(Vincent's Pov)
-One Month Later-
I woke up to my phone going off and I groaned a bit as I turned in the bed and shut it off. I then turned back over and pulled Clementine closer to me as she snuggled into me more and I smiled a bit at this. It's been like this since we started to date, and I have to admit this was way better with Clementine then it was with Minerva.
"Hmm, you have to talk to person online." She muttered and I sighed a bit at this.
"Yea, I will just five more minutes." I muttered in my sleep and then my alarm went off again and I groaned as I turn back and shut it off and I slowly get out of bed. As I head to the bathroom to take a shower, I hear clementine mention that she was going to make some breakfast. After I had taken my shower, I take a look at myself in the mirror and see that my beard has grown out a bit so I grab some trimmers and just trim it up a bit. I look to my hair as I put my hands though it and I chuckled a bit. I then head into the room and grabbed a clean pair of clothes and I get dressed then head down the stair and I go to my study and turn on my computer. I go into the video chat and on the screen is Mrs. Martin.
"Well hello Vincent, I thought you might have wanted to reschedule." She says and I smiled a bit.
"Nah, I've missed enough meetings." I tell her.
"That's ok though, I understand you have a new job?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea I work in the music shop in Macon, and I'm trying to help my old band out as much as I can from here." I explained to her and she nod.
"And are you ok?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes, I am fine, I still have some anger issues but I've been working on them, plus Clementine helps me when she can." I tell her.
"Oh, who is this, Clementine?" She asked and I smiled like an idiot.
"My girlfriend, I mean we've been dating for a month now and I don't know, she just makes me really happy, she's a hell of a lot better than Minerva." I tell her.
"Yes, I heard the interview, I'm sorry she's been causing you more issues, but have you talked to here after all that?" She asked and I shook my head.
"No, but the bad thing is, I kind of want to talk to her… I want to know why she really said those things, I mean it can't all be because she was jealous, I mean I wasn't even dating anyone at the time, hell I didn't even think Clementine would want to date me after all that… didn't even think she would want to stay friends with me in all honesty." I tell Mrs. Martin and she takes some notes.
"I would say you should talk to her, but only when you are ready for it, also I got the paperwork ready for you on your appointment." She says and I sit up a bit more in the chair.
"Was it approved?" I asked her and she smiled at me and nods. I jump up from the chair.
"Yes, fucking hell, I didn't think they would approve of it." I say as I sit back down.
"Well with the test runs they have had it's still a low possibility of it working, you do understand this correct?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes, but if it does work then honest to god, I'll be happy as hell." I tell her and she smiled.
"Well, you still need to talk to the doctors on this as well, I looked into the locations where these surgeries are being done and I found one in Texas that has a pretty good success rate." She tells me and I looked to her then to the picture on the side of my desk.
"Texas?" I asked and she nods.
"Yes, it was the only hospital that had a better success rate than the other hospitals, I could give you-."
"No… no Texas is fine I have family there…. I uh… I was going to visit them anyway." I tell her and she nods at this.
"So, this is what they told me for you, you set up the date you want to go in, after the surgery they want to keep you there for about a week or even two weeks just to make sure they didn't mess anything up and to make sure you don't get an infection, then they are going to have to run a test to make sure the surgery actually did work." She explained and I nodded.
"Ok, so basically I will be out for almost three weeks?" I asked and she nods as I write this stuff down.
"Now does your girlfriend know about this surgery?" She asked me and I look to her.
"I uh… well she knows I want it yes but she doesn't know that I have talked to you about it." I explained.
"Alright, well be sure she knows, because when this does happen, you could have children if you-."
"I get it, yea I know." I interrupted her as I tuned red at the thought and I hear her laugh a bit.
"Alright, I just want to make sure that you knew, and that she knows as well…. Now is there anything else you need to talk to me about?" She asked and I shook my head no at this.
"Alright, well the time is up, I hope you have a nice day, Vincent." She says and I nod as we both disconnect the call and I lean back in my chair and sighed a bit. I then got up and headed into the kitchen and saw that Clementine had just finished making breakfast and I go up and kissed her cheek and she grabbed my face and pulls me in for a kiss. We pull apart after a bit and I smiled at her.
"How did the meeting go?" She asked.
"Great actually, fucking fantastic." I tell her and she looked to me as I smiled at her.
"I'm serious." I tell her and she nods at this.
"I'm glad, so what was the meeting on?" She asked and I look to her then the phone rang and I sighed as I go and grab the house phone and answer it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Vincent, guess who's coming to visit?" I hear Louis say and I roll my eyes and smile.
