"Did you hear me girl?" Helios asked in enochian, as he set a tea cup in front of me. We were sitting in his self created realm, Elysian. It was a vast desert. He chose to never learn the universal language so we could only speak in the language of the celestials. I found myself thanking my mom and Aquarius for teaching me. "Time flows differently here than on Earthland." The heat of his power was so subconsciously destructive, he had to create his own isolation prison to avoid hurting anyone. Every now and then there would be a wizard he can grant his power to to bring them to his world and they could summon him on Earthland as a phoenix but it came at a cost to him and the wizard. Whenever the wizard wielded Sunshine, it would burn at the contract. People who got to that point couldn't make another contract because the physical magical strain was very painful. "There are too many limitations on the ability so no one wanted to keep it anyway" he had told me once. How selfish! I thought to myself but then realized it was self preservation. I could see how having a contract you can only use between sun up and sun down would be debilitating.
".What if I only used the power in extreme emergencies?" I asked him. "That way we can still be friends."
He gazed at me for a moment. " I've never been offered that before."
"Offered what? A lengthy contract?" I questioned, afraid of the answer.
"Friendship. My power is destructive. I am the sun personified, therefore I cannot control the heat that radiates from my body." He explained softly. " It hurts people."
My heart reached out in sympathy." I am immune to all forms hot heat while being contracted to you, right?" He nodded slowly. "That's more useful to me than sunshine so there's nothing stopping us from being friends."
I smile to myself as I remember the time I spent training with Helios in Elysian during the months I was away from Natsu. I was there for about a year but when I returned to Earthland, it had been a few days. When I brought everyone to his world, the intense heat made it hard for them to be there for more than a few hours, except Natsu who loved sparring with the sun god. I suspect Helio's enjoyed the attention far more than he wanted to admit. We also found out that Natsu can take the heat that can leak from my body when I utilize sunshine and add it to his magic reserve. He wants to see if he can eat Sun Annihilation but I've seen first hand the destruction it could cause. There was no way I was hitting my lover with that. I would have to sneak to Elysian without Natsu to work on perfecting Sun Annihilation so as to not hurt anyone, or destroy the resort we were staying at during training.
"Get up!" Erza ordered. "It's time to go!"
"We're gonna crush the other guilds!" Natsu hollered.
"Aye sir!" Happy agreed.
" Let's go!" I say in excitement.
By the time we enter the arena, I'm super nervous. There were so many people in the audience and there were so many guilds competing. I subconsciously stepped closer to Natsu in anxiety. He threw his arm around my shoulder, "These are chumps Luce. We can take them."
"That's rich coming from a half rate dragon slayer." Said a blond boy.
He's from Sabertooth, I think to myself as I look at his guild tattoo.
"I bet you've never even slayed a dragon like me and my brother!" He continued.
I could practically feel Natsu's displeasure as he pushed me behind him to get in the boy's face. Before they could fight, confused murmurs broke out across the guild as I heard someone shout, "Fairy Tail can't do that! That's cheating!"
Gajeel, Laxus, Juvia, Mira and Mystogan were also in the arena. I blinked. Wasn't he in Edolas?
" There is nowhere in the rulebook that says we can't have a second team. So, meet Team B. '' Master's voice rang across the stadium. Leave it to the Master of Fiore's most destructive Guild to bend the rules.
"Welcome Guilds!" A guy with a pumpkin on his head shouted. "The Grand Magic Games is about to begin! The tasks to gain points for your guilds are split into three parts. Three way fights as the first part, obstacle courses as the second part and one on one fights as the third part with random games inbetween to gain extra points. Every part will be spread out over the course of Five days since there are so many of you. One person per team per guild has to participate in the game. Each team is allowed one stand in just in case a teammate uses up too much magic or gets too hurt or cannot compete. The guild with the highest number of points wins the games! Team Captains, we need you to pick a number. The three captains with the highest number, choose a fighter and make your way to the watch stand."
Raven Tail, Sabertooth and Fairy Tail A. My team, I think as my heart beat increases. I look as Sabertooth pushes a girl to the center who kind of looks like Lisanna. What got my attention was the sense of gold keys. She's a celestial wizard?
"Luce. You wanna go first?" Natsu questions, watching me stare at the girl.
"I don't think that's a good idea. That girl is a celestial wizard. If I lose to her I have to give up some of my keys. It's the rule amongst celestial wizards."
