Chapter 2

The hunt begins

News and rumours about the supposed 'Vampire Lady' spread like wildfire. People even decided to send out hunting parties to look for her.

The following day at Heartland Academy.

"Alright everyone", said the lead boy. "It's time to wrangle us a vampire".

"Uh, are you sure this is safe?" Asked a boy with hair covering his left eye.

"Relax", said the lead boy. "I got crosses with me".

Later that night.

The students were walking through the darkened streets of Heartland city.

"Uh, J-J-J-J-Jerry", stuttered one of the male students. "Are you ABSOLUTELY sure this is safe?".

"Relax Kevin", said Jerry. "It's like I told Michael, we're fine".

"I'm having second thoughts about this" said a girl student with pig tails.

"Come on", said Jerry. "What's there to be scared about?".

"Hm, let's see", said another boy. "We're out in the middle of the night. We're hunting a monster that could drink our blood, turn us into slaves, has enough strength to kick over a car, oh, AND WE COULD GET KILLED!". They then heard the sound of something being knocked over.

"Uh, w-w-who's there?" Asked a student holding up a torch. They moved the torches all over the place until it fell onto a stray cat next to a garbage can lid.

"Ugh, it's just a stray cat" said Jerry.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!".

"Oh come on Kevin", said Jerry. "I know you're skittish but-". Everyone's blood ran cold when the looked to where Kevin was. There, was Kevin, with his neck being bitten, by the Vampire Lady. Blood was coming out of Kevin's neck. She then released his neck and Kevin dropped to the ground.

"RUN!" Shouted Jerry. So they did. But, it was futile.

The next morning.

"Six students from Heartland Academy were hospitalised last night after an attack from the mysterious Vampire Lady", said a Newscaster. "This makes twelve thirteen victims so far".

Yuma and his friends were watching the whole news broadcast on Tori's duel pad.

"Those poor guys" said Bronk in concern.

"We need to find this 'Vampire Lady' and stop her before anymore people get bitten" said Cathy.

"What do you mean by 'we'?" Asked Caswel.

"Think about it", said Cathy. "We've faced Number Hunters and Number Cards, so, why not face the supernatural?".

Astral then appeared beside Yuma.

"Yuma, I have a question", said Astral. "What is a 'Vampire'?".

"A vampire is a human-like monster that only comes out at night to drink blood from the living", answered Yuma. "Preferably from virgins".

"What is a 'virgin'?" Asked Astral. This made Yuma's face turn bright red.

"Uh, a virgin is a man or a woman that, uh, has 'mated' with another man or woman" answered Yuma.

"So, does that mean that you are a 'virgin'?" Asked Astral curiously.

"WILL YOU STOP ASKING QUESTIONS!" Shouted Yuma.

"Is your 'ghostly duelist friend' asking questions again?" Asked Flip.

"Yeah", answered Yuma. "He just asked me what a virgin was". Yuma's friends then blushed.

"Sooooo", said Tori. "Did you tell him that-".

"Yes, I told him what that is" said Yuma.

"Back on the topic at hand", said Caswell. "How exactly do you propose that we hunt down AND capture a creature that put 13 people in the hospital?". An idea then pinged in Yuma's brain.

"I got an idea", said Yuma. "Meet me at my house after school. I think I have something that can help".

After school.

Tori and the others arrived at Yuma's house. Yuma's Grandma then answered the door and let them in.

"Nice to see you Haru" said Tori as they entered.

"If you're wondering where Yuma is", said Haru. "He's in his room". They made their way up to Yuma's room. When they did get there, they saw Yuma looking through his cupboard.

"Now, let's see", said Yuma. "Where the hell did I *prolonged, severe grunting* AHA!". Yuma then pulled out an old dusty book from the cupboard.

"What's that?" Asked Caswel.

"My dad called it the Encylomonstria", said Yuma. "It contains the info of EVERY monster on the planet".

"What does it say about vampires?" Asked Tori. Yuma placed the book on the floor and opened it up to the 'V' section where he found vampires.

"Aha, vampires", said Yuma. "Well apart from the basics, it's said that their wrinkled stereotypical appearance is only for those who don't look after their skin. They CAN go out in the sun if they look after their skin. Oh, and they like virgins of their opposite gender, usually. I'm not excluding the Lesbians and the Gays".

"So, what do we do?" Asked Flip.

"From the way I see things", said Caswel. "The only way we're gonna catch that blood sucker is at night".

"We just need to set a trap", said Caswel. "And we need bait". Everyone just looked at Yuma.

"Why are you looking at me?" He asked.

"Out of all of us, YOU'RE the fastest runner" said Flip.

"Wha?" Asked Yuma.

Later.

Yuma and the others were out at night looking for the Vampire Lady.

"No way, na-uh, I'm not doing it" said Yuma.

"Come on Yuma", said Bronk. "This'll make us famous".

"I don't care", said Yuma. "I'm not acting as bait".

"Oh, Yuma", said Tori. "If you act as bait, there's chocolate and sprinkles duel fuel with your name on it". Yuma suddenly had a change of heart.

"Okay, I'll do it" said Yuma.

Yuma wondered the dark streets for a while, but nothing happened.

"Oh for god's sake, where is she?", asked Yuma. "I've been out here for nearly an hour". Yuma then heard the sound of a trash can being knocked over. This startled Yuma. Yuma started to look all over the area as the sound of foot steps could be heard all around. After a few minutes, Yuma was no face to face with the Vampire Lady.

"Hello".
