Chapter 3: Castle Town Tour
Luffy's group along with their new friend Link, journey to the Hyrule Kingdom.
It was only half an hour, the group was seemingly bored, due to the walking on foot.
"Aw, are we there?" Luffy whined.
"No..." Zoro answered.
30 minutes later, they came walked up a hill.
"Are we there yet?" Luffy asked.
"Not yet," Robin answered gently.
20 minutes later
"Are we there?" Luffy wondered.
"NO!" Usopp and Zoro shouted comically.
"Geez, is he always like this?" Link questioned.
"Mostly..." Robin giggled quietly.
"Hey Usopp, see if there are any people nearby," Luffy ordered.
"Good idea, for once," Usopp said taking out his goggles and putting them on. "Hm..."
"See anyone yet?" Zoro asked.
"Not yet," Usopp answered, then he saw on a nearby trail was a big fat man, riding on a milk wagon. "Hold, there's a milk delivery guy over!"
He pointed ahead. "I wonder if he give us a ride."
Luffy dashed in a flash towards the man. "Let's go!"
"Man, he's full of energy," Navi said seemingly impressed.
"That's Luffy for," Usopp chuckled a little.
The man delivering the milk was a farmer named Talon. "Snort... I'm tired, as soon as I get my delivery done, I'll take some rest."
"Dad, you know, you're on the job, so we can't delay any further!" A young female child was riding beside the man.
"Sorry Malon, I'm just a little sleepy," Talon yawned.
Malon placed her hands on her hips. "And you always nap as usual!"
"Hey!" A voice called out.
"What in tarnation?!" Talon wondered in surprise.
"Who's that?" Malon asked, looking where the voice came from.
Luffy came running towards on from the right.
"Hello, I'm Monkey D. Luffy, my friends and I are going to Hyrule, can you give us a lift?" He asked.
"Us...?" Talon questioned.
Link, Zoro, Robin, and Usopp finally caught up.
A short time later.
Luffy rode on the horse, while Zoro sat on the left and Robin sat right on the wagon.
Usopp sat on the top of the stacked up crates of milk. "This is better than walking."
Link was amazed at the sights. "This place is huge~!" He took a sip of the bottle of milk. "This is pretty good."
Luffy, Usopp, and Robin took a sip of milk too.
"Geez, I wish we had some boozes," Zoro grumbled.
Malon handed the milk over the moss head man. "sorry sir, but we don't sell that." She pressed the milk bottle against his face. "Come on, you'll need your strength, so drink this for the moment!"
"Fine," Zoro replied reluctantly taking the bottle of milk.
"Anyway, the one at Hyrule Castle, I believe it was "Princess Zelda", wasn't it?" Link questioned.
"Right, and then we give her the Spiritual Stone, level-headed, aren't ya?" Navi replied adding her last sentence in a whispering tone.
"Here we are, this is Hyrule Market!" Talon announced.
They arrived in the market area.
"Whoa, this place is huge!" Luffy exclaimed in amazement.
"Quite impressing place," Robin said with a smile.
"If Nami were here, she would want everything in half-price," Usopp reminded of their navigator's greediness.
"Don't remind us," Zoro groaned placing his hand on his head.
"So many people here too," Link said amazed seeing a lot of citizens.
"The buildings are so huge..." Usopp added. "Then again, we've seen more buildings that were just as huge."
"For once, you got a point," Robin teased with a giggle.
"Navi, which one is the castle?" Link asked.
"I...don't know," Navi replied with a sweatdrop.
"Geez, that's helpful," Zoro grumbled in a sarcastic tone.
Navi started to bounce on the swordsman's head comically. "Gee, you got to be so mean, don't ya!?"
"Ow, ow ow!" Zoro shouted comically.
Link sat on his butt. "I've suddenly gotten so hungry..."
"So am I..." Luffy added.
"Geez, you two are alike in a way," Usopp groaned while face-palming himself.
