author's note:

Hey everyone, another great reponse to my chapter thank you for the views. Once again I love writing owl house fanfics and my only regret is it's not getting a full season 3… that sucks disney. I love the owl house and I'm sure you do too… so let's enjoy this awesome show while we got it.

"did either of expect to see anything so beautiful in your lives?" Eda asked, pick ax in hand.

Both Luz and Tristan were horrified to see a giant slug, dead on the sand.

"a giant trash slug? That's why you interrupted my work out routine?" Tristan asked, shaking his head in disbelief.

"you work out everyday. You only see a treasure this rare once in a blood moon." Eda said, going to town on the corpse.

"ah isn't it just majestic. It makes a living off the garbage and refuse of the world and then gets hit by a big wave and lands face first on the sand for us to take it's bounty." eda talked like she found the holy grail instead of just a dead slug.

"eda I've been thinking of new lessons for my apprenticeship." Luz said tapping the witches shoulder lightly. "How's about reading ancient scrolls, brewing potions, or maybe finding an ancient companion."

"ugh, that sounds like school stuff."

"wait is there a magic school?"

"yeah but you don't want to deal with that. They make you learn magic the 'proper way', but magic isn't proper it's wild. Now hurry up we'll get to the oviduct first."

"Actually eda, I'm gonna go look at pictures of animals who are still alive." Luz said taking a couple steps away.

"wait before you go… I want you to have this." Eda placed a small green sphere in luz's hand. It was sticky to the touch.

"A… slime ball… great."

"Use your slime ball wisely, young witch."

Luz stared at the ball amazed and then turned back to the witch. She walked over to king who was lounging on the beach. "later king, you little beach peach." she cooed.

Tristan followed after luz and casually walked next to her.

"I wish eda would teach me real magic."

"you should forget about her teaching you anything. I personally think she's just keeping us around as labor and that she can't teach us anything."

"Speak for yourself… your the one with the natural magic ability. I'm just a plain jane human."

"and what's wrong with being a plain jane human. I'd kill to be you right now."

"why? You have the ability to see the future, a magical bloodline, and potentially are related to someone important in this world."

"Powers I never wanted, a bloodline that my parents concealed from me, and either the person who I'm related to is a criminal or they are abusive garbage… why else would my parents leave and not tell me about this stuff… you got it all."

"If only we could switch lives right?"

"Yeah if only."

A small flie is buzzing near luz's ear and lands on it about to take a bite when It's wings were grabbed by tristan's hand.

It tried to fly out of them but he held them tight.

"woah, your fast, all that football training am I right. You have amazing reflexes."

"It's my magic… it increases my reaction time and I've found out that it enhances my durability"

"How?"

"apparently it has entered my subconscious and has made it so that whenever I'm in danger my own body takes measures to minimize the damage I take… that's why whenever I get hit in the game I get right back up. All my talent… it's just magic."

"why do you sound so sad?" Luz placed her hand on her friends slumped shoulders.

"because… it means all my achievements… everything I thought I earned… I just inherited from my parents… I have powers that no athlete could hope to match and that means I'm a cheat."

"I don't think your a cheat… I think your cool."

"I just want a normal life… I never stood a chance of having one. All because I'm a witch." Tristan looked up into the sky. "do I even deserve to be happy?"

"you can do this! You can!" Voice echoed in the woods.

"mysterious voice of encouragement?"

"I don't think it's that."

Both of the teens snuck into a bush and popped out on the otherside to see a plump girl with pointed ears in a school uniform which consisted of dress-skirt with magenta leggings and sleeves. She wore big round glasses and had black hair cut short.

"Little witch girl." Luz said, mesmerized by the girl in front of her.

"So what if you get a bad grade. Your parents say that there are a lot of oppurtunities on this track. Now get to class and do your best." the witch stomp on a floor, crushing it underfoot. "oh no, little friend. I'm so sorry." Willow used a spell circle to bring the flower back to life

A cualdron similar to the one near the witch girl barreled near her.

On top of the barrel was a girl in the same uniform with green hair instead of black and having a tuft of amber roots poking out. She wore a bored expression on her face and read a book.

"oh willow, you're so unnoticable I almost ran you over…" She said not even looking up from her book.

"hey amity," Willow said, her voice defeated.

