Tanjiro, Peach, Zelda, and Kirby watched as another figure dropped down from the Halberd. He had a plump and chubby stature. He wore an outfit that made him look like he belonged in a biker gang: blue leather jacket, yellow fingerless gloves, pink jeans, yellow helmet with goggles, etc. The fingerless gloves and the biker helmet both had a big blue letter W on them. He had a rather big nose and a pointy mustache.
"Wario!?" Peach exclaimed.
"You know him!?" Tanjiro asked.
"Oh yeah, Wario time!" The man known as Wario exclaimed. He then stopped as he looked at Kirby, Peach, and Tanjiro. "Hmm." Wario then turned behind him to see Zelda who was still on the floor. "You're not-a really what I came for but, eh, if the shoe fits." He said while picking his nose. Wario then began to aim at Zelda some sort of red, black, white, and purple device that resembled the head of a dragon. Wario then began to charge it up as a slight orange glow came from it. Finally, Wario shot this weird Black, arrow-like projectile at Zelda. The Hyrule princess was hit directly before being enveloped in a bright flash of light. Tanjiro covered his eyes before looking to see that Zelda had become a Trophy.
"Zelda!" Tanjiro exclaimed.
Wario leaped towards the trophy-fied Zelda, picked her up and slung her over his back. Wario held three fingers at the Trio. "Later, losers! Have-a fun in Subspace! HAHAHAHAHA!" He then jumped back into the Halberd with his weird contraption and a Trophy-fied Zelda in tow.
"Poyo!" Kirby called out. Then out of the sky came a floating, glowing shooting star-shaped platform."
"We need to go after him, hop on." Peach said.
"Ah, Right!" Tanjiro then ran towards Kirby and Peach.
But as he was running, he took a quick glance to his left. His eyes widened in fear.
The bomb's timer only had 10 seconds left. "CRAP! I FORGOT ABOUT THE TIMER!" Tanjiro gasped before sprinting full speed and hopping on the warp star as quickly as he could, "Kirby, go! GO NOW!"
"Poyo!" Kirby flew full speed out of the Midair Stadium with Peach and Tanjiro in tow just in the nick of time as the Stadium filled with a purple and black substance that seemed to consume it in some sort of...Black Hole explosion.
Tanjiro could only watch in despair as the entire arena was consumed as well as the people along with it.
"Those people, they're all…" Tanjiro began, but didn't dare to finish.
"Oh dear…" Peach put a hand over her mouth looking with Tanjiro at what was once the Midair Stadium and was now a humongous, purple, black orb. "Why didn't they leave? Surely, if one saw what was happening, then they would've left the stadium immediately?"
"I don't know, but…" Tanjiro began. He looked back to the Purple and Black explosion of darkness. "We need to find out what's happening and why." Then, an idea popped into Tanjiro's head. He then turned back to the Mushroom Kingdom Princess and the Star Warrior. "You guys go on ahead and chase that ship."
"But what about you?" Peach asked.
"If I somehow ended up here without knowing how, then maybe my friends are too." Tanjiro explained. "If I can find them, they would definitely know that something big is happening and would be willing to help us in this situation. Maybe, while I'm at it, I can see if I can find a way back on the Mugen Train."
"Mugen Train…? Peach questioned.
"Poyo?" Kirby added.
"Er...back home is what I mean." Tanjiro said. "But not without helping here of course."
"I see…" Peach said. "But how do you know if your friends are even here?"
"I don't." The Demon Slayer replied. "But it's definitely worth checking to see if they are. If they aren't then I'm sure I can find my way back to you guys one way or another."
"If you're sure, then…" Peach began before looking at Kirby, who gave her a curious look, then back at Tanjiro. "Just promise you'll be safe?"
"I handled those Primids pretty well back there." Tanjiro said. "I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. You, be safe as well, Peach."
"You don't have to worry about that. Besides, I'll have Kirby with me!" Peach said cheerfully.
"Poyo!" Kirby said, smiling while waving his nub arm.
"But how do you plan on getting down-TANJIRO! You're not seriously planning on jumping are you!?" Peach exclaimed.
"Poyo…" Kirby said scoldingly. He had a look on his face that said 'stop being such a mom'.
"You're right, I apologize." Peach said with apology. "Good Luck, Tanjiro."
"Thanks, you as well." Tanjiro said before leaping off the Warpstar and into the unknown below the Sea of Clouds.
Meanwhile, near the Sea of Clouds was Skyworld, and inside Skyworld was a Temple with someone watching the tragic events unfold in the Midair Stadium with the use of a magic fountain. He wore Cloud-white clothing, with golden bands on his arms and legs. He wore brown sandals with buckles on them that went up to right below his knees. He had a navy blue undershirt and shorts, a golden leaf headband, as well as two large white Angel wings on his back. This boy went by the name of Pit. The captain of Palutena's Army, Pit fights on the Goddess's behalf while receiving her assistance via giving him Powers and her vast knowledge in order to protect humanity and maintain celestial balance throughout Skyworld and the rest of the universe.
