Wow, rewrote this one wholesale two or three different times. Oh well, it was a fun story I've had in mind for a while. Enjoy!
All for One stared down his son and the little girl he was holding. The girl that Izuku had just said was his daughter. Who had round eyes like Inko, and red eyes and white hair like him. There was just one problem though…
I don't remember making that.
Three weeks earlier
All for One blasted Tartarus' walls wide open and leaped out. Using Air Walk and Air Blast he was able to fly away like a human rocket. He was free! (A bunch of other inmates were too but who cared about them?)
As he flew All for One considered his next move. He wanted to return home but he'd had himself declared dead and avoided his family for the last six years. He'd barely even watched them until the Sports Festival! How would he fix that?
Maybe he could make up a story explaining that he'd been mistaken for dead, alongside some convenient amnesia? Held hostage by villains? Or perhaps he should come clean and move them both into a nice vault safe house?
Whatever he decided, his first order of business was restoring his body. After his injuries, regeneration quirks had saved his life, but failed to fully restore him. That left him only two options. One was a unique quirk that could rewind someone to a previous state he'd overheard about from some guards, but he didn't know where to find it.
The other was the quirk Overhaul, which could break down and rebuild objects. It belonged to the young leader of the Shie Hissekai, who just so happened to be interred…in…Tartarus.
Using Air Blast, All for One forced himself into a stop. He sighed, turned around and made his way back to prison.
After fighting the guards (again) he successfully stole Overhaul, and even got a description of Rewind quirk's owner, a six-year-old girl with white hair and a horn on her forehead. Maybe he could recruit her after ripping the quirk out of her body!
Since All for One was a gracious evil overlord, he rewarded Overhaul with a quirk to replace the one he'd lost. After all, the poor man had lost his empire, his freedom, and his hands. Giving him a quirk was the least All for One could do.
So, he gave him one that improved finger dexterity!
After that, he retreated into the woods to practice his new quirk. Fortunately, Overhaul's quirk ghost was very easy to get information out of.
With that and All for One's natural genius, he easily mastered the quirk and certainly didn't temporarily blow his own arm off by mistake. And if he did, he certainly didn't do it multiple times!
After a few weeks of practice (not that he needed it) he finally restored his true face. He was so happy to have it back he admired its reflection in a pond for several minutes. (No he wasn't a narcissist, why?)
After that he threatened persuaded a tailor to give him a nice suit for free and stole some diamonds to give to Inko, hoping it would make her rethink ripping his guts out. (He also acquired several quirks to protect himself should she decide otherwise) He was ready to reveal to his family that he was indeed alive!
The reunion went well. For twenty seconds.
All for One walked through the front door using his spare key. Izuku poked his head into the hal to see who it was. His jaw dropped and he let out a stunned "Dad?!" All for One walked into the living room and hugged his son. Izuku offered no resistance, being too shocked to move.
All for One released his son and smiled at him. It was good to see him again. And he even had the Rewind girl on the couch watching cartoons! It was perfect.
Until All for One opened his mouth.
"Hello Izuku," he said. "It has been a long time…"
Izuku's look of shock turned into a hard glare. "All for One!"
Were his voice and mannerisms that obvious? Oh well, best run with it.
"Indeed," said All for One, holding out his arms. "It is I, All for One, your father!"
Izuku's eyes widened, and his jaw lowered.
"That…that's not true! That's impossible!"
"Search your feelings, you know it to be true." All for One said. "Do you remember when your father disappeared?"
"Seven…seven years ago now," said Izuku as his eyes were filled with realization. Yes. "You left on a business trip, then we lost contact. A week later a letter came saying you were dead. That was around the same time as..."
"All Might's fight with me," said All for One. "I hope you understand, I didn't want to leave, but I couldn't exactly come back looking like-" He gestured to his face.
"Like an evil potato?" said Izuku, glaring.
Rude? Then again, Izuku was a teenager. All for One could forgive that.
"Anyway, I'm sure you'll understand given enough time and encouragement," he said.
Izuku gave what All for One assumed was intended to be his worst death glare. Unfortunately for him, All for One had endured Yoichi's glares and next to his, Izuku's was downright cute.
Then All for One remembered the third person in the room. "I am wondering though, that girl…"
Izuku froze.
"Overhaul mentioned her. He said she had a remarkable, yet difficult quirk. I wonder…" All for One stepped toward her with his palm open. In a moment, she was in Izuku's arms, who held her away like she was his accursed All Might plushie when it needed washing.
"You can't take her quirk away!" said Izuku.
All for One quirked an eyebrow. "Why not?" He looked away from Izuku toward the girl, wondering which cliché Izuku would try. Appealing to morality (dumb) or trying to physically stop him (dumber).
"Because…" Izuku said, "She's your daughter!"
All for One faltered. Wait what?
Wait what?!
Izuku was going to try appealing to whatever goodness or fatherly love All for One had in his dark heart, or just cut and run. Instead he'd blurted out easily the stupidest lie he possibly could! Seriously, there was no way All for One would fall for it!
Sure enough, All for One narrowed his eyes and was obviously about to-
"Really? Then why don't I remember having one of those?"
HE'S FALLING FOR IT?!
With that, there was only one option: Double, triple, and quadruple down!
