A purple car pulled up to the Manson residence. Once it had parked, the girl in the passenger seat looked to the teen behind the wheel.
"That was a great movie," Sam said.
"Yeah," Wade responded. "But you want to know my favorite part of it?"
"What?"
"The part where you critique the movie at every corner."
Sam felt offended and folded her arms.
"Hey! I did not."
The brown haired teen raised a brow with a smile.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
"What about when the father failed to save the freezing woman? You said he could have done it faster."
"He could have," the goth argued. "Seriously, it was a life or death situation and he moved slow as a snail."
"Ok. What about when the blonde girl died before the rest of the victims?"
"That made absolutely zero sense. If they were all poisoned around the same time then they all should have kicked the bucket too."
"Then there was also the part when..."
"Alright fine. I critique. Sue me. But I can't help it if the plot of the movie has gaps in the logical department."
"Its easy for you to say when you're the smartest girl in town."
Sam blushed at the compliment and said nothing.
"Cat got your tongue? What happened to all that critiquing a second ago?"
The girl shook her head and glared.
"You're lucky I like you otherwise I might have kissed you."
"Aw man," Wade pounded the steering with a fist and let out a sigh.
The two went silent for a few seconds. But then they start laughing.
"Wow. That was some good acting huh?"
"Yeah. I think we could star in our own movie someday."
"Hopefully it will make a lot more sense than the one we saw."
"Knowing my luck, it probably wont."
Sam smiled at him before leaning in and pecking him on the cheek.
Wade blushed in silence.
"What's the matter?" the teen girl teased. "Moth got your tongue?"
Before Wade could collect himself, she pulled open the door and stepped out of the car onto the sidewalk.
Sam walked to the steps and made her way up. At the door, she turned and waved at boy.
Wade returned the gesture with his own hand.
The goth girl pulled out her key and used it to make her way inside.
The brown haired boy proceeded to grab the gearshift and pulled it down. The car went into reverse.
"Whoops!" Wade mashed the breaks to stop from hitting the car behind him. He corrected his mistake by shifting to drive and the car rolled away.
Meanwhile at the Mayor's office...
Tucker sighed in relief once he had finished looking over a mountain of paperwork. Some of which he would sign and others he would not. Either way it was tedious.
"Finally finished...!" he let out standing on his feet and stretching his back. Once he was finished with that, he pulled out his PDA and checked the time. "Looks like its time for me to head home."
But then the phone on his desk beeped. Which caused him to groan.
"Please no more last minute meetings."
He picked it up.
"Yes Miss Barbara? Can it wait until tomorrow? Ok fine. Send her in."
Tucker hung up the phone. Then in the next moment his office door opened. And in came a blonde haired girl with turquoise eyes who wore a white t-shirt with the letter 9 on it in addition to orange capris and white flats.
He blinked at the girl he recognized right away.
"Star? What are you doing here?"
The cheerleader and also A-Lister from his school had a frown on her face. Her brows seemed to lower slightly.
"Foley," she addressed him by his last name. Uttering it left an unpleasant taste in her mouth. "I'm here for the internship."
"You?" He points at her and then towards the floor. "Want to intern here?"
Star places hands on her hips.
"Yeah."
"But you don't have to. You're popular and..."
"That can only get you so far Foley. FYI. Now can we get on with the interview? I don't want to be in here with you any longer than I have to."
Tucker seemed to think about this situation.
"(I'm going to be Star's boss? I never thought this would happen. At least not until I became successful like Mark Gates. I'll be like that Charles guy with his angels. Only minus 2 of them. Tucker's Angel. I like the sound of that.)"
He smiled and gestured to the chair on the other side of his desk.
"Please. Have a seat."
Star narrowed her eyes at his invitation. She did not trust the warm welcoming he extended to her. Still, the blonde knew she had no choice but to accept it. There was no other way of getting the position. And so she moved to the seat and sat down.
Tucker did the same afterwards and said, "Let's get this interview started."
AN: Thank God for opening up my understanding.