"I'm guessing you and the band?" I asked.
"Hell yea, are you doing anything today?" He asked.
"Hmm, I was just going to hang out with Clementine." I tell him.
"Well, let's all hang out, head to the batting cage?" He asked and I look to Clementine and I sighed a bit.
"We will meet you there in an hour, ok?" I say.
"Yes, alright cool see you then." He says and hangs up and I sighed as I hang up the phone and I go back over to Clementine who handed me my plate and I smile at her.
"Louis want's everyone to hang out, so we will see them at the batting cages if that's ok?" I asked and she smiles at me and kissed my cheek.
"Alright, we can but, AJ will be coming too, Dad has a teachers meeting to attend too and AJ asked if he could hang out with you and me." She says and I smiled at her and I nod.
"Yea, he's love to go to the batting cages hey why don't you call up duck and the others, just have a whole day to hang out with friends." I say and she looked to me.
"You seem really happy, but alright, I will call them up and tell them to meet us at Javier's." She says and I nod as we eat our food. After breakfast I went and brushed my teeth and then I heard the knocking on the door so I go to it and open the door to have a small body slam into me and Lee laughing.
"Seems like he missed you." Lee says and I smiled as I patted AJ's head.
"Yea, we'll take good care of him." I say as Lee heads back to the car and I bring AJ inside the house and closed the door.
"What are we doing today?" AJ asks and I think a bit.
"Well, we can go to the batting cages, see the band, and then we can go to the burger joint for some lunch, how does that sound?" I asked him.
"That sounds great, will Tenn. and Willy be there too?" He asked and I nod and he jumps up and down in excitement and I smiled just as Clementine came down the stairs.
"Ready to go?" She asked and I nodded as I grabbed my keys and wallet. We all got in my car and I drove to the batting cages, I saw the van so I parked next to it and I didn't see anyone inside.
"I think they're already inside." AJ says and I nod as we go in. I see Louis as he waves to us and then Tenn. and Willy run over to greet AJ and they went and got a section of the cages and played for a bit just as Clementine and I took a seat with the band and Clementine's friends.
"So, what have you guys been up to?" Clem asked the band.
"Nothing much, just wondering if by chance, Vincent was thinking about going-." Louis tried to say but I put my hand up.
"Sorry, can't come on tour, I have to head out of town for a few weeks." I tell him.
"What for?" Ruby asked and I smiled.
"I was about to tell Clem before Louis called but I guess I can tell all of you now, but I have to go to Texas for a uh… well remember those articles I showed you Brody? Like how I could possibly uh… have kids." I say and she smiles at me
"Holy Shit, they actually have it figured out?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea, but the best hospital is in Texas, I still have to talk the doctors there about it but yea I got approved." I say and I look to everyone, I saw that Gabe had the look of disgust on his face but the band looked happy for me and I look to Clementine as she smiled a bit to me. Though it wasn't her usual smile.
"Alright, let's go practice before the boys there beat us." Louis says as he gets up and heads over to Tenn. and the others follow but I stayed seated as I look to Clementine.
"You, ok?" I asked her.
"You'll be gone for how long?" She asked and I look to her.
"About three weeks." I tell her the truth.
"When are you going?" She asked and I look to her and I smiled a bit.
"Once you've settled into your college for a few weeks." I tell her and she looked to me.
"You aren't going in the summer?" She asked and I look to her.
"We were going to Texas in the summer, weren't we?" She asked and I look to her.
"I honestly didn't think of doing it during the summer, since we are visiting my grandma and all… but I could plan it like that." I think for a bit and look to her.
"Would you be ok with that?" I asked her.
"It's up to you." She says and I think for a bit and I nod.
"Yea… I'll send an email to the doctor there about it, I'll have to explain to grandma that I might be a bit bedridden though." I tell her and she smiles a bit.
"So, explain what will happen." She says and I explain how I would be staying at the hospital for two weeks and we both turned red at the part where they had to make sure everything worked.
"Oh wow." She says with a laugh and I smiled a bit at this and we both laugh a little. As time went by, I had fun with my friends as we took turns seeing who was the best at hitting the ball. I was getting pretty good since Clem and I went to the abandoned baseball field and practiced a bit since Clementine missed a practice, though I was to blame for her missing it.
"Jesus you two have been practicing a lot hu?" Mitch asked and I nodded.
"Yea, I made Clementine miss one practice and we just practiced on our own from time to time." I explained.
