~Author's Note~
A little piece about Hoshiro getting dressed for cold weather, in her characteristic way. It could be a "missing scene" from before Perfect Cherry Blossom. Either way, I hope you enjoy another glimpse inside the Forever Champion's fashion sense.
~Chapter 4 and a Bit: Dressed to Impress~
~OR: A Hoshiro Short in which she Doesn't Wear Shorts~
Snow was pouring down from cold grey skies, a whirl of white fluff that draped itself like a blanket over the land. Hoshiro felt its chill with her nose pressed against the window. She turned away from the wall, glowing with excitement, and skipped to the wardrobe.
It was clearly the wrong weather for shorts, so she dug out a fluffy red jumper and slid it over her vest. Then some pink dungarees, scuffed with soil and decorated with yellow forks of lightning, which she tucked into her heavy boots. She buckled them tightly and stomped across to her shelf of hats, where after five minutes' rummaging she chose a pink top hat and slid it over her horns.
Last came the gloves, which she tucked inside her sleeves. Hoshiro examined herself in the mirror and huffed in disappointment. "Not sexy enough. What's missing?..."
After a moment's heavy contemplation, she returned to the wardrobe and pulled out a long-sleeved shirt. She tied the scarlet sleeves around her waist and let the shirt dangle behind like half a cape. She rummaged in her front pocket for a tube of red lipstick and, scowling with concentration, painted a couple of sharp streaks under her eyes.
Returning to the mirror, Hoshiro tried out a few heroic poses and did a little twirl. "Perfect!" she yelled, clapping her hands. "Ready for adventure!"
