A/N: I just want to let you all know that I have written 2 books explaining Y/N's backstory over the summer and I AM SO EXCITED TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONG! Enjoy!

Chapter 31:

"Since we do seem to have some time, I guess I should start by apologizing to you," Chris said, looking down uncomfortably at your BSAA bag that was still on the table where you had left it last. You sighed and walked over to the couch knowing you would probably need to sit down for this.

Chris sat next to you and sighed as well. There was an uncomfortable silence in the thin air and a pressure on your chest. "Well obviously you know you're a BSAA soldier, right?" he asked you.

"Yeah, Heisenberg told me."

"Do you remember anything at all from your past?" You rubbed the back of your neck and thought about all of your recently uncovered memories.

"Well… I remembered some things, but only recently. I started having these… weird memory attacks, or whatever. They kind of get triggered by my emotions and I have flashbacks. Only, they don't feel like flashbacks. It feels like I'm reliving my memories, like I'm actually there. Only… I'm watching it happen to another person and not me. Does that make sense?"

"About as much sense as it would in your situation. Look Y/N, I'm going to tell you everything that happened to you and how you got to this village. There are going to be some things you'll hear that you probably don't want to."

"No. I'm ready. I don't want to keep running from my past anymore. I'm so tired of being scared all the time! I want to know who I am and where I come from, I'm not afraid!" You were determined, you deserved to know what happened to you and why you were sent here.

"Alright then. For starters, my name is Chris Redfield. I'm a leader of one of the BSAA squads, Hound Wolf Squad. My men and I came here to stop Miranda and all of her experiments, she's been the cause of decades worth of unspeakable acts and crimes against humanity. She's the reason the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance even exists. Miranda is the root cause of all of these viruses and her experiments on humans have caused whole cities to collapse. We came here to finally put an end to her. Now, almost three years ago you were sent here undercover to gain intel on Miranda and the Lords."

"Yeah, I know. I remembered following Heisenberg into Miranda's hideout and getting captured. I know I was sent here to spy on her and the Lords, I just don't know why, or who even sent me." Chris looked away and sighed a deep breath.

"That's where I apologize." You looked at him. "I'm the one that sent you here on a secret mission to gain intel on the Village and learn about Miranda and her relationship with The Connections. But before you were sent here, my team and yours were sent out on a mission to capture one of The Connection's leaders. We did end up capturing him, but he escaped. Now you, you had a tendency of taking matters into your own hands and going solo, it always used to piss me off. I followed you when you took off after our escaped prisoner. He had you pinned to the ground and sliced your eye."

"Okay, that I remember too. He's the reason I have this scar," you said, pointing to your scared left eye and feeling the skin around it. "Only… someone saved me. I can't remember who it was, but I kind of remember what he looked like. I knew he looked familiar, I just couldn't remember who it was. Damn, I never imagined I would end up seeing you again." It was Chris. He's the one that saved your life that day, he looked the same as he does now, beard and all.

"Yeah, me neither. After I saved you, you asked me if there was anything you could do in return for saving your life. I needed someone to go on this mission and find out anything and everything we could on Miranda and her involvement with The Connections. You agreed to do it and told everyone you were taking a vacation to the Caribbeans to throw everyone off. That way if anything did happen, people would look for you in the wrong place, and only I would know where to find you. It was too dangerous to involve anyone else in this, I couldn't have BSAA soldiers storming through this Village looking for you without knowing anything about Miranda. We had no idea what she was capable of and I didn't want to start a war with her just yet." You nodded your head and closed your eyes. Everything Chris said was making sense, even if it did piss you off. You understood why he wanted no one involved in this mission, but at the same time, he took away your entire life. He may not have been the cause, but he is part of the reason that you lost all of your memories.

"Well, at least you saved my life," you said, folding your arms across your chest and trying not to get too upset. You didn't want your feelings and emotions to take over you and trigger another memory attack, so instead, you just kept breathing through your nose and tried to control yourself and stay calm.

"I remember you joking and saying it makes you look like a scary villain."

"Sounds like something I would say," you chuckled.

"Yeah, you were always a wisecracking jokester, just like your father." You looked at him and felt your heart thumping in your chest. You rubbed your face and sighed, this was a lot of information to take in.