"shouldn't you be prepping your… you don't have anything to show do you?"

"No,"

The witch took a faux concerned tone with willow and clicked her tongue. "this is why everyone at class calls you half a witch willow… hey there is someone who wants to talk with you."

Amity used a spell circle toward her cauldron. "Abomination… rise." she commanded and out of the cauldron came a hulking pinkish goo monster who looked horrifying.

"You're...a...super..star." The creature groaned in cut up senteances tracing a star on willow's head.

Amity tapped her chest which had a star on it and she smiled. "it's like mine… but worthless." Amity looked to the creature. "cower." she ordered and it recinded back to it's home.

"Hey as class representive, it is my job to tell you to keep at it and even you can get a passing grade… see you in class superstar." she said using her magic to make the cauldron speed forward.

"Oh, see you in class superstar." Willow said in a mocking tone and stomping her foot "I hate when she does that, I hate being bullied, and I hate getting bad grades." the witches eyes glew a bright green as she summoned up the foilage around the woods and it lashed out trying to grab as much as they could.

Luz and tristan backed away but both had thorned vines around their leg pulling them into the clearing.

Hearing their grunts and strain willow's eyes turned from the green back to the normal color. She gasped when she saw what she did.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry." she said freeing them.

"Don't worry, it didn't even break the skin." Luz said, taking a few steps to get the feeling back in her legs.

"So round." Willow mumbled. "you're human! A real human on the boiling isles. How'd you get here? What are you doing here?"

"I'm here too." Tristan scratching his leg. "I hope this isn't some kinda poison ivy variant on the boiling isles.

"Oh, I haven't seen you in class are you new?"

"No, I'm from the human realm too."

"But your a witch."

"so I've been told. But I didn't know I was witch until a week ago." Tristan shook his head. "your willow right?"

"Yeah,"

"I just want to say that what you did with those plants… wow." Luz said smiling.

"I'm not even supposed to do plant magic… I'm in the abomination track."

A loud chiming of bells echoed through the woods.

"I have to go! I'll be late for school."

"school? As in magic school!" Luz exclaimed.

"Yeah, where I get bullied."

"I wish I could go to magic school… but eda would never allow it."

"Why not sneak in." Tristan suggested smiled.

"But how would I be able to do that."

"Willow, you need to get good grades right?"

"Yeah,"

"and your abomination isn't complete right?"

"What are you getting at?"

"Simple, luz can pretend to be your abomination and I'll act like I'm a new student interested in the school."

Willow placed her finger under her chin and hummed. "that's smart enough to work." she said. "Okay! Let's do it!"

Luz covered herself in the abomination ooze and climbed into the cauldron.

Tristan walked next to willow and followed her to the school building. They came upon a typical school building with a huge gate that read 'hexside school for witchcraft and demonics.'

"Yeah, this place looks like a magic school. Maybe they have a sports team."

"we have grudgby." Willow admitted.

"Is that in anyway like football?"

"I don't know what football is?"

"you poor simple girl." Tristan joked smiling.

The two came upon the stairs leading into the school building to see an old man with a devil head as a cap look down on them.

"Hello ms. Park I see you've brought a visitor? What is his name?"

"this is… what did you say your name was?" Willow said the last bit under her breath.

"tristan maia, sir… I'm someone who wants to see if your school can help me become a better witch."

The principal studied the boy, he storked his chin and then smiled. "Very well, what track are you interested in?"

"Oracle," Tristan knew enough about talent that if you want it to reach it's full potential you needed to nurture it.

"Very well, I'll send you on the first year oracle track student schedule after that I'll have you give me your guardians contact info and go from there."

Tristan saluted the principal "yes sir,"

the man smiled and called over someone. A moon headed girl in the same uniform as willow except her sleeves and leggings were purple.

"Selene, if you don't mind show mr. Maia around."

The girl nodded her head and took tristan with her.

The boy turned his head to willow and her cauldron. I hope this doesn't come back to bite me.

Tristan followed the moonheaded girl to the class room which had a stylized eye over the doorframe.

"So, what have you studied this year?" Tristan asked, looking at the girl.

Selene began doing weird finger motions.

Tristan assumed that this was sign language but that thought went away when a thought entered his head.

