Hello, everyone!

It's Sentai Red and I'm... writing a story! Yeah! This one has always been in my mind, for so FREAKING long! I've had ideas to use Kamen Rider or Super Sentai as crossover ideas with Pokémon for so long! This has been in been in the drafts for years and now, I'm finally having the courage to start it up! Like, man, you have no idea how much I've daydreamt about this kind of stuff! Now, while it won't be as ambitious as another Kamen Rider and Pokémon story I have in mind, it's certainly going to put me in the right direction!

I plan on updating this weekly. However, with me just starting my new job, I'll try to do the best I can! I'm even doing the title cards that you would see in modern toku.

Pokémon: Project 'Kamen Rider'

Epic 1: Reunited?! What's a Kamen Rider?

Serena smiles, staring at the beach in front of her.

She didn't mean to walk to the beach, but it just sort of happened. It doesn't help that she lives close to the beach nowadays and hardly ever spends time gazing at it. Right now, everyone is asleep at the beach house she's renting from Palermo, all her Pokémon. They're all cuddled up, sleeping in peace, but while she smiles at the beach, she doesn't feel the peace it brings to them like it should to her.

It's been over 8 months since Ash's disappearance. During a League conference, there was a terrorist attack and well… Ash disappeared. All his Pokémon, even Pikachu, were unharmed and were still at the League. No one knew what happened, aside from a destroyed cap that Ash always wore. She remembers the headline so well too:

Pokémon Trainer Extraordinaire Ash Ketchum Disappears?!

Many of the Champions went crazy looking for him, from Lance to Leon, they all went out there way to find the young teen that he befriended. It tore her up too, as she was watching with her mom in Vaniville Town. She remembers going to Kanto, with Shauna and Miette, Tierno and Trevor already there to meet up with them. They all went to pay their respects to Delia, who was just a sobbing mess. She couldn't help but break down and cry too.

Alain went ahead to start looking.

Then even Greninja appeared. He was livid. He felt Ash's life signature fade and was angry at everyone for not being able to help him. Then even Greninja broke down. It went back with Squishy to Kalos, maybe in hopes to find Ash there. She doesn't know.

She just remembers the entire event was crazy, she didn't realize how much Ash really meant a lot to other people. Even Team Rocket – the bumbling idiots – came by to pay their respects! Meowth and Pikachu just held a truce and gave each other a hug.

Right now, she's in Hoenn, again. She just finished up her time doing Contests. She entered the Grand Festival and barely won it. She didn't feel as though she earnt it, but according to the judges she did. Her opponent was quite peeved and attempted to sabotage her win by stealing the prize, but he was quickly apprehended. Many people felt disgusted by the action, including Serena, who decided that she won't partake in Contests anytime soon.

Palermo, congratulating Serena and giving Serena some words of encouragement, gave her access to her beach house in Lilycove City, where she's currently at right now. However, what unsettled Serena was her mentors' warnings, "Don't go out alone, Serena… Apparently, there have been incidents of people being kidnapped or worse. For your safety, don't go out alone and please – please – have either your Pokémon with you or someone to guard you." Serena didn't really get what has been going on, but she obliged.

But… how can anyone be in danger at a secluded beach house? She smiles, seeing a small Krabby walking around. It looks up at her, frothing bubbles with a happy look, and walks away. She waves it goodbye. Yeah, how bad can it really be?

The only thing she wishes is that Ash was still here. Ash probably would have loved coming back to Hoenn and stay at a place like this, training and relaxing. He'd be all for it! But wherever he is, she hopes he's safe. She doesn't quite believe he's dead, giving time to mull it over, but she wishes he would come home at some point.

As she ponders it over, she shivers, her spine tingling. It's not cold, but why does it feel cold?

SKREEEE

Her heart jumps as she frantically looks around. Was that a Pokémon?! That didn't sound natural at all! She hears it again, covering her ears, it was loud!

SKREEEE

She feels something drop on her shoulder and she stares, her heart stopping, her eyes widening. She takes a step back and sees something hovering over her. It has wings! It has what looks to be a bird's head! What makes it scary is that it as a human shaped body too! It's red beady eyes, staring at her, ready to strike. Her heart is beating out from her chest, but she can't move!