You got this. Sure you normally can't lie to save your life, but Eri's depending on you! If you fail her quirk will be stolen! All you've got to do is look the Symbol of Evil, who lied about his identity to you for nine straight years, in the face and convince him one of the most blatant lies you've ever told is actually true.
I'm screwed aren't I?
"She…she was born after you left!" said Izuku. Definitely nervous, but no obvious tells of deception. And this was Izuku…
As for the girl, while the story was absurd he could see a resemblance. She had white hair and red eyes like him while her eyes were round like Inko. Could she actually be theirs?
"Oh? And how old is she?" All for One asked.
"Six!"
Darn, that actually made sense. But would his next answer? "Why is her quirk nothing like mine or Inko's?"
"Her quirk was a random mutation that was unlike anything on either side of the family!"
Convenient but then again, she'd be second generation (quirks were more random then) and All for One didn't exactly have a normal quirk himself. Also, Izuku was clearly not lying. But then…
"Why don't I remember making a daughter?"
"I don't know, you're the one who got his face smashed in not me!"
Oh right. Getting one's head smashed probably was bad for memory. In that case, this was yet another thing to hate Yagi for!
In the meantime, he guessed it would be rude to steal his daughter's quirk. Giving a family member a quirk without asking was fine, (who asked permission to give birthday presents?) but taking seemed a tad rude. Therefore…
Before Izuku could react, he took the girl from his grasp and gave his daughter a big hug. "Welcome to the family!"
Eri liked Deku's dad! He was so nice! He'd hugged her, given her toys, told her how to kill someone with a knife (she wished she'd known to do that when she was with Overhaul) and even moved them into his nice home!
It was just too bad they weren't allowed to leave.
Izuku was unsure if it was moral indignation, typical teenage emotions, or both, but he was sure of one thing.
He hated his dad right now.
Then again, said dad had knocked him out, thrown him into an underground bunker made to look like a house and, when Izuku came to, had been teaching a six-year-old how to murder people, so his feeling were probably justified.
To add insult to injury, once All for One stepped out, Eri went on about what a nice father he had. Izuku struggled not to cringe.
Instead he leaned over and, quiet enough that no bugs would overhear, whispered to Eri know that his father was actually evil (even if he could be nice to family members), but that she shouldn't tell him that. Or that she wasn't his daughter. She'd been skeptical but ultimately agreed. To be extra safe however, Izuku pinky swore her to secrecy.
With that done, he had to figure out how to escape. When he first woke up, he'd found a condescending note saying they were deep underground and threatening him with a time-out if he broke his bones trying to escape, but could he trust it?
If the letter's claim was true Izuku could theoretically get Eri to fix his arm, but it would be risky at her level of skill. Also, the resulting hole in the wall would be difficult to explain. At least All for One hadn't caught Mom yet.
At that very moment, All for One warped in with Mom.
Jerk.
Mom for her part looked more confused than scared.
"Here we are Inko!" All for One said. "A nice house and our children waiting! Didn't I tell you I had a surprise?"
"Yes Hisashi, you did," said Mom, repeatedly curling her hand in. "You've had a lot of those today…"
"And for that I can apologize, but now that is behind us. Now, we can be a family again! While there will be roadblocks, I'm sure we can work out our differences! Even if right now I wouldn't put it past you to try and rip my internal organs out with your quirk…you're trying to do it right now aren't you?"
Mom stopped moving her hand and hid it behind her back. "Nooo…" she said looking away.
All for One sighed. "Well I'll let you get settled in. This place has all the amenities you'll need. Food, water, temperature control, there's even a gym and indoor yard you can spend time in!"
"What about human interaction?" said Mom.
"You have each other, and more importantly, you have me!" said All for One.
"…Right," said Mom glaring.
All for One nervously stepped away. "…I'll let you get accustomed to this place. Be good children!"
"You've got this place bugged, don't you?" said Izuku.
"Of course!" He warped away.
Inko came and hugged Izuku. "Honey? Why is Eri here?" she whispered. "And why did your father talk about a daughter I never had?"
"I had her over when he showed up. I kind of panicked and lied that she was his."
"And he believed it?"
"I know, I'm surprised too."
Mom let him go and hugged Eri. Izuku could barely hear, but he was pretty sure she was welcoming Eri into the family. Izuku smiled at the sight. Then he turned his mind toward escape.
It would be difficult. And even if he did get away his troubles would be far over. (He definitely wasn't looking forward to his next meeting with Mr. Aizawa after promising nothing would happen while he watched Eri for the day.)
"Izuku? Are you ok dear?"
"Yeah Mom, just thinking."
"Oh good."
"Deku's really smart!" Eri said. "When he was fighting Overhaul, he figured out he could use my quirk to get his full power even when both our quirks were dangerous!"
"Really? How'd he do that?" said Mom with the usual tone used by parents when their children wanted to tell them things.
Izuku froze, realizing what Eri was about to say. Uh oh.
"By breaking his everything so my quirk would be too busy healing his bones to erase him out of existence! It was so cool!"
"Really?" said Mom. Izuku really didn't like that tone.
"Izuku honey?" said Mom her tone honey mixed with poison. "Would you mind elaborating for me? I'd love to hear what kind of example you've been setting for your little sister."
Maybe Mr. Aizawa wouldn't be so bad after all…
Hope you enjoyed! Reviews make me smile!
