(Vincent's Pov)
I woke up to my alarm again and I sighed as I got up and looked around the motel room a bit and I rubbed my head. I headed to the bathroom and took a shower, then brushed my teeth after I was done. I looked at my phone a bit to see a lot of notifications but I then got a text from Clementine so I looked at it.
'Hey Vincent how was your night?'
'It was great, don't you have school though?' I asked as I looked in the mirror a bit.
'No school was dismissed early because Gabe set the fire alarm in the chemistry lab.' She says and I laughed at this.
'Need me to get you?' I asked as I grabbed my keys and my signature vest.
'That would be great.' She messaged and I nod as I head to her school. I look around the parking lot and saw Clementine near the school so I drive up to her.
"Hey heard you needed a lift?" I asked and she laughed as she got in and I smiled at her as I drove off the school property.
"Yea, thank you stranger." She says as she gets in my car and I laughed a bit at this.
"Stranger danger didn't teach you well." I say as I drive out o the school parking lot.
"Lot of people saw the post." She says and I smiled at this.
"Is that so? Well, it can't be helped." I drive a bit more to wherever in all honesty.
"Lot of people asked if you and I were dating, I just told them to read the description." I hear her say and I lean into my chair a bit as I parked the car by the park and I looked at her.
"No kidding, my old bandmate asked if I was dating again, and of course you know about Minerva and how she felt on the photo." I muttered the last part a bit and she laughed.
"Oh yea, I know, it's fine though, it just shows that they only want to see what they think is true." She says and I laughed at this and nod.
"Yea." I muttered and looked out the window.
"So do you have baseball practice today?" I asked her and she nods.
"Yea I do, but that's in a few hours, I still have time to hang out." She says and I nod.
"Is it ok if I just stay and watch?" I asked and she nods.
"Yea it's fine, plus we can hang out afterwards, if you want that is." She says and I see a little red on her face and I chuckled a bit at this.
"Yea that would be great." I say and she nods as we step out the car and go for a walk around the park a bit. We talked a bit about school and what we do for relaxations.
"I usually just vent out with playing baseball, going to the batting cage is fun." She says and I nod in agreement.
"Yea, you're really good though, do you ever want to play professionally?" I asked her as I picked up a stick and we walked into the hiking trail.
"I do but I'm not really sure just yet." She explained and I nod.
"No shame, trust me I didn't want to be a musician as a pro, I really wanted to dance." I admit to her.
"You? Vincent Aldon wanted to be a dancer?" She asked and I chuckled a bit at this and rubbed my neck.
"Yea, well it was one of many professions I wanted to try, but yea I wanted to be a dancer." I say as we walked more, we passed a couple walking down the hiking trail and waved to them.
"Hello Christa, and Omid." Clementine says.
"Hello Clementine how are you?" The man Omid asked and I looked to him.
"I'm doing just fine, and you?" She asked.
"Doing great, Hey who's this?" He asked as he looked to me.
"This is my friend Vincent he's visiting for a while." She explained and I nod as I shake their hands.
"Well, any friend of Clementine's is a friend of mine, nice to meet you, Vincent." Omid says as Clementine talks to the woman Christa.
"Thanks, um so how do you know Clem?" I asked.
"Oh, we were just traveling the United States and we ended up here, I hurt my leg on this hiking trail and her and her father just so happened to be walking the trail too and helped. We have stayed here ever since though, use to watch over her when she was younger." He explained and I nod at this information.
"Ok Omid and I do have to go now are we going to see you at your fathers cook-out next week?" Christa asked.
"Oh, right after my game I'll be sure to get there." Clem tells her.
"Oh well, seems we have to go, I hope to see you again Vincent." Omid says and I nod as they leave and I look at Clementine and chuckled.
"They seem like a happy couple." I say as we walked.
"Oh, they are, they'd make great parents too, they've been trying to have a baby for a while now." She says and I nod.
"Omid seems like the cool dad that would make his kids happy." I say and she nods.
"Yea he would, don't tell my dad but when I was younger Omid let me have an extra cookie before bed." She jokes and I laughed at this.
"I bet you gave him the puppy eyed look too?" I asked and she looked to me and smiled.
