After the war...Remus

Chapter 1

After the final battle everybody was congregating in the great hall. Hugs and the tears flowed for the fallen and the ones still standing. The injured were being taken to St Mungos for further treatment.

Harry, Ron and Hermione were touring St Mungo's checking in on the injured. As Hermione passed a room she noticed the professor in there. Or the former professor Remus Lupin was sitting by a bed.

'Professor?' as she entered the room.

'Hermione, as I am no longer your professor it's Remus, Ok?'

'How are you? And How is Tonks doing?' nodding towards the bed.

'I'm fine a few cut and bruises. Tonks on the other hand is in bad shape. She has lost a lot of blood. They are giving her blood replenish potion. It looks like she possibly had multiple Cruciatus Curses. She hasn't woke up yet.'

'Where's Teddy?'

'Andromeda has been watching him.'

'Well if you need anything let me know. Ok?' as she walked out.

Hermione checked in every day with Remus, asking how Tonks was doing She sat with him to keep him company.

'Mione can you help me out? Andromeda has plans for next week, could you watch Teddy for me? um on Monday? I will be…'

'Oh, yea, you will be staying at the house right? That's where I've been staying, so yea I can watch him any time you need it.' putting her hand on his shoulder.

'Thanks Mione,' putting his hand on hers. 'See you Friday.'

Hermione and Winky spent Friday morning cleaning rooms for Remus and Teddy. Hermione had bought a bassinette for Teddy to sleep in while he was down stairs. Remus brought Teddy over Friday afternoon. He placed Teddy in the bassinette and collapsed into a chair.

'Any changes?'

'They have stopped giving her blood replenishing potions so that's good, but she still has woke yet.' putting his head on his arms.

'Do you think you can eat something? You need all the energy we can get in you for Monday.' as she dished some stew in a bowl. 'Get this down and go get some sleep.' placing the bowl in front of him.

'But Teddy?' Remus interrupted.

'Winky is so excited to have a baby to care for again, so we will be fine. You've not had anything proper to eat all week and hardly slept. Now eat this and then off to bed, or do I have to get my wand out and hex you!' she grinned.

'Yes ma'am wouldn't want anything to go missing or to add appendages.' grinning back at Hermione. 'Oh where's Harry and Ron?'

'Over at Ron's, to give you time to settle with a little peace and quiet as tonight is normally poker night with the whole crowd and if he stays over there he can see Ginny.' Hermione giggled. 'Right now eat!'

Remus was just getting up to go to bed when Teddy woke up crying, 'Oh I get him settled first he's probably hungry.'

With a pop Winky appeared in Teddy's bassinette with a bottle. 'Master and miss I feeds baby Teddy. I miss having a baby to care for.' as she settled herself under Teddy. Remus reached down to rub his head. 'Don't worry Master he will be back to sleep soon, you need sleep too.'

'Yes, Remus I think Winky has everything under control so bed now!' Hermione end with a stern tone. as she rolled the bassinette in to the library, next to her chair. 'I want to finish this chapter before bed.' Showing him a book as Teddy let out a big burp.

'Little master is now ready for sleep too.' Winky whispered. Remus nodded and mouthed a thank you the pair, as he turned for bed.
