My dreams glitter gold,

Castles buried in mountains and yetis trudging through snow.

Flowers blinding, snow shining.

Wonder fills my heart.

It's beautiful.

Fear grips me: tight.

I look into golden, merciless eyes.

But I can't, won't shut my eyes against them

For fear that when they open, I'll be awake.

In a world where snow elicits no more than grumbles of annoyance

And Christmas, undue stress.

My dreams don't glitter in that world, for they are not my own.

Memories cloud my eyes with water,

Sparking waterfalls.

There's no time to enjoy the beauty of spring.

Work, stress, people.

It's all too much.

Fear be gone.

Let me live in this perfect world

A little longer.
