"I'm sorry Astrid she doesn't want to talk to you" says Miley
"I don't blame her, when Anna died I might have gotten a little hot headed and blamed her, I don't do well with grief, I was head over heels for Anna, I'd have killed for her Miley, after her death and blaming Isabelle I spent almost three years in a mental facility, part of the condition of my release is to apologize to those I feel I wronged, if I can't apologize to Isabelle they're gonna put me back in there, you don't know what it's like Miley, Anna was like the queen back in Myre, she and her family were treated like royalty, Anna could have been a model, she could have brought money into the starving town, nobody understood why they left, they didn't listen to me anyway, please I have to talk to her, I don't want to go back" says Astrid
"wait they treated them like royalty, that's not what Isabelle said, they said everyone hated her" says Andre shocked
"they didn't know how to talk to her, not after she had a seizure in the middle of the school yard, they were all convinced that they did something to cause it, it wasn't a very seizure educated school, it's one of the least funded schools in all Norway, having talent like Isabelle and Anna would have called for attention to the education there, anyone with any sort of news worthy intelligence are worshipped there, she needs to go back, they need a role model like her" says Astrid
"she's having a big pain day, muscles don't want to stop tensing" says Andre
"have you tried icing her body, I don't mean to be creepy but on the coldest days she could walk for as long as it stayed cold while the rest of us tried to keep our noses from falling off, on the warmer days walking never lasted very long" says Astrid
"you want to be a doctor don't you" asks Andre
"no I'm just a stupid girl who waited till the last second so hearing my crush tell me she wasn't interested didn't hurt as much, I'm stupid, the only thing I have going for me is my photographic memory, please let me talk to her, I don't want to go back there" says Astrid
"do they abuse you, because I can sue them if they are, as if right now your parents put you in my custody" asks Miley
"no they're not that stupid, they know leaving marks or raping me would lead to an investigation, doesn't stop them from telling me I'm worthless though, that that's why I don't have a girlfriend" says Astrid
"ok here's the deal, she's not exactly happy you're here but given that she can't walk away right now because of the pain she has agreed to listen to you, you and Anna were close, she misses her sister very much, almost more than her father, come with me up the elevator" says Andre as Astrid follows him into the elevator
"you're not going to rape me are you, my parents warned me that rapists existed in the big city" asks Astrid looking Andre in the eye
"that's not my thing, why are you so nervous, I can see you're shaking" asks Andre as the doors open
"I haven't seen her in almost four years sir, her and her sister looked very similar, I'm scared because of what I said to her, that I accused her of not saving her sister… this place looks very new, like it's not finished" says Astrid
"because it's not, there are a few livable rooms, plumbing was just finished yesterday, Cassandra's place isn't big enough for all of us" says Andre
"I'd love to live here, I'll never be deemed sane enough to go to school again so it's not like I'll ever finish my education, not that I'd want to, all that town does is mourn about Anna's death, as if they were all family to her, I was the closest thing she had to family besides Isabelle and their dad, worship doesn't mean love, it never does" says Astrid as they walk into the living room as Isabelle stares at her
"maybe don't stare Izzy, you're only making her more nervous" says Andre as Isabelle points to her hair
"why is she staring" asks Astrid
"your hair, it's the anniversary of Anna's death, she had me do her hair, yours is done up like hers" says Andre
"Isabelle I was head over heels for Anna, do you think I wouldn't honour her, anyway I'm here to say sorry, when I heard about Anna's death I hit my dad, ripped some hair out and was admitted to a mental health facility in Oslo, it was wrong of me to blame you for her death, it would seem I don't handle grief very well, please forgive me" says Astrid holding back tears as Isabelle signs weakly to Andre
"she's asking for cuddles, also apparently while Anna was dying she'd repeat your name, something about a mistake, about a swing accident, oh and my name is Andre by the way" says Andre as Astrid cuddles Isabelle
"that was a weird day to be quite honest, she'd scraped her arm, big scratch marks only for them to disappear by the time we'd gotten to the hospital, she never explained how it happened, ever, it left me thinking she weilded magic" says Astrid as Isabelle calms down
