Elsa knew she had to go. She had no idea how long she was in their old room, but at some point Anna was going to be needed or it was going to be noticed that she was missing. She would not let Anna get in any trouble because of her. Not if she could prevent it, but that meant she had to move. For one her body was still sore and felt so heavy. That didn't matter though. Elsa knew she could power through that without a problem, the true struggle was removing herself from the comfort and warmth she had here curled up next to her sister. She almost couldn't fathom the thought of removing herself from this. She was happy and so content just laying here by her little sister. She had missed this as simple this was. She knew others would not understand this. Though they had never been separated form everyone and everything to keep everyone safe from oneself. Most people have never been so isolated and alone to know how something as simple as being next to one's favorite person can be like a soothing balm on one's soul. She was starting to wonder if she had a soul anymore or if she was just the curse. Laying here now though she knows she has one. Someone without a soul could make someone like Anna so happy and content to just be along with them. The sister's just laid there in silence just enjoying being there together.

"Sunshine… I have to get going. I can't stay here."

She immediately felt fingers grip down on her cloths as Anna clawed her way closer and was now half laying on top of her sister.

"Nooooo. I don't want you to go. Just stay here with me."

Elsa wanted to cry at the pitiful sound of her sister's heart breaking. It was more than apparent that Anna wanted Elsa to stay with her and in their old room, but this was not something Elsa could do. She knew she could not cave on this one for Anna's own safety even when it felt like it was tearing her own heart out.

"Sunshine you know I can't stay. If I could I really would. You know I would love nothing more than to be here with you, but we both know it is not safe for me to stay here with you no matter how much we both want this. I will keep you safe. I made that promise long ago and I plan to keep it. Let me keep my promise to you please."

Anna just whimpered and buried her face into her sisters neck hiding in the soft waves of her sister's hair. If she could just hid herself and cling on to Elsa then she couldn't, wouldn't leave her. The idea of Elsa going back to her room… Anna could feel her throat closing up and it almost hurt to breath. No it couldn't happen, so Anna just latched on to Elsa almost like she was trying to absorb herself into her sister.

Elsa could feel a slight trembling start and it took her a moment to realize that it was Anna. Oh Anna…

Elsa tried to pull away from her sister thinking that she was making her cold. She just wanted to separate just enough to grab a blanket to wrap Anna up in it, but what she did not anticipate was Anna's almost violent response to Elsa pulling away.

"NO! NO DON'T LEAVE ME!"

Anna lunged forward and was clawing to grab hold of Elsa. To say Elsa was shocked by this reaction was an understatement. She cradled Anna as close to herself as she could and slid up the bed with her so that she could lean against the headboard as she rocked her sister trying to sooth her. She had never seen Anna react like this. She felt so torn and lost.

"Sunshine I was just trying to reach for the blanket. You were shivering. I didn't realize I was making you cold. I was just trying to fix it for you. I'm sorry love. I didn't mean to upset you so much."

She then heard Anna's soft voice croak back a reply.

"I wasn't cold Elsie."

Elsa was more than confused now. If she wasn't cold before then why was she shaking? She heard a soft huff escape Anna then.

"I was scared you were going to leave me. I don't want you to go. I can't let you go. You belong here with me in our room. I… I just…"

It's all then clicked it Elsa's mind. Just like how Elsa was terrified to lose Anna again, Anna was terrified to lose her sister too. Elsa almost forgot how it felt to be cared for so much like this by another person. It made her feel warm inside, like she did matter. She dropped her head down to rest on top of Anna's.

"Sunshine I'm not leaving you ever again. You know how to get to me and I know how to get to you. We might not be able to be with each other all of the time right now, but I am not leaving alone alone ever again. I mean you are stubborn enough to never let that happen anyways. You'd finds a way to smash my door open." Elsa smiled as she heard a little giggle," You are stuck with me. It's you and me Anna. We just have to lay low for a while until we figure out a way for me to be allowed out of my room again okay? I'll find a way to reason with Mother and Father. I just need a little time to work on that okay?"

A small head nod was the only indication that Anna heard her at all. Nothing else changed except a flex in her fingers reestablishing their grip at the mention of Elsa dealing with their parents. The two of them laid there for a bit before Elsa started to shift again. Anna in turned tried to lean more of her body weight against her as if that would keep Elsa from leaving. Elsa froze when she heard a soft voice.

