AN: To those bashing on the pairings because they're not 'hot enough' please put actual reasons for pairings in reviews if you have arguments against them. Also, WHY would I pair Percy with Delia Ketchum? Seriously?!

AN2: To those who liked the idea of the randomizer story I decided to roll the initial information to see what it would happen and find out if you all would still like it. If this story happens here's that starter data:

Region: Kalos

Pairing: Lorelei (aged down to be closer to Ash's age)

Other travelling companions: Silver (the son of Giovanni), Clair (of Johto) and Roxie (of Unova)

Rival: Paul

Starter Pokémon: Sigilyph

Still unsure how to handle some things, such as Shiny encounter rates but yeah, this story would have those base starting pieces of information as Ash goes through the Kalos region. Let me know if y'all still want me to go through with it.

AN3: Another story style idea would be using a randomizer mod so Ash goes through whatever region but what he catches would be completely random. I would play the randomizer and the first thing I'm able to catch from each route is what Ash gets in the story (think randomizer Nuzlocke but without death)

Chapter 4

-Percy-

Yawning, Percy walked down to the lobby of the hotel, Ash at his side. After the incident at the Pokémon center he, Ash, and the two girls who'd been there got moved to a local hotel to wait until a League Representative could come to get their reports and check on reports about the criminal lunatics who'd started throwing explosives and reciting poetry. "Mornin boys." Looking over, Percy saw the redhead he'd saved yesterday, the greenete already at a table and chowing down.

"Morning yourself Zoey." Percy grinned at her, Ash already rushing to the buffet to grab a plate of food as big as Angie's as the two began wolfing it down like starving wolves.

"Damnit you two, have some manners." Zoey rolled her eyes as she and Percy joined the buffet, their friends ignoring them happily.

"So, didn't get a chance to ask yesterday, but how did you and Angie meet?" Percy asked as he and Zoey started filling up their own plates to eat, his full of a much more balanced meal after years of Chiron's lecture about proper diet for heroes.

"We're both from Sinnoh actually." Zoey smiled "We met up at a summer camp a couple years ago and stayed in contact afterwards, wanting to do our journeys together."

"Nice." Percy gave a faint nostalgic smile at the memories of his own summer camp experiences.

"What about you?" Zoey started filling up a drink "You and Ash seem close?"

"I've only known him a couple days." Percy admitted "He and his mom saved me when they found me unconscious and injured on the side of the road."

"What?!" Zoey gaped, drawing attention from the others in the Hotel dining area as Percy waved them off.

"Yeah," Percy gave a sheepish grin at the unintentional scene "I hit my head pretty hard before they found me, so I forgot a lot of stuff. They got me up to speed on the basics, and helped patch me up. Since I was old enough to go on a Journey, and Professor Oak was nearby, they gave me some balls to catch a starter so I could travel with Ash."

"…You got injured, developed at least partial amnesia, and instantly set off to wander the wilderness with someone you just met?" Zoey gave him a flat look as Percy whistled innocently as best he could.

"Ugh, boys." Zoey rolled her eyes, punching his shoulder playfully as Percy laughed, not noticing her shake her hand with a wince after the impact.

"But yeah," Percy admitted "I wanted to see more of the world since I never got to see much of it before. I'm honestly not even sure what area I'm actually from so I'm hoping I'll find some answers when I wander."

"Okay, that makes sense." Zoey admitted as they walked back to the table where Ash and Angie were now having a contest to see who could eat waffles faster.

"So, what Pokémon do you two have so far?" Percy asked as he sat down, Ash's mouth too full to say anything without food going flying.

"Well, I have my starter Glameow, and Angie has a Shinx." Zoey answers for her equally occupied friend "They're from Sinnoh, like us."

"If you're from Sinnoh why come here for your journey?" Ash managed to swallow for a brief moment to ask before diving back into his massive plate of food.

"Well Angie's goal is to become a Pokémon breeder and so she wanted to get a Ditto." Zoey explained as she began eating much more sedately "I'm aiming to become the worlds top Coordinator. Kanto has some majestic Pokémon like Ninetails, plus one of the better coordinators from the Sinnoh circuit I watched is a Kanto native, so I decided to check it out here as it would give Angie a chance to find a Ditto where they originated."

"Nice!" Ash gave a thumbs up, having finished his food a few bites faster than Angie who's now sulking "I'm aiming to become a Pokémon Master and a regional champion."

"At the moment I don't have an end goal." Percy admitted with a shrug "I do have a good team though. I'm planning to primarily focus on Water types while Ash mostly works with Fighting ones."

The girls stared at the Pikachu happily dozing on Ash's head at those words "He's my starter." Ash explained "But I caught a Heracross yesterday. All of Percy's Pokémon are water types though."

"Any good ones?" Zoey asked, head tilted intrigued.

"I caught a Gyarados yesterday." Percy nodded as the girls gave him an impressed look, finding one this early apparently being a very good thing "And my two starters are a Spheal and a Kyogre."

"Hey!" Ash protested as Angie doused him with an orange juice spit take, Angie choking on her omelet as Percy had to slap her back to dislodge the food.

"Your starter is a what?!" the girls gaped together.

"He's just a baby but yeah, he wanted to come with." Percy nodded, shuddering at the memory of his mother.

"Kyogre's mom threatened to eat Percy if he doesn't look after him properly." Ash added helpfully.

"Hey, you're not getting out of helping either." Percy gave Ash a look, not going to blow the apparent 'Chosen one' secret but implying that he was also given responsibility by the legendary of the seas was close enough.

"If that's any indication of how your journey is going to go do you mind if we travel with you two for a while?" Zoey shook her head in bewilderment, "It's just a hunch but I have a feeling you two are going to run into all the weird shit."

"And I still need to beat you at an eating contest!" Angie pointed a finger at Ash dramatically "My crown will be reclaimed!"

"Keep dreaming peasant," Ash gave a mock arrogant laugh "the title is mine and mine alone!"

Rolling his eyes at their antics, Percy turned towards Zoey "I don't have any problem with it." He didn't get any bad feelings from the two girls, having learned to trust his gut after Luke first betrayed him.

"I'm down for it." Ash gave a big happy grin as well, "Journeys are always best with a group…or at least that's what my dad always said."

"Your dad?" Percy tilted his head, realizing neither Ash nor his mom mentioned a dad in the time he spent with them.

"ASH!" the door to the hotel as a massive muscle-bound man stood there.

"Hi Dad!" Ash waved only to let out a strangled sound as the massive man rushed over, hugging and fretting over the boy.

"B-B-Bruno?!" Zoey gaped at the sight of the musclebound man, Percy subtly using his pokedex phone thing to look up the name and found he was apparently part of the 'Elite Four' that Ash had mentioned.

"Indeed!" the man gave a boisterous laugh, showing the same jolly energy at the other Ketchums "But more importantly I'm Ash's father! I agreed to come get your statements filed before I take Ash and Percy away."

"Away?" the four rookie trainers tilted their heads.

"Delia told me about what happened." Bruno explained "So I decided to help you two get some serious early training in where I first learned…the Master Dojo of Galar!"

Zoey and Angie shared a look "You find tickets to Galar, I'll start battling trainers for cash." Zoey declared as Angie nodded, the girls hurrying off.

"Wait, you boys already have girls determined to travel with you?...I'M SO PROUD!"