"You know, I remember my parents dying. Or at least someone telling me they died. I don't remember how it happened, but I know they did."

"Yeah, that was when you were still training to be a BSAA soldier. You were a mess when that happened."

"I don't remember my parents, but… I feel like I was close with my dad."

"You were, he's the whole reason you trained to be a soldier. Your father was a soldier on Ghost Squad, he was the second in command."

"Ghost squad… is that why I have this spray painted on?" you asked, pointing to the ghost that was spray painted onto your bulletproof vest.

"Yes. Your team members are… expressive is the right word to use. They all have a ghost somewhere on their uniforms. Do you remember your father's code name?"

"No."

"It was Grim Reaper, the same as your own. You took his place soon after he died and kept his nickname. Although, everyone called you Reaper Jr."

"That explains the tattoo," you said, pulling your sleeve up and looking at the tattoo.

"Yeah, you got that to honor your dad. I always thought it was kind of a dumb tattoo, but to each their own I suppose."

"It is kind of stupid," you chuckled. The tattoo felt like something you would've thought was cool as a teenager, but as an adult, you kind of regretted getting it. At least the tattoo had some meaning to it though and wasn't just some stupid, random thing you got on a dumb whim. "So, I'm a BSAA soldier and my team name is ghost Squad?" Chris nodded his head.

"Yes. Your team specialized in stealth and assassination missions, occasionally aiding other teams as well."

"Well if the Ghost Squad specializes in stealth missions, I don't know how I ever got accepted. I'm not really great at being sneaky," you chuckled, rubbing the back of your neck.

"Well, you're not horrible at it. Definitely not the best, but what you lack in stealth, you make up for in combat. You're actually one of the best soldiers I've fought alongside with." Chris said.

"Well thanks, but I'm not sure how much of a soldier I am anymore." Chris looked down.

"Look Y/N, no matter what happens, or who you are, you're a soldier, and no one can ever take that away from you. Memories gone or not, you're always going to be a soldier." You felt a sense of pride throughout you and sighed. It was a familiar feeling. You had always felt a calling to help people and protect those who couldn't protect themselves, even the maids that used to work in the castle. You knew you always wanted to be of service and help people who couldn't help themselves and for years you had shoved that feeling down. But now you had a chance, a chance to prove yourself that while you may not be the strongest or the sneakiest person, you could still make a difference.

The Lords of the Village, the girls, the Villagers themselves, all of these people had been forced to live under Miranda's reign of terror. All of the pain and suffering that woman had caused made you… feel something. A need to do something about it, to put an end to her once and for all, and stop her from hurting so many people. She couldn't continue to torture anyone else anymore, you would see to that. Even the Lords were victims themselves, look at how she used Alcina's daughters against her! Threatening to kill them at a moment's notice unless she agreed to whatever Miranda wanted Alcina to do. The same could be said for the other Lords as well, they may not have children but Miranda had found a way to threaten all of them. And though the Lords weren't exactly innocent, they still deserved to have lives of their own without worrying whether or not Miranda would end them. Besides, maybe if Miranda was gone the Lords could find a new way to live, one where people didn't have to suffer anymore.

You had to do something, you just knew it! You would not sit by while Miranda continued to terrorize entire towns and cities. She needed to be stopped. "The only thing Ethan came here to this Village for was to save his daughter, and now he's dead. I don't know exactly what Miranda plans to do with Rose, but I won't let her use Ethan's kid. I'll put an end to her, once and for all. I swear it!" you growled, holding your necklace in hand and vowing to kill Miranda.

"Now you're talking like a real soldier," Chris said, patting you on the back.

"Is there anything else you need to tell me? You know, before we go charging into battle?" you asked Chris.

"None that I can think of. I just… I'm sorry for never coming back. I always meant to, but right after you disappeared, Ethan got involved in some business out in Louisiana and the clean up was… a lot. There was so much damage control we had to do, plus the cover up. There was this… family in Louisiana and they got infected from one of Miranda's viruses, and then Mia got kidnapped, then Ethan got involved. It took a long time to fix everything and I couldn't just leave in the middle of all of that to get you. No one knew where you had gone except for me. I couldn't tell anyone about that, not even you're team members. Officially, you're marked as missing in action. Y/N, I'm sorry. I never should have let you go off on your own." Chris looked sincere, eyes scrunched up and regret shining on his face. You looked down and thought about everything.