"It didn't hurt to use it, but yes I did."
"So, what do you want to do after practice?" I asked and I picked up a stick and dragged it in the ground as we walked.
"I know a spot where we can just relax, it's kind of cheesy but it's a meadow, but trust me it's really nice at night." She explains and I nod.
"Alright that seems like a good idea." I think and she nods as we walked more.
"So did you use to go on dates a lot?" She asked and I think.
"The last date I recall was two years ago when I took Minerva to an amusement park this was before we really got big like nation wide big." I explained.
"Oh, that sounds like fun, only place I have been to was a fair, I think Lee wanted to take us to a amusement park once but we never had time." She says as we stopped and I looked to the side of the hiking trail and I think.
"If you ever want, I'd take you, and AJ I bet he would have loads of fun." I tell her.
"Oh, he will trust me." She says with a smile and I chuckled at this.
"He seems like a cool kid." I say as she picked up a rock and looked at it. We talked and walked for a good hour and we decided to head back o the car and I drive around a bit. I took her to get some lunch and it was at one of those sit in your car places, looked pretty old school and we took a seat in the back of my car as we ate a bit.
"You know, you're not like other big shot people." She says and she laughed as she wiped some ketchup off my face and I smiled as I swallowed my food.
"Oh?" I asked and she nods.
"I mean… you don't have a fancy car, you don't act like them too, all 'I'm famous so you should kiss up to me' kind of thing." She explained and I chuckled.
"Oh, that would be Minerva, first big gig we got she went and got this uh… foreign car, Lamborghini I think, and she did act that way to some people." I tell her and I take a drink of my milkshake.
"I didn't mean to sound rude if I did, I know not all people are like that but… some of the things I see in the media just… you know." She says and I nod.
"Yea I know what you mean, heck people thought I was a drug addict and some people still do." I say as I set my drink in the cupholder and I look to her as she ate a fry.
"I never believed that stuff, when Sarah and Mariana showed me that picture, they wanted to use against you, it wasn't right." She says and I nod in agreement.
"Yea that photo was after my grandfather had died, it was just a bad time, I wasn't on drugs I was drunk I'll admit to that." I muttered as I ate one of her fries.
"I'm sorry if I brought up any bad memories." She says and I shake my head.
"No, no it's all good, it was a few years ago." I tell her and she smiled as she took my fry and I smiled at her.
"Anyway, how's your burger?" She asked.
"Oh, really good, thanks for the suggestion by the way, I passed this place a few times but never got to try the food." I admit and we ate a bit more.
"So do you miss your friends? In the band I mean." She asked and I nod.
"Brody, Louis even if he was a bit… eh how do I put it, he's extra, Marlon was ok, so was Mitch, Omar is a god when it comes to cooking, Ruby was good when it came to budgeting, and I guess I miss Minerva's little brother Tenn, he was on tour with us once." I say and pull out my phone and showed her the photo of Tenn and I as we were on a boat and he had caught a bass.
"He asked if I could take him fishing since his dad was busy so I did." I say and she points to the person behind us.
"Who is that?" She asked and I looked to the photo and I smiled a bit.
"My grandfather, I wanted to go fishing with him." I say and point to the other man in the background.
"And that was my father, I was able to get him to come with us, only time I really saw the man happy." I tell her and I just looked at the photo.
"Was he not always happy?" She asked and I locked my phone and placed it in my pocked and grabbed my drink.
"He's the type of person that doesn't understand things at first but he'll get use to it later on when he get's it in his thick skull." I tell her and I lean back a bit.
"When he lost his job in construction, he got mad and use to hit me… I wasn't a good kid either I would push his buttons here and there, hell I even threw a plate at him once." I recalled the memory.
"What makes you think him hitting you was, ok?" She asked shocked and I looked to her.
"I… it's confusing, I know one time I just punched him when he wouldn't look at me after." I stopped and sighed.
"After?" She asked and I looked to her.
"After I told him I wanted to transition." I tell her.
"Wait… you're?" She asked in a fake gasp and I laughed and nodded.
"I look very convincing." I joked and so did she.
"You are very handsome." She says and I look at her.
