Demons*

Marty slept through another night without nightmares thanks to Todd and his mother's lullaby. It really did chase the nightmares away, well, at night anyways. During the day she thought about Zach's Murder and Powell's confession to help cover it up. He had been sentenced to life in prison. He deserved to go to prison for raping her, but Zach's Murder was on her not him. He wasn't an innocent man, but he was innocent of that.

She wasn't a religious person and didn't even know if she believed in God, but she still found herself outside of ST James. Perhaps she was there to see Andrew, perhaps it was to find peace.

She lit a candle and when she turned around she saw Andrew.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt your time with god," Andrew said.

"Is there a God, Andrew?" Marty asked.

"I believe there is. Why are you here Marty? How can I help you?" Andrew asked as he took a step closer to her.

"I can't be helped. I did something that can't be forgiven and the awful truth is that there's a part of me that's glad that it happened. I have so much anger and so much rage inside of me and I don't know what to do with it. That night it just exploded and all I could see was what they did to me. The anger turned everything red and she, no I hurt somebody, but they hurt me first."

Let's go in here to speak," Andrew stated as he led her to his chamber where they could speak in private. "I assume this has to do with the rape. Did you hurt Todd, Zach or Powell.?"

Marty sat in silence as she fidgeted. What was the right thing to do? Should she share her demons with Andrew?

"Anything that you say to me, any confessions that makes your soul heavy with burden will be confidential and protected under the church," Andrew stated.

"I don't want to talk to you, you're no brother of mine," Tina said as she began to shut the door.

"I'm not here to talk to you and believe me you're no sister of mine either, I'm here to talk to Vicki and last time I checked it was her house," Todd said as he pressed his boot inside of the doorway to block her from shutting it in her face.

"It's my family's house," Tina retorted.

"Well then it's my family's house as well," Todd said as he pushed his way inside.

"Where's Vicki?" Todd asked her.

"She's in the living room, but I'm not sure that Vicki's the one that you'll find," Tina stated.

"What do you mean?"

"After Thanksgiving, she had a breakdown of sorts. The doctor's say that she has Split personality," Tina explained.

"Why wasn't I called?" Todd asked.

"Only family knew and like I said I don't consider you family. You wouldn't even share what should have been mine to begin with."

"Vicki is my sister and I should have been told. My first impression of you is correct, you really are a greedy, selfish twit," Todd said as he turned his back on her and headed into the living room.

XOXOXO

He found Vicki dancing around in the living room. She was wearing tight, revealing clothes, her short hair was spiked up. She was wearing blue heavy eye shadow and bright red lipstick.

"Vicki?" Todd asked as he shut off the music.

"Names Nicki, Nicki Smith. You must be Vicki's hot and sexy new brother," Nicki said as she winked at him.

"What happened to you on Thanksgiving? What caused you to be created?" Todd asked.

"Oh I've been around a lot longer than you have. I wasn't created on Thanksgiving, just reappeared when things got too stressful for Vicki to handle." Nicki explained as she took a drink of Vodka. "Come and dance with me, I want to dance with you," Nicki said as she turned back on the music and put his hands on her hips.

"No thank you," Todd said as he removed his hands from her waist, shut off the music and took a step away from her.

"What's the matter? I'm not your type?" She asked.

"You're my sister, so no, you're not my type," Todd said as he winced.

"What's a little incest anyways? It's not like it wouldn't be the first time," Nicki said as she took another drink.

"What's that supposed to mean? Was there someone else in this family...Tina said the apple didn't fall far from the tree when she told everyone that I raped Marty. She didn't mean it as a compliment and it was about our father. What did he do to you?"

She walked over to the table and grabbed a pair of glasses and put them on. "Don't pay Nikki any attention. She loves to cause trouble for others to clean up."

"Which one are you?" Todd asked.

