Author's note 1:

Alright, then.

We get in some action at last.

"You know what, monkey? I'm starting to almost regret your choice. This place is creepy…"

William chose a place to park his vehicle and stopped to stare at the entrance of the pizzeria he was going to work at through the window.

An insigna flashed with bright colours, indicating the name it held. On the top, there were four figures drawn: a bear, a bunny, a chicken and a fox.

Reading the history of this place, he was surprised by the amount of people waiting to enter. A moderate number.

And it was only Wednesday. How many people would this place attract on the weekends?

He stepped outside and adjusted his clothes, wanting to appear presentable to the owner or manager.

"I cannot comprehend your fear for a family friendly place like this, Clarence. Anyway, I won't be able to answer your questions or comments directly, people might consider me crazy if I talked to myself."

"Uh, hello? I am in your head! I can hear your thoughts too."

He started walking towards the entrance. "I still need to concentrate on the task."

"But where would be the fun if I didn't annoy you?"

He groaned one last time and patiently waited in line with the other families.

Whatever.

"There! I'm glad we could reach an agreement, monkey."

Thankfully Clarence settled back in his mind, appearing only as a small fragment. At least he wouldn't have to deal with him for the time being.

When he was his turn, he approached the entrance and found a man stopping him.

"Sir, can you state your business? I see you have no family members with you."

Ah, classic security for a place like this.

"Pretty useless if you're charismatic enough." Clarence was so right.

"I'm here to talk with the manager, or owner. I'm here to apply for the nightguard position, my name is William Buchanon." The guard watched him for a moment before going inside the building, he was back in five minutes.

"Alright, sir. The owner is waiting for you in his office…" He pointed behind him. "…just walk for the main room where the stage is and go forward."

He nodded. "Thank you."

A faint music and various children settling for their seats was heard by William as he walked.

He saw them near their tables, waiting for the band to come on the stage. William supposed that if he remained there he would have been marked as a pedophile, the last thing he wanted. Though he would have liked to take a closer look at the animatronics and check their modern technology.

"Gross! Get on with it will ya?"

He shook his head and knocked on the door, it was opened to reveal Andrew Poulter on the other side.

"Ah! I take it you must William Buchanon, right?" He extended his hand. "Name's Andrew Poulter."

The young man nodded and shook the offered hand. "A pleasure to meet you, sir."

Andrew motioned for him to enter and waved his fingers behind him. "No 'sir' is need, William. Just call me Andrew."

He slumbered in his seat and William took one too in front of the desk. "So, you're here for the job, right?"

At a nod, Andrew took out a contract and handed it to the young man. "Here's the thing. I'll just have to ask you if you can defend yourself in case a thief breaks in. That's the main requirement for the job."

"I know how to punch someone Andrew, I suppose that's enough?" The owner laughed at the joke.

"Yeah, you know how to use a taser?"

William nodded.

"Well, aside from not sleeping on the job or stealing anything, I am sure you have everything needed."

William squinted his eyes for a moment. "Would you mind if I take a look at this? I want to make sure there are no hidden clauses or any surprises when I sign."

Andrew shrugged. "You're smart, go ahead."

There wasn't anything special… just a normal contract for a temporarily job under management.

He took a pen from the desk and quickly signed it, giving it back to Andrew.

"Perfect! Now, unfortunately most of our funds went to the structuring of this place and to the animatronics, their movements are more natural and not so mechanical…" He smirked. "…high tech, you know? So, your office is equipped with two doors on each side, they are very durable and strong. But! Since we still need a proper power source, during the night you will have limited electricity to close them. In fact, if a thief breaks in and you are in danger without a weapon, close yourself in. But watch out for power. We should have a normal generator by the end of the month."

"That doesn't sound very reassuring…"

"Anyway, I will show you the office tomorrow. You'll start by then…" Some childish screams echoed behind the door. "Uh, looks like the band is ready for performance. Would you like to take a look? You'll see what you'll need to guard at night."

William rose from his seat and marched. "Sure, I am very curious about their technology, Andrew. I think it would satasfy my curiosity if I saw them."

Red curtains slowly retreated, like in a circus, the kids screamed in excitement.

From there, three figures stepped on the stage, William leaned on a wall with his new boss and crossed his arms. Interest radiating from Clarence.

The first one was a brown bear with a black bow tie and a black hat on his head, akin to a magician's hat. 'He' held a microphone in his right paw. No stains, no trash marks on his synthetic fur, he was perfectly functioning and not glitching.

The second one was a purple bunny with a red bow tie. 'He' held a black, white and red guitar. Perfectly preserved as the bear, with a white circle on his belly.

The third and final one was a yellow chicken. A childish bib wrapped around her neck with a "LET'S EAT!" insigna written on it.

They walked at the center of the stage and William was amazed by the refined movements of the animatronics. They almost looked like humans, although a robotic undertone as of course visible.

Even Clarence whistled. "Alright, I have to give ya monkeys my compliments. They feel almost real…"

"Hey, everyone! My name is Freddy, Freddy Fazbear!" A chorus of applauses from the children forced the animatronic bear to pause for a moment. This caused William to raise an eyebrow, so they actually understood when to stop speaking instead of saying an entire sentence in one hit?

"I am very pleased to see these much participants after all this time! Although I won't be alone in this, so let's give an applause to my old friends!"

After another chorus of screams, the bunny stepped forward. "Hi, everybody! I am Bonnie! Bonnie the Bunny. I am sure many of your parents remember who I was and I hope I will be able to give the same good time to you all."

Finally the chicken stepped forward. "Hello boys and girls! I'm Chica! Chica the Chicken. When the band will play for you, I will come off the stage every now and then to check your experience with our pizzas! 'Let's eat!'" Of course she ended her transition with her quote.

"Yeah, they are still creepy, monkey."

Indeed.

"I am sure some of you are wondering where our dear Foxy is hiding at!" Many heads turned to look at another stage wrapped with purple curtains, stars on them. "He is currently preparing himself for the show and he will come out tomorrow! We will take the lead for now, but don't worry! Foxy the Pirate Fox will soon guide you in many of his pirate adventures!"

After many other cheers, the band started playing some songs.

Andrew tapped his shoulder. "We still have some apply some fixes on Foxy. We do not want another Bite of 87 encounter, even if Foxy himself did not do it."

"Heya, monkey? Can we get out of here?"

"Andrew, I'm going to get some sleep for the day and clean my house. I shall see you tomorrow."

As he marched for the exit, he could have sworn he saw the animatronics watching him from the distance.

Even Clarence had a bad feeling about them…

Trapped…

They still trapped inside these lifeless suits.

They were free for all this time, although still trying to access the eternal rest in Heaven.

But the reconstruction of the franchise and the new vessels created forced them back in this cursed place.

And they were beyond angry. They were furious.

But as they watched the children's screams of joy for their arrival, they supposed they could pretend for now even if their sentences were pre-recorded for the day.

And that's when they saw him.

They knew he was dead, trapped in the Springtrap suit and then burned down by Henry.

How was it possible for him to return? In a human body of all things?!

He appeared even younger than they remembered. But the memories of their screams of agony and pain and suffering suppressed whatever questions they held.

It did not matter how he was still alive.

All that mattered now, was to butch him. To make him pay.

And if he returned again they would continue this cycle. Because they had to save the other children from harm, from him.

They understood that he talked to the new owner of the franchise and he was now applying for the night guard position. Their perfect opportunity!

They would wait for him, play with him. And then kill him.

Perhaps stuffing him in a suit again, so that he may live through the agony he already witnessed.

Thousands of different ways washed upon their ghostly minds.

But one thing was for sure.

William Afton would pay.