Shortly later, they decided to sit in a corner of an alleyway. "Let's relax for a bit," Zoro said yawning.
"Anyway, I have a question, what made you guys follow the path of pirates?" Link asked curiously. "I mean pirates are people that go around the seas, stealing treasure, causing havoc, and some bloodshed I assume."
"Uhh... that's little too much information," Navi whispered with a sweatdrop.
"We're just an odd bunch," Usopp replied simply.
"We just have some dreams we want to fulfill," Zoro answered, yawning again. "I want to be the greatest swordswoman in the world."
Link smiled brightly. "That sounds cool, maybe you can teach some swordsmanship skills if you don't mind."
Zoro smirked. "Tch, if I do that I might end up killing you."
Navi tackled the green-haired man on the forehead comically. "That's not funny, don't joke like that, you might scare Link!"
"Ow, ow, ow!" Zoro groaned covering his head. "That's enough, you stop that little fly!"
"I ain't no fly, I'm a Fairy!" Navi protested with an anime vein.
"Something wrong?" A guard asked that was passing by.
Usopp walked up the guard comically while putting his hands out defensively. "No Mr. guard, there's just being idiots!"
"HEY!" Zoro and Navi shouted in unison with anime veins on their heads.
The guard just shrugged and left for the time being.
Link just smiled at the green-haired man. "It's alright, Zoro, I could learn a lot from you, if I want to keep stronger, then I learn some new skills, I think you might be the best man for the job."
Zoro glanced at the captain, who nodded approvingly. "Sigh... Alright, but don't expect me to go easy on you, once we deliver the spiritual stone, we can decide when we can train."
Link raised his arms in excitement. "Alright!"
Luffy patted the fairy boy on the back. "Hey buddy, you got a lot of courage, how about-"
Bonk
"Luffy, this isn't the time to ask that!" Usopp shouted with shark teeth.
"Al-right..." Luffy groaned rubbing the red lump on his head.
Link was puzzled at what was going on, as Robin approached in front of him. "Let's go, we can rest enough."
The fairy boy was about to answer when she bent down, which gave him the ability to see down her cleavage.
"Uhh... I-I-" He stammered blushing red in a comical way.
"Stop thinking about dirty thoughts!" Navi protested tackling the boy on the forehead.
"Huh, what are you talking about?" Link groaned rubbing his forehead with his hand.
Later.
The shopkeeper was selling some food.
"Welcome, welcome, it's cheap!"
Luffy practically drooled at the food, despite it wasn't meat.
"You'll miss out if you don't look!"
"Food!" Link and Luffy said together drooling together.
"Wait-" Usopp tried to grab the two, but they quickly ran to the booth before he could.
Zoro face-palmed. "Oh no..."
"Mmm, this is great!" Link spoke in a mouthful tone.
"Yes, it's not meat, but the bread and sweets are good!" Luffy added eating alike pig.
Just then they stopped as they turned to see a few men with their arms crossed, they didn't look happy.
"Excuse me you two, is one of you going to pay us the money?" One asked.
"Impudent kids," A woman whispered.
"They're thieves," Another girl added.
Robin just giggled, seeing the two are alike in a way.
Link was picked up like a bag.
Luffy was pulled by the ear of one of the shopkeepers, but the moment that happened, his ear stretched out.
"Huh?" The man wandered in confusion but also disbelief.
Getting unwanted due to their recklessness was one thing, but someone seeing's Luffy's ear stretching out like was another.
Link was amazed himself, hearing about Luffy's rubber powers was one thing, but seeing it in person was another. "That's amazing."
Just then his spiritual stone fell out, which the other shopkeeper took. "What's this, this should be worth your troubles."
Link panicked at what the man was holding now. "Aah!" He struggled to get it back. "Wait, that's mine, give it back!"
"If you want it, then give us some-" He stopped as he felt his wrist being gripped.
Luffy then had a glare that made the shopkeeper flinch. "You heard him... give it back."