"Normally I would pretend to be Vicki until order was restored and I could give the spotlight to someone else, but thanks to that Thanksgiving dinner disaster, our identities are out in the open, so I won't pretend with you if you don't pretend with me."

"Sounds fair enough to me."

I am Jean Randolph, I am the gatekeeper personality, which basically means that other than Vicki, I'm the only one who can decide who has the light or not. I clean up messes, that is my function. Nicki spills the milk, Vicki cries about it and I clean it up."

"So it's just the three of you?"

"Oh no, there's more, but the others don't come out unless absolutely necessary. As much as Nicki causes trouble, she is much more stable and much more easier to clean up after than the others," Nicki explained.

"I asked Nicki a question, are you going to answer it?" Todd asked.

"No, Vicki's awake and wants to talk to you, I'll let her answer if she wants," Jean said as she removed the glasses. "Todd? Have you been here for awhile?" Vicki asked as she looked around in confusion.

"A little bit, just getting to know some of the voices in your head," Todd stated.

"I'm sorry about that," Vicki said as she grabbed a shawl and wrapped it around herself.

"On Thanksgiving, Tina said that you had a breakdown. What happened?"

"I don't really remember much from that night. I remember Tina telling everyone what happened between you and Marty. Marty left and you ran after her. I got a really bad headache and I think that I blacked out. Next thing I know, I'm in the hospital. I was told that several of the personalities were fighting for control and Tina called for an ambulance because one of my personalities threatened to kill her if she didn't keep her mouth shut."

"Tina mentioned my past and she made reference to me being like our father. I think I already know, but I need you to say it. How did he hurt you?" Todd asked.

"He raped me starting when I was a little girl. He raped me over and over again," Vicki stated as she cried.

"Oh god...it's true than, I'm just like our father. I'm cursed."

"I don't know the details of what happened between you and Marty, and I'm still getting to know you, but I don't think that you are like our father. He wasn't sorry for anything that he ever did. He was evil and twisted and I'm certain that there are more demons of our father's, of mine waiting to be exposed or my alters would have ceased to exist when I remembered that he raped me."

"I'm sorry Vicki," Todd said as his eyes filled with tears.

"That's my point Todd, you are capable of feeling sorry for someone else, where our father wasn't. It is clear to me that you regret hurting Marty and are trying to make up for the pain that you caused."

"Is that even possible?" Todd asked.

"I don't know," Vicki whispered.

XOXOXO

"I hurt them all in different ways I suppose," Marty said answering Andrew's question.

"How so?" Andrew asked.

"I cut Todd's face, I left him with a scar...I guess he'll always be reminded of my fear and anger and what he did to cause it when he looks in a mirror."

"Is there more that you need to tell me?" Andrew asked.

"Zach tried to rape me again on Halloween night. I hit him in the head with a bat in self defense. I had a gun and I kept reliving the night that they raped me. I wasn't sure if everything was real or not, it felt like a dream, no a nightmare. I had never felt so much anger, it consumed me, it turned everything a shade of red, and then I heard this clicking sound and there was so much blood. I shot him over and over again, I killed him Andrew. Todd showed up and he took me home, he took care of me, the evidence, got Powell to confess to killing Zach. Powell was sentenced to life. I don't know what to do Andrew."

"No one will hear a word from me, but you already know what the right thing to do is Marty. You know it in your heart, it's why you came here to see me today," Andrew said.

"I know," Marty said as she pulled out her phone.

"Bo, I need to talk to you about Powell," Marty said.

"Marty, I was just about to call you. I'm sorry to tell you this, but Powell killed himself last night and left a suicide note for you. I'm sitting outside your house, but you don't seem to be home. Are you going to be home soon?" Bo asked.

"I'm on my way home now. I'll see you soon," Marty said and than hung up the phone.

"What is it Marty? What happened?" Andrew asked.

"It's too late...I was too late. Powell's dead, he killed himself. It's all my fault," Marty whispered as she got up and left Andrew's chamber.