"Oh, you think so? Well, I have to say you are very beautiful." I tell her and I see her blush and I chuckled.
"But uh… yea he wouldn't look at me, he glared after I said that and then told me to get out of the house… didn't speak to him in years." I say as I take a drink.
"You said you were going to see family when we first met." She says and I nod.
"Yea… I thought I could talk to my parents, heck I was going to stay with my grandmother until we could talk."
"You want to try and rekindle with your family, that's a nice thought." She says and I nod.
"Yea, I mean I was able to in the photo I was able to get my dad to come because I wanted to get to know him more you know, I knew he loved fishing so why not… we had a few beers here and there and talked but the rest of it was just silence unless we were helping Tenn… I think that's the first time I heard my dad say he was proud of me, after that I haven't talked to him again." I tell her.
"I think it's a good idea though, you want to try." She says and I nod and we finished our food and I went to throw it away. We headed back to the school and I watched as Clementine got ready for her practice. I decided to take a seat in the stands and watch her a bit as she swings her bat for practice.
"Hey aren't you, Vincent? From the band 'The Walking Dead'?" I hear and look to see a group of girls coming up to me, they seem to be part of Clementine's team and I just nod.
"I uh, formally part of the band." I tell them as they came up to me.
"Well, it's amazing that you came to this little old town." She says and I look to the woman.
"I uh was just passing by, and I uh… liked the scenery." I tell them as they got a bit close to me.
"Well, we could show you around more if you want, we could have some fun too." One girl said as she placed her hand on my shoulder.
"Yea we can hang out after practice." Another girl suggested.
"I uh-."
"Sorry girls but Mr. Aldon is spending the day with me." I hear and looked to see Clementine looking at us from the fence and I nod.
"Yea, I already have plans with Clementine, sorry." I tell them.
"Oh right, we shouldn't mess with Clementine's man." One girl joked and Clementine laughed a bit at this.
"He's not my man." She tells them.
"Suuuure, you keep saying that Clem, who can resist your beauty." One girl said and they walked away and I sighed a bit and looked to Clementine.
"They joke a lot, trust me, they're good people." She says and I nod at this and I watched as Clementine got back to practice. It was an eventful practice I couldn't keep my eyes off Clementine, I just couldn't keep my eyes off her at all, the way she swings the bat, when they switched and she was the pitcher, the outfielder and baseman, it was going good for a while. They were able to take a break and Clem came over to me for a bit and I smiled.
"So, what do you think?" She asked and I chuckled.
"I think you're going to kick ass, so when is your game again?" I asked and she shoved me a bit.
"It's next week Mr. Short term memory, why are you going to stay her for that long?" She asked and I could tell she was quite curious at this and I felt my face heat up a bit and I nodded.
"Yea I mean, I'm… I'm on vacation and I'll be supporting a friend so yea." I muttered a bit and I hear her giggle.
"Well thank you for thinking, but you don't have to if you don't want to." She tells me and I nod.
"I know but I want to see how you are in a game… plus Omid wants to see me again so." I tried to make an excuse.
"Alright, I believe you." She says then the coach calls them back for practice.
"Well, I have to go now." She says with a groan and she heads back to the field. They practiced for about an hour before practice had ended then the team all went to grab their gear and I went up to Clementine and I helped grab her stuff and we took it to my car.
"Thank you again." She says and I smiled at her and we got in the car and the news station came on.
"In other news we got some information from Minerva about why Vincent had left the band, in her statement Minerva had said that she had caught Vincent using drugs which is against their contract, along with beating her when he was high on drugs, we wanted to ask the other bandmates but Minerva had said that they didn't want to be involved with all of this." A woman says and Clementine looked to the radio as I kept driving. I gripped the steering wheel a bit hard and I felt a hand on my hand.
"That fucking bitch." I say pissed off and I pull to the side of the road and called a number I knew all to well.
"Hello?"
"DON'T YOU FUCKING HELLO ME, YOU KNOW DAMN WELL I NEVER HIT YOUR STUPID ASS!" I yelled into the phone and I saw Clem back up a bit so I stepped out the car.
"Woah hold on."
