Today is Miku's birthday and Hibiki wanted to give her an exclusive gift before the party, except it requires the participation of a third and main party.

Chris' apartment
Yukine Chris was seated on her couch nursing a book. She has been distracting herself while waiting for her friend; Hibiki, to bring her childhood friend to her place.

Days prior to now, the Gungnir wielder had brought the topic of the girl's upcoming birthday and the search for a present.

The subject of discussion was rather welcomed to the older girl since she also failed to find a suitable present for one of her saviors. It also wasn't helping that the casual, direct approach of asking the concerned person results in an unfavorable outcome, the soon-to-be birthday girl answering with 'anything is fine'.

Brainstorming on the matter resulted in the two wielders having an extended session, with the kouhai taking a longer time to relax and getting her awaited rest to purge her from the stress of the week.

They found their answer hours later when the short-haired was about to leave, to a joint present, one they would only be the one to provide.

And so, here she was glancing at the clock hung in her kitchen, counting the remaining hours until they will all have to move to HQ for the 'surprise' party organized by the Commander of S.O.N.G; Kazanari Genjūrō.

"Chris-chan, I brought Miku as we agreed upon!" Further reading and thought were halted with her friend's shouts.

The silver-haired girl wanted to be irritated at her friend's lack of manners upon entering her place, straight up using the key she still doesn't understand why she didn't take away upon learning of its existence as well as the other copies months prior.

Instead, she releases a sigh, watching the puppy-like friend bouncing toward her, sitting by her side on the couch and then taking her in her arms for a hug, she has long resigned herself to them as well, becoming more of a hassle than anything, especially when everyone was aware that she didn't hate them as much as she was letting show trough.

"Hi, Chris."

Her other friend as well as today's birthday girl; Kohinata Miku, greets her once in her line of sight, which she returns.

They stay a moment like that, silence between them as Hibiki was still hugging her while she was doing nothing to push her away.

"Sooo… Hibiki. What kind of present needs me to come to Chris' place?" The childhood friend broke the silence.

This prompts Hibiki to let go of her senpai and stand up. "Well, Miku, you once asked me what I was doing at Chris' place to come back full of energy and everything, right?" Hibiki utters.

"Which your answer was that's 'confidential', that Chris makes you swore secrecy of it. Which I'm still not happy about it," the birthday girl frowns as she answers, eyeing her senpai for a reaction, but none could be seen.

"Well, anyway! With Chris' acceptance, I can let you in," Hibiki recovers before spreading her arms toward Chris as an answer. "A lap pillow nap!"

Unlike her happy-going friend, Chris has expected the look of confusion of their mutual friend, so she took it upon herself to explain. "Story short, one day she was complaining about all she has to deal with; homework, mission, eating, training, study, homework… and wanted to take a nap using my laps. I agreed since it would make her stop whining in my presence. Well, the thing is she got 'one of the best nap' she ever had and since then we kind of do it weekly."

Miku's expression didn't change much, albeit now the lack of confusion over what her childhood friend had announced prior to being cleared. "So… the present…" she attempts.

Chris cut her off. "Both of us agreed on letting you experiment it, or rather, she came up with the idea and I ended accepting."

"I'm not really sure-"

"Just try first, Miku. Chris-chan has those magic fingers that will make you fall asleep instantly and when you wake up, you will feel better than ever!"

"Wait, Hibiki. Like I said-"

"You will be better off resigning yourself, she took the time roping me into accepting something that I didn't want her to divulge in the first place. Refusing is the same as spitting on her effort… and mine." Contrary to what people would think, Chris was not one to have her effort being wasted, especially if she fought for it. So, letting her friend refuses her action is not even an option.

Cornered, Miku relents. "Fine," climbing on the couch, she then lays her head on her senpai's lap, feeling both the softness and warmth of the naked thighs while facing away. "I don't even feel tired, Hibiki. I doubt it would do anything," she says eyeing her friend.

"Let Chris begins the second part and we will see if you are tired or not," Hibiki replies confidently.

Miku was still doubtful until feeling Chris' hands on her head, fingers stroking through hair locks before any thoughts seems to vanish from her mind and feeling herself falling into darkness.

Chris stops her ministration when soft snoring could be heard after less than 3 minutes have passed. "Here, asleep for the next few hours." She announces.

Hibiki kneels in front of her unconscious friend, staring at the now peaceful and resting girl before lifting her gaze toward her senpai. "Thank you, Chris. Miku has been feeling a bit under the weather lately, and with her exam of piano at the end of next week, I think she was getting restless over it."

Chris nods. "Well, just like you, she probably didn't want to worry you, but resulted in you worrying nonetheless. Take this example at heart, that's exactly how we feel when you hide things from us to yourself until they explode in your face, leaving us to pick up the pieces."

"Sorry," she answers sheepishly. "So what now?"

"What do you mean, 'what now'? I'm obviously stuck with her here so there is not much I can do."

Hibiki furrows her eyebrows at the statement. "Then what were you doing all this time I have been sleeping on your laps?"

Chris pointed at the book she has been reading moments prior to her friends' entrance, seating on a folded blanket. "Reading mostly, sometimes I would take a nap of my own, not the most comfortable position but still work."

"But you always were awake when I woke up,"

"Sleeping after you do, waking up before you do, nothing that incredible," She says, contemplating finding something to sate her friend's upcoming growing boredom. "I guess you either can go to the party's location, helping the others, or make a round trip to gather any homework you have yet to finish."

With those two choices, Chris was certain that the Gungnir wielder would leave her alone to help their friends settle everything up, leaving her to her book and blissful silence.

Unfortunately, her hope was dashed away. "Then I will be back."

"Huh?" Chris lets out.

"Making a round trip from your place to the dorm is not that long, so if I hurry I can make it pretty quick." The kouhai stood up from her post, trotting toward the door, before putting on her shoes and coat. "See you soon Chris-chan!"

Chris was left stunned by her friend that she grew to know, the latter choosing homework over whatever else possibilities. Composing herself after the departure of the girl, Chris' gaze falls on her other guest, sleeping soundly with even breathing. "She sure worries a lot about you, as you do for her. And us for the both of you," she mutters followed by a sigh, reaching for the blanket at her side to cover her kouhai before opening her book.

"3 hours to go before we have to head for the party." She says to herself after another glance at the clock.