It drools over her, wanting to strike! It wants to feed on her.

She gulps, slowly stepping back, hoping it wouldn't do anything. She steps on a small piece of a branch, and it cracks under her weight, making her freeze. It roars loudly, alerting even her Pokémon and it dives right after her! She quickly rolls to her side, adrenaline pumping in her veins!

She narrowly dodges the dive, but it just hovers in front of her!

"Brai-brai!" She hears her Braixen call out, running out the door with Pancham, Slyveon, and her new catches from Hoenn.

"Guys! Please, help! I don't know what that thing is, but it's not a Pokémon!" she cries out.

It looks over at her Pokémon and begins flapping its wings, ascending high into the sky. They watch as it begins to dive back down with incredible speed. "Pancham, use Dark Pulse! Braixen use Flamethrower! Just attack it please!" she yells.

Pancham growls and sends out a dark double helix beam at the monster. It dodges the move, but Braixen jumps in front of it and blasts it with a Flamethrower. It hovers for a split second and uses its wings to block the flames, singing its wings in the process. The beast snarls in pain but continues to fight. It flies over quickly and punches Braixen hard, making her fall to the sand.

"Braixen!" Serena dashes to her starter, who gets up slowly, rubbing its cheek.

"Veeeon!" Sylveon uses Swift and the attack hits the beast, making it recoil from the sparks hitting it in the torso. Nincada, one of Serena's new Pokémon, uses X-Scissor to deliver a blow, but the beast turns around and kicks it hard, knocking the poor bug away from it.

Her last new Pokémon, a Shaymin, turns into its Aerial Forme, and flies after the beast. The beast uses its singed wings to slash at the grass hedgehog, but Shaymin angrily dodges the attacks. It throws an Energy Ball at the beast, hitting it in the back. It falls to the ground, but recovers and quickly flies back up.

"Be careful, Shaymin!" Serena calls out, but Shaymin continues its assault.

Shaymin then uses Headbutt, but the beast grabs it and throws it to the sand below, but Shaymin also recovers.

It flies up, using its horns to attack, while the flying bird beast uses its talons.

Serena stares on in worry, her heart beating a thousand miles an hour, 'What is that thing?' She hears a small buzz, but ignores it, thinking it's just NIncada, who holds on to her arm. But the buzz is getting louder, and she frowns, looking around, "What is that noise?!"

Braixen turns and points, "Braixen brai!"

The loud noise gets even louder, alerting the bird thing and Shaymin. Shaymin, using this opportunity, uses Headbutt and causes the distracted beast to fall to the ground, dazed. It picks itself up, but it begins to tremble at the sight coming towards it. Serena stares, seeing red lights glimmering towards them. Pancham and the others guard Serena, waiting to attack.

As it gets closer, the figure leaps in the air, doing a flip. The figure lands on the sand perfectly, getting up and staring at her. She notices it looks like the figure is human, or so she hopes. It has a helmet that looks close to being similar in design to that of a Scyther or more accurately, a green Scizor. However, the optics are a glimmering red, the lenses slightly bulged out. The figure has a red scarf around its neck and is wearing what appears to be an armored motorcycle gear.

She gulps, is it friendly? It doesn't look it at all.

"Get out of here," the figure states, a deep male voice, almost guttural.

Her Pokémon glare at the figure, Shaymin ready to attack the figure too, but it runs after the bird beast, who was beginning to fly off. With incredible force, it jumps high in the air and grabs the beast, "Where do you think you're going? Get back down here now!"

Getting on top of the bird monster, he grabs its neck, pulling its head upwards, making the monster screech in pain. She winces as she sees it trying to claw at the armored guy, but to no avail. Losing control, the bird and the guy fall into the ocean. She rushes over there, wondering what the Hell is going on!

The man gets up, standing upright in the ocean, but in an offensive stance as he watches the bird man get up slowly. He then rushes through the harsh waves, punching the bird man, making it fall into the water again. Not giving the thing any chance to recover, he jumps on top of it, landing with his feet on its chest, breaking its ribs.