"HOLD ON? HOLD ON? YOU FUCKING HATE ME ALL YOU WANT BUT LYING ABOUT THAT SHIT IS UNCALLED FOR AND YOU DAMN WELL KNOW IT, I NEVER HIT YOU AND I NEVER, EVER TOOK ANY DRUGS THAT WASN'T GIVEN TO ME BY A FUCKING DOCTOR!" I yelled into the phone at Minerva.
"I SAW YOU!" She yelled.
"NO, YOU DIDN'T BECAUSE I NEVER DID, HOW ABOUT I GO TO THE PRESS AND SHOW THEM DOCUMENTS ON THE ABOR-!"
"Do not bring that up you son of a bitch I swear to god."
"SWEAR ON NOTHING YOU FUCKING LIED NOW YOU MADE ME LOOK LIKE AN ASSHOLE BECAUSE YOU FUCKING HATE ME AND FOR WHAT?!" I yelled again as I gripped the phone tighter in my hand. I was beyond pissed I wanted to hit something to I looked to my car and punched the door.
"YOU LEFT THE BAND!"
"SO, FUCKING WHAT IF I DID, I CAN LEAVE WHENEVER I WANT!" I yelled and I saw Clementine get out the car as she came over to me and moved the phone away from me a bit and I took a few breaths.
"You will go back to the news and you will tell them you fucking lied or I will have your ass so tangled up in lawsuits you'll be wishing you never fucking met me." I tell her and then I hang up on my phone and I looked at Clementine as she looked to me and I throw my phone to the ground breaking it and I shake my head and groan a bit as I looked at my hand.
"Let me see." She says and she takes my hand and looks at it.
"It's bruised, lucky you." She says and I nod as I looked to the side of the bridge we were at and I sighed.
"Hey, if you need to be alone that's fine." She says and I shake my head.
"No, I don't… can I borrow your phone?" I asked and she nods as I look up the news station number and I called them up.
"Hello, WABE news." I hear.
"Hey this is Vincent Aldon; I'd like to set up an interview." I asked.
"Oh yes Mr. Aldon, would you like to do it with Minerva?" The person asked and I think and I nod.
"Yea, I'd like that, if that's ok." I say.
"Of course, no problem, it will be at the end of this month." They say and I nod.
"Alright thank you." I say and the line goes dead and I hand Clem her phone back as we go back in the car and the news is back on.
"We have some new information on 'The Walking Dead' former singer and guitarist Vincent Aldon, who will be doing an interview with his ex-girlfriend Minerva, the interview will be at the end of this month so please stay tuned to hear what they both have to say, on to other news-." I shut the radio off and I drove some more.
"So, you are going to do this?" She asked and I nodded at this.
"Yea… I am, I'm not going to have someone lie about something I have never done, it's bullshit." I say pissed and I sighed.
"Thanks to my anger I have to get a new phone." I muttered and chuckled a bit.
"Are you ok?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea… I'm ok now… sorry for scaring you I was just." I tried to say something to her.
"It's fine, I know why you're mad it's understandable, but don't hurt yourself next time and take a few breathers." She says and I nod and take a few breaths.
"Alright… breathing and try to keep a leveled head." I say and she nods and I slicked my hair back a bit.
"…. Would you come with me? To the interview… just in case I get… agro." I asked Clementine and she nods.
"If you need me to come, I'll come support you." She says and I nod.
"Thanks." I looked to the road and I sighed.
"Which way is it to this relaxing meadow?" I asked and she told me how to get to the place. It took a good few minutes till I got to a dirt lot and parked the car.
"We have to walk the rest of the way." She says and I nod as I get out the car and went to grab a flashlight from my trunk. We began walking up the hills and roots of the giant trees that blocked the path. We finally get to an open spot and I looked around a bit at the purple flowers that littered the ground and I smiled as Clem walked in front of me and then sat down in the middle of the meadow. I followed her and took a seat next to her.
"Alright so usually around this time the stars are out and it's the best view ever, no city lights, or any lights to block out the stars, and there are no clouds to block the view either, the moon is really beautiful to look at too." She says and I nod as I listen to her and we both lay back a bit and looked to the stars and she was right, they were really clear to see and the moon was beautiful. I looked at the stars as they twinkled a bit and I could see an airplane as well, but other than that the sky was clear tonight.
