N/Me is super indecisive about the couple ok, there will probably be more love triangle before I can decide, or better, before you can decide. yes, the choice is up to you, but calm down, this is just the first chapter ok. I'm thinking about writing another fic with Mal/Ben but obviously it will also be changed gender, but obviously I'll change the story a little bit. I thank you for reading, and please, if you like it, please favorite or Follow, I really appreciate it.

Mason never really cared what others thought of him, unless it came to them being afraid of him. He is Maleficent's son, after all, he needs to cause fear, so he will gain respect.

He's done bad things, things his mother is certainly proud of but rarely shows him. But saving the Life of his Enemy Entitled Daughter of a Enemy Enemy of his Mother is not a bad thing, and that is nothing to make his mother proud of him.

His mother is beyond mad at him.

"How can you be so silly!?" He flinched, clenching his jaw in fear but not looking away. "You had a chance for revenge and wasted it! And worse! You failed to complete your mission! You useless idiot!" She slapped him. he took a step back, not in shock he was already used to getting slapped by his mother. It hurt a lot sometimes, but he would never admit it. That would be weakness, and his mother hates weaknesses.

He tried not to swallow hard. "I didn't do it because I wanted to save her, Mom." Lie, he knew it was. "I just thought she could be more useful as an ally than as a useless body that would stay asleep until I don't know, that's very peaceful." He tried very hard to convince himself of that. "why not have my own group of henchmen who helped me with my plans?!"

"A villain doesn't ask for help!" She screams in his face, he almost flinched but remained still, steady, even though he was afraid. "But, you're right, She might be more useful alive, however, I'm still disappointed in you! How can you be so weak?!"

He didn't apologize, didn't respond. He knew it would be in vain to make excuses or apologize, this is not something a villain would do. "I'll be worse." He lifts his chin.

"Worst?! You're nowhere near worse, there's still a lot to learn! Now go to your room! I don't want to see your face right now, go!"

That was months ago, now they are a gang, one of the most popular and most dangerous on the island. His mother thought she should teach him some lessons so he wouldn't be weak to her gang.

Sometimes he got it wrong.

He arrived with quick steps in the alley where the three were.

Evie, who was wearing a mirror and was taking back her lipstick, which wasn't a little smudged at all. She looked away and looked at him with what looked like amazement. "What happened to your face?" It was red, probably.

"This matters ?" He answered and walked past her.

"Malevolent." He heard Jay whisper to Carlos off to the side in the alley and clenched his fists.

Mason shot a narrow look at Jay, who held up his hands in surrender but still smiled. " Enough talking, we have to talk about our next plans."

" What plans? " Carlos asks.

"Shrimp and his henchmen stole something from my room while I was gone. We'll take it back and give them a taste of how we treat those who disrespect us."

"What did they get?" Evie asks.

He folds his arms. "You'll know when I get it back, not before."

"Oh what's Mason? Don't you trust us?" Jay said playfully but mischievously.

Mason looked at him. "Don't make me laugh Jay."

He took a step forward. "Let's get out of here first, it's not safe to talk around here." He walked past the others and soon the others followed him too.

He just climbed into their hideout, with no Carlos or Jay in sight. But he knew Carlos was in some room or corner over there. Evie was sitting on the windowsill, looking crestfallen.

He wasn't sure.

" What's wrong with you?" he asked with narrowed eyes.

She shrugged. "My mom doesn't like me to smile too much, it causes wrinkles."

He frowned but didn't comment. She's her mother, yet he doesn't care what the evil queen thinks."And why should that matter?"

"I would look bad with wrinkles." She said looking at the mirror on the other side.

"Evie." She looked at him. "You are being stupid."

Evie laughed lightly, but she didn't look amused.

"Yeah, I think a little bit." She looked at the floor thoughtfully. He hated when she did that, it looked like she was hiding or whatever. But he thought he was cute too and- what was he thinking? He frowned but then relaxed and sat down beside her so that one of her legs was on either side of the railing and he was facing toward her.

"Are you going to talk or not? I won't be here all day, E." He snorted. In reality he would be, he had nothing special to do today, and Evie was tolerable company.

Evie sighed and leaned against the wall beside him, pulling herself further away from him.

"Do you think we'll ever get out of here?" She asked, her blue eyes turning to him.

