Last Time

"I made a promise...and I intend to keep it." He half whispers into her ear. He then smashes his fist into her chest, ignoring the screams at him and yanks the defibrillator over to try one last time.

"Clear" he whispers.

Laxus POV

Everybody was at a standstill. Nobody dared to move, as if the sound would stop if they did.

"Is that?" the blue haired lady questioned

"It's a rhythm" the maniac that punched her in the chest said. "Its her heartbeat"

"She's alive" I whispered to Gramps.

"She's alive!" the blue haired lady screamed in relief.

I don't know why that annoying sound made me feel such relief but it was a weight that was just lifted off my shoulders.

Why? Why does the sound of her heartbeat make me so happy? Why do I care what happens to this chick? I don't know her.

I patted Gramps shoulder and left the room because I couldn't stand the sight of her covered in blood as if she was still dead any longer. As I walked down the hall I realized that I had no clue where my guildmates were. As I was looking around I saw that little girl that was sobbing so hard when the bloody bodies were brought in sitting on the ground by a door.

"Hey"

I was meet with silence. She was just sitting there with her knees to her chest, staring at the wall in front of her. I realized that she must be in shock with the events that just happened, so I just walked in through the doorway where she was sitting and realized that it was so kind of mass conference room.

"Laxus!" Erza screamed. Everyone looked right at me.

"Is Lucy alive?" "Did she die?" "Is she ok?" "Well?" "Tell us the news!" "Goddamn it, say something!" was screamed at me all at once.

I fully entered the room and shut the down. Looking back, I see the girls staring at me waiting for an answer. My team members sitting in chairs looking just as eager for answers and Natsu, Gray, Jellal and Gajeel huddled against the back wall as if they were ordered to stand in a corner.

"Back the fuck off" I growled at the girls viciously, pushing my way through them to sit by my team.

"You good bossman?" Bickslow questioned me.

"Yeah" I respond to him, almost like I was out of breath.

"Laxus? I assume that was Miss Lucy that was all bloody, is she ok?" Freed asked.

"She's alive" I responded in a way to let him know that she was most definitely not ok.

"She's alive" I repeated louder so the girls who were glaring daggers at me by the door could hear.

There was a collected sigh from all the girls.

"So she's ok" Cana said to the group.

"I didn't say that" I responded to her comment.

"What! You just said she was alive! You lied!" Mira exclaimed.

"Exactly! I said she was alive. She is not ok, she's alive, there is a difference. She was dead, heart stopped, pale as could be but they managed to restart her heart. What about that says that she is ok? Nothing, exactly. She is just alive at the moment." I explained to them in an exasperated tone.

All the girls looked down, sad again at the news that their friend was alive but not okay.

Looking back to my team members I questioned

"What the fuck are they doing?" as I pointed to the boys against the back wall.

"Oh them? They got yelled at" responded Ever.

At my questioning eyebrow, (because why use words) she began telling me the full story.

Time Lapse Back?

As the group is walking with the little girl leading all of the girls are holding a conversation amongst themselves.

"That was Lucy right?" Lisanna questioned.

"Yeah" Cana managed to squeak out through her tears.

"But, I mean, we haven't seen her in awhile. That might not have been her." Levy rebutted.

"It was her" Erza responded.

"Well how do you know!" Levy exclaimed.

"Because! I saw her shirt, or what was left, I saw the zodiac symbols. You know as well as any of us, she was obsessed with them." Erza dejectedly said.

"Oh god" Mira gasped out.

"But there is no way right? It was just a lot of blood, it could just not be hers right?" Lisanna scrambled out.

"It was hers" Mira whispered "There were all sorts of gashes on her"

"She can't be, this is not happening" Cana shook her head

All the girls came to the realization but could bear to speak it out loud. At this time the little girl in front stopped and let out a loud sob.

"Oh sweetheart" Mira sympathized catching up to her and hugging her. "What's your name?"

"Plue" she gasped out, breaking down even more.

AN/ I am making Plue age 7 instead of a childhood friend, she was still brought in by Leo and Lucy has kind of taken her under her wing

She then broke out of the hug and opened a door.

"You can wait in here" she said through her tears.

"Oh ok, thank you" Mira said as she walked in the room.

The boys were in the back of the group the entire time but as they were walking into the room Natsu leaned over to Gray.

"She's gotta be dead right? That was a lot of blood"

Plue shoved them into the room and slammed the door. She then slid down the door frame and just cried on the floor.

"Natsu!" Erza screamed in the once when the door was slammed shut.

"What?" he defended

"You an idiot fire crotch" Gray said backing away.

"What the hell did you say to me popsicle dick? Why I oughta-"

-POW- Erza straight up sucker punched Natsu in the face

"What the hell!" Natsu screamed at her

"Why would you say that!" Lisanna screamed

"Yeah! Obviously Lucy meant a lot to her and you just straight up said that she was dead when you don't even know that!" Levy exclaimed.

"Well, to be fair. There was a lot of blood" Jellal explained with his hands up peacefully.

"Yeah. There ain't no way she gonna survive losing that much blood" Gajeel backed Jellal up.

"You don't know know that!" Juvia backed up the girls.

"enough" Erza said, even though no one heard her.

"I ain't insulting her, I'm just saying you can't survive that" Gajeel explained

Levy got right up in his face

"You. Don't. Know. That." Levy screamed

"Yes. I. Do." Gajeel screamed back.

"Hey now" Jellal said getting in-between them.

"Look I've seen some shit" Gajeel rebutted backing up a bit.

"We all have" Gray stated.

"Too much" Natsu responded.

"Exactly, we just have to be real here. Its gonna be a damn miracle if she makes it." Gajeel said

"ENOUGH!" Erza screamed at the tops of her lungs.

Silence followed.

"I am sick of you boys! You don't even know Lucy, she has been through more than any of us combined, I can guarantee it! So shut the fuck up and get in that damn corner!" Erza screamed at them

Natsu, Gray, Jellal and Gajeel practically fell over each other running to the back of the room.

"And if we hear one more word out of any of you...oh lets just say YOU will be the dead one" Mira threatened.

The boys nod their heads not wanting to take both Erza and Mira on, because lets be honest, that's a death wish in and of itself. Meanwhile the Thunder Legion calmly just sat down at the table while all of this was going on. (Why get between that?).
