Chapter 5: Ducky gets kidnapped

Later that night, over the Swimmer nest, Ducky was not feeling well. She was upset about Petrie and what happened yesterday.

"Oh Spike." She said to him. "I am not feeling well."

Spike grunted in which Ducky can understand.

"No. I am not sick. I am worried about Petrie. Friends should not make friends feel so bad. No no no. I am going to find Petrie. I am going to make things alright."

Without another word, Ducky set off to find him. Spike smiled at his sisters kindness for Petrie before going back to sleep.

Ducky continued to make her way over to Petrie's nest. But when she got hath way there,

"Sierra." Came Pterano's voice.

Ducky gasped as she climbed over a sleeping Longneck from the Far-walkers and saw Pterano talking to Sierra and Rinkus.

"Settle down will you?."

"Why should I?" Sierra asked. "All you're making us do is sit around here and do nothing. We should be hath way to the Smoking Mountains right about now."

"Yes. With hath the herd right on our tail." Pterano pointed out.

"What makes you think they'll come after us?" Sierra asked, still angry.

"The young ones have told their parents that they have seen me. If we leave in a hurry, they'll subspect we're up to no good."

"We are up to no good." Said Rinkus.

"No! I work for the greater good! My perpus is novel! They have never understood. But soon, I will prove I am right! Until then we must be careful. We will leave with the rest of the Far-walkers once The Night Circle starts to shrink."

Sierra just grunted before walking away.

"And then we will find The Stone Of Cold Fire yes?" Rinkus asked.

"Yes. And I shale take my place as rightful leader of the herd. And I will rule over the most beautiful furtile land in the world. The Great Valley."

"Oh no no no." Said Ducky. "I must tell Littlefoot and Chomper."

Ducky then slid off the Longneck and then slowly backed away before any of the Flyers saw her before making her way to Littlefoot's nesting ground. But before she could,

"Kind of late for walk isn't it?"

Ducky turned around to see who it was. It was Sierra, making her scream as he grabbed her with his foot.

"What was that?" Rinkus asked before Sierra flew by with Ducky.

"We got ourselves a little spy." He said.

"Well, that forces me to make a small change in our flight plan." Said Pterano.

"AAAHHH!"

Ducky's scream was loud enough to wake up Littlefoot and Chomper.

"AAHH!"

"Ducky!" Both of them shouted.

"I am not a Flyer!" She shouted as the Flyers took off with her. "AAAAHHHH!"

The Far-walkers also woke up by the sounds of screaming.

"What was that?"

"What is it?"

"What's going on?"

"FAST-BITERS!"

Littlefoot and Chomper quickly ran past the croud of panicing dinosaurs looking for Fast-biters without stopping for anything. By then, they had reached Petrie's nest.

"Help help help!"

Petrie woke up as Ducky's call for help got him to look up to see Pterano and the other Flyers making their way. But didn't know it was them.

"Ducky? Where she go?"

"Where ever your uncle and the other Flyers are taking her." Chomper said as he and Littlefoot arrived.

"No!" Petrie shouted in anger as he flew to their faces. "You wrong! Uncle Pterano never do that!"

"No Petrie." Mama Flyer said as she poked her head out of the cave and down the ledge. "It's true. It is Pterano."

"No." Petrie whispered before taking off to them.

"Petrie wait." Mama Flyer said to him. But he didn't listen.

Meanwhile, Pterano and the other Flyers had gotten to the Sky-puffies. Just as Ducky's struggling made Sierra bump into Rinkus.

"Watch where you're going."

"You think this is easy? How about you carry her?!"

"STOP!" Petrie shouted as he cought up. "Pterano. Make mean Flyer let Ducky go!"

"Petrie listen to me." Pterano said to him. "Tell the others not to follow and no harm will come to the Swimmer."

"Me no understand why you do this."

"Non of your consern you little!" Rinkus shouted as he slapped Petrie. "Now buzz off!"

With another slap, Petrie began to lose flight.

