all we know is she needs physical contact when it happens, nothing else calms her down" says Jade
"sounds like a PTSD response to me" says Cassandra
"it may very well be but she's never done this at school and even her dad, to which Cat has always been the closest to says this is new for Cat" says Sadie
"suspicious, maybe something happened that nobody knows about, I'll talk to her and see if I can get a response" says Cassandra taking Cat to her room
2 minutes later
"what's wrong Cat, did something happen at that hospital" asks Cassandra as Cat nods silently
"did somebody hurt you" asks Cassandra as Cat shakes her head no
"you need to tell me the truth there Cat, I promise I won't tell uncle Darrel" says Cassandra as Cat again shakes her head no
"was it a child that caused this" asks Cassandra
"uh uh" says Cat finally calm enough to speak
"when what happened" asks Cassandra
"I don't know, all I know is something happened, I have no memory of what happened, several hours passed where I have no memory" says Cat
"so you have what your brother has then, you're a system" says Cassandra
"no please no, I don't want that, can I return it, people hate that" cries Cat
"it's genetic in this case Cat, I'm lucky I dodged it, did you really not know your mom was a system too, even small traumas can cause big upsets" says Cassandra
"but I didn't think it was genetic" asks Cat
"technically it isn't, what I meant to say is your parents, you and your brother are genetically susceptible to it, my dad had it too, that's why my brain is fragile and why I attacked you when you were three, I wasn't unstable, what happened was my dad said something he shouldn't have, he knew my triggers yet he talked about buying me a bikini so we could go to the beach, I've never been completely comfortable in my body, I got tunnel vision and instead of attacking my dad I attacked you because you were the only person close to me who I could see" says Cassandra
"….so it wasn't something I did that made you do that, I've been worried ever since, mom and dad had many plans to come back out here every summer but I was too scared so they always had to cancel" says Cat
"no it was nothing you did, once I was triggered there was nothing I could do" says Cassandra
"how do you deal with it, surely you have to wear one in your shoots" asks Cat
"it's not the word itself that's the problem, nor is it the garments themselves, it's the talk about buying them without my input or say that is the problem, gifts are one thing, talking about buying them so we can go to the beach is another, I've never liked beaches, I'm a bit of a germophobe that way, Tori and Jade have kept this place sparkling so there is nothing for me to wig out about" says Cassandra
"surly you asked them to keep it clean" asks Cat
"nope, apparently Jade's a neat freak and wouldn't kiss or cuddle Tori till things were clean, says it keeps her mind at ease, I have a question, what really caused Jade to wig out and get both her and Tori arrested" says Cassandra
"things were falling into place too well, we were all getting along too well for her for us to just be her friends, she'd started joking about how if the planes wing snapped off she wanted the window seat so she could be the first to die in an accident, Tori likes taking video of the flight, they started fighting over the window seat before we'd even gotten into the airport, let alone being in line with our tickets, Tori being Tori said she would die if Jade died and she survived, Jade didn't fully understand the meaning behind it as we hadn't planned to ask Jade out till we'd already landed in LA, meaning that Jade ended up taking offence and threw chairs at Tori, some of which ended up breaking airport computers, their friendship has always been rough" says Cat
"ok now I see why the airport would be very upset if they'd let Tori and Jade fly to LA" says Cassandra
"I don't understand" says Cat
"while it's against policy to use personal laptops while they're on the clock, if they take a break at break time they're allowed to use them, some of them are known to keep their personal computer on or with them at all times, chances are Jade broke someone's personal property or a few people's personal items" says Cassandra
"but why would that make the airport act, I'd have sued Jade if I were them, not arrest them right here and now or make the company take action" says Cat
"if it was a manager's laptop then they could technically legally require the company who the airport employs to hire people take action so as to not lose an employee which would require the airport to act as an entity to hold Tori and Jade responsible for the damages" says Cassandra
"it still doesn't make sense" says Cat
"let's just put it this way, Jade has family here who both love and hate her, one of them being Isabelle, well once she gets back anyway" says Cassandra
"so you're telling me this was a set up" asks Cat
