Ch.10: Men Like Spas Too

The next morning, I awoke with a big smile on my face. I know it may be weird to say that considering the conversation I had with Twilight and company, but Rarity had failed to tell me one thing about one of the cookies on the plate.

It was a "Special" cookie. Needless to say, I had slept well that night.

By the time I had made my way downstairs, Sunset and Twilight had congregated into the kitchen. The smell of ham and eggs wafted and drifted to my nose. I breathed it in, sighing happily. Sunset turned to me.

"Did you enjoy yourself?" Sunset asked with a smirk.

I nodded. "Yup. It was a fun night. Especially watching TV."

"Any hallucinations?" Twilight asked.

"Well," I blushed. "Yeah. But I would rather keep them to myself."

Sunset just chuckled, plopping two pieces of wheat bread into the toaster as I sat down.

"I remember when I had one a few days ago," Twilight laughed. "I dreamed that Spike had grown into a huge dragon and captured me, only for Starlight to save me."

Starlight laughed, entering the room, only to get a bemused look on her face. "Weren't you supposed to meet Rarity at the Boutique, David?"

I nodded. "At Noon," I said, looking at my watch. It was 9:06.

At 11:45, I was right outside the Boutique. To my surprise, I heard what I thought was rock music. Amused, I knocked.

After a few moments, Rarity answered, a saddle bag over her left shoulder. "Good morning, David," she greeted. "I assume you are surprised at the music?"

I nodded. "Didn't take you for liking that kind of music."

She blushed. "I do engage in it from time to time," she said closing the door behind her.

"Wait, the T.V?" I asked

Rarity smiled. "I keep it on whenever the Boutique is empty, so Opal doesn't go crazy."

"How is she?"

"She's well," Rarity said as we walked down the street, turning left. "She was a naughty kitty yesterday, however. Scootaloo came over to get a dress I made for her, and Opal hissed at her."

"Does she usually do that? I asked.

"Well... sometimes. If she does not know someone anyway. But she's known Scootaloo for years."

"If I may," I suggested. "Opal may need a change of diet. Pets can get irritable if they are not getting the food they need."

Rarity smiled softly. "I'll look into it."

I smiled as we entered the Spa. It was a small building that is bigger than you expect. The lobby was filled with a lot of ponies I did not know, but i did see one wearing slippers, content as she rifled through a magazine- Rainbow Dash.

I snickered a bit. Rainbow looked up and blushed. "Um, this a dream."

I raised an eyebrow. "If you think I'm gonna make fun of you, I'm not."

"You're not?"

"No" I smiled. "Tomboys can like spas too."

Rainbow smiled. "Hey! Me and you should go flying sometime."

"I... don't have wings," I said confused.

"No egghead! Ride on my back and we'll take off," she said.

"I'll give it some thought," I said uncertain as a pink earth pony came out. "Rainbow Dash, it is time for your hooficure," she said in a Prench accent.

Rainbow stood up, stretching. "Later!" she beamed, following the pony.

Rarity had walked up to the receptionist while I was talking with Rainbow. "A massage and steam for two. And a hooficure as well," she smiled.

"22 bits", the receptionist, a blue pony with a white mane said. Rarity smiled and handed him the money.

Relaxation would never be so comfortable.

A blue earth pony smiled as I entered, the pink one directing Rarity to a massage table. "Don't worry Mister," she said as a large table was wheeled in. "Just lay on your stomach and relax." I obliged, smiling, before yelping, my lower back had never liked me laying like I was.

The blue pony grew alarmed and walked over. "Are you alright?"

I nodded. "Damm lower back. It's always bothering me."

I did not have to say no more. Within seconds, I felt gentle hooves pressing into my lower back and easing the tension. Across from me, Rarity gave a small smile.

"You know David, me and Twilight and Applejack come as a group here monthly. You are more than welcome to join us next time."

With this massage I was getting, heck yes!

After the glorious massage, I saw the blue one, Lotus, frown as she looked at my fingernails. "Do you bite your nails? She frowned.

I nodded in shame. "Force of habit."

"Not to worry," she reassured. "They will be nice and good when I'm done with them."

True to her word, my fingernails sparkled. They had been cleaned and filed, even massaged. I looked at them in awe as Rainbow laughed, trotting by the chair I was sitting on.

"This is ammunition. I'll have to tell Sunset," She grinned. I raised an eyebrow. "Should I tell Applejack you're teasing me?"

Rainbow grumbled, telling me I was number one as she left.

I ignored it, as the last thing was upon me and Rarity.

The Steam.

"Are you alright?" Rarity called into the bathroom where I was changing.

"I am Rarity. Whoo, it's been fun so far"

She smiled.

I soon walked out, wearing a large towel around me. I had a big smile on my face. I followed Rarity into the steam room, where a few other ponies were, including Chaos- and to my surprise, Cherilee was next to him.

"Hi David. Did Rarity drag you here?" Chaos joked.

I laughed as Rarity scoffed, sitting down. "Nah., she asked me to come with her. I like relaxing stuff like this, so why not?"

Chaos smiled as I sat, taking a deep breath. He said him and Cherilee had been a couple for a while, and even lived together.

"Hey, can you do me a favor Chaos?"

"Sure, what's up?"

"Can you tell the cashier from a few weeks ago that there's no hard feelings?"

Chaos frowned. "But that wasn't right what she said to you."

"I know" I agreed. "But she never saw something like me. She could have thought I was a villain."

Chaos nodded. "I'll tell her."

For the next 15 minutes, we all enjoyed the company. Eventually, we all came out.

I smiled as I saw Fluttershy, and Discord come in when we went to leave. Oddly, Discord was holding a kazoo.

"Hi guys," I said. Fluttershy smiled as me and Discord shook hand and claw. "Hey David" Fluttershy said softly.

"A-at some point, would you like to come over for tea?'

I smiled. "I'd be happy to Fluttershy. How about on Saturday?"

Fluttershy nodded. "I'll see you-DISCORD!" she exclaimed as he had turned Aloe's (She was the pink pony that services Rarity) hair black.

"You are no fun," Discord protested, yelping as Fluttershy dragged him to the counter.

Alas, it would be a minute before that teatime. But I can say...

Fluttershy and Discord are two of my best friends. And it is because of that tea.

A/N: A nice slice of life chapter to write. A tea with Fluttershy will involve Discord, so in your reviews, I would like to hear what kinda hijinks you think he will get into. See you all next time!
