Ch.11: A Chaotic Tea
It was on August 11th, over a months later, that I finally found myself heading to Fluttershy's for a tea. So, one may say, "David, how is that possible?"
Well, to put it simply, me and Fluttershy got busy. I was working quite a lot at the time, and Fluttershy had the attention of Discord at times. I sometimes wonder if Discord mind controlled her, but he remains coy when I ask.
Anyways, the sky on that day was a cloudy one. This was quite strange, as it was supposed to be a cloudless day. I just shrugged my shoulders as I crossed over the bridge leading to her cottage.
It was simply beautiful. Nestled by tree branches and leaves, I imagined living in such a place. Lots of shade to protect from the elements. I loved it!
Smiling, I knocked on the door. After about a minute, the door was answered by a small bunny with a smile on his face.
"Hi little guy," I greeted. The bunny smiled and gestured me in and grew even happier when I pulled a carrot out of my pocket for him.
He hopped away, nibbling on it as I stepped into the living room. It was nice and cozy, just like Fluttershy.
"Fluttershy?" I called. I then heard the door shut of a fridge. "Oh, hi David! Come on into the kitchen."
I obliged, walking in. It would be the best, and craziest tea that could ever exist.
Fluttershy smiled softly at me as I entered the kitchen. "Was it a good walk?"
I nodded. "Quite good. I gave the little bunny a carrot. Is that okay?"
She nodded. "Angel's been really good, so that's no trouble," she said gesturing me to the kitchen table, where a chair no doubt for Discord sat across from Fluttershy's.
"Go on. Sit," Fluttershy urged. I was hesitant. It was a huge chair, plus, what would Discord think?
Fluttershy's eyes narrowed. "Sit"
I quickly sat in the chair, impressed at her command. Fluttershy, no pun intended, wasn't always shy.
She smiled, pouring us tea. "Twilight said you like herbal, so that's what I brewed up."
I nodded, taking a sip. Holy heck! This was AMAZING tea.
"Fluttershy, how do you do it?"
"What do you mean?" the Pegasus asked confused.
"Create this tea. It's amazing."
Fluttershy smiled. "I let the tea bags filter into the water overnight," she beamed. "T-that's okay, right?"
I smiled, seeing that there were also crescents on the table in a wicker bowl, as well as butter and jam to go with.
"That's more than okay, Fluttershy."
She smiled, taking a sip of her own tea.
"So, David, have you asked Sunset out yet?"
I shook my head no, buttering one of the flakey treats. "I'm waiting for the right time. Say, how did you and Discord get together?"
Fluttershy smiled softly. "After the Legion was defeated, we went on a picnic date one day. I realized how much I loved him and kissed him. I can never see myself with anyone else"
I gave a happy sigh. My eyes then turned to ones of confusion as I saw doughnuts falling from the sky. "Fluttershy? Look out the window"
She did so and shot her head back to me. "DISCORDDDDDDD!" she exclaimed, causing me to cover my ears.
We heard a laugh as the Draquonacris came in, wearing sunglasses. He then raised an eyebrow, seeing me in his chair.
I went to stand, only for him to wave me off.
"Don't worry on it, Daniel" he smiled. Snapping his claw, he conjured up another chair and sat next to Fluttershy.
"David" I corrected. Fluttershy turned to him, raising an unamused eyebrow.
"What?" Discord defended. "Its National Doughnut Day, and I thought I'd help Ponyville celebrate."
Fluttershy sighed. "Alright. I'll allow it just this once."
For my part, I was amused. This Pegasus used to be afraid of her own shadow, and now she had no trouble dressing down an all-powerful Draquonacris.
It was amazing, really.
As we all enjoyed our tea, letting the air flow around us, Fluttershy excused herself to use the bathroom. This intimidated the ever living jeepers out of me.
I was alone with Discord, the creature who could do a million things to me, all at once if he wished.
However, to my surprise, Discord simply gave a warm smile.
"So, David, how have you enjoyed this crazy town so far?"
I could not help but laugh. "It's been fun. I mean, I miss my family, but other than that..."
Discord nodded. "I lost my parents long ago. They perished in a snowstorm, and I never found them. This was long ago, before Moony got banished."
"What even made you turn bad?" I asked
Discord sighed, and appeared...saddened? "I used to have a massive crush on Celestia. She rejected me, and I suppose I could not manage the rejection well."
"But" he said kindly, "I'm not that way anymore. I mean, I have fun, but I don't hurt anypony. Fluttershy has been a major help in that."
He then looked around nervously, before reaching into his pocket, and pulling out a Citrine gemmed engagement ring.
"If I asked her to marry me, do you think she would say yes?"
I smiled widely. "That mare loves you Discord. To me, you are the couple meant to go all the way. You absolutely should propose when you two are alone."
Discord smiled, only to yelp as Angel reached up and bit him on the claw. "Why you little!" the draquonacris shrieked, pulling Angel off him, and glaring at him like Tom would do to Jerry.
"I have to admit, I am wanting some rabbit-Clinggggg!"
Discord was not able to finish his sentence, as Angel hit him in the head with a frying pan.
Discord roared, and as Fluttershy came out of the bathroom, she noticed Discord chasing Angel, and Angel protectively holding a metal spatula.
She looked on in exasperation.
As I headed back to the Castle not 15 minutes later, and with Discord sitting in the corner wearing a dunce hat, I bowed as Princess Celestia flew down towards me.
"No need to bow, David" she smiled, landing.
I stood up. "Anything I can help you with, Princess?"
She nodded, handing me a silver and golden envelope.
"This is your invite to the Galloping Gala on November 21st. I expect to see you and Sunset there" she winked, before heading off to Fluttershy's cottage.
As I walked home, blushing, I did not see a certain Rainbow Pegasus watching me from above.
It would soon be my birthday, and that day...
I would Learn to Fly.
