Till we apart Aftermath: A conversation
This idea somehow flashed through my mind and I decided to write it ASAP so it might be a bit rough.
Somewhere, in an unknown period of time …
Some thieves are trying to run from the soldiers …
"Stop right there you thief!" one of the solider shouted
One of the thieves threw something like an explosive and it exploded right in front of the group of the solider and created a big hole, made them unable to go further.
"See you later!" The thief leader said with a mocking voice.
Suddenly a flash of golden lightning came from behind the troops and passed straight through the hole and right after that a slash came out hit one of the thieves knocking them unconscious.
"What the hell was that?" one of them freaked out then pulled out another explosive thing but before he could throw it … a hairpin infused with golden lightning energy hit his right on his arm made him unable to throw then follow up by another slash, knocking him out. Luckly for him that thing didn't explode
After the dust around is cleared, those thieves saw a young girl like 15,16 years 'old with purple hair tied into waist-length twin-tails, topped by small odango-style buns resembling cat ears. The pair of sharping golden eyes from that girl were locking up those thieves to make sure none of them escape.
"It's just a little girl! Boy attack her!" the thief leader shouted out as 5,6 of them charged in.
"I don't think so!" She drew her sword, rushed toward them then used one of her skills. In a flash there were multiple of golden lightning slashing all of the thieves. All of them got knocked off from her attack then fainted.
After a few minutes the troop has managed catch up to her. She turned to the troops and said:
"The rest is up to you chief" She threw the stiletto and teleported to the next building then left.
"Thank you for your help, miss!" The troop leader said and waved good bye to her.
A few moments later …
The purple hair girl returned to the Adventure's guild after the fight with the thieves.
"Welcome to the adventure guild, miss! Do you need something" The Guild receptionist greet the purple cat's hair girl.
"I've completed all the commission for today" the girl said as she gave all the spoil of the battle.
"Wow impressive as always… Thank you for your help. Here is the reward"
The girl took the reward then begin to leave but before that The Guild receptionist called her back.
"Do you have time to talk … My shift is almost end anyways so I'm free for the rest of the day"
The girl then nodded
"That's great I will see you at the bar in the evening"
Time goes on as the evening has come to the city
In the Bar, Second floor
Two people … The Guild receptionist and the purple hair girl are sitting on the table in the wide balcony … drinking some kind of fruit juice …
"Your parent will be very proud of you for your hard work" The Guild receptionist said
"Thanks, it is my duty after all" the girl smiled
"How's your parent? Are they still fine?"
"My mother passed long time ago and my dad is on a long journey but he will be back soon" The girl said with a bit of sadness but still calm.
"Sorry to hear it… I bet they will be very happy to see you have grown up into beautiful girl today, you look a lot like your mother"
"You've flattered me so much" She chuckled. "My father stayed with her from his first met till her last moment and she had a very happy life with him"
The evening is really quite breeze and calm … just like that day in the place called "Dwelling in the Clouds"… her mother talked about the story between her and her father to her daughter a lot.
"I know you are still working in the govern as one of the Qixing, but why you still want to work as an adventurer?"
The girl shook her head: "I don't know … may be some kind of my habit I think"
"Just like your mother and your father" The Guild receptionist chuckled.
"Yeah, I think so, my mother used to teach me a lot about governing a city and also sword's fight too also my dad always takes me with him to go adventure a lot. And I really love every of it" The girl said with excitement.
"Are you planning of staying as the Qixing for a long time?"
"For now, at least, but till the day come I will leave this position for the other …"
"Why?" The Guild receptionist wondered.
"Despite of having a look like a normal person but I seem to have a longer life than the other, and a "bit" stronger than them as well so I don't think it will be a good idea if I staying in there for a long time. I want to travel around the world too but only after I full fill my duty as the Qixing" The girl said
"Interesting"
After talking for a while, The Guild receptionist then gave her the menu: "Hungry? It seems like you still haven't eaten yet?"
The girl looks at the menu then point one item "How about this one?"
The Guild receptionist then called the waiter: "Two Golden shrimp ball please!"
After a while, the meal is served. Both of them enjoy the evening meal while continued to talk.
"It seems like you call this dish a lot, I saw you call this one most of the time" The Guild receptionist said.
"It's one of my mother's favorite dishes … she used to cook these a lot, my father also like it and now it's mine too" the girl laughed.
"So can you cook too?"
"Yes, even in the wildness I can use this Hairpin as a survival gear to make some fish fried or something else" The girl then showed the hairpin to the guild receptionist.
