Kagome excused herself after they recessed. She was already overwhelmed by the unexpected visit by InuYasha.
She wandered off from everyone and ended up in the fortress gardens. She glanced over at her deceased husband's memorial.
From her side view, she noticed that a certain Northern princess headed her way. She stood and began to walk towards the opposite entrance, not wanting to be confronted… As usual the Inu princess had other ideas.
"Kagome-san, perfect, just the person I was looking for, i just wanted to discuss some important things" she said with such a tone that Kagome knew.
"Miyuki, no discussions outside of session, you cannot convince me why you are better suited for the position without the presence of the lords" she bit back trying to walk away.
"Inuyasha, was the first known half breed of a cardinal lord… and he had no protection from birth as his father passed away on the night he was born… " she stated while staring at the memorial.
Kagome felt a sting of anger, was she trying to bait her?
"Sesshomaru-sama in a roundabout way protected from the other lords but it took some time before he managed to gain their respect on his own by defeating that nuisance Naraku, but he would never inherit his father's mantle, even if someone happened to Milord…" she continued, waiting for Kagome to turn around.
Kagome turned, slowly towards her, face as cold as her emotions.
"Your future children wouldn't inherit anything. My son will inherit the West one day and you'd be better off wherever you come from, Miko '' she declared confidently.
Kagome took two steps threateningly towards her before a blur step in between them,
Naoki had arrived just in time, because Kagome wanted to cause some damage as the tips of her fingers started to buzz with pure pink power.
He quickly glared at his sister before gracefully pulling Kagome away, back inside where he located Sesshoumaru in the foyer, looking pensive.
Feeling Kagome's fear and anger, he decided to remind the younger lord.
"Naoki, I shouldn't need to remind you that we are in the middle of negotiations and to warn your sister that she is to keep her mouth shut outside of the meeting till tomorrow's final agreement is signed" Sesshoumaru warned her sternly before escorting his mate away.
Kagome looked at him with apologetic eyes but allowed her mate to escort her back upstairs for a much needed rest.
Safe in their offices, Sesshoumaru lifted her prickly pink hands and barely winced at her power.
"You can calm down now, love…. Miyuki is not allowed to ambush you again… what did she say?" he asked her.
"She tried to convince me that when you die or pass on the title that her child will inherit the West as no half breed would ever inherit a demon's domain" she recalled to him bitterly.
"Indeed her child may be given the title heir as they will be first born and it is true that InuYasha wouldn't have inherited the West in the place of my death but that's only because Father died on the night he was born and couldn't ensure a place for him in demon society and I couldn't influence it being his older half brother. The difference is that I can ensure places for our future children and so they will not be left without protection and respect by others even though they will be part human." Sesshoumaru explained while promising her that their future children would live different sorts of lives compared to InuYasha whose circumstances were vastly different.
A/N:Oh what they both don't realize quite yet but you guys already do XD . sometimes Miyuki reminds me of Kikyo and reminding her all the time of what Kagome wouldn't never be able to do when it came to the jewel and InuYasha… it was nice when Kikyo accepted that Kagome held a more important place in his life compared to her and let him go at the end, even though it was still sad :( As always feel free to leave a follow, like, kudos' and comment/review on whichever platform you are reading.
