author's note:

hello everyone, how has your day been… christmas is right around the corner ain't it… and I am already seeing people selling trees in my town. I mean give halloween sometime to shine right. Anyway here is the next chapter and I hope ya'll like it.

"I win again!" Eda exclaimed slapping her card on the table. "Wildcard!"

the battlefield was strewn with the bodies of playing cards. These cards were animated by magic to sprout legs and a mouth with a maw. Currently there were four sets of cards doing battle slamming their bodies against each other.

When the wildcard hit the table a blast of electricity surged forward and fried the enemy forces.

Eda pumped her fist in the air "Yes! You lose again, in your adorable owl face!" Eda taunted pointing her finger across the table where owlbert the wooden palisman held a hand of cards.

The tiny owl hooted In frustration, jumping down from the table and hopping away from eda.

Eda began doing a victory dance pumping her fists in the air and singing a song of her victory.

Luz looked on with a smile, her arm under her head as she chuckled at Eda's display of joy.

"Hey party people, what's going on in here?" Tristan asked, walking down the stairs a towel wrapped around his head.

Eda turned her gaze upward and her eyes became as big as saucers and bright as the moon. "Tristan, my sweet boy come down here." She cooed, calling him down with her index finger.

"Oookay… are you okay old girl." the boy walked down the stairs his sports shoes making loud creaking sounds with each step.

"just peachy now that you're here." Eda replied wrapping tristan up in a hug as he reached the foot of the stairs. She began humming as she held him close.

"wow eda, you must be really happy about your winning streak. You're usually less affectionate toward us." Luz commented taking out her phone and pressing the record button. The girl pointed the camera to eda and Tristan with a mental note to use this later to tease her friend.

"okay eda, you can let me go… please." Tristan pleaded, struggling to escape the witches grip.

"Just five more minutes," eda said, pressing tristan's ear to her heart. She smiled warmly as he stopped struggling and just accepted it. "see? It's nice to let me hold onto you…"

"Yeah, but isn't this a little bit weird?" Tristan asked, trying once again to break free from the witch.

"No it isn't." the witch said holding Tristan tightly and she looked down at his sweet face then saw a little smudge on his cheek. "goodness tristan! You have a spot on your cheek. Here, let me fix that." Eda licked her thumb and pressed to Tristan's cheek.

The boy tried to stop her by moving away but she still held her tight grip on him. "eda, quit it, this is gross."

"stop tristan, don't be a baby, just let me get it." she rubbed her finger against his cheek until the spot was completely gone. Seeing tristan's face clean and precious brought another warm smile to the witches face. "there he is! My handsome young man. Now the world can see your pretty face."

eda finally realized tristan after the boy began having trouble to breath.

Tristan took in greedy amounts of breath, relieved that he could move unhindered by the witches affection. "what… was that?"

Eda scratched her head and grabbed her chin. "what are you talking about kitten?"

"I'm talking about… did you just call me kitten? Nevermind! You're acting strange, are you sick or something?"

"no, I just want to show you how much I care. Don't you like it when I do this?" eda's lip began to quiver and tears formed around the edges of her eyes.

"I mean yes, but it's not like you." Tristan stated, trying to make eda realize that he didn't mean anything against her showing affection.

"Alrighty then. Then don't be so concerned about it. Now let's see that hair… I need to make sure you look your best." Eda said reaching for the towel.

Tristan took a couple steps away.

"don't make me chase you." Eda said, her tone showed that she wasn't joking.

Tristan bowed his head and let her take the towel off his head. His hair hopped out and though still wet looked beautiful.

"you really do have pretty hair for a boy. Now let's see…" eda pressed her nose to his head and sniffed deeply. "smells good, you used proper shampoo… proud of you." she said the last bit in a sing song voice.

Her inspection took a another minute but she finally nodded her head. Then she pressed her head to his face rubbing against him "I love you so much my little kitten."

"Eda whats wrong with yo–" Tristan noticed sprouting on the Owl Lady's neck was a couple feathers.

"eda! You're curse is coming back! You need to stop." tristan backpedaled from the witch but she immediately grabbed his hand and pulled him to her breast.

"Oh baby, are you okay? Do you have a fever?" she cooed, beginning to make the same noises as the ones she used when she first turned.