He crossed his arms, leaning against the wall behind him. " Yes."

" Same?" She sat up straighter.

He shrugged. "We'll find a way, one day. Then we'll take revenge on those foolish kings and queens of auradon, take their thrones and crowns and rule auradon forever." He said this with a smile.

Evie looked at him, looking more tired than amused by the idea of him.

"You speak like your mother."

" Oh! Thank you." He said with a sarcastic smile, the villains don't thank you, ever. Maleficent made that clear to him.

"but why that question? What are you thinking?"

He expected escape plans, not delusional dreams. "Think I can have a prince someday? Like, I'd love to get married and be queen."

He looked at her for a moment like she was crazy. "Gross, E. You'll be queen and have a prince as a servant if you want, but none of these silly de-Ugh ideas, I can't even say the word." He closed his eyes in disgust.

" Love ?" She suggests.

He grimaced and looked at her. "That's right. And can you stop saying that? Someone might listen and want to use it to their advantage."

"You're pretty paranoid, M."

He leans in close, still with his arms crossed. "I'm cautious, it's evident that you and Carlos are the most vulnerable among us, we don't want our enemies to notice that either. They might want to use you, and that I won't. allow." He said in a cold tone and leaned back again.

Evie smiled and looked at him, one eyebrow raised. ." It's weird how you can offend someone and be cute at the same time." She laughed.

"Evie, don't call me that. It's going to make me puke." He felt a little red, which is probably already the result of being called cute. he's not cute, he's Mason, son of Maleficent and he's not cute at all. Even so, being called that by Evie made her stomach feel weird.

He frowned, confused. "I'll find Jay before I throw up here, we need to break into Uma's lair at dawn." He got up and walked away.

"So…you're going to distract Uma?" Jay asked, looking reluctant to do so.

Mason looks up from Uma's hiding place to the others beside him, mainly Jay, who's asked the question. "Is there a problem with the plan Jay?"

Jay looked at him and clenched his jaw, an unspoken question. Jay knew that Mason and Uma had history, they… they were together before, long before. Mason found himself weak, and Maleficent doesn't like weaknesses, Mason doesn't either. He ended up horribly with Uma, pretending to drown and hoped so long that she didn't help him, why? Because Maleficent was watching and Jay was hiding so when the time was right to pull him out of the water, Uma saved him instead. She even asked if he was okay, if he was hurt or something. She worried about him.

Mason didn't want to, he didn't want to end, but love, he didn't want to have to say it was love, I mean it was just two teenagers with hormones, that's all but…maybe it felt like love and love is weakness.

When he saw his mother's green eyes watching him in the dark alley, he got up and ended right there. Showing that he wasn't weak, that he didn't… he didn't love Uma. That she wasn't bad enough to be with him.

It was the worst. Secretly, Mason knew that his mother would do something horrible to Uma after having seen how weak Ursula's daughter was, his mother would never allow him to be seen as weak, and Uma… it was a weakness he had to put away, definitely .

"I'll deal with Uma. Do your part and don't fail," he said through gritted teeth.

He saw Evie look suspicious and she exchanged a look with Carlos. He shifted his gaze to Ursula's house, which was actually sort of a bar. They knew what to do. Evie would distract Harry, Carlos would deal with the other henchmen, and Jay would steal back what Uma took while Mason distracted her.

He already told you what it was, a purple black box, it was from the doctor facilier. He wanted the box, and in return he'd tell her who Mason's father was. His mother would tell him that this was foolish, that his father is weak and that looking for him is weakness.

But Mason doesn't believe that and no longer cares what his mother thinks.

It wouldn't be the first time his mother had lied to him.

He walked across the wooden boards and entered the place. It was early and it was Friday, so there were no customers this early. Harry and the son of the hook should be here by now, but Carlos and Evie are taking care to distract them and the little band of pirates. Jay is right behind him, hiding behind a box. Ursula has already left to go to Tremaine's house, they will probably talk for hours and do their hair and stuff.

As soon as she entered he saw Uma getting a broom. "I thought cleaning was a Tremaine thing, not a sea witch." He found himself looking around with obvious disinterest.

Uma turned instantly and her expression was one of anger at the sight of him. " You."

" me." He smiled.

Uma took her sword and walked over to stand in front of him. "What do you want?"