"Come on, Luffy, we don't want the town to-" Usopp began to whisper nervously at this captain's recklessness.
"Wait!" A female child's voice said.
There stood a beautiful little girl, she seemed to be around Link's age too. "I'll pay for the money, give him back his stone."
With that done, Link was taken by the wrist as the girl dragged him away. "Who are you?" The fairy boy asked taking a little by surprise.
"Forget it, you and your friends follow me!" The girl ordered.
"Like we have a choice!" Usopp agreed.
However Zoro ran the wrong way as usual, but luckily Luffy got him and dragged him away on the ground. "Hey, no need drag me!" He protested comically.
"Sorry, if Luffy does that, you'll get lost again," Usopp joked.
"Shut up!" Zoro shouted with shark teeth.
"Aah, don't kill me!" Usopp pleaded comically.
Robin just giggled on the way.
"They're full energy," Navi whispered at the pirate's energetic strength.
Eventually, the girl took Link and Luffy's group to a fountain explaining where they came from, well the straw hat pirates decided only to tell them they came from far in the sea.
"I see, Link, you come from the forest," The girl said understanding. "You Luffy along with your friends come far away in the sea."
"That's right, though we grew up on different islands in our world," Luffy said accidentally blabbering.
Usopp covered his captain's mouth as soon as he noticed the girl's confused look. "Don't listen to him, he's just an idiot!"
"Anyway, we came here to deliver this stone," Link said holding the Kokiri Spiritual Stone. "I was told to Hyrule Castle and give it to Princess Zelda."
The girl had a faint smile on her head like she knew something. "Hmm... I see."
Robin noticed the look on the girl's face. "Hmm... Could she be-"
Link abruptly got up from the fountain's edge. "Well, we gotta get going to the castle, bye!"
"Yeah, let's go!" Luffy added.
"Hold on!" The girl called. "I'm afraid it won't be that simple, the place is well guarded."
"Aw man, that sucks..." Luffy groaned in disappointment.
"Watch your mouth," Navi whispered.
"What do we do now?" Usopp wondered.
"Hey, will you and your friends play with me all day," The girl requested with a smile
Link and his friends were taken by surprise, except for Robin, the girl continued to speak. "If you guys do, then I'll take you to see Princess Zelda."
That suited well for Link and the others. "Really?"
"She and I are close friends," The girl took out an Ocarina. "Here, I have the proof."
"That's Ocarina..." Navi observed.
"Yeah, it looks like the one that Saria girl gave to Link too," Robin added, she noticed a strange mark on the girl showed. "A weird mark..."
The girl looked to see a woman with a ponytail and pointy ears, she looked like a fighter, she wasn't alone, there were Hylian soldiers behind her too. "You, little boy, have you or your friends seen a noble girl with blonde hair and blue eyes running around here?"
Link was a little nervous at this woman. "N-no I haven't."
Luffy was about to answer as he remembered the little girl. "Wait-" He turned around and the girl that he and the others were talking to was done.
The girl was hiding on the other side of the water fountain with acting all sneaky, with that the strange woman walked away with the soldiers.
"Thanks!" The girl came out of her hiding spot, grabbed Link by his wrist. "Let's go there's an awesome store over there!"
Navi was unsure about this. "Hey, Link, you guys, is this okay, this girl is weird."
Usopp agreed too. "Yeah, what if she's a monster in disguise working this dark red-haired that the old tree guy mentioned?"
"But... she said that she could get us to see the princess," Link said, seemingly not agreeing with their concerns.
"Yeah, besides, maybe we can give some food too," Luffy added seeing no problem the strange little girl.
Then a bashful look formed on Link's face. "And she's cute too!"
"Ugh, you're too sweet with her!" Navi protested with an anime vein.
Zoro groaned in annoyance. "Please, not another Sanji."
Robin just giggled at the funny face that the fairy boy was making. "Aw, he's in love."
Just then the girl came with a bag full of strange toy-like heads. "I bought this much~!"