"So don't lose. You got this." Gray says as he pats my shoulder.
I watch them walk to the observation stand with a sigh. I appraise the Raven Tail girl. She had long red hair but… What was the darkness that was rolling off her? It felt similar to the way Sunshine rolls off me … I shivered as goosebumps broke out across my arms. I think I have a bigger problem than giving my keys to the other girl.
"Flare Corona from Raven Tail, Yukino Agria from Sabertooth, and Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail. The rules are simple. You have five Minutes to make your opponent lose magic power. The one with the least amount of Magic is the loser. It is one point if you're in second place and four points for first place. If one of you falls unconscious, that places you in last place for zero points."
I have no idea what Flare's magic is but Yukino and I were at a disadvantage. Celestial magic is an incredible strain on the user. The stronger the spirit, the greater the strain. I can feel she has at least two gold keys... I have ten. The darkness I feel from Flare though…
"Begin!"
"Open gate of the twin fish! Pisces!" Yukino starts. I jump to dodge two large fish that fly through the sky.
Incredible! She can summon water spirits without water. While I'm in the air, something grabs my ankle and throws me to the ground. Flare can move her hair like a weapon. I smirk as I know just what spirit to use against her. I didn't want to reveal my star dress to another celestial wizard yet.
"Open gate of the crab! Cancer!" I say as Cancer materialized. " I need you to give the red head a haircut." He jumps toward Flare but I have to avoid the twin fish. It seems Yukino and Flare are determined to take me out first.
"Open gate of the bull! Taurus!" I say as Taurus blocks One of the fish. He is pushed back but he pushes them in an impasse. I Taurus star dress and do the same with the other fish.
" What?!" Yukino gasps in shock. She holds another key. "Open gate of the scales! Libra!"
I'm pressed down but thanks to Taurus's strength, I'm still on my feet. Libra is gravity manipulation, I recall.
Flare and Cancer are not so lucky. I feel him go through his gate. Damn! She was too fast for him, she still has her hair.
"Open gate of the maiden! Virgo!" I say as she tunnels underground. I have to be fast for this to work; I need to get rid of Libra before I can switch star dresses. I'm pulled from Pisces by Flare's hair and tossed to the other side of the arena. I land with a huff as I roll to the side to avoid a sharp impact of red hair toward my face. That could have killed me!
"Virgo! Now!" I demand as I feel the gravity return to normal. I Cancer star dress and use the blades to shave her hair clean off. She screeched in horror as she touched her bald head. I guess that was the extent of her ability as she slumps to the ground. I'm hit from the side as one of the fish catches me in it's mouth. I channel the sunlight around me to increase the heat in the arena.
"Desert Heat!" I shout as the fish releases me and both are sent back to the celestial realm. "Hot! Hot! Hot!" I hear screeches of pain from the audience. I flinch as I tone down the heat.
"Open! Gate of the snake charmer, Ophiuchus!" She says. What?! The legendary thirteenth key? I thought it was a myth! I can't ponder on it as the giant basilisk flies toward me. It hits Virgo and sends her through her gate back to the spirit world. Damn, It is fast! I say as I keep dodging. I can't get an opening to summon or switch star dresses.
I glance toward Yukino. She looks exhausted as I feel grateful for still being star dressed as Cancer. I have his speed which means I just have to dodge until Yukino runs out of magic power.
"DO IT NOW!" I hear a shout but can't consider what that meant as a quickly growing bubble of darkness erupts from Flare. I run away from her as I see the bubble push Ophiuchus and swallow Yukino. He can't pass through? I think as I watch it hit and bounce off the bubble and disappear. I trip and land harshly on my face as I'm dragged toward the bubble. I claw at the ground in a vain attempt to escape.
As I'm pulled through the bubble, my star dress is stripped away. I kick off the tentacle of dark energy and push to my feet. I glance around and see Yukino unconscious a few yards from me.
"Hello Celestial wizard." A voice that sends chills down my spine rings out. I see a tall man with long dark hair and red eyes eyeing me with blood lust. If you wanna leave my realm, I'll have to kill one of you." I look at Flare in shock. Kill? This is a game! There is blood running down her arm. I look toward the man again. Don't worry about her. She is my vessel. Her blood summons me. I am Chaos."
Fear shifts through my body. A blood contract? A Primordial God! How?! Why!?
