Disclaimer: I don't own Star Wars. Also, please forgive inaccuracies here. I'm just trying to have fun and provide some explanation for how Rae can do what she does later in the story.

Time-line: Two years and ten months after Naboo.

Phantasm 3: Enter Solaris

It had been two months since she got back from Naboo and in that time, Rae had decided that she needed to know more about medical practices than just 'clean wound, disinfect, apply pressure.' It had helped Jakk, sure, but he'd still needed a lot more than just pressure bandages. Her skills, as they stood, didn't go any further than what a band-aid and painkiller could fix. She wanted to be able to help those in need while she was out gathering information, not to mention being able to patch herself up should she end up in a fight could only be beneficial, but she also wanted to keep her wider search a secret. So, she made a new identity. It was surprisingly easy, actually.

(At the time, she didn't consider it was because of the underworld connections she had, but in hindsight, a lot of things got accepted just a little too easily.)

Hannah Solaris was an interesting student, all the instructors agreed. She was focused, quick on the uptake, took exceptional notes, and asked intriguing questions about odd hypothetical situations that were just a little oddly specific. And she always did her hair and make-up the exact same way, not to mention her wardrobe seemed to consist of seven variations of the same outfit. Still, Hannah was one of the best students they'd ever had in their Advanced First Aid class. "Miss Solaris?" Dr. Barker called. The blond stopped and turned to face him, carefully sculpted brow raised and artful gold powder glittering in the light.

"Yes, Dr. Barker?" she asked, voice as soft and measured as ever. Truly, she gave every impression of being a meek, demure woman but Barker knew better. There was a wicked intelligence and fierce independence behind those jade green eyes.

"My colleagues and I were wondering if you'd be interested in pursuing a more thorough schooling in medicine. It wouldn't be too difficult to get you accepted into the nursing program," he told her. She blinked at him in surprise, lightly painted lips parting slightly as she gave a soft gasp.

"That would be wonderful but... to be honest, attending these advanced first aid classes has been difficult enough. Between my two part-time jobs and my family, this class has taken up what little free time I had."

"For a student of your caliber, I'm sure we could arrange remote classes," Dr. Barker pressed. "Then you'd only need to come in for your labs." Hannah hummed, tapping her chin, then nodded.

"Who would I need to speak to to make the arrangements?" she asked. Dr. Barker sighed in relief and pointed her toward the admissions office of Coruscant University. That woman would make a great nurse, possibly even a full doctor. Heck, with her attention to detail, she could even make surgeon! Getting her trained and educated could only provide a service to the galaxy.

Rae hadn't intended to go beyond advanced first aid, but having the qualifications and documentation of a Registered Nurse would be helpful. Not to mention the Force started singing when Dr. Barker approached her with the idea. And now that she thought about it, maybe she could become a surgeon and help free slaves directly? Well, even as an RN she'd be able to make quite a few contacts within the medical community. If she couldn't expose and then dispose of Sidious and his collaborators and the Clone Wars still came about, then having connections with any kind of medical personnel would be beneficial. And not just for her, but for the Clones too. Memories of her short yet all too informative trip to Kamino reared up and Rae shivered, heading to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. "I'm not leaving those boys to fight this war themselves... if I can't stop it before it gets started, that is," she vowed once more.

A/N: And so, Hannah Solaris the RN is establishing herself. I'm fudging time-scales for medical training with this fic. I am aware of this and will do my best to avoid a true excess of hand-waving madness but like... she's a Mary Sue and we all know it so her being able to get the credentials and skills she wants quicker than should be possible is kind of par for the course here... Right?