"How did you miss-?" Ruby tried to ask but AJ interrupted.
"Him and Clem were making out." He says and I rubbed my neck a bit at this and Brody laughs at this.
"Did the boy rat you out?" Marlon laughed and I sighed.
"No…. well… yea…. He's the one that saw us." I muttered.
"The poor boy, you weren't naked, were you?" Louis teased and I punched his shoulder really hard and glared at him.
"Why would they be naked?" AJ asked.
"Uh… no reason AJ uh… forget you heard all this and I'll get you something sweet." I say and he nods then goes and plays another round and I sighed and looked to Clementine who was red in the face and she was looking away a bit as Duck teased her as well.
"Alright enough teasing the lovebirds." Brody says and I nod in agreement.
"But it's so funny." Marlon says.
"Shut it dude or I'll spill about what I saw you-." Marlon covered my mouth and I licked his hand as he backed away.
"Ah gross." He says and wipes the spit on my shirt and I laughed as he looked to me.
"Alright no more teasing, so is there anything else we are going to do?" Marlon asked.
"Well, I promised AJ we would go to the burger joint for lunch if everyone is ok with that?" I asked.
"Sure, the one where you dine in your car right?" Aasim asked and I nod at this.
"Yea, we can head there once the boys finish up the last round." I say and I watch as AJ was able to hit a few balls, though they weren't really far he did get some good distance, sometimes AJ would come with Clem and I to our practices and he didn't want to use the Tee, that they have for T-ball.
"Great job AJ." I say as he leaves the cage and he looked a bit sad and I rubbed his head a bit.
"I'll never be as good as Clem and you." He says and I chuckled.
"Practice is all you need, but hey you did really good today." I say as we all begin to walk to the cars and we waved to Javier as he waved back to us.
"But I didn't hit the balls far." He says and I smiled a bit at this.
"Well, not everyone can always get a hit, and you still have to keep practicing, trust me you'll get better." I say as I helped him in the car and he nods.
"Ok, I'll get better." He says and I smile as I look to see Clementine smiling at this. We all went to the burger joint and ate the food In our cars. I had my door open as the band had the van back door open so we could talk.
"So, after this surgery, will you be going on tour?" Louis asked.
"I'm not playing remember." I tell him.
"I know but you said you would at least come to a few gigs." He says and I nod.
"Yea… I did say that, just give me a time and I'll see if I can make it." I say and he nods as he pulls out their schedule from the behind him on the shelf in the van and I take a look at it.
"You're doing an event in Georgia in a few months… it'll give me time to talk to Chuck about taking some time off." I say as I hand the paper back and he nods.
"Alright, fair." Marlon says and I smiled as I ate a fry. We all finished the food and decided to head to my house for the rest of the day. As we pulled in the driveway the boys ran out the car and into the backyard as us older people went inside and I grabbed a beer as we headed onto the back patio and I take a seat near the firepit and start a fire.
"So, since you're getting that surgery, you're going to try and knock Clementine up?" Gabe blurts out and I look to him as if he's crazy and others look at him.
"Uh, Gabe that's a private matter." Mariana says and I look to him.
"Come on, be honest with us you just want to hold Clem back." He says as he looked to me.
"What if I agreed to it Gabe?" Clem asked him and even I looked to her a bit shocked.
"I uh… but you didn't." He says.
"You don't know that at all." She says and he gets up and I get up as well and glare at him.
"I know you wouldn't do something stupid like that, what about baseball and college." He says and I glared at him as he tried to get close to her.
"Don't fucking go near her." I threatened him and he looked to me.
"You've fucked everything up, Clementine needs to worry about her studies and what she wants not what you fucking want." Gabe says.
"Ok, hold on don't fight." Louis says.
"No fuck that, fucking freak bitch here is trying to ruin Clem's life." He says and glares at me.
"Gabe." Sarah says.
"Gabe shut the hell up." Clementine says as she gets up and he looked to her shocked.
"Grow the hell up, you aren't my dad, you aren't my mom, you aren't my boyfriend, what choices I make in my life are mine, not yours and so what if I want to have kids with Vincent." She says and I look to her then back to Gabe.
"For fuck sake Clementine are you hearing yourself right now?" He asked.
"Gabe dude, it's Clem and Vincent's life grow the hell up." Marlon says to Gabe.
"Look, I know you all are fine with this but come on, he's messed things up for Clementine, he's got her fighting people for him, he's gotten that crazy girl Minerva causing problems for her." He lists off some things.