The Guild receptionist's looking at the fine made hairpin, although is a bit worn out but the sharpness is still there and shine bright when it infused with energy.
"Quite an impressive gear you have, miss" The Guild receptionist complimented
"My father had gifted it to me before he went for a journey. He said it's a special gift from my mother"
"Hmmm what a special gift… normally people only gift this precious item like this when they are completely trust each other… I guess your mother loved your father a lot… and of course … they love you too…"
"He said he had kept this hair pin very carefully since the day my mother had gifted him and now, he gave it to me because he wants me to remember about mother" The girl then saw The Guild receptionist looking not so well, the watery appear in that person's eyes.
"Are you ok?" The girl asked, wordily
"I'm fine… just some stupid dirt gotten in my eyes" The Guild receptionist then wiped the watery in the eye… After that The Guild receptionist has calmed down and then smiled at the girl "Alright, I'm back now … hmm where are we talking right now…? Ah yes, the hairpin…it looks good on you"
"Thanks…" The girl shyly said
"How long have your father have gone anyways? I'm kind of curious since I haven't seen him for quite a long time now… I still remember the last time I had met him when you and your father came to the adventure's guild".
"It's 25 years now"
"Hmmm… 25 years and yet you still look like the same when I first met... You are indeed different from here" The Guild receptionist said.
"I know, when I was born, I still grew up like normal people in here for 15 years then after that I stopped to grow up and ended up like this. I wonder why too…" I girl answered.
"Do you feel lonely when your father is not here?"
The girl then shook her head: "At first I feel a bit lonely but then I get more friend in the city I feel much better and so happy too. And I'm glad the people in the city are satisfied for what I've been doing in the city also" then she continued: "My father once said whenever you feel lonely, just looking up at the sky … He said wherever you go, whatever life throws at you... the stars in the sky will always have a place for you."
"You are quite reliable girl... your parent will be very proud of" The Guild receptionist said.
After that the two people looking up at the sky, there are so many stars that bright up and it's a really a senary to worth watching. They then saw the two golden lights from the sky slowly descending to the ground.
"Guess who is back?" The Guild receptionist looked at it, smiled
"It's father and aunt, they are back! I want to see them!" The girl very excited as she takes The Guild receptionist's hand.
"Let's go see them!" The girl urged
The Guild receptionist smiled again: "Sorry miss, but it seems like I got other thing to do at the guild now, may be another time…"
"But…"
"Don't worry I will see you and them soon… we are friend after all… I promised"
"I still don't know your name yet? Although we've known each other in the guild for quite a time now…" The girl asked
The Guild receptionist then laughed: "Just call me The Receptionist that's all, Miss Little kitten"
"Hmph! I will soon know your name soon! And stop call me little kitten, I'm not that young anymore!" The girl chuckled "But how do you know about my parent a lot?"
"In my eyes … you still are" The Guild receptionist smiled "As The guild receptionist, we also have keen eyes to know a lot of thing and of course… your parents know me too"
"You've seen both of them too? How old are you actually?"
"The Guild receptionist then put a finger on its lips and smiled: "It's a secret" then continued "Now go, they are waiting for you… Don't worry about the bill, it's my treat today"
"Thank you!" The girl then goes to the place where the two golden lights have landed.
After a while, the purple cat-hair's girl has finally seen golden hair man then jumped for an embrace and the other person look like his twin went to them for a hug too.
"Father! Aunt! You're back! I'm so glad to see you!" The girl still hugging both of them … and crying of happiness
Although they are father and aunt of the girl but they're only look a bit older than the girl…
"Are you still good? Sorry for leaving you for too long?" The man asked the girl with worries.
"I'm still fine, I've made a lot of friends too, and also that person has helped me a lot"
"Oh, that Guild receptionist, we haven't seen that person for a long time … Is that person in here?" The woman asked
"I tried to tell but seem like that person got work to do… Sorry Auntie" The girl looked down.
"That's ok, that person is always like that. I will find and take that person for some beer treat" The man said, laughed.
"Well then let's go home! Time to have some family reunion celebration first!" The women said as all three of them went back home… their home in this world.
Somewhere in the distant, The Guild receptionist is looking at that golden hair man, smiling "You've kept your promise well… Aether. May your family always happy". That person went back to the city and then disappeared into the crowd of people.

He has keeping her promise…
A promise she told him a long time ago:
"Will you remember me?"