"Thanks for uh… taking me here it's really relaxing like you said." I say and I hear her nod against the grass.
"I usually come out here to just relax, before a game or for finals, I found this place with Duck one day and we promised to keep it a secret, but I know you won't tell." She says and I chuckled at this.
"I will not tell a soul." I tell her.
"Good… I wouldn't want people to just, ruin this place with parties and garbage they won't pick up." I hear her say and I nod as I placed my hands on my chest and looked at the stars more. It was quiet except for the crickets making some sounds here and there but it was a comfortable silence.
"You ever have random thoughts?" She asked.
"Sometimes… like I want to just go in my car and just drive but that was when I lived with my parents still…why?" I asked.
"Nothing, just thought I was alone on that." She says.
"Any thoughts you want to tell?" I asked.
"Same thing you said, get in a car and drive, though right now I can't, and it's not like I'm saying it because I don't like my family, I love them very much but it's just a though you know." She says and I nod.
"Yea, I know the feel…. You want to drive?" I asked.
"Hmm, you are going to let me drive your car?" She asked.
"Sure, in a parking lot unless you have a permit." I say and she sat up.
"Parking lot." She says and I chuckled as we got up and I helped her back to the car. It took us a bit due to the dark but we finally got to the car and she told me where we could go for her to drive. Once at the lot I stepped out the car and she got in the drivers' seat and I sat in the passenger's side.
"Alright, I think you know the basics, gas, break, blinker, lights." I list off.
"Yea Kenny taught me that." She says and I nod and help her adjust the seat and I looked up to her as I sat back up. Her face was red and I smiled at this.
"You can adjust the mirrors." I say and she does just that. She began to drive slowly and I looked out the window a bit to get a good look at where we were.
"It's the old baseball field, it's abandoned though." She say.
"Oh? Why is that?" I asked.
"Not a lot of people came here since they built the new ball park closer to the mall for some reason, this was a sort of sports center area but they never built the other fields so again people didn't come, we were all excited for it too, soccer, baseball, softball, hell even Hockey." She tells me as she drove a bit more and I looked around a bit.
"That's just stupid, why not finish a sports center that was going to make lots of money, but build another field close to a mall, it's stupid." I muttered and she laughed.
"Thank you, that's what I said, but I can't do anything about that." She muttered. I let her drive more until she started to get tired and I decided to make her stop. We switched spots and I adjusted the seat and mirrors back to normal. I drove her back to her house where Lee was waiting for her. She looked to me a bit and then kissed my cheek which made me turn red and I coughed a bit at that.
"Thanks for a great day." She says and I nod quickly.
"Y-Yea we should hang out tomorrow?" I asked and she nods and I smiled. I helped her grab her stuff and I looked to Lee as he grabbed her bag and she went inside. I then headed back to my car and sat in the seat for a bit and I smiled as I pulled out the driveway. I headed back to the hotel and I got ready for bed but I had to make a call first. So I called a familiar number on the hotel phone.
"Hey Brody." I say as she answered the phone.
"Vincent? Why aren't you calling from your cell?" She asked.
"Broke it, after I argued with Minerva by the way." I say and crossed my arms a bit.
"Minerva?" She asked.
"Yep… the call was more so yelling, especially because of the fact that she told the news that I did drugs." I state.
"Wait hold on, she did what now?" Brody asked more awake.
"She told the news I did drugs, and abused her, so I called her and yelled at her, then punched my car and broke my phone." I tell her.
"Jesus fuck she just said she was going to talk to them about asking for a meeting not this bullshit." She muttered.
"Hm, so does anyone else know?" I asked.
"No, not that I know of… I can ask though." She says.
"No, they might not say anything on it, I'm not sure anymore, but uh yea so that's why I'm calling from the hotel phone." I tell her.
"Ok… um when you get a new one just send me a message and I'll put your new number in my phone ok?" she asked and I nod.
"Yea, you'll be the first person… so how are you?" I asked her and we talk for a bit about what's going on in our lives, it wasn't till Brody yawned that I let her go so she could sleep. I lay on my bed and I think a bit before I closed my eyes and finally got to sleep.