"Petrie!" Ducky shouted she watched him fall to the lake below.

Rinkus couldn't help but laugh until Pterano slapped his beak.

"If there's one thing I will not acept, it's vilance."

"Then why are you hitting me?" Rinkus asked.

"Right. Make that two things. Vilance and stupid questions." Pterano said before slapping Rinkus again.

Petrie continued to fall all the to watering-hole before he landed with a SPLASH!

Without thinking, Littlefoot dashed to the watering-hole and leaped in. And then he swam to where Petrie had landed before diving in. And not too long after, he emerged with Petrie on his head.

Now all they could was watch Pterano and the others carry Ducky away.

"Help help help."

The next morning, everyone was gathered up at Council Rock as Littlefoot and Chomper and Mama Flyer explained what happened last night. A lot of the Far-walkers were upset about what happened to Ducky.

"Look! Those Flyers have taken my daughter!" Ducky and Spike's father shouted at Mama Flyer. "And I want her back before anything else happens!"

"Oh don't worry Mr. Swimmer. My brother may be many bad things. But I'm sure he'll never let those other Flyers harm her."

"Bah! We couldn't trust him before and we can't trust him now." Said Topps.

Meanwhile, Littlefoot, Chomper, Ruby, Cera, and Spike with his own way of comuticating, told Petrie everything that Pterano did last time.

"But he right. It not his fault others not know how to fly away."

"Never or less, it was his fault they got into such danger." Said Littlefoot.

"Yeah. Not only that, my mother and sisters were with them." Cera said upset. "They never made it to The Great Valley and it's all your uncles fault!"

"I'm sorry Petrie. But we weren't with them when it all happened." Said Littlefoot.

Now Petrie was really upset. His friends were telling him the truth all along and because he refused to believe, he felt responsible for what happened to Ducky.

"I know we're all upset about last time." Said Papa Swimmer. "But please. Somebody has to go and rescue my little Ducky."

"Littlefoot. Chomper." Mama Flyer said to them. "I need you two to tell us where that flying-rock landed."

"Oh not this nonsense again." Said Topps.

"Wether or not I believe there is such a thing as a Stone Of Cold Fire, that is where they will go. Am I right?"

"Uh, yeah. My point exactly."

"Go on children. Tell us." Said Bowser.

Littlefoot and Chomper gasped in excitment. But later, they and the others were seen outside of Council Rock with both of them annoyed that after they told them where the stone landed, it only lead them to arguing with Topps once again.

"We told them where the flying-rock is." Said Littlefoot.

"Why won't they go?" Chomper asked.

"Oh this all my fault." Said Petrie.

"You can say that again." Said Cera.

"Why. If me say it again it only make me feel worser."

"That's the basic idea."

"We can't wait any longer." Said Chomper. "We have to go after Ducky ourselves."

"Aren't you forgetting Chomper?" Cera asked. "My dad said the Smoking Mountains are off limits."

"Yeah. Grown-ups be real mad if we gone." Said Petrie.

"By the time the grown-ups are done arguing, we'll be back again." Said Littlefoot. "They won't even know we were gone."

"Even if we catch up to the Flyers, what will we do then?" Ruby asked.

"We don't know." Said Chomper. "But Littlefoot's grandpa told us to trust our instinks. And our instinks tells us we gotta do something."

Spike grunted in his way of syaing he wanted to go and save Ducky. As he ran on, the others looked at the image of her that he made in the dirt.

"Oh Ducky." Said Petrie.

"Let's do it." Said Cera.

"Wait for us Spike. For us, wait." Said Ruby.

With that said, the gang began another trip by themselves into The Mysterious Beyond. But little did they know that some certent Rainbow Faces were watching them.

"I told you the young ones were portential. Especially Littlefoot and Chomper." Said Hank. "You think we should go just to supervize them?"

"That'll be helping them. And you know that isn't aloud." Said Linda.

"I know. I didn't think supervizing them counts as helping."

"Oh it does."
