White
In the Ishida Manor, Masaki was in her room when she felt powerful Reiatsus. She sensed the Reiatsu of a Hollow and one other person. Masaki rushed out of her room with the intent to do something.
"Where are you going Masaki?" Ryuken asked.
Masaki stopped and turned to face Ryuken.
"Maybe I don't really need to ask," Ryuken said, "I'm just to say don't do it."
"Ryu," Masaki said.
"How many times do I need to tell you?" Ryuken asked, "We Quincies should only come out after the Shinigami have died. Even with that, we should let Gemischt like Kanae go. Masaki, you should be aware of your position. You understand, don't you? You should care more about yourself. We Echt Quincies shouldn't waste our blood so easily."
"But Ryu…" Masaki said with concern.
Meanwhile in Kisuke's shop, the group was in Kisuke's underground training ground. They were training with each other with their Zanpakutos when they suddenly felt powerful Reiatsus and they were all surprised.
"What is that?" Xingke asked.
The group felt the presence of two beings. Lelouch was wide eyed as he felt something familiar of one of the Reiatsus. The next thing, Lelouch rushed out of the underground training ground and he surprised the others in the group.
"Lelouch, stop," Euphie said, "Where are you going?"
"Sorry I have to go," Lelouch said, "I need to confirm something. I'll explain things to you all when I get back."
"Lelouch, hold on!" Kallen said.
Lelouch was not listening and moved quickly and as the others in the group rushed out of the shop.
"The Reiatsus that we're sensing," Todoh said, "One of them must be someone that he recognized."
"I don't like this," Shirley said with worry, "Lulu shouldn't go on his own like this."
"I'll go help him," Kallen declared as she rushed to go after Lelouch.
"Kallen, hold up!" Gino called out.
Shirley looked on went after Lelouch and Kallen.
"Hey Shirley!" Gino said.
"We might as well all go," Clovis said.
"Hold it!" Yoruichi said as she got in front of the others, "There's no sense in all of you going."
"But Yoruichi," Naoto said.
"Calm down and think about this more carefully," Yoruichi said.
Kisuke and Tessai came out of the shop with Kajiro and looked on.
"So what do you say Kisuke?" Kajiro asked, "Surely you have some idea in what is going on?"
"And what makes you think that I know what is going on?" Kisuke asked.
"It's obvious by the look on your face," Kajiro said, "I'm pretty sure you know what's going on or at least have some idea."
Kisuke simply glanced at Kajiro in response. Meanwhile Isshin was being pushed back by the black Hollow that was attacking with blades that it had for forearms.
"I don't understand," Isshin said in his head, "its physical appearance is still somehow that of a Hollow but it feels like I'm fighting a Shinigami. This is a hard struggle."
Isshin was pushed back again by the black Hollow.
"Captain Shiba?!" A male voice called out.
Isshin was surprised and he turned his head and saw a Shinigami rushing towards him.
"What are you doing here sir?" The Shinigami asked, "Karakura Town is under the jurisdiction of the 13th Division!"
Isshin was shocked as he realized what just happened.
"Damn, I surpassed the jurisdiction boundary," Isshin said in his head.
Isshin quickly looked back to the Hollow and was just barely able to block the Hollow's bladed attack but the Hollow went past Isshin and targeted the other Shinigami.
"Shit," Isshin said as he turned to the Shinigami panicked, "Run!"
The black Hollow formed and fired a Cero at the unsuspecting Shinigami. Back in the Ishida Manor, Ryuken and Masaki felt the power and Reiatsu. Masaki was determined and rushed out to leave.
"Wait Masaki!" Ryuken called out.
Masaki stopped and turned to Ryuken.
"Ryu," Masaki spoke, "you know the fact that before acting, you think of Aunt, the Quincy, the future, and many other things is something that I really like about you. But I'm not like you. To me, caring about myself means to do everything in my power every day. If today I don't do what I can because of customs and someone dies as a result of it, there's no way I can forgive myself tomorrow. I couldn't live with myself knowing that I did nothing."
Masaki went on her way and left the manor. Ryuken sighed and contacted Kanae.
"Kanae, it's time to go out," Ryuken contacted, "Prepare the Reishi Armor."
Back outside, the Shinigami that had called out to Isshin was obliterated by the Hollow's Cero.
"Was that a Cero?" Isshin asked, "What the hell is this? That's not even how a Menos fight…"
Isshin rushed over to attack the Hollow that blocked the Isshin's sword with its bladed arms.
"There's no way that a monster like you could exist without the Soul Society knowing about it," Isshin said, "which means that someone is sheltering you. So who it? Who's pulling the strings and keeping you under wraps?"
The Hollow just growled in response.
