Chapter 2: Revelation
It was quiet as we approached the entrance to the castle. I was in a mix of emotions- fear, sadness, but curiosity most of all. I knew I looked different from even the humans of the Earth Celestia would know, so this was going to be interesting.
Lighting his horn, Hard Head opened the large doors to reveal a massive foyer, white and red in color. I could not help but to stare at it, amazed. Hard Head would lead me up a flight of steps across from the foyer, where I could hear chatter. He turned to me, and gently rapped at the door.
Within moments, a blacked haired pony with a white coat came out. She looked up at me in utter confusion. "What is this?", she asked pointedly. Hard Head whispered in her ear for several seconds. She then nodded once he was done and went back inside, gently shutting the door behind her.
After about a minute, the pony returned, poking her head out. "Bring him in", she said. I could not up but be a little afraid.
I was about to meet Celestia.
To be honest, everyone phrases the Throne Rooms beauty, and I am pleased to say it cannot be understated. The glass-stained windows, the immaculate floors. It was amazing. My attention however turned once I heard a throat being cleared.
I looked over to see Princess Celestia trotting down from her throne, her eyes looking me over. Surprisingly, she looked...happy? Confused? I am not sure. Her wings were spread out, as if to show her power. I kept my eyes on her. Even if I knew not what would come next, being disrespectful could be my last act.
She stopped right in front of me. An interesting note here. Though I was a few feet taller than Hard Head, Celestia and me were eye level. I gulped. As if noticing my fear, she broke out a warm smile, and turned to Hard Head.
"Is he from Pandestria?", she asked. Hard Head shook his head. "I don't think so. He doesn't look like any human from there." Celestia nodded, "What is your name?", she asked me. "D-david", I responded.
"Well David, welcome to Equestria. My name is Princess Celestia. How did you arrive?"
I explained that I was walking when suddenly, I fell through a portal. I was falling and Hard Head had levitated me safely to the ground. Celestia looked me over again and frowned. "Hard Head, why is he wearing handcuffs? Did he threaten you in any way?"
"He did not, Princess. He is new here and I did not- "
Celestia gave him a pointed look that sent the guard shrinking back. "I am disappointed. This human is probably terrified right now. To demean him like that. I am sorry, I know you meant well, but that was not necessary. Off to your post."
Hard Head nodded and left silently. Celestia lit her horn, removing the restraints from both my arms and legs. "David... are you hungry?"
I was stunned. This Princess had not known me but for 5 minutes, and she was offering me food. It was very overwhelming, to the point where I gave a small nod as my response.
She broke out into a grin and led me out of the throne room. "You will find that we have great cooks here. So, if you do not mind, tell me about yourself."
"Well,", I began as we turned right, heading down a long hallway, "I'm 24. I worked as a cashier on Earth. Celestia, Am I stuck here?"
Celestia stopped shortly and looked down. "I'm afraid so. You have already gotten used to our gravity, and the journey back", she frowned, "Would kill you on impact."
I took a second to process this. I was stuck in a land that did not know me full of magical pastel ponies. A million thoughts ran through my head. But one appeared as the most vital to ask.
"Someday", I said quietly, "If its possible. I want to be able to contact my family. To let them know I'm okay."
Celestia looked me directly in the eye. "I promise David. We will try", she said, surprising me with a hug. I am a man of affection when I know someone well, and not so much when I do not. But I felt compelled to hug back.
After the huggle, Celestia smiled. "Let's see what the cooks made today!", she laughed, running down the hallway like a bat out of Hell. I laughed and ran after her, though one question remained.
Just why had a portal pulled me into Equestria?
I was honestly amused by the décor of the dining room. 6 large blue pillows sat around the room, with two placed prominently by the fireplace, which was lit with a cozy fire that morning. Celestia smirked.
"Ahh...Luna and her lover must have lit it last night." This made me think. In the My Little Pony knowledge I had, Luna did not have a significant other. But who knows? I had not thought Celestia would be as nice to me as she was either.
Celestia sat down on the pillow, her flank resting as her front hooves sat in front of her at the edge of the pillow. I simply sat down cross legged as a few kitchen ponies came in with a banquet. And I mean a banquet. Biscuits and gravy, eggs..you name it. Oddly, I even saw ham, which brought up a question.
"I thought ponies can't eat meat?", I commented when the ponies left, a large coffee table set in front of us with the spread.
Celestia shook her head. "It's a matter of taste. Some like to. Some do not. Plus. Its nice fuel for when I have to use magic." I could not help but wonder how a certain yellow Pegasus thought about this.
The next several minutes were silent as me and Celestia ate. It goes without saying that Celestia had some fantastic cooks. A voice clearing soon interrupted us as we turned to see an irritated Alicorn sister.
"Sister? Who is this?", Luna asked, lighting her horn. I put my hands up as Celestia got up and whispered in her ear. Lunas irritated look slowly faded as her look turned to one of sympathy.
"I'm so sorry David", Luna said. "I Promise you will be safe in Equestria. Should I inform the staff of David?", she asked. Celestia face hoofed. "I forgot to! Could you please?"
Luna nodded and went to leave, but not before poking her head back at us right before she left. "At least your gluttony is not for cake this time", she teased in jest, dodging an oncoming pillow.
Half an hour later, we were full. Celestia patted her belly as I leaned back, very satisfied. The kitchen ponies came back in to collect the things as Celestia had a notebook and quill fetched for her. Celestia could only smile at me when I inquired what she was going to write.
It was time to meet the Mane 6.