SKKREEEE-AAHHH

It screeches in agony, trying to push the guy away from it. The guy then grabs it by the neck, trying to drown the thing, but it somehow has enough energy left to kick him on his side, making him stumble back. Serena watches in horror at the brutality of the fight. She tears up, not wanting to see the fight, but she can't help but watch morbidly at the sight.

The man grabs it again, as the waves hit the bird, hoisting it over his shoulder and throws it hard enough to land on the ground, its face deep in the sand. The man jumps again in the air, landing in front of it. He crouches slightly, as if ready to propel himself up in the air again. As the beast stumbles back up, he charges at it.

He jumps higher in the air, the beast scrambling to get away from him, but he begins diving at the demon with his foot, "Rider… Kick!" He kicks it hard, square in the back, as an orange glow slowly encompasses the beast.

Landing on his knees, Serena notices the same foot he used was letting off some smoke, and the beast screams in agony, exploding! It explodes so harshly, the sonic boom causes her and her Pokémon to fall to the ground, a cloud of sand flying through them all. The man doesn't look all too affected.

He gets up slowly from his kneeling, as he looks over to the woman in front of him, walking towards her. Her Pokémon dazed from the sonic boom, slowly getting up themselves, wanting to get back to protecting their trainer, who seems absolutely stunned. She stammers, "W-what… No! N-No! Get away from me!" She screams out, trying to crawl backwards.

He raises his fist and moves it towards her.

Her Pokémon charging their moves, but he was too quick.

He gently helps her up, his eerily leather feeling gloves holding her hands. She stares at him, as he just… keeps looking at her. "Wha… huh?" He pulls her away gently and the guy just chuckles at her, making her wonder what's going on.

"It's been a while, Serena," the man softly states, making her eyes widen.

His armored suit disappears in a green flash, shocking her. His black, spiky hair, the tan skin, the brown eyes, that… toothy grin of his! He just waves with two fingers. "A… Ash?!" Her Pokémon that knew Ash stare in absolute shock, whereas her recent catches stare in wonder at who this person was.

Ash chuckles at her surprise, "What? It's like you're staring at a ghost or something," he jokes darkly. He looks over to her Pokémon and smiles, "Wow, a Shaymin and a Nincada? Imagine all the showcases with them!" He turns to her with a grin, as if him just appearing was meant to be alright

SLAP

She smacks him hard, but he doesn't react. His smile disappearing, giving him a cold stare directed towards her. She shakes, tears leaking out from her eyes, her lips quivering, "Where the Hell have you been?! Why did you just disappear! Why did you leave! You… you… jerk!" She punches his chest repeatedly, but he feels no pain from her attacks.

He just continues to stare at her, his cold star disappearing as he just gives her a small smile, wrapping his arms around her, "Let it out." She wails into his chest, sobbing hard, as she grips his arms tightly. He just lets her cry, rubbing the back of her head soothingly. "I know."

Despite the protests of her Pokémon, he led her to the beach house, where he has her sit down. He forces her to sit on the sofa, him sitting away from her on a wooden chair. Her Pokémon glare at him angrily for what he's doing, but he shrugs it off. He looks at her, "So, I know, I have a lot to explain," he callously states.

"Yes. Yes, you do." She begins to calm down, her voice small, but with so much anger behind it. He doesn't seem all that affected.

"Right," he nods, "You know the story, or the parts the media went on and on about, the League gets attacked, I try to fight the terrorists, all that crap? Well, it's true, but there's more to it. Those terrorists? Well, they're some cult that kidnaps people, people they turn into monsters for. These same monsters attacked the Champions Conference and kidnapped me. What they wanted me for was to help them take over the world." He sighs, annoyed with how easily he was caught. He let his Pokémon fight, but they were all powerless against the freaks.

Serena stares at him, her anger quickly dissipating, but turning to shock, "Did they experiment on you too?!"

He gives her a bark of a laugh, making her flinch, "Well, obviously! Otherwise, I wouldn't be this weird guy with a motorbike, attacking them!" He frowns, staring at his hands, "I was meant to be this 'Monarch' for them. I was meant to take over the world and make it theirs to forever rule. I was able to escape, getting some of the victims to help me. However, the escape plan failed, but I was able to get out. It was then I realized I had this ability to shift into the armored being that you saw in the beach."