"Huh?!" Link exclaimed.
Luffy, Zoro, and Usopp were in total disbelief. "Is she rich?!"
Robin just giggled again.
"I got them from the owner, he said "You're such a cute little girl" Heh...heh..."
The others except for Robin just sweat drop in a blank expression.
Soon they came to another shop.
"The Bombchu Bowling..." Usopp read.
"What's that?" Link questioned.
"Don't ask me," Luffy replied with an obvious smile.
"Nobody did," Zoro and Navi said with a sigh.
"Either way, let's try it out," Robin suggested.
Link placed a Bombchu in front and hit the bull-eye. "Whee~! That was fun!"
Usopp laughed. "That was nothing, check me out!"
Despite the sniper being only good at aim with his slingshot, he was able to hit a bull-eye too. "That's me captain Usopp, the greatest target guy in the world!"
"Let me try," Zoro took a Bombchu, however...
Usopp went pale, seeing the swordsman placing the bombchu at the entrance's door. "Wait, Zoro, no-"
Too late the bomb went right into the door.
BOOM
"Hey!" The female owner protested. "What kind of aim do you have!?"
Zoro felt embarrassed. "Huh?"
"You aimed the wrong way stupid!" Navi shouted angrily.
Things got worse when Luffy tried the game himself. "I'm going to use more Bombchu's!" He was carrying at least ten of them too.
"No, Luffy, don't do that-" Usopp pleaded to try to stop his captain.
"Off you all go!"
Everyone went pale except for Robin.
The bombs blew up on the walls, some chickens, and the bull's-eye. "I got it!" Luffy cheered with a huge grin.
"YOU IDIOT!" Zoro, Navi, and Usopp shouted comically with anime veins on their heads, covered in smoke due to the bombs.
"That's our Luffy," Robin giggled.
The blonde girl just stared. "He's quite full of energy,"
The Archeologist giggled again. "He's always like that, we have to deal with his craziness a lot, but he's a good person and loyal to his friends."
The girl smiled at the detail. "Yes, I can tell, he's a got pure heart."
Robin was surprised to hear that from someone so young especially a child.
Later they went to a sniper game.
"This is my kind of game!" Usopp said with a smile.
"I challenge you, Usopp!" Link taking out his slingshot.
The two had a competition, both tied but got to some rupees as a prize.
Link got to try on a mask that had rabbit ears, the girl had a mysterious mask, while Luffy had a Gordo mask.
Usopp had a scary wooden mask. "Ooh, I'm scary..."
"This is cool!" Luffy shouted excitedly.
"No joke, we usually don't get to enjoy much fun without the Navy chasing us," Usopp agreed.
Robin giggled. "Yes, this place is someplace pirates like us can enjoy."
Zoro smiled a little. "Yeah, I guess so, but I want some action."
Link opened the door to the mask shop, but when he did, night had arrived. "It's night already?" He asked in surprise.
"Time sure goes fast when you have fun," Robin commented.
"Besides that, we had a lot of fun," Luffy grinned with a chuckle.
"Yeah, I did have fun too," The gang looked at the blonde girl, who looked sad all of the sudden.
"Hey, why the long face?" Usopp wondered.
The girl took off the rabbit ears she had too. "The day... is over..." She frowned sadly. "Thank you all for today."
The girl leaned on the water fountain's edge. "Just for today, I wanted to pay for things myself, and play on my own."
She looked sad for a moment but a small smile formed on her face. "Just like normal girls..."
"Sounds like she doesn't get out much," Usopp guessed.
"That's pretty lame," Luffy added. "I'd go nuts if I was stuck in the same place."
Link could see that too, then he had an idea. "Oh my name, it's Link!" The girl looked at the fairy boy, who was smiling at her.
Luffy grinned. "I'm Monkey D. Luffy."
Zoro chuckled a little. "I'm Roronoa Zoro."
Usopp did a thumbs up. "I'm Usopp, nice to meet ya!"