"Luz! Potion!"

"Right coming tristan!" Luz exclaimed dropping her phone and running to the closest where eda kept her potions. She opened the door and to her horror, it was completely devoid of potions. "Oh no she's out!"

Eda began rubbing her face on tristan's "sweety maybe it's time for bed. Momma will keep you warm and safe while you slumber."

"Oh god, I'm too young to be in the same bed as a mature older lady." Tristan distressed.

"Eda you need to let him go. We have to get you your potion." Luz commanded, running up tristan and trying to pull tristan away from her.

"no, my baby needs to get his rest and I'm not going anywhere til he does." eda replied, tightening her grasp on tristan's arm.

"you're tearing me apart!" tristan cried.

Luz realized she couldn't pull tristan away on brute strength due to it's eda's maternal instincts. So she decided on a craftier solution. The human teen reached into her pocket and pulled out the pen with a sparkling light up gemstone topper. "look eda, sparkle thing… ooo." Luz gently waved the pen in front of eda's face.

The owl lady's eyes began to widen as she spotted her sparkle thing. "I want it…" she leapt after it as luz threw it behind the coach. The owl lady scrambled on all four and dug behind the coach.

"Thank you luz."

"don't thank me yet. We'll still need to get her to her potions guy."

"how are we gonna do that?"

"forgive me…" she whispered.

"What do you mean by th—aaaahhh… why luz?" Tristan kneeled on ground as luz had punched him right between his legs. The boy grabbed his pelvis trying to hold his hurt body parts.

"eda! Eda! I think you're baby is sick!?" Luz called and smirked at her own joke.

Eda's head popped up with pen in her mouth. Jumping from behind the coach and skittering on all fours toward tristan eda stood over the writhing boy making soft whimpers. She began licking his face running her tongue up and down.

Luz couldn't handle this level of cuteness.

"is he going to be okay and why is he grabbing his big boy spot." she asked her voice trembling.

Luz began snickering. "yes, he just has pelvis decay… he needs a potion that helps with rot and a heal potion… then he'll be right as rain."

"I hate you luz." Tristan said, his voice high like a mouses squeak.

"oh, oh, my baby. Don't you worry, mama's going to get you the potions to make you better." Eda leaned her head down and grabbed tristan by the collar then hoisted him up with her teeth. She then bounded out of the house.

Luz shook her head playfully. "I would not want to get between that woman and her baby."

"you do realize if he tells eda that you hit him you're dead right?" King stated taking a sip from his cup.

The distinct sound of breaking glass cracked in Luz's head as her eyes bulged. "Eda don't listen to tristan he's delusional!" the young human ran out to follow the two witches.

––––––––––––––––

sitting on a bench with an ice pack on his genitals, tristan stared at the girl next to him apologizing.

"Tristan I said I was sorry." Luz pleaded, squirming under her friends angered glare.

"you. Hit me. In the balls!" He exclaimed slamming his fist on his leg, grazing the aforementioned area. "Ow! Still tender."

"I know and if it makes you feel better I will do all your chores at the house for one week." Luz said In the most persausive voice she could muster.

Tristan began scratching his chin and hummed to himself. The boy turned his head and his lips moved upward into an evil grin. "the rest of the summer."

"But that's just over two months!" Luz exclaimed, glaring at Tristan. "that's unreasonable."

"Ow, ow, ooh, my tender areas hurt so much. I may have to call my mama over and tell her what causes pelvis decay. What do you think luz?" tristan raised his hand to his head and feigned suffering.

"Fine you have a deal." Luz rolled her eyes at his display.

"I knew you'd see it my way."

Luz noticed her friends walking up the road slumped over and heads held low.

"I wonder what's eating them?"

"Let's find out." Luz hopping from the bench and running to her friends.

Tristan followed close behind and kept pace with luz even though he was still sore.

"Hey friends, what's going on? You look sad, who hurt my babies?" Luz slitted her eyes and held her hands together and used both her index fingers to point at the witches.

"them," Willow replied pointing back toward a small group of witch girls surrounding a familiar green haired witch.

"Ah, thin mint is up to her old tricks again." Tristan nodded his head.