I am mute… and can only speak through oracle enhanced sign language… only oracle magic users can understand it… I like your weird shirt."

tristan was shocked… "t-thanks." he said confused.

Selene opened the door for him and he took his seat.

The two sat next to each other and out of the doorway came the teacher who was a tall woman in black school robes with purple skin.

"Alright Class, it has come to my understanding that we have a new student and that he is looking to see if hexside is up to snuff… today we are going to see what he can do. Tristan maia please come to the front desk."

Tristan rose from his seat and stood at attention.

"Now tristan how far along has your training brought you in the ways of the oracle."

"well I've unlocked future vision, my body has oracle magic in it that enhances my reflexes and increases my durability… that's about it."

The kids all gasped.

"Future sight! That's an ability that only master oracles can hope to attain. Are your parents part of the emperor's coven."

"No, but my grandma is familiar with them… very familiar." Tristan chuckled at his joke about eda.

The other kids glared at him.

"So enhanced reflexes and durability… let's see if you can dodge every attack the class throws at you… everyone, oracle darts!"

The class all smirked as they did their spell circle and thirty darts shot toward tristan.

Tristan in return just smiled and began gracefully dodging all the attacks. They were sloppy and most of them he knew that if they did hit would do nothing… but he doesn't quite know how he gained that knowledge. Oracle magic… it's crazy.

After the display the teacher clapped her hands together and the whole class gave a standing ovation. "very good tristan… very well done. Take your seat mr. Maia."

the teacher then began sketching on the chalk board. "Now class as you know only the best of the best can do what mr. Maia did. Infusing your very body with oracle magic is a taxing process. One that could drive a potential witch mad if not handled with proper care. The best of the best of the best can do it so well that they don't have to think… body and mind act independently of each other with the only connecting thread being their magic… they call it the true instinct. In recent history only three men have been able to attain and all of them were oracle covenheads at one point… now any questions?"

the rest of the class went by without incident. Tristan had gotten many of the students trying to talk with him and offer to have lunch with them.

Tristan just shook his head and actually liked the attention he was getting. He smiled at this. Nobody's snickering about me, everyone looks the same as me, and I don't feel like I have to have my guard up… I think I'm gonna like being here for the summer.

Tristan knew that this daydream would end as soon as the summer was over and that means tristan would have to enjoy being normal for as long as he could… because eventually he would have to go back.

Or do I? The thought entered his head… he could stay here forever. The boy shook his head. No I can't do that, even if I wanted too, I'd be abandoning luz… she can't stay here for the rest of her life so neither can i

tristan owed it to luz to be there for her through think and thin… even though he loved the way he could be normal in this place… he would never abandon his friend.

The school bell rang an hour later marking that it was now time for lunch. Tristan rose from his desk and followed Selene down the hall. He spotted the girl… amity with her arms crossed heading toward the lunchroom.

She mumbled to herself and when she passed Tristan he overheard something.

"That abomination isn't right… how did willow beat me?" She said and left from Tristan's sight.

The boy shook his head. "that girl has issues… I better keep an eye on her… for luz's sake."

Once the boy entered the cafeteria, he went into the lunch line with selene behind him. Once he reached the front of the line he asked the lunch lady who was a big minotaur woman with muscly arms for a high protein meal.

She slapped a huge purple steak with red potatoes on it and handed him a small carton of chocolate milk which was strangely black.

Tristan exited the line and scanned the room. He looked at edge of the table was willow with her cauldron and a small witch boy with dark skinn and light blue on his sleeves and leggings. Tristan made his way to their lunch table.

"Mind if I sit here rosebud?" Tristan asked, placing his tray down.

"Sure tristan."

"Hey, nice to meet ya, I'm augustus." The kid said with an easy smile.

"Tristan, nice to see you as well… no fuss gus." Tristan extended his hand out for a handshake.

"human handshake and a new nickname. I'll take both." Gus grabbed tristan's hand and shook vigorously.

"Do I look Human to you?"

"no, but you were raised in the human realm." He stated in a matter of fact tone.

Tristan was dumbfounded and then glared at Willow. "How does he know about that?"

"I may have told him… along with luz being my abomination."

"Y-you told him about luz… willow! This isn't a game… we all could get in big trouble… or worse."