He punches the air, compression of air hitting the table, sending it into the air, before it falls harshly to the ground. Luckily it didn't break, but Ash didn't care about that. He continues on, "I've become what they wanted, but I was able to escape before they can fully finish the experimenting. They had this codename for me, based off this old Johto language, called a 'Kamen' Rider. It sounds dumb, but I kept it."

She frowns, "A… Kamen Rider?" She's never heard of that word before, but it sure does sound ancient. Not even the Kimono Girls she met use ancient words or speak in that language, but they have attempted to learn it when she went and visited them to learn their dances.

"Mm. Yes." He looks at his waist, where this… belt buckle pops out of thin air! It forms a huge buckle that looks like it's some alien device! She grimaces at the sight of it, it looks so creepy! Ash just chuckles, "I call this a Rider Driver. This thing gives me the ability to transform to that thing, but only using that ancient word they bestowed me with. So, I've decided to fight these things. My main goal is to stop those who kidnapped me and stop them from hurting more people."

He stares at her and smiles, "Did you grow out your hair? It looks really nice like that." It's true. Her hair, once down to her neck, has lengthened down to her shoulders, a noticeable bounce and shine in her hair that only amplifies her natural beauty. She blushes, rubbing her hair, but shakes her head – no! You're supposed to be mad at him!

"Thanks," she coldly states, turning away from him, but a blush still escapes.

He gets up, "Well, I must head off, then, I still have unfinished business to attend to," he walks off to the door, but stops. He turns to Serena and smiles, "I'll try to see you again soon, Serena." She frowns, staring at him incredulously; is he really leaving?! He just appears out of nowhere and now he's leaving?! She's not having this!

She stops him, grabbing his wrist, "You're not walking out on me again, Ash!"

He blinks but loses his shocked expression as he returns to a more neutral expression, "Serena, please, I have to go. I don't want to, but I need to find and stop more of these guys." She sniffs, giving him a longing look, one that makes him turn away, gritting his teeth.

"Then, let me go with you!" His eyes widen at the fact as he just turns his entire body to her. He notices her staring at him with a determined look, one that he hasn't seen from her in such a long time. Her Pokémon just as shocked to see her want to go with him. He ignores the sinking feeling in his stomach.

"I… Serena, no, you can't come," he denies her, "This is dangerous! Too dangerous for you and I don't want to see you hu-"

"Well you leaving is hurting me!" She retorts, cutting him off. Tears form once again in her eyes, "I've waited for you, you know? Everyone thought you died! Your mom, Pikachu, Greninja even stopped by from Kalos and went ballistic! Hell, even Team Rocket themselves mourned for you! I… I didn't want to believe you died, but here you are! You're alive and you want me to be okay with the fact you're leaving me? Ash, no!"

She inches closer to him, holding one of his hands with both of hers, "I loved you… I still do… When you disappeared, I never went stopped loving you," tears falling from her eyes, "Just… I know it's going to be dangerous, but… I want to be with you. I want to help you in any way shape or form! I don't want to be some damsel, I don't want to just wait for you, I'm tired of that! Please, just let me go with you…"

He breathes hard, gently pulling away from her, her hurt expression even more apparent, "I…" he closes his eyes, gritting his teeth, "I…"

"Fine."

He slumps his arms, "You can come with me." He sighs, acquiescing to her wish. She immediately hugs him, making him gulp. He pats her back gently. "I guess… we can leave in the morning…"

She nods, her head in his chest. He sighs again but gives her a small smile. He just towers over her now. Back in the day, he was usually a little bit shorter than her, and during some time, he was able to match her height. Now? He's at least two heads taller than her. "Who'd have thought I'd be taller than you?" he jokes.

"… Shush. I like it."

He chuckles, but pulls away gently, his hands on her shoulders, "I want you to be careful with me though, Serena," he warns, ever serious, "This won't be a fun ride, like I would love it to be. I don't want you to get hurt, I mean it. You… You really do mean a lot to me, Serena. Just promise me you'll stay safe."