" To talk."

"You? Talk?" She laughed "what's the plan? Where's your little bunch of idiots?" She knew him well, he admits.

He needs to distract her. "There are no plans, I just wanted to talk to you in private, alone."

She huffed. "I'm not an idiot, do you really think I believe you? Get out of here before I throw you out." she threatened and he saw her tighten her sword.

He took a step forward, she didn't move from her seat and he looked her right in the eye and joked. "You're incredibly beautiful when you're angry, did you know that?" Uma narrowed her eyes. He sighed. " Okay, I… I just want to talk, really.. Um, please… Just for a few minutes. It's important." He shouldn't ask please. His mother doesn't like him talking like that. But it's part of the plan, and Uma must definitely believe now. She's rarely seen him speak in such a way, being kind or anything like that. This is very unusual of him considering who he is and who his mother is.

Uma looked surprised and then… he couldn't believe it when he saw her cold eyes soften and her take a deep breath, actually seeming to believe him. " … What do you want to talk about?"

He took a deep breath." Look, I know you're mad... but can we please just... talk? Alone? Can anyone come or hear and I..." He took a deep breath. Pretending to be like that was being easier than he thought. That scared him. He tore his gaze away from hers and caught a glimpse of Jay slipping past Uma's back and hiding on the counter.

He looked at her again. " And that's all ok. I need to talk to you."

She looked reluctant at first but then she sighed and looked away. "Okay, fine, come on." Something in her chest seemed to break because she was actually cheating. Is she really trusting him, is she… trusting him? He swallowed hard as he followed her. His mother would certainly be proud to see him do it but he felt wrong, he felt guilty. His mother would say that this is great, that he is actually becoming who she created him to be.

He didn't feel an ounce of pride in what he was doing. It was just…. He didn't want to think about it anymore. He didn't want to think about what he was feeling, so he clenched his jaw and ignored the conflicting emotions in him.

They passed the workbench and the next door, walking down a blue wooden hallway, until they reached a door and Uma opened for him to pass. " This way, ."

He entered the room. It was nothing new.

Large bed with blue blankets and some furniture, wardrobe, two windows to the sea and to Auradon. He remembers that before, the two of them snuggled together just watching the lights of Auradon and the stars. It was ridiculous, but it was their moment, it was the only time they both relaxed their Villain stance, the only time Mason actually… sometimes acted like a real weakling. That's why they couldn't stay together, it was too affectionate, it was too…just too weak.

" What do you want to talk?" He saw Jay sneak down the hall as Uma closed the door and glared at Mason.

He needed to give it enough time. They agreed that when Jay was done, he would meet Evie and then Carlos. When they did, Harry and Uma's henchmen would go to her house and Harry and Gaston's boy would go looking for Uma, which would be her cue for him to leave.

He opened his mouth and closed it, thinking and then… "I missed you."

She blinked and then huffed, "You? You said I wasn't bad enough for you, now you suddenly change your mind?"

"I did it because of my mother."

She looked a little surprised. "What?"

It was true, a truth that could be used. "You were a weakness. My mother doesn't like weaknesses."

She took a step forward. " Wait a minute, you're telling me …-

"It doesn't matter too much, but I thought you should know. I didn't want you to be used in any way against me…" Mason wouldn't say that out loud, but he did. In a way, this is bad. When Uma finds out what he took after leaving there, she will understand that he lied about her mother and that he broke up with her because of her mother. She'll think he actually lied to distract her, to take a trophy from her mother and give it to Maleficent, only it's not to the maleficent that Mason will deliver. But she doesn't need to know that. It's bad enough he has to return a stolen item.

"So you only came because of this? Why don't you want them to use this against us?"

"No…" He replied, his voice trailing off as he looked at her with a gentleness he shouldn't have shown. it was a daring act, but why not? He stepped forward and one reached out to touch Uma's hand, and she allowed it, looking at him curiously and even…missing her? Mason looked at her intently and his free hand came up to cup Uma's cheek, a soft, calm caress. "I said I missed you, didn't I?"

"Weak!" He almost flinched at the intrusive thought that came along with her mother's voice.

Uma looked into her eyes as he leaned in until their noses touched and she whispered, "I'm still mad." That's what she said, almost against her lips, but there was a fragile tone there, low. Both had their eyes almost closed.

