Ch.8: Finale
Me and Sunset did not think anything of the day November 5th. We did however find it peculiar that Princess Celestia had invited us to the Castle unexpectedly that morning. Celestia smiled on her throne. Weirdly, Luna was awake and standing with her.
"Over the time I have known you two" she beamed, "I have seen love. Friendship. Honor. All of the great characteristics that not only make great beings but great leaders."
"Six years ago," Luna added. "Twilight turned down an offer to lead our nation. She could not break from her love of her friends and Ponyville. However, new blood must come onto the throne for its future. And- "
"We are asking you two to lead Equestria."
If a pin could have dropped, it would have. Sunset and I had our mouths agape. But it made me cry inside. Everything had led to this moment.
"We accept" We said in unison.
In many ways, the work of a writer is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy the position of crafting our stories.
Between helping to rule over the year and presiding over Twilight and Starlight's wedding in April, it has been busy. But I hold faith in the future. There is no greater time in my life than now. And it all began with a smile from Princess Celestia.