Pit was pacing back and forth in panic, having just watched the Subspace Bomb explode and seeing 5 people there as well as a whole entire crowd worried him a lot. He was pacing around the room, rambling to himself
"Oh man, this is bad." Pit rambled. "This is really, REALLY bad."
Pit was snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a bright glow from behind him to see the Goddess of Palutena standing before him.
While this wasn't her true form, her person form was something that only people like Pit and mortals could comprehend. This form had her have very long green hair, a long white gown with a red trim, a golden crown resembling a halo, and other added accessories.
"Pit." Palutena called out, getting the angel general's attention.
"Huh? Ah! Lady Palutena!" Pit cried before running to her and kneeling in respect. "Lady Palutena, there's-"
"I know." Palutena said. "I also saw everything that happened, Pit. So I'll get straight to the point, something is happening, something big."
"How big?" Pit asked
"So big, that I fear the entire world may be at stake." The Goddess replied.
"So…take-over-the-world Big." Pit tried to summarize.
"Most likely." Palutena nodded with a small chuckle. "But, you must focus on your new mission. Here." She then held her hand out as a shining, floating yellow orb. As it slowly floats towards Pit, it morphs into the Palutena Bow, a weapon capable of shooting light arrows all the while having two detachable blades to use in combat. Pit grabbed it, having two glowing halos on his left arm.
"Thank you, Lady Palutena." Pit nodded his head in respect. "I won't fail you."
Palutena nodded with a smile before waving her hand in front of her. "Now go! Defeat this new evil and mysterious army and free the other fighters!"
"Right!" Pit nodded and ran for the door with the Palutena bow in hand. He waved goodbye to Palutena one last time before spreading his arms out. The door then opened as Pit spread his wings out and fell backwards. As Pit fell through the cloud sky, he soon turned himself on his stomach, and then let his wings do the rest as he glided through Skyworld. "Off I go!"
A little while later Pit landed gracefully on a stone platform Somewhere in Skyworld and looked around. "Now where did-" Pit was cut off by an ominous roaring of jet engines. He looked right to see a familiar ship rise from the clouds. Pit gasped. "Ah! That's-!" He remembered it as the ship that invaded the Midair Stadium and blew it up with a Subspace Bomb: The Halberd.
The bat-winged ship finished rising from the clouds and made a left towards Pit. It flies above the Angel while opening a hatch, dropping the Shadow Bugs (the purple particles) on the clouds of Skyworld. A few seconds after they hit the ground, Primids started to Rise from them and started to walk menacingly towards Pit, while the Halberd flew away.
The general of Palutena's army only scoffed. "Pft, you guys aren't so tough." Pit then detached the two blades from the Palutena Bow and slashed around himself, prepping for battle. "Come and get me!"
Pit easily defeated the horde of Primids and Spaaks before continuing his way through Skyworld. After a short time of traveling through a small cloud maze. Pit jumped and landed on the cliff side of a very tall mountain. Pit was scanning the area around himself. While expecting to only find clouds, clouds, and more clouds. He instead found something rather odd. He looked in the distance to see two objects laying down on their sides. Pit walked up to them to get a closer look. "Huh? What's that?"
Pit's eyes widened to see that one of them was none other than a Trophy-fied Mario. Pit put the pieces together and figured that the Red Plumber ended up here because of getting Launched by the cannonball. Eager, Pit tapped the base of the Trophy and revived Mario. After a flash of bright light, Mario was on his hands and knees.
"Mamma Mia...what happened?" Mario questioned. He remembered the sequence of events that got him here. He stood up, fixed his hat, and dusted himself off. He then turned and noticed Pit. "Are you the one who revived me?"
"You Bet!" Pit replied with a peace sign. "Name's Pit, and Uh...I'm sort of a big fan of yours" He said while scratching the back of his head.
"I see." Mario said. "Well-a thank you for reviving me Pit. I don't know what would've happened if I just sat there as a trophy and couldn't do anything."
"Well, I couldn't just sit there and watch people get kidnapped and turned into trophies." Pit said.
"Kidnapped?" Mario asked.
"Speaking of which, we should probably revive your friend here as well." Pit said.
"Huh?" Mario said, confused.
"Is he not with you?" Pit asked, pointing to the second object.
The second object was another Trophy of a person. Mario almost mistook him for his new friend, Tanjiro. He had similar clothing to Tanjiro, but the different colors, hair and face said otherwise.
He had unruly, long black hair in a ponytail with some tufts sticking up on his head and a pale emotionless expression. He had dark cyan baggy pants and a haori that split down the middle of two different patterns: A solid Red on the right and a geometric pattern of green, yellow, and orange squares on the left.
Mario was heavily reminded of Tanjiro, thinking that he may be in the same situation as him. Not saying anything, Mario taped the base of the stranger, reviving him.
After a bright flash of light, the young man awakened. He looked around himself, not recognizing his surroundings.
"Um...hello!" Pit greeted. The emotionless boy turned to them, not saying anything.
"Are you...okay?" Mario asked.
"..." The boy looked at them with silence, before looking at his surroundings again for a few seconds. After that, the boy finally spoke. "Did I die?"
"What? No." Pit said.
"What-a made you think that?" Mario asked.