"No answer," Isshin said, "I expected it but does not matter and frankly I don't really care. Whether or not you talk is irrelevant because the only thing that matters is me slashing you. I'm going to take you down!" Isshin held his Zanpakuto in front him, "Burn, Engetsu!"
Isshin activated his Zanpakuto Engetsu and stream of flame-like spiritual energy swirled around the 10th Division Captain as he rushed towards the black Hollow but then Isshin was suddenly attacked from behind. The one who attacked him from behind was Aizen as he used his sword to strike from behind wearing a cloak. Elsewhere Lelouch was running and he got to the place where he spotted the conflict between a Hollow and a Shinigami and Lelouch was able to see the Shinigami and recognized him.
"I knew it," Lelouch said, "It is him… Isshin."
Lelouch was wide eyed as he noticed that his former subordinate just got attacked from behind. Lelouch clenched his teeth and rushed over. Back in the air, Aizen swung the blood off his blade.
"A cloak that isolates Reiatsu almost completely," Aizen said with a smile, "and by kneading some Kido into it, even your body can blend in the air rendering you almost invisible, such parting gifts you left Kisuke Urahara."
Isshin fell on a roof of a building and suffered from the sneak attack.
"This slash wasn't from the Hollow," Isshin said in his head, "it was definitely a Zanpakuto. A Shinigami… there's a traitor among us… hiding in the background," Isshin yelled at the sky in the direction where he was attacked from behind, "Who are you?! Where are you hiding?! Show yourself traitor!"
Aizen just looked on and with him were his four lieutenants who were also wearing the same Reiatsu-concealing cloaks.
"Whoops, it seems that he realized that it wasn't the Hollow that hit him," Gin said.
"Indeed he has," Aizen said and then he turned around, "I'm leaving."
"Are you sure about that Captain Aizen?" Gin asked.
"It's fine," Aizen said, "his Bankai is quite a burden on his body. He won't be able to use it with that wound on his body. If a captain-class Shinigami is able to defeat it with just Shikai, it just means that sample was a failure in the first place."
"It's not a sample," Tosen spoke, "Please sir, please call it White. He's completely different from all types of Hollows we created so far. It's the first one we created based on the soul of a Shinigami."
"Ah you're right Kaname," Aizen replied, "so sorry. However calling it White even though it's completely clad in black armor just because of its inner whiteness is something that I find quite ironic."
Shin and Kusakabe were shocked with the interaction with Tosen and Aizen.
"Well this is a surprise," Kusakabe commented.
"Indeed," Shin said with a nod.
The black Hollow that was called White descended and continued the attack on Isshin. Isshin was pushed back and White rushed towards Isshin but suddenly, the black Hollow was suddenly blocked and pushed back hard. Isshin was surprised that someone came to his aid and it was someone blocked the White's blade arms with a sword and pushed the hollow back causing it to crash to the side. It was Lelouch who blocked White's attack. Isshin was shocked to see someone that he had not seen for three decades.
"Captain Kenjima," Isshin said.
Lelouch turned his head to Isshin and smiled.
"It's good to see again Isshin," Lelouch said with a smile.
The five cloaked men in the air were shocked to see Lelouch.
"You've got to be kidding me," Kusakabe said.
"Oh my," Gin said, "it's Captain Kenjima."
"Well what do you know," Shin said as he was amused, "the current 10th Division Captain and now the previous 10th Division Captain."
"This doesn't make sense," Tosen said, "Why is he here? He was sucked in that anomaly along with the others? Are the rest of them here as well? This could be a problem."
"Captain Aizen, requesting permission to kill that bastard," Kusakabe said.
"Denied," Aizen said.
Kusakabe and Tosen were surprised as they turned to their leader.
"But sir, why?" Kusakabe asked.
"Lelouch Kenjima's sudden appearance is surprising, sure," Aizen said, "it is unexpected… but a pleasant one. I want to see how this plays out," Aizen was getting excited, "show me Lelouch Kenjima, show me what you can bring. Don't you dare bore me now."
Lelouch was with Isshin and then he suddenly turned up to the sky and glared at where the cloaked men were located.
"Hey, doesn't it seem that he's looking right at us?" Shin asked.
"Yes, he sees us," Aizen said amused, "There's no doubt. He actually sees us."
"But we're wearing these cloaks so that we don't get seen," Kusakabe said.
"Doesn't seem to matter to Captain Kenjima and his keen sense," Gin said amused, "he really is an interesting guy."
"I would say that he's more of a nuisance than interesting," Tosen said with a frown.
Lelouch continued looked up in the sky.
"Captain Kenjima?" Isshin asked.
"Oh sorry Isshin," Lelouch said looking at Isshin, "I got distracted a bit."