"in a way she did Astrid, she had a very good slight of hand, she believed she was Loki's daughter, what was weird about the day she died is she was declared dead only to misplace her body, as if she disappeared after death" says Isabelle
"you don't think she's dead do you" asks Astrid
"to be honest she never approved of dads politics, if she is indeed somehow alive then she would be near us, in Norse mythology Loki could shapeshift, he could fake his death as could his daughter, sometimes I swear I hear her voice in my sleep" says Isabelle
"there in the window, is that a spider-horse thing" asks Andre as Astrid looks up
"let it in, in the textbooks teaching about Norse mythology Loki had spider horse children, it sounds crazy but they swear it had to have happened" says Astrid as Andre opens the window and Isabelle gasps
"what is it" asks Andre
"it's her, that's Anna, I can feel her emotions, Astrid stroke the spider horse's hair" says Isabelle as Astrid does so and is immediately blinded by light
3 minutes later
"ow that hurt, did you have to pet so hard Astrid" gasps Anna surprised at her ability to speak
"wait you're alive" asks Astrid blood draining from her face
"the curse of Loki Astrid, turning sixteen I got turned into that thing, to prevent me from falling for a guy, loki's daughters can't have children, he didn't get mom pregnant sis, he chose me, he choses girls who are close to death or who could easily die, to save them" says Anna
"doesn't seem like a very loki thing to do" asks Astrid
"he's the triskster remember Astrid, he's grown and changed as the life of a Norwegian has, Isabelle is a chosen daughter of Freyja, which is why she can feel emotions of others, she wields magic, more pure than Loki because it is borne through emotion, Loki's magic is born out of pure trickery and sometimes anger" says Anna
"why did he turn you, why would he take you from Isabelle" asks Astrid
"because me actually dying was a bad thing, it wasn't supposed to go on this long, it was supposed to be like six months not four years, unfortunately the English don't believe in Magic or Norse mythology so bringing me back was risky, had he not intervened my heart would have literally been mush, a result of me stealing freyja magic from Isabelle, love magic is forbidden for loki children, loki children must fall in love naturally, always with girls again because we aren't allowed to have kids" says Anna
"so what is your name now, clearly you can't go by Anna anymore, nor can you ever go to a hospital here" says Astrid
"being a loki child means I can use trickery, also I was allowed to use Greek God's children's names, I chose Annabeth, she's a daughter of Athena the god of war, calling me Anna is fine as it's a nickname anyway" says Anna
"are demi-gods real" asks Isabelle
"technically yes, though not like in the films, we're only semi-immortal, there is always a way to kill them or us" says Anna
"how would one kill you, I'm not looking to but I want to avoid making a mistake, that is assuming you love me" asks Astrid
"I always have Astrid,one way to kill me is to keep me in my shapeshifted form, luckily I've been able to become cats, one horse at the Royal palace here in England, a few 'stray' dogs but every time I come near family I always shape shift into the smallest animal, what I can't believe is all us Valentine's are all in one place now, oh to be a 'fly' on the wall in that airport when Cat's girlfriends got angry at one another, man that was a sight to see" says Anna
"who is Cat's mythical father" asks Isabelle
"Neptune, the Roman equivalent of the Greek Poseidon, as Cat was technically born in Rome before being taken to California, Cat by her very nature is drawn to water" says Anna
"so we could live forever" asks Isabelle
"no, as God's chosen children our lifespan is divided up with those we love, romantic love not family, Cat and Cassandra chose to divide their lifespan into three parts, meaning they will live as long as the one who dies last, you and I Isabelle with our single choices for love will live much longer, likely into our eighties, maybe longer if medical scientists find a way to cure cancer or other diseases that pose greater risk to our lives and to the lives of our loved ones" says Anna
"wait what God is Cassandra's parent" asks Isabelle
"Zeus, Cassandra is the oldest and wisest of us, Zeus made sure she would survive long enough to love, even if Cat gets in her nerves daily" says Anna
"how do you know all this" asks Andre suspicious
"I came to life before your eyes and you're wondering how I know all this, surely your concerns should be how I formed my body out of thin air" says Anna
