Ch.2: Slices
For our part, me and Sunset were nervous about going. It was not me seeing my family again, or even Sunset meeting them for the first time. I was fully aware that to Earth, I had disappeared for a year. Would we be hounded?
The day before we left, it was clear Cozy was excited about the trip. She had her bag packed a few days prior, and her room was spotless. Sunset had decided to go spend girl time with Rarity on the day. The air was nice and warm as me and Cozy sat in the kitchen, eating some apple slices with peanut butter. It was mid-day.
"What are your parents like?" Cozy asked in curiosity. I held a hand up as I finished a slice.
"Well," I said fondly, "My Dad tends to work during the summer and not during the winter. Our house is heated by a wood stove, and he needs to keep up on it. My Mom is a librarian."
"What about your sister Alexis?" she asked.
"Combine Pinkie Pie with Twilight" I chuckled. She laughed. "That's a handful and a half"
Her face then frowned. "Do your parents know you are alive?"
I nodded, grabbing another apple slice. "Princess Celestia had a talk with them on Tuesday." It was a Friday at present.
"Did they take to me and Sunset well?"
I nodded with a huge smile. "They cannot wait for tomorrow."
I then turned serious. "Cozy, I feel the need to tell you something important. It is possible that some people we encounter might not be nice to you"
Cozy looked down. "Why?"
I frowned. "I know its stupid, but there are dumb people that think being a certain color of skin makes them better than everyone"
"Well, that's dumb!" Cozy exclaimed, shooting her face up. "You should judge someone on their actions and character."
I nodded. "Oh, I agree. Hon, if anyone says anything derogatory to you, tell me or Sunset, okay?"
"Don't you mean Mom, Dad?"
There it was. The words me and Sunset had been waiting for. I swept Cozy into a warm hug. "Me and Sunset have been waiting to hear that Cozy. Tell you what- When we go to Earth, I have an exciting place we are going to go to"
"What is it?" Cozy inquired. I smiled.
"My old stomping grounds. But before we do that...
Its time for you and Sunset to meet my family."