"hey do humans eat pb and j?" Gus asks, taking out a sandwich.

"Oh my gosh, I haven't had real food in awhile… please give me some." Luz asked poking her head out of the cauldron.

Gus tore his sandwich in half and feed it to luz.

"I don't know Gus, if amity saw that."

the witch girl jumped on table and pointed her figure menacingly at the cauldron. "I saw that!" Amity exclaimed. "Abominations don't eat."

She then bent down the grabbed luz by the color. The human girl played dead while amity shook her.

"Who are you? What are you? Why are you not talking!?"

"Amity blight!" A teacher held by an abomination exclaimed. He looked like he had a mutated turtle face and was very small. "I expected a hint of jealousy but this is unacceptable. Report to principal bumps office. Now."

"But…" she growled and turned from the cauldron. "this isn't over." she then jumped off the table and made her way to the principal's office.

"I said it before… but that girl has issues."

"I think amity might be onto us." Willow added.

"You can say that again… just be careful with my friend willow. And try to keep a low profile."

the bell rang once again and the witches shuffled into their new classrooms. Tristan entered magic history class which was run by a teacher a purple caterpillars body for head with eight eyes. Tristan took his seat next to a weaselly looking student.

Tristan shook his head, he always hated history and magic history was no different. The boy was fighting to stay awake. Maybe I can nod off for one second. Tristan closed his eyes and focused on sweet dreams.

Tristan opened his eyes and saw luz being held on a table by the principal with Willow and gus looking at him nervous. The principal pulls out a dagger and raises it… bringing it down in a quick thrust with Luz screaming in fear.

Tristan's eyes shot open and he almost fell over. The boy immediately raised his hand. "sir can I use the restroom?"

"of course young man… here is your hall pass." the teacher hand Tristan a small board with an eye imprinted on it.

Tristan dashed out of the door and ran to willow's room which was a witch health class. Tristan knocked on the door.

The teacher A woman that looked like a bull demon stared. "how may I help you?"

"Willow… I need to speak with willow… about our project." Tristan said panting with sweat rolling down his brow. In order to get from one side of the class to the other he had to dash at top speeds.

"Okay, ms. Park you have five minutes." the teacher instructed and went back to her lesson.

Willow immediately came out with her cauldron. "what is it Tristan?"

"Luz is in danger… is she in the cauldron?"

"Yes? How do you know?"

"I just do… we need to go."

Willow nodded her head and immediately gave tristan the cauldron. "go out the back."

Tristan gave the girl a hug and whispered his thanks. He then grabbed the cauldron and pushed it toward the back of the school as he went he passed the principals office and immediately pulled luz out of sight. He leaned his head out into the corner to see amity walk out of the office.

"thank you for bringing this to my attention ms. Blight, I'll look into that abomination of the end of the school day."

` "I appreciate it principal bump."

Once amity and bump finished their conversation both tristan and luz exited the school tristan left the cauldron out back and the two teens ran to the owl house.

Both luz and tristan were exhausted and near dead but they made it to see eda and king talking.

"hey kids, how was the school?"

"Terrible." Tristan said shaking his head.

"awesome." Luz said smirking.

"well, I hope you enjoyed it because now you've got house cleaning duty for a week."

"Yes ma'am." they both said.

Tristan walked up to eda and gave her a hug. "I now see why you hate the magic school."

Eda blushes at this and returns his embrace.

Tristan began to tear up.

"Kid? What's wrong?"

"I almost got luz killed… it was my idea for her to pretend to be an abomination." He sobbed into her.

"Kid, calm down. Tell me what happened."

Tristan revealed everything about the day and eda was a comforting ear.

"that's a lot kid… these future visions come sporadically… but they're useful."

"I know, but I don't want to lose luz. What if something happens and the visions don't come… it would be my fault if she gets hurt." Tristan was not used to showing his weakness but he couldn't contain himself. These… visions… haunted him… they were so real and the feelings remained.

Eda wrapped tristan in a hug. "It's going to be okay… I'm here."

Tristan held her close and let her comfort him. "thank you eda, I'm sorry for getting all sappy."

"it's okay kid… just if you ever need to talk… come to me."

Thank you, I do have a plan for Tristan's backstory and hint… hint… he is related to a member of the cast and they work for the bad guys… witch drama!
