Dorian Pavus gave a sigh as he stared around him at this masquerade ball that he had just arrived at, the ball hosted by the Inquisition and arranged by Josephine, probably to serve to distract everyone from the looming crisis that Solas had brought upon them all.

Solas had betrayed them all, the elf who had once been a good friend and ally in the Inquisition was now their enemy.

As this was a masquerade event Dorian was wearing a mask, it was a detailed and exquisite looking one, a design common in Antivian nobility. Each attendee of the masquerade event had been given a random mask upon arriving. It was of a bright blue colour and it was decorated with little jewels and feathers. The masks varied with each guest wearing a different design of mask. Dorian's mask started from just above his eyebrows, had eye holes and ended just below his nose.

Dorian dressed in clothes of peacock blue walked confidently more inside of the ball venue, he could see people he knew, even disguised by masks, and in the distance within sight there was a couple of long tables which had food and drink for people to help themselves to.

It seemed that Josephine had hired some caterers as Dorian could see at least a couple of sharply dressed fellows wandering around and offering food and drink to guests.

Thinking he might have a drink of wine and then maybe a bit of something to eat he walked towards one of the caterers, took a wine glass off a tray and then went towards the tables of food.

There was music playing that he was ignoring for the time being, though he did have to admire it a bit, it didn't sound terrible.

Dorian grabbed a plate of food, not a heavy amount mind you, but just enough to nibble on while he drank wine and maybe he would try to find his friends. The Iron Bull, Varric and the Inquisitor would be easy to spot.

Dorian was about to leave the food table when he bumped into someone, another man.

The man was slender but appeared slightly muscled, had short, black messy hair and Dorian could see that the man had green eyes, eyes that the mage couldn't help but think most beautiful.

The other man's masquerade mask was a bright pink colour and it too, just as Dorian's was, decorated with small jewels and feathers.

"I'm sorry" said the other man to Dorian. Apologizing quickly to Dorian, however Dorian was quick to dismiss the man's polite apology.

"No, no, no, don't apologize. It's all my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going"

"Okay, if you say so. Um…I accept your apology then" said the other man in response.

The man smiled at Dorian and Dorian couldn't help but smile back at him.

Dorian stepped aside a bit so the other man could help himself to some food.

"My name is Harry Potter" the other man said as he started to help himself to some of the food.

"Dorian Pavus" said Dorian. "Are you part of the Inquisition or just here for the drink and food Harry?" Dorian asked.

Harry smiled, "I'm with the Inquisition. I joined up when the Inquisition was recruiting mages"

"You're a mage? What a coincidence, so am I! What magic do you specialize in?" Dorian asked, very much interested in Harry.

Dorian wondered what Harry looked like under the mask he was wearing. He already adored the eyes, they were quite a stunning pair of emerald-coloured eyes afterall.

"Battle magic, both offensive and defensive" Harry replied.

"I specialize in Necromancy, myself. Will you be dancing later?"

"Maybe, I don't think I'm very good at it but yeah, I might. Come and find me later and…"

Harry was then cut off from he was going to say next when a female's voice that sounded quite like Sera the elf interrupted him.

"Hey, you mages will you stop with your stupid flirting! You're blocking the food! If you want to flirt do it someplace else!"

"Sorry Sera!" said Harry quickly before he moved aside. "We were just talking though"

Sera rolled her eyes, "Sure, you were..."

Harry and Dorian then shortly after the interruption to their small conversation walked together away from the food tables.

"So, uh...a dance later then Dorian, with me maybe?" asked Harry.

Dorian smiled, "With you? Yes, of course! I'd love to! I will seek you out later."

Harry smiled back at Dorian, "I look forward to it!" he said.

Dorian smiled again and they both separated to mingle with other people while they both ate and drank.

Dorian then spent of what was probably an hour or two, once he had found his friends, talking to the Inquisitor, Sera, Cole, The Iron Bull and Varric. He listened to the music and listened to the Inquisitor make a speech about why this masquerade party had been all arranged. He drank more wine, ate food, listened to the music that was being played, however when it came to the dancing, he had been uninterested for the most part. He only really had interest in dancing with one person here, he just had to find him again.

Wanting to find Harry he looked around and asked people until he found the other mage.

He found Harry talking with The Iron Bull who seemed to be telling Harry that he thought Harry's eyes were very pretty.

Dorian couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy and he felt a big of anger towards the Iron Bull, though this was probably a bit unfair towards his Qunari friend. The Iron Bull was correct, Harry's emerald-coloured eyes were quite beautiful but Dorian wanted to be the only man to tell Harry such a compliment.

Harry seemed to notice Dorian and he smiled at the mage, Dorian smiled back, his anger at his Qunari friend quickly disappearing.

Dorian offered a hand to Harry, "Dance with me?" he said to Harry.

Harry smiled and he eagerly gave a nod before taking Dorian's offered hand.

The two mages arranged their hands to the appropriate positions before they began dancing.

"Was The Iron Bull bothering you Harry?" Dorian asked as they started to dance together.

"Not really," said Harry. "Though his flirting will get him nowhere with me, I'm afraid I don't feel the same way that he does"

Dorian smiled, he couldn't help but feel pleased about this.

"And if I flirt with you?" Dorian asked.

A smile was on Harry's face, "If you flirt with me, I might flirt back. I know that everyone has masks on but what can I say, I suppose you've caught my attention"

Dorian gave a happy chuckle "Then I will do so and you've caught my attention as well"

Harry grinned at Dorian.

"Bull is right though; you do have very beautiful eyes Harry" Dorian said.

Harry smiled, "Thanks, I like your eyes too"

"Where do you spend your time while at Skyhold?" asked Dorian.

"The library and the pub mostly"

"The library? Oh, so you like to read?"

"A bit yeah," said Harry.

"I do as well, I will have to search for you sometime. I'm surprised we haven't met before," said Dorian.

"I'm a bit surprised as well, I'm sure I would have remembered someone like you."

Harry and Dorian continued to dance, talk, and flirted with each other, enjoying the masquerade party.

The next day Dorian went in search of Harry and found a man in the library with Harry's hair, voice, and beautiful emerald-coloured eyes.

He was pleased to find out that Harry was quite handsome and he found out that Harry wore round, black glasses and had a unique scar shaped like a lightning bolt on his forehead.

Even more interested in Harry as he had been during the masquerade party he asked Harry out on a date and he was both happy and relieved when Harry accepted.
