Chapter 14: Green Tea and Mochi

Merry Christmas everybody. My Christmas gift to you all.

Izuku was whistling while putting dishes away. Inko noticed this.

"You seem happier than usual," Inko said, "Did something happen?"

"Oh nothing really, I just have my first date with Ochako this weekend and," Izuku said before covering his mouth, realizing what he just told his mom.

"No I mean-" Izuku began.

"You shouldn't have opened your mouth kiddo," Nana said with a chuckle.

"There's no way I'm getting out of this is there?" Izuku asked.

"Nope," Nana said, "Cue my daughter's reaction in 3... 2... 1."

Izuku tried to run, but he was stopped by Nana and pushed into Inko who pulled him into a big bear hug shaking him around.

"MY BABY BOY HAS A DATE! I'M SO HAPPY!"

"Mom! Can't breath!" Izuku said.

Nana laughed at this.

"And I thought I gave strong hugs after receiving One For All," Nana said, "I can't wait for her reaction when you two confess to each other!"

"Grandma I love you, but you're not helping."

Later on Friday Night, Izuku was waiting at the mall for Ochako to arrive. He was playing candy crush on his phone.

"Deku!" said a familiar voice.

Izuku turned around to see his crush arriving in a pink blouse with blue jeans, and some makeup on her face. Izuku blushed because of how cute she looked.

"You look beautiful," he said to which she giggled.

"Well you look adorable." She told him.

"Thanks," Izuku said, "It took my mom 10 minutes to do my hair."

Ochako giggled even more. She then took his hand and they started walking. They talked about school and heroes.

"So you write notes on people's quirks, for analysis?" Ochako asked.

"Yep," Izuku said, "Its so I know how to evade those type of attacks while doing herowork. I even wrote some for my own quirk Multiplier."

The two of them did a lot of fun things together such as check out clothing stores and eat at a restaurant. They also went to a photo booth to get their pictures taken. Izuku also noticed someone walking around. He decided to ignore it because it wasn't a big issue.

"Deku, can I ask you something?" Ochako asked, "Were you... bullied a lot when you were young?"

Izuku nodded.

"A lot of people made fun of me for wanting to be a hero despite not having a quirk, and nobody believed in me," Izuku answered sadly, "Even my own father... no, especially my own father didn't have any faith. But that all changed when I met All Might. He saw potential in me and trained me to be a hero without a quirk. And then to my surprise my quirk came."

Ochako hugged him.

"Those people are worse than villains are, trying to shatter someone's dream," Ochako said.

As they were walking around, Izuku noticed the same guy following them.

"Hello there," he said.

Izuku turned around, activating Full Cowling in case he tried anything.

"I've been looking for you all day," the stranger said, "Now that I got you right where I want you... I'd like to sell you some Brooklyn hero merchandise!"

He had some merchandise made based off Izuku's hero costume when he went to Brooklyn. To say Izuku was surprised would be an understatement.

"I'm sorry, what?" Izuku said.

"You never heard of the brooklyn hero?" the stranger asked, "He's big news! He stopped a villain way beyond his league, at 11 years old! Without a quirk no less!"

"Wait, you mean the hero Deku?" Ochako asked.

"Yes," he said, "So can I give you anything?"

"I'll take that hoodie!" she said.

Izuku was walking Ochako back to her house.

"Well, I wasn't expecting that," Izuku said.

"Yeah, turns out that guy just wanted to sell us some merchandise and nothing more haha," Ochako said, "Though you shouldn't be surprised by all this. You did revolutionize the way of the world."

"Hehe, thanks Ochako," Izuku said.

"But in any case, I really enjoyed our date," Ochako said.

"Me too," Izuku said.

The two of them stared into each other's eyes for a minute. Their hands began to slip into each other's. Ochako moved closer to Izuku while slowly closing her eyes. Izuku did the same. Their lips were about to make contact.

"AHA!" shouted a voice.

The two turned around looking at a man who had a pitchfork.

"Keep away from my precious little flower!" he snapped.

Izuku moved away and Ochako blushed.

"You almost stepped on it," he said as he watered it.

Izuku and Ochako looked at each other, and then at the man with confusion. Someone bonked the man on the head.

"Maruki, what have I told you about scaring guests?" she asked him, "Oh hi there Ochako."

"What, he nearly stepped on my flower bed," Maruki said.

"Oh, you must be the boy named Deku! My daughter would NEVER stop talking about you ever since that podcast she watched about you when you were in America!"

She then shook Izuku's hand.

"I'm Kurumi, Ochako's mother, and this is my husband, Maruki."

"Wait, did I just hear that the great Deku was here? My ears must be deceiving me!" Maruki said.

"Looks like I got fans," Izuku said with a chuckle, "My name is actually Izuku Midoriya, but yes, I am the 'great Deku'. Hehe."

"So what brings you by?" Ochako asked.

"Oh, some teachers talked to us about moving the students into the dorms," Kurumi said, "Of course we were quick to agree with it. Its for the best that you're somewhere when you feel protected, especially with somebody as great as this boy."

"I'm not that great," Izuku said scratching his head.

"Modest too," Maruki said.

Izuku scratched his head sheepishly.

"You know, every time Karumi asked Ochako if there were any boys in her school she liked, she wouldn't even go red. But as soon as she mentioned 'this Deku kid' she turn into a tomato!" Maruki said.

"DAD!" Ochako said, embarrassed.

"Why don't you ladies go inside for a minute," Maruki said, "I'd like a minute alone with the boy."

Ochako was worried, but Kurumi brought her inside. The door closed and MAruki looked at Izuku with a serious look. Izuku gulped as he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"First off, I'd like to thank you," he said.

Izuku was confused.

"You were the first boy to ever believe in my daughter telling her she could be a hero," Maruki continued, "A lot of kids her age use to bully her and make fun of her. But then you came around and helped her believe in herself, and then saved her from that giant robot. If you're planning to date her, I'd like you to promise me something."

"Of course sir," Izuku said.

"Promise you'll give her the life we couldn't," Maruki said, "She's dedicated her life to helping me and my wife have an easier life, but as a dad I'd be more happier if she reached her own dreams as well."

Izuku nodded. Soon enough it was time for him to return home. Ochako walked Izuku out and smiled.

"Thanks again for tonight," Ochako said, "I really enjoyed it. We should do it again sometime."

"I'd like that,' Izuku said.

Ochako smiled and walked back inside. However, she quickly turned around and gave Izuku a kiss on the lips. Izuku was surprised at this action. Ochako broke the kiss and smiled.

"Sorry, I couldn't resist," she said, "Good night Izuku."

She went back inside. Izuku stood there for a few seconds. OFA activated and he jumped into the air, very high.

"YEEHAW!" he said.