"He hasn't messed up anything, I fought when people picked on Sarah, what those guys did to Vincent was fucking despicable and-."
"Stop." I say to her and I looked to her then to Gabe.
"Get the fuck out of my house, off my property." I tell him and he looked to me and glared.
"And what if I don't?" He asked and I set my beer down on the table and I feel Clem pull on my arm and I move her back gently.
"What going to punch me? I'd like to see you try." He says and I look at him more then grabbed him by his shirt and shoved him back into the yard.
"Vincent stop." I hear Brody say as I go up to Gabe as he got up from the ground.
"Leave now." I tell him. The next thing that happens is that he punches me in the face.
"STOP THIS!" Clem yelled and I looked to Gabe and he looked back to me and I tackled him to the ground.
"Stop this." I hear people say as Gabe and I fought. Dust was flying around us and I got a few good swings in but was pulled back by Louis and Gabe was held back by duck. I feel more arms around me and I glare at Gabe as he looked to me.
"FUCKING PRICK!" Gabe yells and I try to pull away from whoever was holding me.
"I'll kick your fucking teeth in you bastard." I threatened him as he tried to pull away from Duck.
"GOD DAMN IT YOU TWO STOP!" Clem yelled and I looked to her.
"Gabe go the fuck home, now." She tells him and he shoves away from Duck and walks away from my home and I shove away from Louis and the others.
"Vincent inside now." She says and I look to her and she glares at me a bit and I nod as I go and I grabbed my beer and head inside and I go take a seat. I hear some cars leave and I look to see Clem walking in with AJ.
"My dad is coming to get him." She says and I nod as I look to the boy a bit.
"Want to watch something?" I asked him and he nods as he comes next to me on the couch and I turn the TV on and grabbed one of his movies to watch. I sat back on the couch and he leaned his head on me and I look to Clementine as she nods and heads into the kitchen. I rubbed AJ's head a bit as we watched the movie and I took a drink from my beer and took a deep breath.
"Clem is a bit mad but she was scared too." I hear AJ say quietly.
"Yea… she and I are going to talk once you leave… I'm sorry you saw all that and heard all that stuff." I tell him and he nods a bit.
"Tenn… he was really scared, he said he's never seen you that angry." He says and I nod at this.
"Yea… I don't think anyone has ever seen me that mad." I muttered and I drink a bit more. After a while AJ had fallen asleep and I hear a knock on the door. Clem goes and answers it and I grabbed AJ as he still slept and I looked to Lee who grabbed AJ from me and he nods to us.
"Thanks for watching him today." He says and I nod as he heads to his car. Once the car is gone, I turn to see Clementine looking at me and I rubbed my neck a bit and I looked down to the floor.
"Sorry." I muttered.
"I'm… I'm not mad at you, I was just… I have never seen you actually fight like that." She says and I look to her.
"He should have never said any of that… he should have dropped it but no." I muttered and I feel Clem place her hands on my face and make me look at her.
"S-So what if you would want to have kids with me, I mean… if you ever want too, I mean." I mutter a bit and she kisses me.
"Vincent, one day we can have kids when we are ready." She says and I nod at this.
"Of course, I mean… did I make you think you would have to have kids with me immediately?" I asked her.
"No, I know you'd wait if I asked… but I am really happy that you are able to get the chance to do this… and don't listen to Gabe, what he said-."
"I know… I know." I tell her and she smiles at me and kisses me again and I kiss her back.
"Well… help me with dinner?" She asked and I nodded as I followed her to the kitchen and I helped with making dinner for tonight.
-One Month Later-
I woke up to the sound of Clem's alarm going off so I reach over and shut the alarm off and nuzzled my face in her hair a bit. I feel her shift a bit in her sleep and I smiled a bit and kept my eyes closed.
"Hmm, got to get up." She mutters.
"Hmm, skip the graduation." I muttered.
"And Lee would kill you for saying that." She tells me and we both laugh a bit at this. I sighed a bit and I muttered and kissed her head a bit.
"Hmmm but you would agree with me." I say to her and I feel her nod a bit at this.
"But you have your appointment." She mutters and I chuckled at this and I nod.
"Hmm, I'm surprised your dad said it was ok for you to leave with me tonight." I pull her closer to me.
"Yea, but after the party that is." She says and I nod.