"I don't want you anywhere near our parents. They hurt you. I don't want you near them when you are alone. I just don't like it. Let me do it. Maybe they will listen to me…"

"NO! If they are going to get mad let it be at me. Never you. I do not want you anywhere near this okay? If you approach them it will only make things worse. They can't do anything to make my life any worse at this point. They have nothing that can hurt me anymore. If you get caught in the cross fire of this… I… I would never be able to forgive myself, so you will SAY and do NOTHING. Let me handle this."

Elsa gently brushed back Anna's hair trying to communicate how serious she was while ale also making sure Anna knew she was anything but mad at her. Anna leaned into Elsa's touch almost like she was trying to absorb the pure love and softness that she associated with Elsa's touch. She was almost trying to take in as much as she could like the last few years had starved her of this physical touch. A brief thought flitted across Elsa's mind, Who gave Anna affection or demonstrations of love while she was locked behind my door? Was she touched starved of affection like she was? The though almost killed Elsa. The thought of Anna not knowing how precious and so very loved she was, it was just about the most abhorrent idea to ever cross her mind.

"Just promise me you will be careful. I don't want you to get hurt at all either. Maybe have Gerda or someone there to ensure that things don't get out of hand if you won't allow me to ensure that, okay?"

Elsa figured she could agree to that without an issue. If it made Anna feel better, then she would do it. With that agreement, Elsa slowly slipped off of Anna's bed where they were both nestled up and headed to the access to the secret passage in Anna's room.

"Elsie wait!"

Elsa then felt the heavy thud of Anna throwing herself at her back and latching on for a hug. She turned around in her arms and returned the hug. She smiled as she hear the muffled, "I love you sis" from Anna. She pressed a kiss to the top of her head before pulling back. She went to brush's her hair back with her fingers to get the stray hairs out of her face, but she winced as her fingers accidentally touched her sunburnt forehead. Ever attentive Anna noticed her sister wince and quickly pulled Elsa's head down in a firm grip and inspected her head. She felt so stupid for not noticing earlier that her sister had a sunburn. Elsa almost laughed at Anna yanking her around as she inspected her. Her face was skewed up in the cutest way. Anna then huffed and grumbled under her breath before she darted off and started digging through her draws (making a HUGE mess in the processes) to Elsa's amusement. A moment later Anna darted back over to her and forced into her hand a jar.

"It's a balm that Gerda has made me that really helps when I get sunburnt. I don't know how you managed to get one locked in your room… I mean I know you are pale, well I'm pale too, but you're like way paler than I am, WHICH ISN'T A BAD THIING! But like still the sun just makes you a victim way easier. Anyways just rub that on the sunburn and you'll be fine."

Anna flashed a smile at Elsa, and unable to hold it back anymore Elsa let out a giggle. Only Anna could switch moods like that at a drop of a dime.

"Okay, I promise I'll use it and I didn't get the sunburn in my room." Elsa flashed Anna a guilty smile.

"I may have snuck out and was laying on the roof for a bit."

Anna stared at her sister with awe.

"YOU SNUCK OUT TO THE ROOF?!?"

"Ummm… yes?"

Anna threw her head back and laughed.

"I KNEW IT! You my dear sister are a secret badass!"

Elsa just sook her head at Anna with a small smile on her face. Where was Anna when she was starting to panic over a stupid sunburn. The way Anna put it was so much better than what her brain twisted it into.

"When you put it that way my little freak out seems silly now."

"Wait that's what.."

Elsa sighed, "Yes Sunshine, not so badass now hum?"

Anna shrugged, "Still badass, you just think too much."

Elsa stared at her and blinked. That was not something she ever considered before, but it rang true. Every time that she had issues was when her mind ran away with thoughts. Anna might be on to something.

"Sometimes Sunshine I think you are too smart."

Anna just grinned and shrugged. Elsa gave Anna one last hug before she slipped into the passage, and before she closed it behind her she gave Anna one last smile before she promised to see her soon.

Anna now stood alone once more in her room staring at the wall where Elsa just disappeared through. Her mood diminished slightly now that Elsa was gone, but she had a new mission. While she promised Elsa she would not directly confront their parents, she just knew she had to do something. She started to formulate a plan. Don't worry Elsa we got this, you and me sis.