"I am standing in a land of clouds and there is an angel standing right before me." The boy said.
"While you aren't wrong on both those accounts, I can guarantee you, you're not dead." Pit assured him.
"Then where am I? And how did I get here? And who are the both of you?"
"One; you're in Skyworld. Two; I have no idea. And Three; My name's Pit!" The angel general said, answering all his questions.
"It's-a me, Mario!" Mario introduced himself. "Say, you wouldn't happen to know a guy named-a Tanjiro Kamado would you?"
His expression stayed the same. "Tanjiro is here as well? Where is he now?"
"Last I saw him, he was with-a Peach, Zelda, and Kirby in the Midair Stadium but...they're probably long gone by now because of the Subspace Bomb."
"Subspace...Bomb?" The boy questioned.
"Listen, long-story-short, something is happening with this evil army and we're trying to find out what's going on." Pit explained.
"Say, maybe you could join us in stopping this army?" Mario suggested. "Perhaps while you're at it you could look for Tanjiro."
"..." The boy thought to himself for a moment. "Very well. I shall join you on your quest in search of my friends and in hope of stopping this evil army."
"Friends?" Pit asked. "As in plural?"
"Yes, I would have to guess that other than Tanjiro, myself as well as two other Hashira were together before we blacked out and I ended up here." The boy said.
"Hmmmmm." Mario thought to himself. "Could it have been the same with Tanjiro as well?"
"What is it?" Pit asked.
"Nothing." Mario said. "And what did you say your name was?"
"My name is Giyu Tomioka. I am the current Water Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps." The boy now known as Giyu said. "Usually I don't reveal myself and my occupation to, as well as go with strangers that I've only just met. However, the both of you seem to at least know more about what's going on than I do, so I suppose that you both are the most trustworthy people in this situation. However,..." Giyu then rushed up to Pit with blinding speeds and put his Nichirin Blade up to his neck. "If any of you have even the slightest intention of betraying me, I will personally decapitate you myself, is that clear?"
"WAH! Y-YES SIR!" Pit shouted in surprise.
"You got it!" Mario said, trying to resolve the situation. "J-Just-a put the sword away."
"Hmph." Giyu said as he put his Nichirin Blade back in it's sheath. "Good, now I have one more question.
"Uh, okay. Shoot." Pit said, a little uneasy.
"Would THEY happen to be the so-called 'evil army' you were talking about?" Giyu pointed behind them to see that more Primids and Spaaks had appeared.
"Uh, yeah. That's them." Pit and Mario readied themselves for combat, but Giyu stopped them
"...Stay back." Giyu said before slowly walking up to the enemies.
"Huh? What are you doing?" Pit asked.
Giyu did not answer. Instead, he kneeled down on one knee with his hand on the handle. The Primids and Spaaks were running/flying towards the Water Hashira. Giyu looked down while Mario and Pit watched in confusion and curiosity. "Total Concentration, Water Breathing: Eleventh Form." The enemies got closer as he stayed completely still. "Dead Calm."
Just as the Primids were about to dog-pile on top of Giyu, they were all sliced in half by what seemed like just getting near the Water Hashira. Shadow Bugs oozed out of the Primids bodies.
Pit was shocked while Mario was amazed. "Woah…"
"Holy Ravioli…" Mario said while taking off his hat. "How did he do that?"
Pit and Mario were snapped out of their amazement when they realized that while all the Primids were gone in one single blow, the Spaak's still remained. And one shot a thunderbolt heading straight for Giyu. Mario jumped in front of the Demon Slayer and deflected the projectile back at the Spaak, KO'ing it. Pit finished the job by firing a light arrow from the Palutena Bow.
Giyu gave a small nod to the Plumber as a thank you. Mario nodded back before saying "Let's-a Go! That ship isn't going to catch itself."
Giyu looked at Pit in confusion. "We'll explain on the way. Come on!" Pit flew into the air while Mario and Giyu parkoured on some floating rocks to chase the Halberd. While they were adventuring, Pit explained to Giyu about the Halberd and how it was deploying Primids and other enemies everywhere, all while defeating more enemies while catching it. They eventually caught up to it, but unfortunately, they ran out of land to run on and the Halberd escaped.
"No! It's getting away!" Pit exclaimed.
"Can't you fly after it?" Mario asked.
"As much as I hate to admit it, I can't fly without the help of Lady Palutena." Pit saddened.
"That's-a really sad." Mario said.
Pit flailed his arms in a cartoony fashion. "YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMIND ME!"
"The only place left to go...is down." Giyu pointed downwards. It turns out, they were standing on the edge of a mountain and there was a path leading down it right next to them. "We might still be able to catch it, we just have to take lower ground."
Before they could continue, they heard the sound of another ship. They turned to see a much smaller ship fly after the Halberd.
"What was…?" Pit asked. Giyu said nothing as he slid down the mountain path. "Hey! Wait up!" Pit slid down after him.
"Here we go." Mario said as he slid down after them.
Another Chapter down!
What? You didn't seriously think that the main character's on the Mugen Train were the ONLY Demon Slayer characters to be in this story, did you?
Consider leaving a review and tell me what you think so far! If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them.