Robin smiled kindly at the little girl. "I'm Nico Robin!"
"Let's play together again sometime," Link suggested excitedly.
The girl was taken by surprise, but before she could answer, Luffy and Zoro sensed danger nearby and came in close.
"Look out!" The two warned.
Then came three strange women that dressed like the amazon, but they weren't the ones that Luffy mentioned before.
"Who are you jerks?" Luffy asked with a glare.
"Quiet little boy, we know who that girl is!" One of them spoke pointing her blade at the girl.
The girl was frightened, Robin noticed this. "Is she the-"
But before she could process the situation, the little girl fled away.
"Think you can run!?" One of the masked women tried to get the girl.
Out nowhere Luffy blocked the sword with his fist.
"No Luffy!" Link screamed, but to his surprise, there was blood on his fist.
"Is that all?" The straw hat captain asked.
"He stopped my sword with his fist," The masked woman asked in confusion.
"My turn, Gum-Gum Pistol!" He pulled back his arm which stretched out and he extended it forward, his fist went right into the woman's stomach, sending her crashing into a building.
Another tried to attack the girl, but Link stopped her with his Kokiri Sword.
"Who are these brats?" The woman wondered.
The third woman then turned her head. "Somebody is coming!" The mysteries women retreated while carrying away her defeated comrade.
"After them!" Link ordered.
"Yeah, let's get their asses!" Luffy proclaimed.
"Geez, watch your mouth!" Navi protested.
The girl safely got away, then was approached by the same woman she tried to hide from before. "Princess."
The girl was taken by surprise but a look of relief formed on her face. "Impa." She called the woman.
The woman just smiled. "I'm glad you're safe, but it's time to return to the castle."
The girl who was the princess was a little sad, but she smiled in agreement. "Right..."
The others returned to the water fountain, but the girl, or rather princess was no longer there.
"Where'd that girl go?" Link wondered looking around.
"Ugh, ditched us and left to go home no doubt," Navi groaned. "Girls are pretty fickle."
"But you're a girl too, aren't you?" Luffy questioned.
"Don't compare to her!" Navi shouted comically with steam coming out of her.
Link noticed something on the ground. "This Ocarina..." He picked up, looking at for a moment.
"Let's go to the castle, that girl is sure to be there!" Navi stated.
The others weren't listening. "This is one is like the one Saria gave to you, Link." Usopp pointed out.
"Yes, but hers doesn't have a mark like this one," Link agreed.
Out the Hyrule Plains.
Sanji and the others just arrived through the plains, at the time the night was falling where they were too. "Geez, this a long walk." Nami groaned.
"Yes, my feet are killing me, oh wait, that can't happen because I'm already dead!" Brook joked. "Yo-ohohohoh!"
"Anyway, I suggest we stay here for the night, we'll need our strength," Franky suggested carrying a bag full of cola.
"Yeah, so I'll cook up some soap," Sanji said. "Then after that, we'll just get some sleep."
A man was running through the night.
Chopper heard him due to his animal hearing. "Hey, someone is running towards us."
Nami looked ahead. "Oh, it's a person, maybe he can give us directions, excuse me!"
The man stopped and fell on his butt. "Oh, you surprised, can I help you, ma'am?"
That's when the others were approached by the Navigator.
"Yes, we're looking for Hyrule Castle, do you where that is?" She asked.
The man chuckled. "Oh, Hyrule Castle I just came out there not too long ago, it's just over that hill, you should wait, the cross-bridge is up for the night, so you won't be able to get in until morning."
"That sucks," Franky groaned.
"Wait, you said that just came from there, can you tell us anything else like if un-usual happening there?" Nami asked again.
"Oh, there group that was causing some scenes, on top of that, two boys ate some food from a few shopping booths, neither of them had money to pay," The man laughed at the memory of it.
"Can you describe the two boys?" Sanji asked though he had a guess who one of them was.
