"hey Sarah how's Adella" asks Delores
"oh my God you're actually here, Adella is going to go nuts when she gets home from school, I mean you texted me saying you were coming but people say that all the time and don't actually follow through" says Sarah Lopez
"ya well Valerie deserves to meet her crush, she was the victim of a plot to kidnap Cat Valentine while she was in LA with her girlfriends, one of which is my niece Tori Vega, better known as Velvet Starlight, we're living in London with them and my other neice and her girlfriend, which means we can visit any time we want" says Delores as Valerie giggles recognizing the walls from the pictures
"she seems different" asks Sarah
"ya as a result of the plot the guy manipulated her with drugs and tied her to a garbage can and defiled her with his fingers and tongue for six hours straight, her short term memory only lasts five minutes and she only has reaction access to her long term memory, this is the best the doctors could do, why is Adella going to reject her" says Delores
"no in fact it might make her fall for her more, I doubt she'll want Valerie to leave, why is that some fear of yours, Adella feared she was being played and that Valerie was some rich American girl just looking to make fun of her" says Sarah
"wrong side of the family, I'm broke as broke can be, could barely afford her meds as it was, you can't imagine how happy it made me when the whole drive here she'd ask where we were going, I'd tell her we were going to see Adella, she'd giggle for three minutes then ask the question all over again because of the memory loop, Tori, my rich famous by another name neice bought an electric limousine mainly for the trips to Glasgow and back to London, she bought it specifically for Valerie, neither me nor Valerie are used to getting what we want, my husband left me when I'd decided I was going to keep Valerie, I'm an only mother who took any job she could to make sure Valerie could go to school and had food on the table, I'd thought about selling myself on the streets to make ends meet, I'd heard they got good money, then this happened and I was offered a house with my family, where my daughters medication is paid for, neither of us is used to that" says Delores
"what does Adella have to look forward to with her" asks Sarah
"on some level Valerie knows where she is, the moment we got to Tori's house she'd started scrolling through the conversation thread her and Adella had, staring at the pictures of Adella and only eating Adella themed foods, I mean that literally, Cat has a food safe printer, meaning she can put Adela's face on all foods, after the first time Cat did that it turned into the only way Valerie would eat, she always kisses her food before eating it then always apologized after, when I say kissed I mean on the food safe ink Adella lips, It makes me feel like the only way Valerie will eat while we're here is if they kiss first" says Delores
"that would honestly make Adella's day, she's a painter, actually painted a life size portrait of Valerie, of which she worships, stroking the painted hair, kissing the painted lips, she's always been more mature than girls her age" says Sarah as Adella walks in
"EEEEEEEEEEE NO WAY" screams Adella running over to hug Valerie as Valerie starts crying
"you startled her Adella, why aren't you still in school, don't you have like an hour left" says Sarah as Adella immediately backs away from Valerie as she stops crying
"top floor bathroom sink cold Water handle broke on full blast and flooded, there was like half a meter of Water running down the stairs, schools off till they fix it, nothing she texted me said she was easily scared" says Adella
"something happened to her in LA Hun, she was abused and hurt mentally, her memory only lasts five minutes and her long term memory isn't right, you squealing probably caught her off guard" says Sarah
"so what do I need to do to not scare her" asks Adella
"we're here till the new year, side hugs scare her, perfume infused hair clips or bows help, especially if you want to hug her with her back to you, otherwise only hug her from the front" says Delores
"what about kissing or sleeping" asks Adella
"she sleeps with minimal clothes on, she's like a human furnace when it comes to heat generation, as for kisses that's where she might draw the line" says Delores
"aww but she's more beautiful than those pictures can say, beautiful eyes, small kissable nose and the softest skin I've ever felt, does she not love me" says Adella
"when we got to my neice's house in London, like I told your mom, she scrolled through your conversation with her on my phone and would only eat food with your face on it, she'd kiss it first then apologize once she was finished, kissing isn't the issue, the issue is her memory loop, you might have to keep reminding her of who you are and if you share a bed why she's sleeping with you in her underwear, clearly you're a link between her long term memory and her short term memory, the main concern I have is how strong that connection is, this is a serious test, me bringing her here, she burns fat crazy fast, she has to keep snacking between meals to not lose weight, including in the middle of the night, not many people would love someone with her issues, that's why were here for so long, if you take that risk and show her love if you decide later that it wasn't as strong as you thought it will destroy her" says Delores
