Isolation*

The first week was the hardest, being cut off from visitors while she detoxed was lonely. She had never done being alone well and without the alcohol or the drugs there was nothing to distract from the fears that the isolation brought on. She would often have to calm herself from panic attacks as she remembered Aunt Kiki locking her in the dark cellar without food when she had misbehaved.

Tomorrow, she would be allowed visitors again and she wondered if he would come to visit her. She missed Jason, Cassie, Andrew, Vicki, and Jessica. She missed talking to Nora on the phone and seeing her daughter via Skype. She expected to miss all of them, but she didn't expect to miss the man that had destroyed her. She was surprised to find out that she missed him most of all. She didn't know who she was without him, all she knew was that she should.

XOXOXO

It had been one of the longest weeks of his life being without her. Seeing her everyday had come as natural as breathing to him, but this week he had to go without and it was lonely. It had been a long time since he had felt like the little boy whose uncle locked him in the basement without any food, his punishment, for real and imagined offenses. It had been a long time since he had thought about those lonely nights.

"Todd, I would like to have a session with you after school tomorrow," Ray stated interrupting his thoughts.

"No can do Doc, I've got other plans."

"Todd, it's very important to have one on one therapy," Ray stated.

"I know it's important and we'll start soon, but not tomorrow. I have to see her tomorrow," Todd stated.

"Marty?" Ray asked.

"Yes, I haven't been able to see her all week. I need to see her tomorrow," Todd stated.

"Does she need to see you?" Ray asked.

"Yes...no...I don't know, but I've missed her," Todd said.

"I know, but she needs to recover and so do you."

"We'll help each other recover," Todd said adamantly.

"Possibly, but if you're not careful, your obsession with her will cause more harm then good."

"I don't want that, but I have to see her. You don't know how much I've missed her."

"I know that you want to see her Todd and I think that you should. I just want you to pay close attention to her feelings, wants, and needs. They need to take priority even over your own. Seeing her while she is in rehab needs to be about setting her up for success. Pay attention to her body language Todd, and if you think that you are making her worse, then you need to leave. I can come with you if you would like," Ray offered.

"No, I understand what I need to do. Marty's needs and wants will come first. I promise that I'll leave if I upset her in any way," Todd stated.

"Okay, than I think that you are ready to see her. I want you to call me tomorrow night after you leave so that we can discuss your visit."

"Will do Doc," Todd said as he left his office.