"Hmm, I'll let you sleep when we leave." I say to her and another alarm went off and I sighed as I turned it off for her again and we both got up from the bed. I let her go in the bathroom first and I grabbed a nice outfit to wear, I heard the shower going and I think for a bit as I grabbed an item from my dresser drawer and looked at it for a bit. I then heard the door and I hid the object and I look to see Clem dressing in a nice black dress and some flats to wear and I smiled at her as I went and grabbed my outfit and I head into the shower. Once done I brushed my teeth and got dressed, I headed to the bedroom and I see Clementine putting on some light make-up and I go up behind her and kissed her cheek gently.
"You look beautiful without the make-up." I tell her.
"It's just a little bit, not much." She says and I nod a bit and she kissed my cheek. I think a bit and grabbed my keys and wallet.
"I'll be downstairs want anything for breakfast?" I asked her and she shakes her head no and I nod as I go and grab some coffee and I look to the backyard a bit and I clear my throat a bit as I hear Clementine come down the stairs and I hand her some coffee and she takes it and nods to me and I smiled at her. After we were done, I took her to my car and I drove her to her parent's house and we saw Lee and Carly getting AJ into their car and Clem gets out my car and heads over to them. I get out the car as well and I walk over to them as Carly hugs Clementine.
"Graduating an going to college I'm so proud of you Clem." Lee says and I look to AJ and I go over to him to give him a high-five and he smiled at me.
"How you doing bud?" I asked and he tells me he's doing fine and I chuckled a bit at this as he tells me how his day has been going so far. After a while we all headed to the school since they were going to told the graduation at the school's gym, once we were able to park the car we headed inside and they told the guests to take a seat in the stands and I follow Lee and the others as we take our seats I look around a bit. It was a decent sized gym, many parents here and friends along with other family members I looked to the chairs where the graduates would sit and I rubbed my neck as we waited and then the music started as the graduates walked out. The principal and other teachers or members of the school board come up to the podium and give their speeches. Once everyone was done talking, they began to call the graduates up by their name and then Clementine was called up and I clapped and AJ was cheering along with her parents. Clementine waves to us and I smile at her and I chuckled a bit as I waved back to her then she went and took her seat. After a while they dismissed the students and I get up along with Clem's parents and AJ and we walked to the side and Clementine went over to us and she gave her parents a hug, then she turns to me and gives me a hug as well and I pated her back. We then went outside for a bit so she could talk with her friends and then Duck came over and gave her a hug.
"How does it feel to be a graduate?" I asked both of them.
"Same as when we were going into high school, so will you two be taking that trip?" Duck asked and I nod then look to Clem who also nods.
"Have a safe trip, also when you get back Dad has a gift for you Clem, for graduation." He tells her and she nods at this. We all get ready and head back to Clementine's parents' home and we go inside and chat for a bit and have some dinner.
"So, you'll make sure to call when you take breaks on the road and when you get to Texas." Carly says.
"Yes mom, I will, and I will send photos of the sights to see." She explained.
"Also, Vincent, you're ok if Clem updates us on how you are?" She asked and I nod at this.
"Yea, that's all good." I tell her.
"Alright, is there anything else?" Lee asked and I think.
"Not that I can think of, we should be back about two weeks before Clementine starts school, and I will see when I will be going with the band to try and figure stuff out." I explained.
"Right, and Clem will be staying at the house for an easy commute to the school." Lee says and I nod as I drink the rest of the coffee. Clementine then went to go and get changed into something comfortable for the drive and I messed around with my tie a bit and looked to Lee and Carly a bit and rubbed my neck.
"Please take care of Clementine on this trip." Lee says and I nod.
"Of course, nothing will happen to her and if she feels uncomfortable then I will be driving us back here, trust me." I tell them and they nod at this. Clementine the comes over with her bag and I get up and she hugs her parents and we head to the car. AJ then comes out and he gives Clem a hug after a bit he goes back inside and I drive over to my house. Once there I parked the car and I feel a pull to my tie and I look to Clementine and she kisses me and I kiss her back and smile at her as we pull apart.
"What was that for?" I asked as I looked to her.
"You just look really handsome in that suit." She says and kisses me again and I kissed her back. I then went inside the house with her and I began to pack my bags, I finished packing my bag and then I went to go and change into something comfortable. I picked the bag up grabbed the item from my dresser and I head down the stairs and I set the bag down and I go over to Clementine and kissed her cheek.
"You ready to head out?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea, we can head out now or in a few it's up to you." I tell her and she nods a bit then gets up and I follow her as we head to the car, I started it up and then began to drive.
"To home I go." I say as we head out to Texas.