Mason smiled. "Kiss me angrily then." He answered and she snorted but still closed the distance and he almost melted right there when her lips touched his.

Her hand held her face more tightly to him and he felt her other hand touch her stomach reluctantly and work its way up, her nails bringing heat across her stomach. Mason stifled the shudder that ran through her body as her hand slowly moved up until it gripped the side of her pale neck, pulling him even closer to her body.

He let out an involuntary sigh into her mouth, almost a moan, and he could already feel her smile on her lips as the kiss became more urgent by the second and he felt their breath catch quickly. She pulled him back even further, bringing him with her until she nearly tripped on the bed behind her, but Mason caught her waist and slowly laid her there, all the while lips glued together as they both lowered themselves onto the bed. Mason was on top, between her legs and her arms holding her neck and pressed together there. Mason's arms were beside her head and he pulled back a little, leaving only a few inches between her lips and half-closed eyes. Both panting and red lips as they stared at each other.

"Does that mean we're together again then?" She asked, her eyes opening even more and they were hopeful, waiting for some answer from the boy who was staring at her. "Mason? Are we together again?" She repeats, still in a calm voice but looking a little reluctant.

Mason swallowed, which is what he should do now. "I…"

He wanted to lose himself there in her, but he knew it wouldn't last. Her heart would be broken, and as fantastic as that would be for her reputation, Mason couldn't deny that his might also break when that happened, which was ridiculous, totally and completely ridiculous.

"What's better than a broken heart?! It's perfect." He could almost hear his mother's laugh and the pride in her voice.

It's weakness. He is not weak. He is not weak.

Mason heard footsteps and walked away quickly, pushing himself off the bed and off Uma, standing at a reasonable distance from Uma.

Harry's voice came out. "Uma ?" he appeared in the doorway and looked at Uma still in bed and then at Mason standing. He walked into the room and went straight to Mason. "What is he doing here?!" Harry said through gritted teeth and Uma was quick to cross in front of Mason.

"Hey! Hey! No way." Uma said, hand held up to stop him from approaching. Harry promptly obeyed but still continued to glare at Mason. "I invited him here, so relax ok?" It wasn't a request, it was an order.

"What? But-"

"Don't argue, Harry. It's my decision, and it's final." Uma came face to face with Harry, who looked very much like he wanted to argue but fell silent.

Mason took it as time for him to leave. "I need to go." He said and walked past Uma and Harry towards the door, where Gill was standing there awkwardly.

Uma went after him and before he could get through the door, she grabbed his arm and he sighed, turning back to her but not meeting Uma's eyes. "Wait now? You don't have to go, I can send them if you want- "

He lied. "No. My mother must already be looking for me, I can't stay here right now." And I can't come back later… but Mason didn't say that. He knew she would either hate him or wonder what had happened and go after him. He needed time to pull away, to concentrate, to distract himself from the conflicting emotions inside him. He needed to think of something else, something else. He needed to go back to how a villain should be.

He looked up at Uma and she seemed to soften a little. "Okay, I get it." She looked at Gill next door. "Gill escort Mason to the end of the docks, make sure no one disturbs him on the way." " This was unexpected and does nothing to help Mason forget about the emotions themselves. Uma then gave his hand a light squeeze, knowing that a more intimate demonstration like a kiss in front of his group wouldn't be something Mason wants. He prefers privacy and is not very fond of public displays of affection, it could make him look weak.

He is not weak.

Mason nodded before pulling away, his heart hammering in his ears and not daring to look back.

He soon found her gang waiting for him in their lair. Jay sitting on a barrel and Carlos and Evie standing by the wall. Evie was the first to notice his arrival and seemed to notice the coldness in Mason's face. "M, are you ok?" She dared to ask. One villain doesn't ask if another villain is okay, but Mason was feeling too stupid to correct her, instead he took the box in Jay's hands and waved her in after him. Jay and Carlos were already following when Mason stopped and turned, hand raised and eyes cold.

"Just Evie." Jay and Carlos looked at each other for a moment and then nodded, Jay holding up his hands in surrender and the two boys already knowing Mason wasn't in a good mood.

He felt Evie's gaze on him but didn't dare meet her gaze, just walked upstairs with the box in his hands.