A tentacle of dark magic flies toward me. I dive away but I wasn't fast enough. It slices across my thigh. I hissed as I skidded away.
"Um excuse me?" The pumpkin guy says. How'd he get here? Shit! This was not good. "It's been five minutes. We are ready to go to the next game." He explains timidly as he turns to leave, a lightning bolt hits him causing him to yelp in pain.
"In order to leave my realm. A sacrifice has to be made." The voice of Chaos echos.
The pumpkin guy looks shocked as he asks, "What kind of sacrifice?"
"Someone has to die."
"No!" I scream. " No one dies!"
"You celestial wizards. Always so noble!" Chao sneers. " It is why I only blood contract to non-celestials."
I grip my forearm and press my magic in the key the Celestial Spirit King gave me as I try to pull from the sun. It's not working! I shout to myself in panic. I feel the spirit king pass though my magic but look around. He's not here.
Chaos smirks. "No one enters my world without my permission."
Shit. I can't use my keys here. "I feel Helio's power. It's too bad my baby brother's power only works to mortals in sunlight. I'm sure you are aware, sunlight can't pass through here."
Double shit.
"Pick someone to die or I will." He menacingly announces.
I feel the celestial king's power rising outside the barrier. I wonder if I can overload the bubble and get us out of here. I need more power. I sprint to Yukino.
"I'm sorry about this." I murmur but doubt she can hear me since she was still unconscious. I pull her two Zodiac Keys and add them to mine. I feel the power of all twelve zodiac keys pass through their respective gates. I see lights flicker across the barrier as I feel the power of all thirteenth spirits collide. It must look weird to see a giant samurai like warrior and twelve spirits striking the bubble on the outside, I think in sardonic humor.
Chaos is darkness personified but he's still a spirit I think as I stand on my feet. I can use my power to push him through his gate! NO ONE HAS TO DIE!
"How dare you challenge me!" He roars in self-righteous indignation.
I push and push with all my might. I could see the spider web cracks in the barrier. Just a little more! He steps back as I push forward.
"No!" He roars again in anger. He throws his hands to send tentacles my way. I use my power to try to bounce them away. They cut my skin as I feel his terrifying darkness collide with my celestial magic. The powers make torrents of wind I can feel through my hair. The cracks grow as sunlight peaks through. My veins begin to grow hot as I continue to throw celestial magic at him, now being supported by sunshine.
Behind me the Spirit King's sword sinks into the ground as the barrier begins to disintegrate. Pisces fish hits him to skid him backwards as I see Virgo with a Fleuve D'etoiles. She wraps it around Chaos and yanks him backwards away from everyone in the arena. Leo, Capricorn and Taurus tackle him as he yells in fury.
"You want me gone! Fine! But you are coming with me!"
An enormous gate with two skeletons with swords appears behind him. My power is being pulled by him and I'm being dragged toward the opening gates. If I let go, the power of the gate could suck in the audience. I think, alarmed. I can't use the full power of sunshine without hurting anyone and I can't let go. What should I do?! Think Lucy! Think!
I channel sunshine to slither through my magic, increasing the force toward the God. Every step he takes backwards through his gate, I'm tugged forward. I plant my feet further on the ground. Close the gate! "Close the Gate!" I shout. Every Zodiac spirit covered in golden sunlight flies to the gate and pushes with all their might.
Over my head I see the king's arms grip the gate and press it closed. I tumble forward landing on my face as the gate and every celestial deity disappears. I'm conscious and bleeding from each of my wounds but I can't move.
I challenged a primordial god... AND WON!
Pumpkin head runs toward me after putting his hand on Flare's wrist. He puts his hand on my wrist and pulls it back in pain. Even though my magic is exhausted, I can still feel the residual heat of sunshine. I must have burned him.
"Flare is in First place with four points to Raven Tail!" He announces. "Lucy is in second place so one point to Fairy Tail A team."
I glance at Flare who is on her feet, staring at me with astonishment. How did her hair grow back? She tried to sacrifice us to a sadistic god! How is she not disqualified?
I look over my shoulder to see Yukino still unconscious. Natsu reaches me at the same time the medics do.
"Lets get her on a cot and get her to the infirmary."
" That's not a good idea." I try to warn. The medic pulls his burnt hand with a hiss.
"I can carry her." Natsu pipes up. "Show me where to go." When he picks me up, I see a scalding body imprint in my place on the ground. I can't… I'm so tired…