"Amity Is holding a midnight conjuring and she invited everyone but us." willow pulled out a mini-scroll which then opened to a website that looked like a social media site with a text from amity on it.

Moonlight conjuring tonight, No losers or half witches allowed. :smiley face:

Tristan rolled his eyes at this. Reminds me of how the girls at my school would act. Some things are just universal.

"what's a moonlight conjuring?" Luz asked, excited by the idea of a new magic thing.

"it's a gathering of witches. You play games, eat snacks, and all sleep in the same room." Gus explained, his voice rising with each word.

"Ooh, like a slumber party. Me and tristan had those."

"Until the rumors started circulating that we were doing more then sleeping." Tristan added, enjoying the look on luz's reddened face.

"you also gathered around in a circle and try to bring an inanimate object to life."

"so… like a slumber party that actually has results." Tristan stated, knowing that some girls were way into the occult.

"i've always wanted to go to one but I never got an invite. You need at least three people to do it and I only have gus… no offense."

"None taken."

Luz grabbed her chin and adopted a stoic face. Her mind began wracking with ideas then she immediately brightened. "I got it! We're three people and tristan makes four. We can hold a moonlight conjuring at the owl house."

"Luz, really, you'd do that for us?" Willow shook her fists in the air near her chest.

"of course, you're my friends."

"you know I'm in good luck convincing eda." Tristan added, his ears peeking up a strange howl. The teen snapped his head toward the sounds origin to see a demonic beast on the back of a cart. He noticed surrounding the cart were six demon men with big swords on their backs.

Thier leader was a six-foot tall blue-skinned demon with an eye patch. He turned his head to tristan and growled at him exposing the demons tusks.

"who are those guys?" He asked, a chill running down his side.

Gus turned his head to where Tristan was looking and shook his head. "those are monster hunters. They look for the most dangerous game and turn it in for fun and profit."

"I hope we don't run into those guys. They look like they earned that reputation." tristan's vision began to blur as he tried to take a couple steps back. "ooh, a little woozy… I'm going back to the bench."

"alright then I'll be right there. See you willow, bye gus." luz called helping her friend to the bench. "you doing okay tristan?"

"Yeah, I feel light-headed but I'm fine." the two students walked up to the potion shop where eda was leaning against the wall.

"Hey eda, can my friends hold a moonlight conjuring in the house."

"sorry but no, I have to go to the nightmarket and I need you to house sit." Eda groaned, as she rubbed her temples.

"you doing okay eda, you look sick."

"Morton gave me a potion that nulls the curses effects but doesn't completely stop it for as long as the one I wanted. It's making my head pound." Eda groaned, the witch pushed herself off the wall and stumbled forward. Before her face could meet the ground eda felt someone grab her by the cloak.

Tristan held his teacher up. "you are in no condition to go anywhere eda, let me and luz get your potion while you rest."

"No Tristan, I need you to watch the house and my stuff. Don't let anyone in, I'm trusting you."

Tristan nodded his head and turned to luz. He indicated with his head for the girl to look at his back to see that he had his fingers crossed.

Luz's lips moved upward and she flashed a toothy grin fully understanding what her friend was saying.

––––––––––––––––

the two teens sat on the coach watching their mentor pack for her trip to the nightmarket.

Tristan had his left leg crosssed over his right, his back reclined against the futon whistling a merry toon.

Luz meanwhile was a nervous wreck. She was shaking a bit like sugar addict without her fix.

"Calm down," Tristan whispered, tapping luz's side. "you're gonna make Eda suspicious."

Eda's ears perked up and she twisted her head over her shoulder toward the teens. "Luz? What do I need to be suspicious about?"

"Uh me and tristan are…"

"… we were gonna break into your appleblood supply." Tristan admited, feigning sadness.

"Oooh, my precious baby, if you wanted mama's appleblood all you needed to do was ask." Eda cooed her pupils engulfing her eyes which grew the size of dinner plates. "you can have one glass of appleblood each… no more you little scamps." she said grabbed Tristan's cheeks and wringing his cheeks.

"Ouch, eda stop… you're hurting me." tristan replied, eda's still pinching his jaws.

"Ooo, my baby is so adorable… give mama some sugar… please." Eda asked grasping tristan's head with both her hands and assualting his forehead with kisses.