"That's not like you at all," Isshin replied amused and then had a serious expression looking at the side, "I would like to continue banter with you but…"
"Yes I know," Lelouch said with a serious expression.
Isshin and Lelouch faced White as the Hollow charged towards the two men. They both dodged the charging attack and went to opposite directions of each other and avoided the Hollow.
"Rise, Teimashu!" Lelouch said as he activated his Zanpakuto.
"Don't underestimate us!" Isshin said, "You piece of shit!"
Isshin took his blood from his back wound on his hand and spat it on his Engetsu creating a large amount of an energy attack and struck White severing one of its arms. Lelouch followed up as he charged toward White.
"Kinken," Lelouch said as the blade of his Teimashu turned gold, "Senjinmon!"
Lelouch planted his Teimashu next to White creating a golden field and golden transparent blades sprung up. White got trapped in one of the golden transparent blades and got hit with a shock. The golden transparent blade that trapped White shattered and the black clad Hollow staggered and was struggling to move and was severely wounded. Elsewhere Masaki arrived and was witnessing the fight that was happening and she saw one of the severed blade arms of White that was planted on the ground. She looked on at the battle and was determined to do what she can. Back at the battle, White was struggling and suddenly charged towards Isshin and Lelouch and it surprised the men as a crash occurred and they both were able to move out of the way.
"Damn, you're pretty good even though you're wounded and have only one arm," Isshin commented.
"You're some sort of creation," Lelouch said, "You're someone's science project," Lelouch had his thoughts, "There are five people watching in the air. They're wearing the cloaks that Kisuke made. Bastards must have been able to steal them from the 12th Division Barracks and the 10th Division Barracks after I and the others got sucked in," Lelouch clenched his teeth as he felt anger towards one of the men he knew was up there in the air, "You're up there watching in glee… Sosuke." Lelouch turned to White and raised his Teimashu, "Aoken," Lelouch said as his blade turned blue, "Zetsumajin!"
Lelouch swung his Zanpakuto and released his large royal blue energy attack towards White. The black Hollow responded by swinging its remaining bladed arm and cut away the Zetsumajin much to Lelouch and Isshin's shock.
"The hell?" Lelouch said, "This thing still has some strength?"
White turned to Isshin and charged full speed to the 10th Division Captain while forming a Cero. Lelouch rushed to try to protect Isshin and Isshin was shocked and tried to move. Suddenly arrows were shot and stopped White at its tracks. The Hollow growled and glared at the source. Isshin and Lelouch were shocked and they looked and saw Masaki who had her bow formed aiming at White.
"Who is that girl?" Isshin asked.
"Wait, is she…?" Lelouch spoke.
The five cloaked men were surprised at the sudden appearance of the girl with bow that was formed of Reishi.
"A Quincy," Aizen said.
"This was not part of our plan," Tosen said, "I'll eliminate her now."
"Wait," Aizen said as placed his hand on Tosen shoulder, "Let's see what happens."
Aizen was actually more excited at another unexpected turn of events.
"Huh, so that's a Quincy?" Shin asked.
"I guess so," Kusakabe said.
White turned its attention to Masaki and charged towards to her. Masaki reacted by shooting multiple Reishi arrows but the black Hollows was able to dodge all the arrows that Masaki was shooting.
"No wait!" Isshin spoke.
Masaki looked seeing the Hollow was dodging all her arrows.
"How fast," Masaki said in her head, "I can't aim at all. In that case…"
Masaki put out her left arm baiting the Hollow. Lelouch and Isshin couldn't believe what the girl was doing.
"Hey, are you crazy?!" Lelouch yelled.
"You idiot!" Isshin yelled, "What are you doing?!"
Aizen and his followers were looking wondering what the young Quincy was doing. White got close and bit Masaki's left arm. Masaki got White right where she wanted and formed a small bow of Reishi and pointed at White's head.
"I got you," Masaki said.
Masaki shot White in the head point blank. The act shocked the men who witnessed the act. The black Hollow started to swell up and much to the surprise of Masaki, Isshin, and Lelouch, the black Hollow was about to explode. Isshin quickly rushed over to help and shield Masaki. Lelouch rushed after Isshin as well as a huge explosion occurred. Elsewhere, Kallen and Shirley were in the air and they saw the huge explosion.
"Over there," Shirley said.
"Let's go Shirley," Kallen said.
"Right," Shirley said with a nod.
At another area, there was someone standing in the air that was watching and it was Amatsuki.
"Hmm, interesting," Amatsuki said, "I can feel it."
Meanwhile, everyone at the place was surprised. Tosen and Kusakabe were upset that White just exploded.
"No way," Tosen said, "it blew up."
"Damn," Kusakabe said.