"I was raised to not judge people, my grandmother is insane, it's just that the way you managed to explain Cat's attraction to water makes a lot of sense, any party had to either be at a beach or include a pool at some point during the celebration or she wouldn't come, which is why it surprised everyone when she said she was going to England with Tori and Jade to celebrate her birthday this past summer when everything went wrong in August, nobody understood why she'd put herself through that, she never liked watching British movies even if she herself asked us to watch it, she was always confusing" says Andre
"it wasn't the people she was interested in Andre, it was the UK as a whole, living on an island surrounded by water, her dreams would be more powerful here, in California there is only water on one side, here in the UK we are surrounded by water meaning she could travel in any direction and feel the calmness of the water, it's a less stressful situation than the USA" says Anna
"does she know what she is" asks Astrid
"no and she can't know, not by us telling her, nothing I say leaves this floor" says Anna
"why not" asks Isabelle
"because she is not ready to know, her memory is fragile, her brain literally split between two people Isabelle, though she is the only one who knew I wasn't dead" says Anna
"then how is she not ready to know who her godly father is" asks Andre
"because is it not the Cat part of her brain that knows, it is not the Cat part of her brain that dables in magic, she chose the name Ivy for a reason, if we tell her before Cat is ready to know, which may never come then telling her will only divide up her brain again, think of it as the knowledge killing her slowly if you tell, sharing a brain with Ivy is hard enough for Cat, adding more would mean less Cat time for Tori and Jade, not even loki would wish that on her" says Anna
"can I kiss you" asks Astrid
"if you kiss me you will taste spiderhorse breath, trust me it's not a pleasant taste, I request that you kiss me on the cheek till I can brush my teeth and fix my breath issues, cuddles are fine, I'm actually kind of tired, is there a room I can sleep in" says Anna
"this is the only fully finished room, we're painting bedroom number two tomorrow, if you've been stalking me as I feel you have you should know that" says Isabelle
"it doesn't work like that sis, I have to be invited in to look inside a house, that's why I prefer to be animals that most people don't hate, so they can feed me or give me shelter, I knew you had a lot of rooms but I couldn't see in them, not past the glass, it's part of the curse of Loki, I'm not allowed to peep or make visible things I shouldn't see, like if you and Andre made love, Loki would blind me to it, unless the people involved have touched me I can't see it" says Anna
"wait so If I changed into pajamas right here right now I'd be invisible to you till my pj's were on" asks Astrid
"not exactly, see you already professed affection for me and I confessed my feelings in a way Astrid, meaning I could blind Izzy and Andre to your nakedness but I'd be able to see it, I'd suggest you change in a bathroom, I haven't been in my body in four years, I don't remember how fingers, arms or legs work, well I mean I do but knowing and being able to use them is a whole different thing, if there is an extra bed you should bring it in here too when you get back" says Anna as Astrid runs to the bathroom, pj's in hand
"you really are alive huh, it still feels like a dream" asks Isabelle
"believe me this feels like a dream to me too, I find it best not to question Loki or God's handiwork sis, Loki gave me two days to find love or its back to spiderhorse for me, she never actually kissed me back in Myre despite me saying I loved her after she asked me out, even having delayed dad by half an hour, I stood there for half an hour expecting her to kiss me, I know I'm acting like I'm certain but honestly I have no idea what love is or is supposed to feel like, if this thing between Astrid and I doesn't become or turn out to be deep love Loki will make me turn into a mindless pet for her, either in human form or in actual pet form" says Anna as Astrid returns all cutified by her pj's
"would he really be that cruel to you" asks Astrid
"I made a deal with him, I told him that what we had could be true love, even though I had no proof, that's the only reason he let me come back, you don't make a deal with Loki and get to break your promise, if I can't prove love then I become essentially your slave Astrid, you will get to do with me as you choose" says Anna as Astrid kisses her on the lips
"it's definitely love, I was sent to the mental facility because they deemed me obsessed with a dead girl" says Astrid