"Yeah, you're baby is really adorable… smile for the camera baby tristan." Luz snickered holding the phone up to record this moment.

"Luz stop encouraging this!" tristan said trying to pull eda away from him.

Eda eventually realized him and walked off "alrighty kids I'll be off. Love you all… especially you tristan." Eda blew a kiss to her baby

the witch flew away on her staff taking to the skies with king on her staff.

Luz let out a sigh of relief once eda was out of sight. "come on out friends." she called.

Both willow and gus exited the bush with leaves in their hair.

"Welcome amigo's to the owl house." Luz said with the same flair that eda did when they first arrived.

"Ooooh." the two teens with eyes full of awe looked around.

"Human treasures!" Gus exclaimed pointing to the pile of stuff that eda hasn't had a chance to sell… yet.

"we got treasures from the human realm. But also…"

"Creepy music…" Tristan said placing the needle on a old record player they approbiated from eda's junk pile.

"weird snacks!" Luz said holding a tray of oval shaped purple cookies. "let's get this conjuring started!"

both the witches beamed with excitement as tristan helped himself to a cup of appleblood. Luz and her friends were dancing which brought a smile to the boys face.

As the party went on everyone had a good time. Tristan acted like a wall flower due to him not liking being in a party setting. He was always the type to just enjoy the food. He stuffed another cookie in his mouth, he was on his sixth, then with a satisfied moan swallowed.

As the night went on the party started to wind down.

"it is now time for the moonlight conjuring." Willow annouced pointing to the moonlight seeping in from the window.

"okay, what do we need to do?" Luz asked sitting on her knees near willow.

"we all gather around in a circle then we need a token to bring to life." Willow explained looking at a potted plant with a mischievous grin.

"Oo oo, how's my buff action figure guy?" Gus asked showing a bodybuilder action figure that looked like it belonged on an episode of he-man. Gus squeezed the toy and it spat out one of it's catch phrases.

Tristan shook his head playfully at that.

Willow's turned downward as she was slightly disappointed. "I was thinking of something else entirely." She said taking one last glance at the plant.

Gus's lip began to quiver as he looked sadly at willow.

The witch rolled her eyes. "okay, strong guy it is." she conceded.

"Yes! Today he lives!" Gus exclaims placing the doll in the middle of the carpet.

Willow, gus, luz, and tristan all joined in a circle. Kneeling before the figure and turning off all the lights.

Willow started the chant and they all joined in. The moons power began to radiate in each of them, then escaped inside the doll.

The energy felt good at least to tristan. He felt more energetic and happy then he had every been. He was strong, he was powerful… too powerful.

The moons light was too much. The witches felt their body explode with power and it shot out strike the house.

All three witches fell over taking in sharp breathes.

"what… was that?" Tristan asked, a pain in his chest brought to mind a needle being pressed to his heart.

"I don't know." Willow responded, also holding her chest.

The ground began to shake, vials began to clatter and all the garbage shifted back and forth as the house seemed to move from side-to-side.

"what's happening!?" Luz exclaimed as the house rose up. She ran to the outside door and looked out. "Tristan come have a look at this!" she exclaimed from outside the house.

Tristan took a couple wobbling steps toward the door. He could swear the house was moving.

When he exited the door he saw that the house was indeed walking, running really, toward the cliff.

"hooty! Stop!" tristan grabbed luz by the hand and then ran to do the same to gus and willow.

Once the four touched hands, the house came to an abrupt halt.

"woah, we brought a house to life." Gus said, his eyes full of wonder.

The rest of the teenagers were equally stupified.

"we have to use this to prank amity." Willow replied, jumping on the oppurtunity.

"what, why?" Tristan asked, he knew that this could back fire if they weren't careful.

Willow darted her eyes back-and-forth making tristan suspicious of her motives.

"c'mon tristan, live a little." Luz pleaded giving him the puppy dog eyes.

Tristan groaned as he had lost the argument. "fine but I'm not gonna be the one to tell eda if this goes belly up." he said.

The four used their magic to instruct hooty to run toward amity's house. Each pounding step echoed like thunder as they pushed past the woods.

Tristan could swear he felt like they were being watched but everytime he asked them to take a rest stop so he can go and check… he would find nothing in the vast woods they were located in.