"I'm unable to confirm or deny, however her mother is seriously hated by the rest of Jade's family for how she treated Jade growing up, the damage Jade caused was minor but they feared how her mother would react, Karen isn't exactly bi or gay friendly" says Cassandra
"you didn't have a shoot today did you" accuses Cat
"no I did but it was a shoot at the airport, headed up by Eileen West, I mentioned Jade and she told me the story of what happened" says Cassandra as Jade walks in
"Boy I haven't heard Aunt Eileen's name uttered in years, anyway I ordered lunch, did you get any information" says Jade
"yeah she has DID, she's a system like her brother, something triggered her to disassociate and bring out the other personality, she has no memory of what happened" says Cassandra
"doesn't Henry have like eight personalities" asks Jade
"nine but yes, Cat's side of the family is genetically susceptible to it, my dad was her uncle and had it too, I have what's called RID or remissive Identity disorder, basically meaning my other personality used to exist like Henry's do but vanished, leaving me with a mild tic disorder, though like cancer they can come back and have at least three times so far but then vanish again, I am of one of a hundred people with the condition in Europe" says Cassandra
"what's for lunch" asks Cat changing the subject
"ravioli, your favorite pasta pillows" says Jade as Cat disassociates mid-sentence
"and you can order that here" asks Cat(Ivy)
"Cat we had it last week you know this" says Jade as Cassandra realizes what just happened
"it's not Cat who spoke Jade, this would be her alt, I can tell by her eyes, they seem unfocused" says Cassandra as Jade looks closely at Cat's eyes
"dang you're right, what's your name" says Jade
"my name is Ivy" says Cat
"may I ask what happened at the hospital" asks Jade
"oh… that…. Yeah it's probably safer if I don't answer that" says Ivy
"it's affecting Cat, I require an answer" says Jade
"ugh fine, I had to pee and the bathroom in my room was broken, so I got up and asked the doctor where the closest bathroom was, yeah I didn't get there in time, I peed myself and slipped, nearly bit my tongue off" says Ivy annoyed
"how long have you been alive" asks Jade
"about eight or nine years, Cat's stupidly inept doctor put me in a box, nearly killed us as a result, where are we, I don't recognize this place" says Ivy
"we're in England, at Cat's sister's house where we now live, this is a safe place" says Jade
"does Cat hate me" asks Ivy
"she doesn't know you exist, all she knows is she loses time, if you can please allow us to record important moments when you're fronting so she can experience them too" says Cassandra
"I guess that's fair, would it help if I created an audio diary so she can listen to it, to be quite honest video might not capture our side of the events, she should hear it from me" says Ivy
"do you love Tori and I or do you love another" asks Jade
"my ability to feel anything different from Cat isn't there, we share many things, fun fact it wasn't Cat that person tried to kidnap, it was me he wanted, what she does by acting annoying and utterly cute is mimicking me, i have a tendency to be super gullible though, he lured me in by saying that I'd won some sort of candy prize, by the time Cat was able to wrestle control back we were already in his car" says Ivy
"what about catatonia, is that you or is that something else" asks Jade noticing Ivy is allowing herself to be vulnerably open
"yes it's me, like I said her idiot doctor put me in a box, I may be gullible but I'm also a fighter, I was trying to attack Beck for what he said to Cat but I couldn't get myself to front, the best I could do was numb Cat out and make her floppy, Cat was able to keep me from speaking but it came at a cost" says Ivy
"did you know about the cancer" asks Cassandra
"that's why I wanted to kill Beck for what he said, no doctor takes Cat or I seriously, if she was going to die I didn't want her to feel like she couldn't fight back" says Ivy
"what did it feel like" asks Jade
"the cancer felt like a big cube of fire and ice, it was slowly eroding her ability to focus, as the cancer grew, Cat's meds ability to keep me locked up eroded, granted Cat actually enjoyed being a system, that is until her doctor locked me away and told her that I was some sort of demon and people would kill her if she missed one pill and let me out, he really is evil, he was of the belief that mental/personality conditions and disorder names were ways of hiding demons, he firmly believed Cat was possessed, I'm almost certain he would have raped her if he thought he'd get away with it" says Ivy
"you love Cat don't you, the way you seem to talk about her seems to imply that" asks Jade
"we are one person Jade, my feelings for her have no bearing on any such matter, it is literally impossible for me to do anything close to a date without making Cat look absolutely stupid or insane, besides if she knew she might hate me more than she already does" says Ivy as Cat returns to fronting