Aizen, Gin, and Shin just looked on. On the ground, Lelouch landed on his feet on the ground and looked and was worried. Masaki looked and was worried for the wellbeing of the Shinigami and she saw that Isshin on the ground and she panicked a bit.
"Hey, are you okay?" Masaki asked as she rushed over to Isshin.
"Y-Yeah," Isshin responded, "Ouch… sorry and thank you. It's shameful… a captain like me saved by a girl."
"That's…" Masaki said, "You're the one who saved me. If you hadn't shielded me, you wouldn't be so wounded."
Isshin laughed in response, "In that case, let's call it even, okay?"
"Isshin," Lelouch said as rushed over to Isshin and Masaki, "Isshin."
"Hi Captain," Isshin said, "Sorry you have to see me like this."
"Don't worry about it," Lelouch said and then he smiled, "I'm just glad you're not worse for wear. Also, you can stop referring to me as Captain. That title is yours now."
"Haha, right," Isshin responded happily, "sorry, force of habit but yeah, I'm glad you're okay as well. I appreciate your help. It's good to see you again. I have a lot of questions."
"I'm sure you do but let's concentrate in you recovering first," Lelouch said.
"I'll heal you," Masaki said as he moved closer to Isshin.
"Thank you," Isshin said as he and Lelouch turned to Masaki, "By the way, who are you? What's your name?"
Masaki stiffed up and was nervous as she was not sure how to respond and thought about Ryuken and his mother and how they would react based on the action she took.
"How should I reply?" Masaki asked herself in her head, "What would a… no two Shinigami do knowing that I'm Quincy?"
"Pardon me," Lelouch said.
"Huh?" Masaki said looking at Lelouch.
"You're actually a Quincy, aren't you," Lelouch said.
"Ah," Masaki replied.
"Huh, you're a Quincy?" Isshin asked surprised as he looked at Masaki.
Masaki clenched her fist and decided to be truthful.
"Yes," Masaki said with a nod, "I am Masaki Kurosaki and I'm a Quincy."
Isshin just looked at Masaki when she confessed and then he responded happily.
"I see," Isshin said happily, "so you're really are a Quincy. It's the first time I actually met one."
Masaki was surprised at Isshin's reaction and felt relieved. Lelouch looked on as Isshin and Masaki were talking to each other as Masaki was healing Isshin. Lelouch smiled as seeing it as pleasant scene and he hoped that he would be able to ask Masaki about the Quincies while was Masaki was feeling relieved that it was not bad revealing her status as a Quincy and she felt glad and she wondered if that is how Shinigami were these days when it came to Quincies. Meanwhile in the air, there were two people who were watching and it was Ryuken and Kanae who had their equipment.
"Let's go Kanae," Ryuken said, "Masaki is all right so there are no issues."
"Yes, understood," Kanae replied with a sad expression, "As you command Young Master."
On the ground, two people were rushing over to them and it was Kallen and Shirley and they were surprised to see Isshin who was surprised and happy to see the two former Lieutenants. Kallen and Shirley were grilling Lelouch for rushing on his own making them and the others worried and Lelouch apologized in response. Isshin and Masaki just looked on with amazement and they looked at each other and smiled at each other and laughed. Lelouch then looked up in the sky and he did see the five men that were standing in the air. Lelouch narrowed as he concluded that they left and went back to the Soul Society and what frustrating for him that at the moment, he couldn't do anything.
Seireitei, Soul Society
In their lab, Tosen slammed his hands on the console as he and Kusakabe were upset with how things went with their created Hollow.
"This is impossible!" Tosen said upset, "If it blew up, it didn't just have a target Hollowfication. It just means that it actually reached the final stage of the transformation."
"It's that damn Quincy," Kusakabe said angrily, "that meddling brat is at fault."
"It was a failure," Tosen said, "we created it to Hollowfy Shinigami and yet that was a fiasco."
"That is not true," Aizen said, "when things stray off the original goal, sometimes it's because they're surpassing it."
"Captain Aizen," Shin said.
"Sir…" Kusakabe said.
"An unexpected happening means 'a happening that we weren't able to predict'."
"Captain Aizen," Gin said.
"Interesting," Aizen said as he was pleased, "not only that, a familiar face resurfaced after thirty years. That is quite exciting," Aizen turned to Shin and Kusakabe, "Doesn't it please you as well? Shin? Josui?"
"Well I admit I am pleased to see him again," Shin said with a smile.
"I think it would be best for all of us if Lelouch Kenjima was dead," Kusakabe said, "His very existence is a nuisance."
"Well at any rate, a Hollow created from a dead Shinigami actually chose a Quincy, a being opposite to it," Aizen said, "Don't you all wish to see what is ahead of this?"