She cups his cheek, "I can't promise you that," he frowns wanting to argue, but she continues, "I want to help you, fight by your side, Ash. I don't want to be a damsel that needs saving. Teach me to fight, give me a way to help in anyway possible." He can't believe what she's even saying! She wants to fight them?! He saw how terrified she was! She was petrified! "I don't want to be helpless, so please… give me that chance."

"… Okay, I'll do my best. But please promise me that until then, you let me deal the hits until you're fully capable to fight. Give me that at least."

She nods, approvingly.

He then blinks, remembering something, "Give me a second, Serena," he walks back to the beach, the spot where he fought the bird man. Serena stares, tilting her head. Ash grabs something from the sand and smiles, "Ah-hah! Almost forgot about you," he rushes back to her and shows her what looks to be a gelatinous marble.

She grimaces, "What is that?"

He chuckles, "It's the source of their power. It looks wonky and smells wonky, but" he pops it in his mouth, making her wretch at the sight and noise of it bursting in his mouth, "It tastes like apricots!" He grins, feeling a surge of power as his driver pulsates at him eating the marble. "It's weird, but I found out I can use these to augment my strength or create weapons from my body or as external weapons. I usually try to get it before I kill them as it's usually lodged in their chest, but I just couldn't get it from this one. But good thing I got it now! It's pretty cool, one of the few good things about being an experiment."

She sighs at how he finds this interesting, "Just… just brush your teeth and use mouth wash. I don't want to think about it right now," she sniffs him and her face scrunches up, "Yeah… take a shower, too. A long one." He blinks at her, was she just insulting him right now? They were having such a great hug session and now she wants him to clean up? He didn't smell that bad… did he?

"And we're getting you new clothes."

"Oh, come on!"

As the two bicker in the house, with the Pokémon staring and laughing at the couple, four people talk amongst themselves in an undisclosed location. One of them having an armored look to them, like Ash, but his mask looks more akin to that of a bat. Instead of having red, bulged out optic lenses, his are yellow, slanted and pointed. He has valves on his armor, completely black, with gray undertones. Yellow linings around the chest plate and around his wrist plates.

He towers over the white robe wearing, cultist leaders as they're prostrating at the masked man, "This is the third one he's killed. He's clearly getting better at this. Do you fools have any idea how much money I've spent on this? How many times I've had to hide you idiots from the law?! If things don't change, I'm taking over and killed you three."

The one prostrating in the middle pleads, "We're sorry, Our Lord. We have one that may prove a challenge this time around! This one has been augmented with more chemicals to give it the edge over him!"

The one on the right nods, still prostrating, "My Liege, please… Let us prove to you we still have what it takes to rule. By Your own Grace, we pray to you for our victory!"

The one on the left begs, "My King, you have to give us this chance! We will not fail you!"

He growls, but sits on a makeshift throne, putting one leg over the other, "Show me what you've got."

The three Leaders stand up, happy their Lord is giving them another chance. Praise his Mercy! They open a fortified door, smoke seeping through, as some cult members struggle to push a raving monster to their Lord. The beast has extra appendages, 6 to be exact, coming from his back, as he his head is that of a spider. The savage opens all 6 of its slit like eyes, wanting to kill everything in front of it.

"Hmm… this is acceptable. Let him go."

And we have the big bad!

We don't know what his name is, but I can assure you, he's going to stick around for a while. I have plans for everyone, even Serena. Now, Pokémon is still the main focus, but unfortunately, there will be battles in which it's going to be Ash vs... whatever the hell these things are!

I was even thinking of writing a dance ED like in Kamen Rider Saber and most of modern Sentai, in the same vein as 'Minna Atsumare! Kyoryuger! However, I suck with making lyrics, so nah. Plus, I can't think of how to choreograph a dance ED in text, haha! If I could, I would! However, this is fine!

One thing I will tease is... while this has a Showa Rider way of storytelling, there's still an overall arc ala Neo-Heisei Rider. I do plan on adding power ups, so look out for those! I may even do something like OOOs or Build with power ups, who knows? Well, I do! You don't, so just look forward to more!

Don't forget to leave a review! Hope you enjoyed it!
