Chuck wasn't "God" anymore, but it didn't matter to Him. His true happiness was just down the river fishing for their dinner. Its been a few years now, and both Chuck and Dean were living quietly in their cabin. Chuck saw his grey hair and beard, he even saw a few more wrinkles. But it didn't matter. He been "young" and perfect since the Beginning. He actually didn't mind, He liked growing old. Especially with His true soulmate just down the stream.
"Hey God! Got us a big one! We'll be eating big tonight!" Dean whooped as he pulled in the fish. "Hurry and take a picture!"
Chuck smiled and picked up the camera.
"Don't drop it." That fish was squirming hard. "Smile!"
Later that night, Chuck and Dean were watching television, their bellies full from that fish Dean caught earlier. They sat together, always wanting to be close. When Dean kissed Him on the lips, he suggested that they move things to the bedroom.
Chuck allowed Dean to take His hand. Once they were alone, Dean started taking his clothes off.
"Wait."
"What." Dean had his shirt off.
Chuck liked being with Dean physically, He invented sex so every species can enjoy themselves. He wasn't a virgin in an organic way, but there was something that He never shared with anyone before.
"Dean, was there anyone you would have been with other than Me?"
Dean was taken aback by the question.
"What do You mean?" These was Lisa, Dean thought of her often. But he had no choice but to let her and Ben go. His first love Cassie, she was the first one Dean truly opened his heart to. There was the countless women he slept with, but there was none Dean could think of the top of his head. There was Sam, but he was a brother.
Chuck looked embarrassed.
"You heard of soulmates."
"Yeah. So?"
"When two people truly care about one another, they share a profound bound. Tell me. Did Castiel ever make you feel that way?"
Dean didn't say anything. He cared about Cas, and was devastated when he was killed after telling Dean his true happiness. He drank himself into blackness before Sam and Jack found him. Everyday he thought about what Cas said. He sacrificed himself to save Dean's life.
When Dean didn't say a word, Chuck wisely dropped it.
"Dean, when two soulmates meet, they can share something special. Really special. Love, it doesn't have to be physical." Sensing Dean's confusion. Chuck holds out His hand. "Look, it's better that I show you. Trust Me. Nothing will prepare what I am going to give you."
Dean didn't know what to expect. But he trusted Chuck.
"Close your eyes. Open yourself to Me. Open your heart. Open yourself."
It took Dean a minute to process what Chuck said, but he tried to understand what He was saying. Chuck's words was soothing.
"Let yourself go. Your physical body. Your thoughts. Your mind. Your emotions. Let them go. Let Me in."
When Dean slowed his breathing down, he couldn't believe it.
"Where are we?'' There was nothing there, but also everything. Dean was One with everything and everyone. Every particle, every emotion, every person that ever existed. Dean never felt such Joy. "Is this You?''
"It's Everything. You, Me, Dean. This is what I want to show you.''
Dean had no words. He felt, no, experienced Creation, Destruction, Rebirth. Love, Hate, Joy, Sorrow, Wisdom, Innocence, Pain, Pleasure, Rest, Hard Work. Nothing Dean ever experienced on Earth what Chuck was showing him.
"My God." Beautiful wasn't a word. He felt Chuck's Love. His Heart. Dean never felt so Euphoric. "Where am I?''
"You are in your room. But also not. Dean, this is how Soulmates meet. You are One with Me."
"Amara, is this how the souls She ate, is it like This?'' Dean was just a name John and Mary called a man named Dean Winchester.
"Kinda. It's different for them. You and Her were almost like This. I'm glad you waited. She must be happy She is with You too."
The soul was One along with his soulmate. Great Joy, Being One.
When the man named Dean Winchester woke up in his body, he was staring at Chuck.
Chuck was smiling at Dean.
"That's how Celestial Beings love. I wanted to show you that."
Dean just blinked. Heaven was a dump compared to Where he went. Castiel, now he understood. He gave himself to Cas. Cas, he was joyous. Sam, Sam was happy Dean came to visit. His former loves, they are content.
"Dean." He walked up to the man with the big heart. "You will never be alone again.''
Castiel was smiling with tears down his vessel's face. Dean answered his wish.
Amara was smiling in Her coffee. Her Brother, He gave Dean what he needed.
Sam was crying. Not with sorrow, but with happiness. Dean, he is always around.
The soul that was formally known as Dean Winchester was One with Everything and Everyone. When the soul went back to the human body known as Dean, he was staring at Chuck.
"That is what being God is like. Everyone you ever loved, lost, they will forever be there with you."
"I thought Jack was God."
"He is. But you are different. You are a gift."
Now Dean understood.
"Thank you."