"believe me I've painted ten paintings of her in the last six days, she's all I think about and it's affected my grades, my biggest fear was I was falling for a lie, that I was texting a perv and I was in danger, seeing her here, seeing that she's really real, it's the best Christmas present I could ever receive, it doesn't matter to me that she's different, she could be deaf, mute and paralyzed and I'd still love her, I fell in love with her soul first" says Adella as Valerie presses their lips together violently
"is this normal for her" asks Sarah as Adella and Valerie fall and roll over one another still kissing
"no but I'd assumed given how much Adella food lip she'd been kissing that when they actually met that this would happen" says Delores as Valerie stops kissing Adella gasping for air
"a warning would have been nice" says Adella now cuddling Valerie
"I could have but I'd noticed that one trait carried over past the trauma, her hatred of me telling her secrets to others, she's allergic to nuts for example" says Delores as Valerie hisses in response
"ok I see your point miss Vega, may I take her to my room this floor is cold and I'd like a proper cuddle before I work on my homework, most of which I'd already worked on during the assembly, even though it's soaked now and I'll have to re-write it" says Adella
"ok but no touching her between her legs unless she says it's ok" says Delores
"that's not age appropriate" says Adella as Valerie pouts
"she's like you, mature for her age, both mentally and sexually, besides the one piece bathing suite pictures are her favorite, she literally drools over them" says Delores

"when I found that pen pal group for kids with advanced sexual maturity I was ecstatic for Valerie, she'd finally be able to talk to people who understand her, now go cuddle then do your homework, oh and don't be surprised if she's excessively cuddly or does things you don't expect or don't have permission to do yet, if it happens I'll tell the story of why, until then don't worry about it" says Delores as Valerie begins drooling as they head upstairs
"you aren't seriously giving your daughter permission to do what I think you are are you" asks Sarah

"oh great so I assume this means that little Adella won't be so little anymore, innocence taken by Valerie now" says Mark
"Mark she was the victim of molestation and drugged to the point it damaged her brain, the doctor had tried to bring Valerie back to her normal but failed, she has five minutes of short term memory and Adella as the only solid link to her long term memory, Delores says that us telling her no would be bad, make Valerie worse, that Adella saying no or setting boundaries might be the only way, until we know what effect Adella has on her we can't do anything or give Adella any advice" says Sarah
"I was going to introduce them at Christmas but Valerie will only eat Adella food safe inked food, she kisses her Adella face food on the lips, eats it then apologizes My neice's fiancé who has the food safe ink printer ran out of food safe ink, my daughter has a fast metabolism if she doesn't eat three meals and snacks in between she can't keep the weight on, it was either drive her up here thanks to my neice being Velvet Starlight and buying an electric limo to get us up here or be arrested for child endangerment, I didn't know what else to do" says Delores
"I see the problem, Adella has the opposite problem, due to a car accident when she was a baby of which she barely survived, her metabolism slowed down, thankfully though it was also when we found out she was sexually aging faster than most children, possibly caused by the same accident, I guess in your position you didn't have a choice, I guess there are worse times for Adella to experiment, do you want coffee or tea or something, it's a pretty cold day" says Mark

"it's cute, you stopped cuddling me, I thought I could almost feel my brain fix itself for a moment there, I don't have anything else to look at while you're on your computer doing homework" says Valerie
"give me half an hour to finish and print it then we can cuddle as long as you want, school won't be open for about a week now, maybe not till after Christmas" says Adella noticing Valerie almost seems normal as Valerie falls asleep
24 minutes later
"wake up cutie, it's cuddle time" says Adella taking off her shirt and shorts and getting under the covers with Valerie as she opens her eyes
"I had a dream, we got married, it makes me happy" says Valerie
"you seem almost normal, nothing like you mom explained" asks Adella
"I'm not normal, not anymore, away from you I'm very much like what my mom said, I can't explain it, something about you makes my brain work better, I can think clearer, I can remember things better, I'm dreading the day I have to go back to London, I don't wan to be away from you, can we kiss again" says Valerie
"we only moved up here because my dad found a job up here that paid more than the job he had in Plymouth, you don't want me to touch you down there, you seemed very eager to as we walked up the stairs" says Adella