Eventually the two came upon the middle of the woods and they took another break. Tristan looked down and saw the pink skinned three eyed girl talking to a raven.

"that's boscha, she's the head of the grudgby team and amity's new best friend." Willow said the last few words with obvious disdain. She shook her head and growled. "Let's prank her." Willow had an insidious smirk on her face.

"Okay." Tristan conceded, knowing revenge when he saw it. He had enacted many a revenge play with his teammates, it came with the territory of being popular… you help your fellow popular kids get vengeance. Otherwise, you'd be next.

Gus used an illusion spell to summon a megaphone while willow used plant magic to conceal them with the trees.

"Hey! You mean girl!"

Boshca immediately froze and turned her head up to where the voice came from. All she saw was a house sitting on a hill.

"you should stop being so mean." Luz said, trying to fight the urge to snicker.

"whatever, I'll just toilet paper you later." She replied in a snarky high school valley girl voice.

"you are mistaken… for I am no normal house. I am a monster house!" luz then joined hands with gus, tristan, and willow to make the house rise up and take two thunderous steps toward boscha.

The girl screamed and ran anyway faster then she had ever ran before.

The whole group laughed wildly even tristan who was against it let out a few snickers. Nothing like putting a snotty jock in her place. If only he could get away with that in the human realm.

Tristan realized his thoughts of home felt like a distant memory. Like something he had experienced but just couldn't remember with any feeling safe for indifference.

His thought process was interrupted by luz clapping her hand on his back.

"tristan! That was awesome!"

"yeah, now let's go show up that wicked witch of the west." Tristan replied sticking his hand out to hold luz's, he was smiling at this experience… until

thunk!

A giant bolt with a cord tied to it hit the side of the house. Tristan followed cord down to see that it belonged to the guys from earlier and was attached to a ballista.

The ballista cord pulled against the house bringing it down. The house began to wobble on it's chicken legs as it fell to it's side.

Tristan grabbed luz, willow, and gus with his speed. He braced the teens against the impact taking the brunt as his body went through the window and he fell to the ground.

He landed with a crash and a small crater appeared on the ground. Tristan groaned as his vision grew blurry he looked around with his ears ringing.

"Luz… willow… gus." Tristan felt a sharp point press against his neck.

"don't move a muscle brat. The house is ours now." the demon hunter growled his single eye bearing a cold glare toward the boy.

The man pinned tristan down with his foot. He never took his eyes off of tristan whose body was in immense pain.

"Boss, the demon is secured." One of the demon hunters confirmed.

The boss nodded his head and lifted his foot off tristan's chest. "tie this one up with the rest." he ordered walking away from tristan.

Three demon hunters surrounded tristan. They kicked him over and his face met the ground. One stuck his foot on tristan's head pressing a little too hard.

The other two grabbed the boys hands and forcefully wrapped them in rope tying a tight knot which the already weakened boy couldn't escape.

"He is secured boss." The demon hunter who stood on Tristan's head called. The man rubbed his muddy boots on tristan's head and some of the wettened dirt drips onto the boy's face.

"put him with the other witchlings." the demon hunter ordered from afar.

"Yes sir!" the demon hunters said in unison.

The man removed his foot from tristan's head and walked around the boy, grabbing him roughly by the arms and lifting the boy to his feet. "move it you." he ordered pushing the boy.

Tristan took a couple limping steps forward before the weight of his body became too much to bear.

Splash

Tristan fell face first in a mud puddle.

"I said get up!" the demon hunter ordered grabbing his hand and hoisting him up. The man dragged tristan forward as the boy began to lose consciousness.

––––––––––––––––

Tristan's eyes opened for only a few seconds and the muffled voices of the demon hunters rung in his ears.

"… throw them off the cliff." was all he heard from the demon hunters then his eyes glazed over and he closed them again.

Tristan felt the soft hands of luz and willow grasp his tightly… in fear. He felt the burning rope tied around him and the body of his friends.

The boy felt himself be lifted and managed to open his eyes enough to see the that two of the demon hunters lifted them off the ground and carried them forward.

Tristan's ears picked up a familiar sound.

Crash, fwoosh.

