Using the shadows to their advantage and with Theresa leading them, they went back to the prison that Masters Chang and Okaitsu were at. "This way." There were two guards there so they couldn't enter without being seen but they heard a horn calling them to leave their position to search for Randy and the Five.

They all entered the prison as fast as they could nut Randy tripped over his feet as they entered causing him to crash face-first on the ground with the others landing on their feet. "Oh-you! What did you do? It's chaos up there. What happened to stopping Shadow?" Master Okaitsu demanded.

Theresa helped Randy up and the others looked at him and asked, "Yeah." Marty said confused. Randy knew the plan, they all did, and yet... Randy wasn't able to stop Shadow... why?

Randy walked away and tried to explain himself. "Guys, come on. Give me a little credit." He turned to them and said, "I meant for him to get away because, uh... it was a trick. It was a plot. I was thinking... I'll figure out his plot more." Randy was lying and they all knew it.

"That makes no sense," Marty told him.

"What do you mean? Sure, it does. I'm gonna figure out his plot then stop it."

"Randy, the truth," Theresa demanded. She walked up to him to corner him. "You had Shadow. What happened?"

Randy fell to his butt then tried to explain himself but was still failing. "What are you talking about? I don't know what you're talking about. I... yeah... ok, he caught me off guard."

Theresa went down to one knee and stared at him in the eye. "The truth." Randy kept his mouth shut. He didn't know how to explain what happened in the tower with Shadow. "Fine. They will keep you far from danger."

"Real far," Master Chang told him.

"What?" Randy asked confused.

"You're staying here."

The Five proceeded to leave but Randy wanted to go with them, no, he needed to go with them. He quickly stood up and took off after them. "W... wait! I have to go ba..."

Theresa stomped her foot hard on the ground causing everyone to look at the two. "You're staying here!"

Randy looked at him fearless then told her, "I'm going and you can't stop me." Randy tried to go forward but without warning, Thresa grabbed his arm, spun him around then pushed him back. "Ok. I wasn't ready that time."

"Guys, don't," Heidi begged but the two didn't listen.

"Ready," Theresa told him once she was in a fighting position.

"Look!" Randy said as he pointed in a random direction trying to distract Theresa but it didn't work. She spun him around once again but kicked him in the air and he landed on his belly. 'I'm not giving up. Shadow has answers and I'm going to get them.' He stood up quickly and ran at Theresa but once again but forced him back. He hit the ground with his fist in frustration. 'I need answers! They don't know what it's like!'

"Stay down," Heidi told him.

"I have to get to him," Randy told her.

"Then tell me why!"

Randy sighed. "He was there! Ok? Shadow was there the last time I saw my parents. He knows what happened. Where I came from. Who I am. I was found floating in a basket on a river with nothing but a note, this scarf, and the clothes on me. I have been wondering where I came from my entire life and that evil sorcerer has the answers." Theresa just looked at him with sympathy.

'Randy... just wants the answers to his past.'

"Look, I'm going," Randy told her as he stood up. "I have to know. The hardcore can't understand."

Theresa balled up her fists and ran at Randy. "Theresa, no!"

Instead of attacking Randy, Theresa gave him a hug shocking everyone in the room. "The hardcore do understand." She released the hug and told him, "But I can't watch my friend be killed."

"We're going." With that Theresa left.

"Maybe you can't watch me be killed..." Charlie said hoping Theresa would let him stay behind.

"Stop being a wimp."

"And she's back," Monty said.

"Wait." Everyone stopped in their tracks. Heidi turned to Randy and said, "Shadow called you, Norisu Ninja. Do you know what that is?"

"No. I don't." Heidi nodded then left with the others.

"Don't worry, kid. You're better off here." Randy looked at Master Okaitsu then down at the ground. 'I'm not too sure about that. What about the others?' Randy thought to himself.

Deep within Shadow's lair, the warriors were working hard to making more of the weapons and loading them up. "You were wrong, Soothsayer, just like your grandmother. We sail to victory tonight," Shadow told Howard as he was practicing his sword fighting. "That Norisu Ninja is clearly a fool?"

"Are you certain it is the Norisu Ninja who is a fool?" Howard asked him. "You just destroyed your ancestral home, Shadow."

Not caring about his home, Shadow said as he heated up a sword and lit a map on fire. "A trivial sacrifice when all of Japan is my reward."

"Then will you finally be satisfied? Will the subjugation of the whole world finally make you feel better?" Howard asked him.

Shadow smirked. "It's a start. I might also convert the basement into a dungeon."

Howard looked at Shadow with sympathy. "The cup you choose to fill has no bottom. It is time to stop this madness." Howard walked over to Shadow who was looking over an edge.

"Why on Earth would I do that?" He asked with a small chuckle escaping his lips.

"So your parents can finally rest in peace."

"My parents hated me. Do you understand? They even replaced me with a son with my old name. They wronged me. And... I will make it right."

"They loved you. They loved you so much that having to send you away killed them. After their second son was born, they both passed on."

Shadow looked over the edge once more with a look of sadness on his face but it went away quickly. "The dead exist in the past... and I must tend to the future." Shadow and Howard were quiet for a while then Shadow said, "Set the Soothsayer free. He's no use to me."

"Goodbye, Shadow. I wish you happiness, dude."

"Happiness must be taken... and I will take mine." A large warrior guided Howard out but he slapped the guard's hand hard as he left.

I want to apologize for taking so long to update. I have been crazy busy this summer. I have summer school classes and work with me working 30-40 hours a week so not much time to myself.
