Disclaimer: I do not own Invader Zim.

"Why would you agree to his request?" asked Purple. "An Irken such as him would lead our planet to ruin if he ever became the Almighty Tallest."

Red laughed. "You do not honestly believe he will succeed in invading Earth?"

"Of course not! However, to even suggest an Irken of his rank could rise to such an honorable position. . .it is dangerous. Assume that these earthlings are weak and idiotic."

"Cease your worrying," Red said assuredly, unblinking. "Zim is one insignificant, short, useless outcast fighting against an entire race. Even if by some miraculous wonder he manages to invade Earth, this was a private meeting. Who will believe him over us?"

"It is shameful for an Almighty Tallest to break their word," Purple protested.

"There will be no need to. Zim will never succeed."

"Why not hurt his chances even still?" suggested Purple.

Red was intrigued. "Go on."

"The Robotics Department collects faulty Retrieval Units for demolishing. Why not give Zim a faulty robotic assistant? Say as a parting gift?"

Red nodded his head. "This sounds amusing."

"His robotic assistant should be as useless as him. Not only useless. Problematic. Something to sabotage his efforts."

Red grinned crookedly at that last word. "Indeed. I will send someone to speak with the Irkens in charge of scrapping the faulty Retrieval Units."

"Good."

Zim was escorted to the small spaceship that would send him to Earth in only a few irkinutes.

A crowd of Irkens had gathered to watch Zim receive his punishment. Zim was disappointed to see that most looked relieved and even content.

The Tallests were correct in their observation. Zim was most definitely not popular.

The Irken soldiers had cuffed Zim's hands. Handcuffs on Irk were pliable. They were built to shrink or expand in order to fit any size wrist, but someone must have tampered with these handcuffs because they were digging painfully into his skin.

"The Irken Zim has been hereby exiled from the planet Irk for his rebellious actions!" announced an Irken soldier. "We shall learn from his mistakes in order to avoid suffering his same fate!"

We shall learn from his mistakes in order to avoid suffering his same fate.

That was the standard line when Irkens were publicly punished. The Irken soldiers had used that exact phrase for every one of Zim's violations.

The Irkens cheered as Zim boarded the spaceship. He restrained his anger, convinced that they would cheer for his return rather than his banishment once he conquered Earth.

His robotic assistant followed him inside the ship. The abbreviation for his name was apparently GIR. Unexpectedly, it was the Tallests who had granted it to him. They had called it a "parting gift," but Zim knew better. As he had told many before, he was not stupid. Perhaps the robot was designed to spy on him for the enjoyment of the Tallests. He would uncover their reasoning soon enough.

The door to the spaceship slowly closed after he had entered. The Irkens continued their joyful hurrahs as he was sent away.

Zim left his home, vowing to invade Earth and become the leader of Irk. He would rearrange order so higher positions could be achieved through work. The lazy soldiers who did nothing to assist their military would be replaced, and society would stop treating shorter Irkens as if they were mere dust clinging onto the bottoms of their shoes.

Just you wait!