There was a part of you that wanted to scream at him and blame him for everything that had happened, he was in a way, the cause of your memories missing and the entire reason you were in the Village. You had a life and it felt like he took that away from you, and he never came looking for you or to check in on you. For years you had wondered if there was anyone from your old life that missed you. Then again, had Chris never sent you on this mission, you would have never met Alcina or her daughters and though it took a while for you to become a part of their family, you were grateful that you were. "I forgive you, Chris. As much as I am pissed with you, I get why you sent me here and didn't tell anyone. The Lords probably would've killed anybody that came to the Village looking for me and it would've caused a riot," you said, looking down at the floor and thinking. "Honestly, I really just want to move forward from all of this."

"You've changed a lot," Chris said, eyeing you.

"I guess living in a Village for three years without knowing who you are and being scared for your life everyday will do that to you," you said, trying to lighten the mood.

"Good to see you haven't lost your humor though," Chris said, smirking at you. Before you could respond, Heisenberg burst through the door and shut it behind him. His hat and sunglasses were askew, and his clothes were even dirtier than usual.

"What's happening?" Chris asked, scrunching up his eyes and standing up. You stood up too.

"Okay, slight problem," Heisenberg said as you heard a deep, thunderous roar from somewhere in the factory.

"What problem?" Chris growled, grabbing his gun.

"Well, you know how Miranda can control the lycans?"

"Yeah," you said, grabbing your rifle.

"Well, turns out she can also control Urias," Heisenberg said as another roar came from somewhere in the castle.

"Who's Urias?" you asked.

"Oh, just one of my bosses. He's a powerful lycan, about four times the size of a regular lycan and four times stronger, ye big." Heisenberg said.

"You've got to be kidding me," you said.

"Fucking wish I was. Look, if you two are done with your bullshit therapy session, I could use some back up," Heisenberg said.

"What, your soldats couldn't help?" you ask.

"I told you! Urias is four times stronger than a normal lycan! How the fuck do you expect them to able to take him down?!" Heisenberg yelled at you. Chris sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Alright. Let's move out," he said, walking over to the door as another roar came from the factory. You checked to see how many more rounds you had in your rifle and sighed anxiously before following Chris.

"That gun ain't gonna do much against him, Tiny," Heisenberg said.

"You got anything better?"

"Actually, yes I do. My super-sized bitch sister has a shitty armory full of outdated weapons, she doesn't have anything strong enough to stop Urias. We can stop at my armory before we kill Urias," Heisenberg said, opening the door and walking out.

"Do we have any time to do that?" you asked him.

"Well not really, we might end up being fucked. Urais is fast as hell, mother fucker can jump from floor to floor, plus there's all the lycans to worry about," Heisenberg said, stepping over some of the lycans that were bleeding out on the ground. One of them was still alive and growled on the floor, trying to get up, but Heisenberg smashed his boot into his head. "Fucking traitor," he grumbled. You felt your stomach jump and looked away from the smashed brain that was all over his boot.

"Was that really necessary?" Chris asked.

"Unless you want him to eat you for dinner, then fuck yes it was!" Heisenberg replied, his boots leaving bloody tracks all over the floor. "Look, the armory is just one floor below this one. We'll take the elevator, grab you a gun that isn't shitty, kill Urias, and then Miranda." Heisenberg said.

"Where is Urias right now? I can distract him while you two go off," Chris said.

"Last I saw, he was on the first floor tearing some of the soldat's apart. You can pursue him if you want to, just don't blame me if you end up getting killed."

"Great. I'll take the stairs. Meet me once you get better weapons and we'll take him out." Chris said, running off to the stairs and leaving as another loud roar and a bunch of booming noises came from below.

"Well hurry the fuck up Tiny!" Heisenberg said, walking over to the elevator and wiping some of the lycan's brains off of his boot.

"Right," you said, pressing the button on the elevator and trying not to feel too anxious.