"of course I want you to, the only person I had touch me down there violated my privacy, he drugged me for six hours and tied me up so yes I want to know what a loving touch feels like, your parents will get mad at me though so we really shouldn't, it's not age appropriate" pouts Valerie
"they gave me permission to, they won't get mad, like me they had serious doubts near the end that you were actually real, they thought things lined up too perfectly, so seeing you actually here is a surprise to them, and honestly me, how about I scratch that itch on your inner thigh, that way my hand will be close but without actually touching it" says Adella
"I guess that works for me" says Valerie
Later that night at supper
"so how'd the touching go" asks Mark
"we didn't, kissed mostly once my homework was done we cuddled tons, I scratched the itch on her inner thigh but we didn't actually touch there" says Adella
"mom can You pass the butter please" asks Valerie as everyone's mouth drops
"excuse me, you haven't spoken un-prompted since that day Valerie Vega" says Delores passing the butter
"she said being near me like this allows her to think clearer, as you suspected Miss Vega I'm like a key for her, she does not understand it and is dreading the day you take her back to London" says Adella as Valerie suddenly falls asleep and falls onto Adella's lap
"is that expected behaviour" asks Mark
"she hasn't done that since before the incident so it's normal yes, expected no, it's possible her body is exhausted from being able to actually work for the first time in almost two and a half weeks, I'd suggest a liquid diet, shakes, smoothies, juice, water and pop for the remainder of the time we're here" says Delores as Adella suddenly gasps
"what is it dear" asks Sarah
"she's drooling right onto my underwear… I don't know how I feel about her mouth being that close to that particular area" says Adella
"yup she's exhausted, she fell asleep, ever since you started texting her Adella she's always drooled in her sleep" says Delores
"that doesn't seem normal" says Mark
"it's not but she's never really been normal Mark, normally she's at the end of the table in a chair when that happens, normally she falls off her chair, she's on a bench with Adella, it was likely never her intention to drool on your underwear Adella, like I've said before, Valerie burns calories at twice the rate, occasionally that leads to falling asleep mid meal, you should be lucky she didn't fall asleep with a fork in her mouth, that was an expensive dentist visit, I had to spend money I didn't have to fix three teeth, what really happened up there, cuddling shouldn't have burned up that much energy" says Delores
"We just kissed and cuddled, other than my scratching an itch on her inner thigh we didn't do anything" says Adella
"did she say anything about touching" asks Delores
"yes, she said the only person touched her there invaded her privacy and made her body do things she didn't want it to do for him, that it felt like he was making her cheat on me, also that she did want me to touch her there so she could know what a loving touch felt like but that she felt scared that my parents would scream at her, oh and she felt like making you take care of her when she's like how she is away from me is stopping you from finding her a dad who cares" says Adella
"we gave you guys permission" says Mark
"she doesn't believe it's genuine, she says it feels like a trap so you guys can have her arrested, she feels her mom is giving her permission to do adult things with me out of pity" says Adella
"how can we get her to trust that we mean what we say" asks Mark
"you can't, the man that violated her in all ways but one was an adult, therefore she won't trust most adults at all, as it is she does not trust herself alone with me in my room, she has absolutely zero reason to trust you, she only trusts her mom because she's… well her mom but that doesn't mean full stop trust, she said she fully expected to be dropped off in the middle of nowhere on the way here, he seriously damaged her guys, she barely believes she's worthy of trust because of what he did" says Adella
"maybe I should leave her here and go back to London then, I couldn't protect her from him, you've gotten her to say more than I ever could" says Delores
"please don't leave her, just because she has trust issues does not mean you should leave her here without your presence, she didn't think you'd actually bring her to me, then she realized you did, trust takes time to build, when she asked for butter it wasn't her actually asking for butter, it was a test to see if you trusted her enough to believe she really understood what she was asking for, don't you see she never actually buttered anything, you guys were talking about boundaries that needed to be set between me and her, that won't work with her, she sees that as diminishing her down to a child who doesn't know better, for her to learn to trust you guys you have to trust her one hundred percent, no ifs ands or butts, she followed her moms rules about never walking the same way to school and he still got to her, she sees rules as traps" says Adella
