A/N: An idea which wouldn't leave my mind, so I wrote it. I doubt it'll ever continue it, however people are free to take what I have written and create their own take on it. If you would like, I can also tell anyone interested the general idea which I had for this plot bunny. The only wish I have is that people simply PM me if they have decided to take my story as their own.
Anywho. Without further ado, into thee actual chapter.
Plus One
Bardock's eyes shot open as he rose from his bed, heart pounding relentlessly against his chest. He rapidly looked around the small room he found himself in, feeling disoriented and having difficulty distinguishing the present from the future.
The present from the future…Had it all just been a crazy dream?
As his breathing calmed and he finally felt lucid enough to take in his surroundings, he found himself in his own home still in Vegeta, the planet yet to be blown to pieces. How long till that moment would come to fruition? Would it even come to fruition?
No. He knew what he saw was the future of his youngest son. Of that he was sure. His son… the first legendary super Saiyan and saviour of seemingly the entire universe… Well, at least one universe, that is.
But more importantly, he would be one of the two last pure Saiyans the world had to offer. A race inevitable from extinguish.
Was there nothing he could do? Was this truly the only future available for his entire race? For his friends? For his family… Gine, Raditz… And while Raditz would survive the destruction of their planet, his life was already forfeit the moment Frieza corrupted their minds… No, Frieza had already dug his filthy claws into their culture, transforming them from a race of warriors to a race of mercenaries and mindless soldiers… All because of the incompetence of their King.
Knowing the future that he did, and while it had turned out well for the rest of the universe, he could not and would not allow for their race to diminish and disappear the way it did. It was time to reclaim their true heritage; As warriors, not slaves.
He already knew that earth was the key to their survival. He also knew that the destruction of most of their race was inevitable and unlike in his vision, he would not confront Frieza in a suicidal battle.
With a plan already brewing in his brain, Bardock destroyed his scouter without a second thought and went to where he knew his son was getting ready to be shipped off to earth. This time however, he would not be going alone.
No one could find out, not blip of this could ever reach Frieza's ears. While in the alternate future, Raditz had known of Kakarot's placement, he had thankfully forgotten, until he hadn't. Not this time. This time would be different. There was no time to warn. He didn't need to warn them in the first place. The destruction of their planet was inevitable and he would not even bother to stop it.
Finding his son, briefly throwing a look at Broly crying next to his wailing son, without hesitation he took out the baby and headed to the pods. No one bothered to greet him, no one even spared them a glace. Such was the attitude of the "elite". Their arrogance was their downfall.
Bardock briefly felt his heart ache, knowing the Gine would worry, knowing that Gine would have to face destruction with the rest of their race… But discretion was the key component, they weren't ready to face Frieza, not for at least another 25 earth years.
And so, without further hesitation, he jumped inside the pod, Kakarot finally asleep against his chest. No one was around to see him punch in the coordinates, no one would stop the automatic deletion of the files once the pod took off to its destination, no one would ever know any better, except a worrying mate, unable to find her family and even that did not last for longer than a day, as the earth beneath her feet pulverized in the scalding heat of an impossible energy beam.