The sound of the sea crashing across stone and the high winds blowing. They were near a cliff and the demon hunters intended to throw them off it.

The guards grunted as they took the teens toward the edge. Tristan could barely keep his eyes open but he felt the cold winds revigorate his body. He gasped for breath for the first time since he fell. His shot open and darted to scan his surroundings.

He saw the leader inspecting hooty on the edge of the woods. A plain of dirt and rocks between him and the witchlings. The two lackeys looked tired as they reached the edge of the cliff.

"this is goodbye little witchlings. Thanks for the house." the guard gloated as he threw the kids off the cliff.

The ground came ever closer as the piercing wind nearly deafened the poor boy. The screams of his friends filling him with dread.

Tristan watched as the sharp rocks at the bottom jutted out of the boiling sea and he knew if they were lucky they die from being impaled and not by being burned to death in the sea like lobsters. Tristan lifted his head and closed his eyes accepting his fate.

The teens stopped abruptly as a slight pull to their bodies. Tristan opened his eyes to see a big branch holding them up. He knew it wouldn't last but he took this as a sign… he can't give up. Tristan looked around and saw at the bottom of the cliff was a thick patch of green plant life. He couldn't use plant magic… but willow could.

"Willow! There are some plants down below use you magic to summon a vine to lift us up."

Willow struggled out of her bindings enough to use a spell circle to call the plant and out of the ground jutted a huge vine which picked up the kids and helped them fly up to the top of the cliff. Tristan looked down at the demon hunter.

Willow used her plant to unbind them.

"remember us? We're the brats you threw over the cliff! Time to show you demon hunters what happens when you mess with us." tristan exclaimed luaghing like mad man trying to intimidate the guards and it seemed to work.

"this can't be… you're just children!" the leader exclaimed taking a couple cowardly steps back.

"we aren't just children… we are witches!" Willow exclaimed using a spell circle to slamm the vine knocking out each of the guards with a wide swing.

The leader in reponse lifted his spear and did a spell circle summoning spiked shackles to attack willow. They shot forward and almost hit the witch but tristan stepped in front of her and allowed his instincts to take over he formed a perfect barrier that was bright purple which deflected the attack.

Tristan summoned three darts hitting the demon hunter sqaure in the chest, sending him flying back into the tree trunks and knocking him out.

Tristan stuck his tongue out to the man and ran back to the house. He joined his hands with luz and willow. Then helped his four friends use magic to have hooty run as fast he can.

The four looked out and saw the moon's power was waning so they stepped on it. The house's feet barreled through the night market and stepped on some poor pig man's carts.

It took an hour but they finally returned home and set Hooty down. The kids leaned back and relaxed as all their troubles over.

Slam!

In the middle of the doorway was eda with a sour look on her face. "you are so busted." she said in a disappointed tone.

Both luz and tristan froze up as Eda took stomping steps toward them.

"you held a moon light conjuring."

"we did." Luz and tristan affirmed.

"You invited people without my permission."

"we did."

"and you animated my house… my house!" Eda screamed, looming over over the two teens.

"No don't blame Luz and tristan. We pushed them into doing the conjuring." Willow stood between eda and her friends.

Gus joined her and stuck out his hand. "if you're gonna eat me… do it now… do it now." he exclaimed leaving a confused look on eda's face.

"Well you're all guilty so you'll all be punished." Eda used a spell circle to summon cleaning supplies."by cleaning my house top to bottom."

The four kids nodded their heads and ran to do the chore.

"and another thing." Eda added glaring.

The kids froze ready for another onslaught.

"That was totally amazing and I am definetly joining you for next years conjuring. Now get to work." Eda pointed to the dirty house.

The kids went to do the chore with a smile on their face. Eda smirked and grabbed tristan's collars. "Not you kitten. I've been on my feet all day and I need a massage… plus some warm milk… if you don't mind."

Tristan's lip curled upward and a twinkle entered his eye. "anything for you eda."

"Good, and I'm talking deep tissue too."

tristan chuckled. "of course."

Alexco1209:

thank you for your compliment, writing the hag line was real fun for me and I'm glad you appreciated it.

Son of the dragon:

Once again… another great idea… and trust me there are gonna be more eda and Tristan moments… like this chapter for example