"One looked like Kokiri, those are children from the Forest, however, there was a black haired woman, a green-haired man, long-nose man, and there was another young man with a Strawhat," The man described.
"Luffy, Robin, Zoro, and Usopp!" Chopper and Franky shouted in realization.
"Figures, wonder what Luffy did this time," Sanji groaned.
"That's all we need, thank you," Nami said gesturing her friends to follow her, which they did.
"Good grief, can Luffy do anything without causing a scene for once?" Sanji questioned. "Especially putting my sweet Robin in danger!"
"Forget that, let's get the bridge, it may be closed, but at least we can go inside there without any problems!" Franky stated.
"Right, but we'd better keep a low profile, especially you Brook, if the people see a skeleton walking around, you can be sure that might scare them," Chopper said.
"Geez, that breaks my heart, if I had one!" Brook joked. "Yo-ohohoh!"
"Stop clowning around, let's get going!" Sanji shouted.
Early in the morning.
At Hyrule Castle
The throne room.
Princess Zelda was talking to her father. "Father, please don't meet with that man, I beg of you!"
"Is this about your dream again?" The king asked in annoyance. "Stop this nonsense, this is an era of peace!"
The king walked abruptly, leaving his daughter in silence.
Link and his friends came to the front gate. "Here's the castle."
"How can we get in?" Usopp wondered. "As the girl said, it's well guarded."
"Yes, we can't fight either, if we do that, we'll cause attention to ourselves," Robin agreed.
Luffy had a suggestion. "Link, you're with me this time, you three go on and do what can you do."
"Huh?" Zoro and Usopp wondered in confusion.
"I think I agree," Everyone looked at Robin. "It'd be safe for only two to go inside, if there are more of us, the chances of us getting caught are great."
"Well, I suppose we can take look around the town, who knows the rest of our friends might be here by now," Usopp said.
"Well, I guess, there's no fighting, what a pain," Zoro grumbled.
"Anyway, you two go on ahead, we'll just look around town for a while, then we'll meet you both outside the draw bridge," Robin explained the plan.
Link and Luffy nodded.
The two climbed the vine cliff, the two came to the moat, due to Luffy's devil fruit, he wasn't able to swim, luckily it wasn't too deep, so Link was able to drag him to shore.
Nearby was part of the fence that was made of metal and was black too. "Hmm..." Luffy thought, then he grinned. "I got an idea!"
Luffy wrapped his arm around Link. "What are you doing?" Navi wondered having a bad feeling.
"Let's fly over!" Luffy shouted.
"Hush, you idiot, the guards will hear us!" Navi whispered while hushing the straw hat captain.
"Gum-Gum-Rocket!" Luffy projected himself and Link over the wall, then they began to fall into a secret garden, and they crashed in the small moat around it.
"That was fun!" Luffy cheered splashing some water.
"You idiot, you could've gotten us killed!" Navi protested dashing against the pirate's forehead. "Geez, are you this reckless?"
"Sorry..." Luffy groaned rubbing his head.
Up ahead, there was a girl, looking through a large window. "Link, Luffy, I haven't you two my name yet though, it's a pity that your other friends couldn't make it here..."
Luffy was puzzled as usual, but Link was able to recognize the girl's voice. "Y-you're...!"
His guess was right, it was the same girl he and his friends met in Castle Town.
"You're the little girl from before!" Luffy shouted out comically.
"Geez, mind your manners around a princess!" Navi lectured at the pirate's lack of manners.
Link however was enchanted than he was before, she was more beautiful than before.
Navi saw her partner's face, so she began to nudge at the fairy boy's head. "Link..."
"Oh right!" The fairy boy snapped out of his trance as he began to search his pocket.
Luffy chuckled even though he didn't know why Link was acting so strange. "You're really funny!"
So far Link and Luffy's group had fun in Castle Town, now Luffy and Link went to go see the Princess, who's the same girl they met in the town, Sanji's group is getting closer, but will they reunite with Zoro and the others, find out next time.
